Reviews of The Barton Arms
G. W.
Came in today for some snacks after a walk round Worsley. First let me say…. The staff in here never disappoint they’re so welcoming to both me and my children every time I come in. The foods lovely as always, service can’t be faulted. Sat with the children and they come over to see if they’d like any colours and stuff. They speak to you in a friendly manner and the whole atmosphere is so relaxed it’s just a good vibe. We only had snacks today but we often visit and I’ve never had an issue with food. Because my daughter wanted some of the nachos but doesn’t like the sauces they even delivered them separate and then only put cheese on half of them for us - nothings too much trouble. Can’t wait to visit again for a roast!!

What a fantastic pub/ eating house.
Myself and 6 friends had lunch there today.
The atmosphere and the staff were great, very attentive and friendly.
We chose the fixed menu prices for our lunch. It ranged from £6 to £10.69 fo 1,2 or three courses.
The food was hot and plentiful.
I would definitely recommend a visit.
Thank you Jonathan and your staff for a lovely experience. Kind regards Sue. X

Simply the best! Came in for my partners birthday and they made us feel more than welcome! Looked after us every step of they way, had a laugh with us and made an amazing effort on the food to accommodate us. Great place, fantastic atmosphere, better staff! Thank you.

Visited Manchester with my family recently, travelled from Birmingham so first time visiting the pub. Staff were so welcoming and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely too we all really enjoyed it. Reasonably priced both food and drinks. Would highly recommend for all ages and would also definitely return on our next visit to Manchester.

Visited on Monday, early evening time and it was very quiet. And I liked that. Chose a 3 course meal from their menu offer and didn't regret it.
Seating area is very clean and comfortable, made it a nice pass by time.
Cosy decor, yet spacious areas.
Would visit again.

First visit 3 days ago. Was pleasantly surprised. The staff are lovely, the food is great and best of all they have a dedicated vegan and vegetarian menu. Will definitely go back k.

Nice pub meal was lovely stake cooked perfectly. Recommend
B. W.
Food was okay but the service is very slow. We were a party of 16. They brought the children meals first
They had completely finished eating before any other meal was brought out
By the time the last 3 got their meals everyone else had either finished or almost done. A few minutes later they came out and started to clear the pots on the table where people had just started eating. I find that the height of bad manners.

I visited today as the pub I originally went in wasn't dog friendly. I was blown away. Free dog treats, my daft dog knocked a full pint over and they replaced it no charge. The child spilled rice everywhere - again no problem at all. Friendly staff and great food. Will be coming back often .

