We were looking for a local place for Sunday lunch and came across this place online and decided to give it a go as the reviews were excellent. It was a bonus that you do not have to book in advance, you simply turn up and it's first come first served. The beef Sunday roast was excellent! Pure perfection on a plate...generous serving of perfectly cooked meat with amazing and tasty trimmings as well. The peas, brocoli and leek were so delicious and don't get me started on the mash. They also have a great selection of beers, wine and spirits. The cherry on top? It was very reasonably priced too and we got a table straight away. We'll be back for sure!

Delicious full English! Beautiful mushrooms & sourdough. This was our favourite spot when we lived in Chorlton 2 years ago and we've been waiting to get back there ever since we moved overseas. The breakfast didn't disappoint!

Wonderful little cafe in Chorlton. Their full English breakfast is amazing, I have it every time I go. Rest of the food menu looks very good. Went here for breakfast on Saturday. I had the vegan breakfast burrito which was one of the best cooked breakfasts I've ever had! My partner had the vegan cooked breakfast which went down very well too. Loved the laid back atmosphere and friendly staff. Will definitely be going back.

Breakfast is unapologetically buttery and delicious. Their avocado spread has a zest to it. The mushrooms are not your usual bland sauté. They tasted like chives, a bit of garlic and of course butter. Home sausages taste yummy. Overall, just right for a cold morning and/or a hangover.

Had a nice vegan breakfast this morning from this place, ordered a takeout and it was quickly prepared. Lovely food, friendly staff and a good vibe. Despite the current situation we have to do what we can to support wholesome businesses such as these! I'll be back for sure

Good food and quick, I’m fine with QR code self service, although a faf setting up accounts etc. Would have more stars but after spending £30 on 2 breakfasts and paying an automatically added tip, the waiter told me I had to fetch my own glass of water - I know it sounds petty but sometimes the little things…

Pretty good place, nice vibe and good staff. Menu feels a little limited. New visit: Went for just a drink and left wishing they had some dedicated outdoor non smoking area. It was not pleasant for us to either sit inside on hot day or breathe smoke when we don't smoke, bit worse for our 6 month old son.

Part kitch, part navajo, part faux-psychic disco but all vibes. An eclectic place for friends to chill, have some beer and enjoy the retro music selectionon a Saturday evening either indoors or outdoors (indoors after 10pm). This place cnn get a bit noisy inside so not the best place for conversations. But if you are okay intermittently talking over the Supremes or the BeeJees. It's a middle of the road place to catch up with your mates. Last order at 10:50pm.

I've been past it lots of times and the terrace is always full and it definitely is the best place to be, weather permitting. It's nice and welcoming inside but a bit small. The bar is great as it's full of yummy things, mainly a great selection of craft beers and a couple of ales. The 2 I tried were very good. Between us we had a burger and a selection of the tapas and they were all very good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and knowledgeable about their products. If I can get a table I'll be back.

Food is delicious and very reasonably priced. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Staff are all very relaxed to the point that it is difficult to differentiate who works there from who is just drinking in the bar. On more than one occasion I've waited 40-50mins for food after ordering. All that said, if you're in a chill mood and not in a rush to go anywhere, this is a nice, simple place for food and drink.

A friendly and welcoming bar / eatery that has an excellent selection of beers. I only stopped off for a pint with friends but the food that other people were eating looked nice, fresh and not too big for the plate. Having eaten and drank many a time at the West Didsbury version, it was good to see that they have brought their relaxing and friendly atmosphere with them to Chorlton.

Had the jerk chicken skewers last time - so delicious and really exceeded my expectations in both quality and quantity. The other dishes I had on other occasions were also really tasty and good value. They also have an excellent selection of beers. However although the food is good value the beer is very expensive (>£4 a pint and some >£5).

I went to Mary and Archie's a couple of months ago, on a sunny afternoon and had an enjoyable time. The bar is very relaxed and friendly, although I wished that the staff paid more attention to me as a customer as they ignored me at first whilst they chatted with one of their friends for several minutes. I ordered a coffee and a beer and they offered to bring the coffee over when it was done. I learned about 10 minutes later that they 'forgot' but I think that this is again due to the staff talking to their friends. Despite this, I have given Mary and Archie's 4 stars because the ambience and the location are great and the selection of drinks are excellent. I will definitely enjoy visiting here again during the summer months although I hope that the staff treat me better next time.

Great new addition to Chorlton. Simple menu served till 10. Burgers & sandwiches mostly. The burgers are splendid. Meat from Frost the butcher. They serve a brunch menu until 3. It would be 5 stars but £11 for 2 pints is insane, no matter how tasty the beer.

It can be difficult to get a seat at certain times, but the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is lively. The food I had was really tasty and it was served pretty quickly. Look out for the friendly old dog in the corner and make sure you say hello.

Delicious food properly cooked and nice atmosphere. It is a pleasure having food outside when the weather is nice and Mary & Archie has also table outside to let you enjoy it. On Manchester road in chorlton it's a nice break from the city. Personally I usually go during the weekend walking from Manchester it's a nice walk than gain some energy for the coming back. The staff is friendly and very available. Just good! I prefer the brunch menu but it's available only until 1 pm (?13:30) I usually go for eggs royale, my favourite with salmon on sourdough end poached eggs.
