We decided to have afternoon tea here as it looked different to your traditional options. We were not disappointed and it was absolutely divine! Excellent food and value for money wise it was great. Absolutely no complaints. All the staff were friendly and our waiter was very attentive and kept us topped up which we appreciated 🙂. The setting is beautiful and you feel like you are somewhere very special. Will definitely revisit.

Here’s to cheers and sunny blue skies! It’s the first day of spring and we’re loving Sunset Manchester in this fine weather. As you can tell, our love for Sushi is limitless and what better way to enjoy it then with a perfectly curated cocktail. Sunset is sister restaurant to the renowned Australasia and it doesn’t disappoint. The sushi was delicious and varied. Their signature cocktails are made to match with exotic influence. They describe the bar as a place to forget the world outside and soak up Sunset. One of us is from Australia so anything that transports us to faraway shores is a must for us! Sunset hosts an Asian themed banquet for afternoon tea which includes cocktails and sushi as well as other beautiful elements of bento boxes. We love this option because it means less decision time and more eating and drinking. This runs from 12-5 and ranges from £22.50-29.50pp. Alternatively, you can order individual dishes from their menu and choose your cocktail to match. Great place…. Food really nice…. Great drinks…… would have loved a larger cocktail menu and a bigger vegan food selection…… but well worth a visit!

Came for afternoon tea as it's different to your average sandwiches/cakes. Some of it I wasn't keen on but that is down to preference. The food itself was lovely and well presented. Slightly annoying that a service charge was added to the bill. The service is the whole idea of dining out and should be included in the food price.

The overall vibe of the restaurant is very cute and cosy, a very cool spot for lunch or dinner! The food was really nice, especially the dessert, but a bit overpriced for what you get.

Awww this place is plush, elequent, fabulous decor, friendly, helpful staff...definitely coming again...only thing was that the music (which was good) was way to loud from 9pm onwards that you were having to shout to get yourself heard to the person sat next to you & when ordering drinks as part of table service...hence only 4 stars and why we left at 10:30pm...just turn it down a notch...

Very 'cutely' themed place with thoughtful touches like blankets and heaters, during the outdoor only restrictions. Also the seating area is covered if it rains. Wide drink choices and tasty small plates- although i wished there was more food options, and more volume to some of my drinks. However the ambiance is great, waitresses also provided friendly service, would definitely visit again.

Service is prompt and their selection of small bites are quite tasty. Restaurant is uniquely decorated and the atmosphere is great for a dressy date out with the girls.

The best Japanese in Manchester. After eating some of the best Japanese around the world, i can no longer eat at the majority of so called Japanese restaurants in the UK. Sushi and sashimi were fresh and rolls were spot on. Cocktails were great as well.

This place is lovely and buzzing. It has a very Love Island theme. The food and cocktails are amazing. We got an afternoon tea which was excellent. There was a savoury bento box and a sweet tower. However, the thing that upset us was that we were told the non-alcoholic afternoon tea was £22.50 and the alcoholic one was £27.50. We were told to order any non-alcoholic drink so we ordered mocktails but at the end were charged separately for the mocktails. The waiter wasn't very apologetic about the situation and quite dismissive. What kind of afternoon tea comes without a drink? The food was great though!

Was alright. Had booked it on the basis of afternoon tea which was on their website to be available at the time of booking. Small plates were delicious but not what we were there for. Wasn’t informed that it wasn’t available until trying to order it. A heads up would have been nice. Service was very slow when ordering drinks. Not all staff wearing masks which was a bit annoying. Including the bar staff preparing drinks. Wasn’t the perfect belated birthday gift I had hoped to give especially considering it cost of the bill.

Aesthetically the place is flawless. A glass prism that takes you down to an immaculately presented restaurant. The staff were extremely nice, knew the menu and explained both of the ways you can eat in there. The food presentation was amazing. But I felt like that's where the experience peaked for myself. I felt like the food didn't live up to the expectations. We went for the 'local' way of eating, various small plates coming as and when they are cooked. None of the food seemed to be hot, all luke warm which I thought was odd. Personally I thought the meal was overpriced. I took my girlfriend out for a birthday meal and it was such an anti climax. Nice place to go if you want to take some photos and look the part, but I guarantee there are better places to eat in manchester.

Such a cosy feel. Our server knew the menu in detail. Managed to customize our afternoon tea to suit our pescatarian palate. The black cod and desserts were outstanding! My husband actually spilled his coffee while the chocolate mousse and nougat transported him in time and space to a french/Viennese patisserie shop. The coffee on his pants brought him back ha ha! I wouldn't recommend to indulge regularly as it will put a dent in your pocket and a paunch on your torso, but everyone should have afternoon tea at Sunset, at least once a year : ) Ok may be once a month : ) Also it's the perfect place to cheer you up if you got some bad news to work through. Even if you sit in a corner, on your own, seeking minimal disturbance, the ambience will put a smile on your face, a song in your heart and relax you with good food. I would recommend Sunset more than Australasia it self