This is a pub I used to go in my younger days before we went into Manchester. I called in recently for lunch midweek with the family. We all had surf and turf, one of my favourite from years ago but you never see these days. We opted for the sirloin and they were really nice meals. The pub itself is looking very tired though. The seating area where we were was very stained on the cushions and the toilets need a big refurb. It's positioning is excellent though so im sure a refurb would recoup the expense. We went for a quick walk along the canal after the meal. Even looking tired though on a nice sunny day its a nice place for a meal and a drink so we will go back again but not in a rush.
J. S.
Fantastic place to eat. Went for Mother's day food great, service great. Dog friendly aswell. Booked again for end of April.
M. L.
Great atmosphere, pleasing decor, lovely staff and excellent food. The icing on the cake is dedicated vegetarian and vegan menus, and gluten free also.
P. K.
We had a great meal on Sunday and the staff were very helpful and friendly, we've eaten there several times and always enjoyed it .
b. r.
Great place for a drink, dog friendly, or a meal, not had a bad one. Some nice beers, Doom Bar and Wainwright's.
T. W.
Nice place, good food. Good like all the other pubs in this chain.
D. S.
Lovely food and a separate place to eat for people with dogs.
Also spotted a few celebrities. A lovely place all round
M. P.
Lovely welcome on our arrival .. good food and the steak night was great value for money.
C. S. W.
Gorgeous meal. Really lovely friendly staff. Fantastic portions. Won't go hungry. Can take home what's left if want to. 4 of us and none of us finished our meal as there was so much! Delicious
R.
First time I've been there bit seems to be a nice place. Staff and locals very friendly. We went on a Sunday when there was a very good pub quiz.
J. H.
Outstanding vegetarian menu
It actually has its own dedicated vegetarian menu with multiple starters multiple mains and a great choice of deserts all cooked amazingly well
This place is my main go to and it knocks spots off all the other pubs: restaurants in the area !!
Great service snd chatty smiley staff ..
T. C.
The place is good to be honest 👍 but what I was really impressed with was the bar staff "Lauren" She was so chatty and helpful with some banter thrown in for good measure, it was a pleasure to do business with her, asset to place in my book, well done girl keep up that smile and the good work 👍
K. B. (. J.
Great food, staff were friendly and helpful.
Not many people in the restaurant as it was a Wednesday evening, probably only 12 to 14 people dining.
u. o.
A really good dog friendly pub just off the Bridgewater canal footpath.
They've only recently (july 2020) become dog friendly and so far I'd say they're doing an excellent job. They didn't have 'Doggy Diners' when we went, but we spoke to staff about them and they said they'd be interested in providing them in future depending on how many people asked for them.
Dogs are allowed inside as well as at the tables outside, which means you're OK if you set off in sunshine n get caught out by traditional English weather.
My partner had a wrap, which she felt was a little bit small, and I had a BLT. We both found the food excellent, well cooked and served by nice friendly staff.
It was our first visit to this particular pub and we parked in the road outside but there is a good sized carpark. We will definitely be making the Barton Arms a regular stop when we walk along the Bridgewater foothpath.
Water bowls are located inside and out so your pup can have a drink while you enjoy a cold one.
M. B.
Great food at a great price. Also very helpful and friendly staff. 😄
E. C.
I love egg & chips as much as the next man or woman but it's pretty much the only vegetarian wheat-free option on the main menu. But.... the GF Salted caramel millionaire's gold bar is fantastic!
M. S.
Nice food. Service pretty good. But far too hot for comfort. Had to turn the radiator off.
L. A.
Ate here once, the food was ok, but nothing to rave about. They do allow dogs in and have doggy snacks available for them.
R. W.
Brilliant, helpful staff who went the extra mile to make a very memorable special day. We booked here for a group of around 30 for a celebration. The staff sectioned off part of the pub, decorated for us and were very welcoming. The food was high quality and exactly as pre-ordered. There was no waiting between courses and every last minute little extra was done for us without hesitation. I cannot commend the staff enough. We dealt with multiple people before and on the day and each helped to make it a wonderful day for everyone. We'd give them more than 5 stars if it were possible. Thank you.
J. M.
Good pub, headed on a Friday night, dry jan so just had Coke but great atmosphere and the alcohol was reasonably priced.
S. B.
New years eve day walk with friends ended upon the Barton Arms. Food was lovely, not quite as described but was still good. Nice traditional friendly feel to the place, will be back when visiting my friends again.
J. R.
Top little place, staff always friendly and the food top notch. Can’t beat the Mon - Fri two or three course deals.
R.
A pleasant pub with some outdoor seating. Quite large inside and also a large car park. Smartphone quiz on Tuesdays which is pretty good. Good selection of ales and lagers on draught. Never had food in here so can't comment but seems a standard pub menu. Drinks prices were on the cheaper side.
J. “. M.
Good food, nice staff, a bit Dingy lighting wise though
S. D.
Lovely food, very nice service, dog friendly. I do not think that anybody from staff serve/drink green tea before as I get extra milk pot and smarties... But they cover all possibilities so I can only say that I enjoy 😄
P. P.
Could do with a clean, there was food on the walls and the food was very average, we had the Sunday roast which tasted like a microwave meal. A shame because it used to be a lot better than this
R. M.
It's a lovely pub and food is good the only complaint was we were a big party and had to go to the bar to pay the bill and explain what we had when the meal was a set Christmas menu this in my eyes is not good enough
W. M.
It's a long time since we had been here, as it's not a local pub for us, but the food, service and prices were excellent, we couldnt believe the size of the fish for the price paid.Staff were very friendly, Jonathan was a dream to deal with. Thanks all, it was well worth the 40 mile round trip for this visit, we hope to be back again soon. Wendy
G. C.
Called for sandwich at lunchtime. Food was lovely and staff were friendly. Recommend
M. B.
Good menu served promptly! Covid restrictions enforced but in a sympathetic manner. Food good in quality and quantity. Mini Puds a great idea and delicious with your favourite brew or coffee to complete a lunch without exploding !
I. H.
Nicest food I've had in a while, fast service to
M. M.
First time in the Barton Arms with my family and my dog.. amazing service from the moment we arrived.. the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the locals equally so. Food was so nice and great value. Will definitely be going again
N. K.
Food is pretty good for a chain operator. Nice friendly service.
P. H.
Definitely worth a visit....extremely friendly and efficient staff....Sunday lunch was lovely.
R. C.
My family and I have just been for a lovely meal here. The rib-eye steak was perfect and delicious, the entire meal was excellent. There were 6 of us and I can honestly say, we all thought everything was spot on. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. Definitely worth a visit. We'll 100% be going again. Thank you to all the staff for such a lovely evening.
A. A.
Bit disappointed. The 3 stars are really for the staff that were working they were pleasant and friendly and we were greated with a nice welcoming smile.
We got seated at a table and noticed how the walls looked quite grubby and in need of a freshen up. Then my wife spotted what appeared to be a snail trail underneath the table. I alerted the barman and he moved us to another table and very promptly cleaned it up.
I ordered the mixed grill, my wife had the beef lasagne and we ordered a child's pizza with no sides for my 2 year old daughter. My daughters pizza looked like it had been sat out for a while with the cheese a bit congealed. The meat in my mixed grill was nice flavoursome but not overly hot. The chips mushrooms and tomato were quite cold. My wife's lasagne looked like it was a re-heat job and didn't appear fresh. We left most of our mains. Didn't really want to complain to the nice staff so just paid and left. Unsure if since its become dog friendly standards of cleanliness have dropped.
S. T.
Excellent, just popped in with our children and our grandchildren and had a very nice welcome. Excellent pub
J. W.
Very friendly staff; great atmosphere all around; definitely dog friendly. Food 7/10 not best roast around
p. c.
Good friendly service. Enjoyed the food .
Tasty and we did not have to wait too long.
Big airly pub near to worsley canal and green so good for a post or pre lunch walk.
P. B.
Great atmosphere, good food and excellent service.
J. J.
Love the pub great staff. manager looks after it well but am really surprised staff arent wearing masks and no screens at bar although they take details on arrival of customers even though staff dont protect customers.Very un nerving
Dog friendly pub but tonight they didnt stay in dog area allowed to roam throughout the pub which shouldn't be allowed
Ben approached my daughter and said "this is a dog friendly pub" .That is irrelevant ,they should be in the set area .Not all customers want dogs near them and are allergic and frightened of them for whatever reason.A noisy group swearing and loudly having fun but loud was in tonight and no one asked them to be quieter even after hour and half when we asked.
S. D.
Brilliant service, lovely food and friendly people.
O. M.
Nice meal good pint clean good value
D. M.
Lovely place, but it was just OK, confused if I should have used the app to order or order from staff. I used both services which both were great. Could possibly do with cleaning the floor after customers, as I walked past old food on the floor. I would visit again.
A. C.
Great boozer, that’s what it is a boozer serving great food with a smile. It’s not the Ritz but unfortunately surrounded by snobby people that want Michelin menu on pocket money prices with a red carpet to boot.
You will always get what you order, well made and hot from the kitchen, when it’s ready.
If your in a rush try MacDonalds, if you want caviar go to town but whatever you do don’t try and change the best boozer in the area.
If your trying the lunch menu, vegi or not try the spinach and lean pie it’s brilliant.
Also they are taking COVID serious with greetings at the door and taking your number unlike places just over the road, assuming your patient enough.
M. W.
Barman and food service man really kind and very helpful. Friendly and efficient service . Thhankyou
A. L.
Great pub, serves food and real ales and is dog friendly.
L. W.
The haddock and chips is easily the best pub fish and chips I've had in my 41 years on earth. Proper good value and the staff are bloody lovely.
J. S.
Excellent food, with a good choice dishes, Very nicely presented and garnished.
Great value for money, and we couldn't have eaten more than the two delicious courses we chose. Super non alcoholic drink mixes too. . Very friendly and courteous staff and, despite being quite busy, we were served quickly. We had a thoroughly enjoyable early evening experience, and we have booked a family meal for next week.
R. R.
Very attentive service, took care of the dog same as us which was brilliant! Thank you! Left full and happy! ❤️
E. C. (.
Decor and food wise, a lovely little pub/restaurant let down by fairly unhelpful, not very cheerful staff. We were sat around waiting too long for our food (which to be fair was quite nice when it arrived). Overall an experienced marred by the feeling that the staff just wasn't interested in helping or even talking with you. I will give them the benefit of doubt and presume I caught the staff on a bad day and will probably visit them again on a different occasion and update my review.

Lauren Bradbury
There was a young lad working unfortunately did not get his name, he was polite & professional.
J. F.
Good service, good food, however, website states this place opens at 11.30 on Fridays. I counted 14 people waiting outside at 11.45 , very disappointing!Doors opened at 11.55.
B. H.
Went here for lunch today as were 2 OAP Myself and friend we were made to feel relaxed as its our first meal out in 18 months
Meal choice was beautiful
Staff very helpful explaind that we were very nervous All help given we finished our meal with a beautiful cappuccino with chocolate sweets on side
Very welcome place and we could choose where we wanted to sit Thank you x
M. F.
What a lovely pub! Situated off the main road with its own spacious car park. Lovely to sit outside in the summer months and watch the world go by. Very convenient for popping in for a refreshing drink or bite to eat whilst taking a break from walking, cycling or jogging along the canal bank or from a lovely day out at the local woods. They welcome dogs too, with a section of the pub dedicated to ‘mans best friend’. I have visited at different times of the week and each time have had amazing freshly made food and welcomed by such friendly and lovely staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. It is very clean and comfy and decorated with great taste and have real fires for the chillier days. Myself and ladies have booked for the Festive Xmas Meal and we are really looking forward to it. Prices are very reasonable for food and drink. They accommodate small and large groups of people and there’s plenty of room for anyone with a disability or that may use a wheel chair. Go along and try it - you’ll love it.
P. o. S.
Nice open fire , good beer , friendly staff
R. B.
Good food, and nice friendly bar lady
R. L.
We visited the Barton Arms for a family lunch on Saturday. Such a cosy and welcoming place. The staff were very polite and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their meals, which looked as good as they tasted. My fish and chips were delicious. We will be back soon!
k. h.
The staff were very friendly here and professional, dogs welcome too so that's nice. The food was lovely pub food. The cleanliness wasn't fantastic, unknown liquid stains all over walls and skirting boards were disgusting but other than that I would definitely recommend this pub.
M. B.
Great night all round. 2 cocktails for £7 after 5pm, live band playing.
D. B.
Great setting, surrounded by nice scenery.
I was sat next to a nice warm cosy fire, which was perfect as I'd spent a long time out in the cold.
I ordered the Naked Glory burger and it was delicious! It was a little bit on the pricey side for pub food, especially considering it didn't come with chips. I had to buy the chips separately. But it's not quite worth knocking 1 star off for. I'd definitely eat here again.
n. b.
Lots of veggie and vegan options. If you fancy the gold bar its very rich.
S. W.
Very friendly and welcoming Staff.Food was lovely. Will be back.xx
C. M.
A lovely atmosphere, fires burning. Nice that dogs can go in.
C. I.
Fantastic pub. I love the open fires. Gives it a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The bar staff/ management are always extremely welcoming and happy. They clearly know what customer service means. And they always go above and beyond to help you.
Great choice of drinks and snacks, and the food menu is incredible. Everytime we have ate here our food has always been delicious and piping hot.
Would 100% recommend this pub.
F. W.
First class service staff very helpful and friendly
D. K.
Nice place to call for a quick pint whilst on a walk.
P. N.
Great place, open fire, not noisy, great ambience
C. L. F.
What a fantastic place to go. It is a little tucked away but it was a terrific find. The staff were welcoming, friendly and obviously understand the real meaning of 'customer service'. The place was very clean and the background music was a comfortable level (unlike a lot of pubs where the music is so loud it's difficult to hold a conversation). There is a great selection of ales, and make sure you head in there for your lunch or dinner one day. The menu is excellent and varied, and the food is, it has to be said....superb and incredibly good value for money.
Will definitely be back.
Highly recommended.
B. M.
Regularly visit the Barton arms for a number of reasons. The food is great value for money and always a 10/10. The staff are very friendly, attentive and polite. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. The quiz nights are fantastic and it's nice to see that the manager is always around interacting with his customers too.
D. W.
Foods nice but let down by oven chips 👎, table service is lacking somewhat, they clearly can't work with the app which when busy and low staff would help them immensely - staff were friendly and helpful when we managed to snag one
Z. G.
I had a gorgeous time at the Barton Arms. The atmosphere was really comfortable. My Salmon dish was cooked to perfection so was a very happy bunny and reasonably priced too. I will recommend to all and will definitely be returning. Thank you to all Barton Arms staff for making my visit a very enjoyable experience💓💪🇬🇧
C. D.
Really good value food and service.
J. A.
Beautiful area and great surroundings. The food was presented in great quality and large portions. Service was excellent and delivered with the upmost of politeness and efficiency. I would hopefully be going back one day and would definitely advise people to pop in and have a look at what is to offer.
Thank you Barton Arms for making a stag meal one to remember 👍😊
N. D.
Just called here, on my way home from work
An must say what a lovely warm lively place it is.
Christmas theme looks really good.
Service was really friendly an the food was amazing.
Lovely to also see that it is pet friendly will definitely be calling back soon.
Lastly looking forward to the soul New Years party
d. t.
Just went for drinks & dessert. Apple pie wasn't that good, too doughy. They offer tropical cocktails, etc but no ice! Who wants to drink a warm cocktail especially on a warm night! Place looks nice from the outside.
H. K.
The atmosphere from friendly faces to fire places ,makes you feel right at home. Meall are definitely worth the price because they are of excellent quality !! The best thing about this place is that there is discounts that you can use regularly!! for example last week there was 50% off all main meals!! Literally cuts your bill in half so why would you go anywhere else! l would definitely recommend this place to everyone !!!
R. P.
Went for Sunday lunch but we were too late and the roasts had run out. However the food we had was good, the wine at £10 a bottle good value and overall a good venue. One of my favourite eating pubs on the area
u. b.
Good service nice staff best price in worsley!!!!
Love it!
K. A.
A group of us recently celebrated a friends' birthday here. I dropped off the table decorations a day early and TIM kindly prepared it beautifully on the day, for which we were very grateful as it looked fabulous. The food was nicely presented and tasted yummy. The portion sizes were good and were excellent value for money. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. The service was fantastic. TIM and the team were polite, friendly, helpful and professional. I recommend this place to all and look forward to returning in the near future.
J. A.
Good quick service good menu
T. G.
Visited for grandmas birthday and the staff were exellent, friendly and very helpful. Also the food was delicious, I hope to visit again! Thank you!
W. M.
Nice pub set out well plenty of tables with several open fires. The staff were helpful and friendly. Kirsty was very funny and had time for you.
We had Sunday roast with veg, great but some of the veg was very hard and under cooked but thats me!
Would i go again, YES
A. E.
Celebrated my son's 21st here yesterday. The food was fantastic and the staff were friendly and really helpful. Took ballons, cake and decorations in the morning and when we arrived the table was dressed and looking good. Thank you all for making this a special time for Mark he loved it and so did everyone else.
J. W.
This is turning into a favourite place to go especially at lunchtime. Conveniently located just a short drive from Jtn 13 on the M60 it's a very decent place to go.
Food is good, perhaps a little more pricey that other options around but it's worth it for the comfortable surroundings.
Service can be a bit patchy but nothing to warrant any complaints from me ~ I like it here 😊
G. B.
Excellent VFM and service. Always a nice atmosphere.
R. W.
Really enjoyed our Christmas meal...spot on.xx
D. D.
Excellent dog-friendly pub. Good food and good drinks options. Even to bottomless brunch!
A. H.
Visited with friends yesterday after a walk on the canal was rained off for coffee and a dessert, the staff working were both lovely and friendly, coffees hot and desserts absolutely amazing, two had the baked Alaska and one had the chocolate bomb (which was brilliant!). I hadn't been in before, only found due to googling dog friendly pubs in the area, but will definitely be visiting again to try the main menu!
A. G.
First visit to here. Roaring fire, friendly welcome for both humans and dogs.
I had the Fish & Chips and cannot recommend this enough. Light batter, moist fish, a tasty meal.
Will definitely visit again.
Z. P.
I went in for the Sunday dinner yesterday after a walk along the canal, was gorgeous. The girl who served us was so attentive and lovely I'm sure she said her name was Ruth? Anyway overall a lovely experience
J. J.
Nice. Finally was full on Sunday and atmosphere was fantastic
B. C.
Dog friendly but Sunday roast is a bit disappointing!
K. S.
Absolutely lovely place and amazing staff. Food was high standard, presentation was key and we was well looked after by the manager Jonny. We had a food check back which you don’t get in most places. Very friendly pub. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel welcomed after first time visiting here. Can’t wait to come back already! 10/10 guys ☺️
D.
We were superbly impressed with this pub, we went to Worsley for a simple ride out and to enjoy a nice summer day and spontaneously decided on the Barton Arms for a late lunch. The extensive menu had something for everyone, the range of beers and lagers leaves you spoiled for choice, the attentive staff and the superbly prepared and presented food made this an obvious choice for a repeat visit.
S. P.
nice pub very nice surroundings, good food very good service at good prices.
T. B.
Good quality lunch on a Bank Holiday afternoon, didn't have a roast but they did look good. Good atmosphere and busy at the bar (as it should be in a quality establishment on a BH!). Manager, Jonny, was very friendly and his team were all excellent.
C. G.
Most of the time (80%) everything is just perfect. Service can be slow, and at times, food can take ages. If you have food allergies or intolerances, your choices can be very limited. However, they seem to take it seriously and are careful with their food handling.
J. G.
Great place for a family gathering, that's why we were there. The food came out in good time, was hot and tasty. No waiter service, everything is ordered at the bar. The interior is what you expect for a British pub and it's very spacious.
p. h.
lovely pub with lovely friendly staff. Called last week with the family for tea, really nice food as always. Excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend!
G. M.
Went to have something to eat on Sunday no trouble with getting a table we both ordered mushrooms for our starter. I had roast beef dinner he had seabass enjoyed the meal but our starter came the same time as our main meal we sat in dog friendly side of restaurant very reasonable will be going there again
M. L.
Fantastic pub with great food, served promptly and politely by great staff. Even went out of their way to show me the allergy listing. Thanks for a great date night.
J. S.
Didn't have full menu, but still plenty of choice.
D. B.
Lovely meal, great staff
J. M.
A fantastic place to visit! Such a cosy pub and a great atmosphere. The food is of high quality and the staff are very welcoming and super friendly. They have a dog friendly section too, plus you can eat meals outside when the weather is nice. It is in a lovely location, right by the canal. A must visit for everyone
R. T.
Nice place for a drink on a hot day. Only about 100m from the canal so a popular stopping off point at weekends for walkers cyclists and boaters. Nice terrace area. Food ok, nothing special but the prices are good so can't really complain. If you want Haute cuisine Georges restaurant is across the road.
S. W.
I have been going into The Barton Arms for years and years, the first time being about 20 years ago. The place had always been good with regard to decor, comfort and food and drink options. So much so that when I was back in the UK from Australia for a few weeks, I took my parents and the in-laws.
A. K.
Nice pub, great food especially the roast duck flat bread.
D. M.
Always a lovely cosy place to spend some time and have a meal or drink.
L. H.
Went in on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed full of people. It's a big place so there are plenty of places to sit. There is a real fire at the front which is great on a cold day. It's just off the canal so good for a drink at the end of a walk. It is a cha8m pub though so average food and beer options
P. M.
We stopped going here because the food really went down hill but we decided to give it another chance and are really glad we did. There is new management, kitchen staff and front of house staff that have really turned the pub around. Will highly recommend, lovely atmosphere, amazing reasonably priced food and brilliant customer service. We were served by Jane who was very helpful and deserves a special mention on this review.

This is an Ember Inn, but the place is nice with lots of outdoor seating. The pub is very close to the canal SL good for a stroll.
Staff looked after us very well and they have a really good allergens menu and clearly took this seriously. Well done!
T. K.
Great, atmospheric place. Can't comment on food as the last time I ate here I complained about the dirty plates. Let's hope this is better.. At eat next time. Its always got a family atmosphere and cosy feel.
L. M.
I live so close to this place that I come here quite a lot.
The food is great value for money (look for the specials) and they have a good selection of draught and seasonal drinks. Atmosphere is relaxing. The staff are great and always make you feel welcome. There are plenty of seating options in different areas to accommodate large groups or couples. There is a Pub quiz on a Wednesday night which is sometimes hosted by a local radio presenter. This place is great in the winter as they have the 3 log burners on.
Last orders is at 11pm on weekdays and Saturdays and 10pm Sundays.

Lovely pub with a fantastic atmosphere. Brilliant food with friendly staff.

The Barton Arms is a modern, but characterful and warm "local pub" that offers good beef, decent food and even excellent parking.
Staff are friendly and the environment is welcoming and warm. Prices aren't extravagant and the food even manages to be pretty decent. Lunch time specials offer excellent value for money but are not exactly avant garde. Simple dishes, cooked well.

Loverly pub with a freindly atmosphere. I enjoy going with family because the food is good and value for money. The manager is always around making sure everyone is ok. and problems are fixed straight away.iv never had one. I'm looking forward to my next visited. Definitely would recommend this place to everyone.

We were at the Barton Arms for an after the ceremony(cremation) get together just before Christmas. The atmosphere was very cosy and buzzing but they had alocated us a section at the far end of the bar. We were well looked after even though it was a very busy Friday afternoon. The food buffet was plentiful and varied. The red wine my husband got for me was lovely. He just asked for a red wine do presumably it was the 'house ' wine .whatever it was very nice. In fact by the end of the afternoon we had all enjoyed it so much we felt like we had had a Christmas party rather than a wake. I really want to go again and take some friends. I wonder if you have to book for Sunday lunch? I must ring and find out.
H. S.
Lovely pub - the look and feel of it is really inviting and comfortable. Nice decor and clean. Great array of food and the staff are really friendly :) have been in a few times now.
K. T.
This pub is just ok. Nothing special. Ate there on New years Eve and the food was just about average, nothing special, pre prepared pub grub. Not all courses came together and service slow. Ok to call in while out for a walk though.
D. R.
Nice pub for a drink not tried food .dog friendly and plenty of doggy beer but unfortunately treats jar empty on this occasion....better luck nxt time Harley ...but you have put weight on lol... not overly welcoming on a sat evening
H. B.
Very busy with lots of empty tables that had reserved signs on. After a few laps of the place we found a spot to sit. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with chips and after waiting for a long time (they were busy so it's understandable) it arrived and i was pretty underwhelmed.
The sandwich looked like it was made from those sliced mini loafs; Inside there wasn't much pulled pork either. Luckily i had paid extra for chips over the normal crisps otherwise I'd have left hungry.
I've posted a photo next to a fork (for scale) so anyone reading can decide for themselves if they reckon it's a good buy or not.
Staff were fine, location was ok. Ambience and decor was good with a fireplace or two dotted around.
I'd not go out of my way to come back.

Usually really good service and food. But tonight we went in and the food and service was disappointing. Went in about 7pm, ordered nachos lasagne and yellow pepper pasta.
Had to go up and ask where the food was after waiting 40 mins just for the starter the nachos came out and were dry like they'd been left out all day and wernt crisply just like a rubber. The mains again waited 30mins after starter asked again how long it'll be. Came out about 5 mins later after asking. Lasagne was burnt barely edible. the pasta had chicken added as requested but it was all dry pasta and chicken was like rubber. And same with desert waited another 20-30 mins before having to ask again! How long it'll be it came out about 10mins later. It wasn't busy for the delay in service. Really disappointed didn't complain and ask for food to be replaced as we didn't want to wait for food again. Lady serving behind bar was nice, reading other reviews it seems like the later you go for food the worse it is. Always had good food and service during the day. Just really disappointed today
G. A.
2nd time here. Great food and a cheery waiter considering they were very busy.
Try the meat platter; one of the best we've ever tasted. Chorizo and salami plus thinly sliced ham were amazing.
J. M.
A lovely welcome outside and inside, fires were lit making it very cosy. Staff were brilliant and very helpful. Couldn't fault the food, will be back again soon!
K. K.
Hadn't been for ages cause the food used to take absolute ages to arrive but had a really good experience tonight so fingers crossed that will continue. And yes, food was lovely :)
S. W.
You really can't fault this place decent food decent drinks all for a good price
C. O.
Really nice pub with great food and fantastic staff (Ruth in particular) who are very friendly and do everything to make sure your food is right. Would definitely recommend lunch there.
L. T.
This pub is quite good although, I haven't had a meal here yet.
From first impressions, you could mistake this as a typical gastro chain pub serving a limited range of beers. Don't let that fool you. The range is large, I saw 4 ales on tap from where I was served and their signs listed another 4 or so ales on the side of the bar.
There are plenty of places to sit with a fire and dogs are welcome too.
I think a major positive is it position. I traveled there to meet with a friend who recently moved to the area. Access was easy for me with a good sized carpark. It sits next to a lot of flats and houses so can easily serve as a convienent local.
B. C.
Love the Barton arms, good quality pub grub. When you've finished your mains the Eton mess desert is to die for 🤤. Beautiful settings and the staff are great.
A. T.
A cosey yet stylish pub in the heart of Worsley Village. Great atmosphere with open fires and warm and friendly staff. Delicious menu options and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit!
D. M.
Can recommend the Hunters chicken.
C. L. F.
What a fantastic place to go. It is a little tucked away but it was a terrific find. The staff were welcoming, friendly and obviously understand the real meaning of 'customer service'. The place was very clean and the background music was a …

The atmosphere from friendly faces to fire places ,makes you feel right at home. Meall are definitely worth the price because they are of excellent quality !! The best thing about this place is that there is discounts that you can use …
K. N.
Called in for lunch excellent food and service
P. H.
Super evening, nice dinner
W. G.
Very relaxed atmosphere ideal for a nice chilled out drink with friends
P. F.
Nice interior and staff are welcoming. A pint will see you back around £4.5 and a small bowl of chips, although good quality, will hit £2.50, so not bad.
D. M.
The staff were polite and helpful and the food delicious. All four of us enjoyed it and would call again.
j. c.

Excellent 3 course lunch, prawn cocktail, cod chips & peas and apple pie & custard for 2 glass of wine and a pint of lager £28. Best pub food we have had for years.

Professional, reliable and honest. He provided me with a clear quote, arrived very promptly after I called him and completed the work to a very professional standard. I was very impressed with his services and would highly recommend. Thank You.
B. P.
This pub has gone from strength to strength over the past 12 months and I can only put it down to the new Management and Staff. 1st class service and friendly warm atmosphere ... give it a go . You won't be disappointed
S. T.
We have been there a couple of times now. Brilliant food great service and a very warm welcome. The atmosphere at a weekend is great. an overall great experience 👌👌👌
L.
I have dined here twice in the last couple of weeks and both times have been very enjoyable. Staff are friendly, food is good value for money and there is a lovely atmosphere.
S. W.
Been a number of times now. The food is good the layout and look of the place is great. Its dog friendly if your OK with that. It's a nice place to go with family
M. W.
Good food, nice modern now well established pub in Worsley village. Prices are slightly above average but suspect this is tactical to keep riff raff out. Can be busy at weekends.
M. W.
Excellent customer service and amazing food. The vegetarian menu was delicious and it's great to go to a place with a children menus that's been properly thought about and alot of effort gone into.
D. B.
Amazing pub! Lovely staff! Especially Kayleigh! Absolute asset to the team, great food along with great service! What more could you want! Will definately be back 👌
S. O.
Very decent pub and being an Ember Inn, you can benefit from the app (free G&T when you first sign up), the food is great for the price, and it's right next to the canal so great on a warm day to have a nice cooling pint, especially with the outdoor seating.
R. H.
What a nice country pub. Delicious lunch at really cheap prices. London Pride and Bombardier on tap. Lovely countryside setting around. Dont miss it if you are around!
R. B.
Good friendly staff and great food
T. W.
This place is where to go if you want good food and great night . Really enjoyed every visit , the food is lovely and not to expensive the staff are really friendly and helpful. Always great atmosphere would definitely recommend a visit .
M. H.
Even though it was mothers day and the pub was busy there wasn't that much of a wait, food was good staff where frendly place was clean. First time we have been there and we will be going back again. After our meal we had a nice walk along the canal which only a 2mins walk from the pub. 👍👍👍👍👍
N. S.
After a long walk on a Sunday morning this is a great place to stop for food and a drink. A real open fire to warm you up friendly staff. Lots of dog walkers in with their pets.
O. T.
Great pub they offer a pub quiz 2 times a week which is amazing. The food is great and they have veg options to the only downside is the parking as sometimes there’s not enough space to park
S. H.
Cracking pub, friendly staff, great food, reasonable priced, fantastic ambience, really clean & well presented. Went for a family meal about 15 of us and the staff were so accommodating, couldn’t do enough for us, I highly recommend The Barton Arms for anybody.
S. F.
Went for a late lunch on a Sunday, we were told by the waitress that there was no beef or gammon left, we placed our order and she came back to tell us that one of our orders couldn't be fulfilled as they had no pies left, she then stood with an inpatient look on her face whilst my friend had another look on the menu, feeling rushed and under pressure he placed his order. Two minutes later he went to the bar to change his order, the waitress tutted and walked away to tell the kitchen. The order was changed but the attitude ruined the occasion for us. We rarely come to The Barton Arms, usual if it's a special occasion, but we'll stick to the other pubs in the area next time.
T. G.
Came here last weekend with another 9 people food was spot on and very well priced. Happy staff that will go the extra mile for you 👍 be coming back many more times
