Came with friends for the 50% off pizza deal that Nell's is doing in January. Nice place with friendly staff. We ordered some pizza when we first arrived, which came out promptly and were tasty. The 22" pizzas are absolutely huge so would recommend sharing this between a few of you! We ordered a third pizza and more drinks but due to it being quite busy that night it took a long time to order at the bar, and then both food and drinks took a while to come out. Think the overall experience would have been better if we could have ordered pizza via the app too, and if they had all their drinks on the app (some were on their paper menu but not on the app so you had to go up to order anyway).

First time I've had Nell's pizza at the Beagle. Been here before when it was doing burritos etc and was always good. The pizzas are huge and we shared a 22" between 3 of us. We had one half meat and honey and the other with burrata on it. It's was delicious and plenty of toppings. Definitely go back and try some other flavours.

In short, great place with a good vibe and lots of seating. Very friendly and helpful servers. Pizza was absolutely delicious, best I've had in a while (see detailed review below) also absolutely massive for such a good price - leftovers brought back for a banging lunch today. Also a good selection of craft ales, cocktails etc. Can't believe this is my first time here. Thanks so much guys ! So I know there is competition between the classic Neapolitan pizza (e.g. Rudy's pizza or prove) and a new York style pizza like they serve here. Now I was somewhat on the fence but this place pushed me way over onto the side of New York. This pizza was exciting all the way through. A thin and fantastically crusty base with delicious marinara sauce, cheese and toppings. Neapolitan pizza has strict rules about what you can use for toppings and I say screw that ! This place uses a good mix of traditional and unorthodox (I like pineapple on pizza I'm sorry). The pizza comes in either 14inch or 22inch diameter. I recommend the 22inch which you can go half and half on which me and my partner did. An added bonus was the short wait time and affordable price.

Haven't tried the pizzas, but ate here several times before they changed the menu and it's always been excellent. Looks like they have regular offers on the pizzas and also do them by the slice. The range of drinks is excellent. Always have a dozen plus options for ales and lagers. The staff seem to know what they're selling as well, which isn't always the case in ale boozers. The staff are friendly, it's a nice setup (especially when the sun's out and the patio doors are open) and they've now got a rear beer garden if you prefer the shade or quiet. Only slight quibble is some of the pricing. Obviously it's a gentrified area, but they could do better on the costs of drinks. Appreciate it's been a very testing time for the trade, but a pint of cask ale shouldn't cost well over £4, and because lots of the keg beers they stock are stronger they can cost an arm and a leg. More options for people on lower incomes wood be really appreciated.

Great pub in Chorlton, one of our favourites. Good service and alcohol. Nice atmosphere. I don't think the pizzas are as good as my friends do to be honest, but the fact you can order by the slice is a game changer. Regularly stop by on dog walks.

Omg! The atmosphere, the selection of beers on tap, the FOOD (5*) and the staff. Every single inch of this establishment wowed me and I come from a marketing background and work in a pub/bar/hotel and I can assure you this is one to try. Massive Pizza by the slice or if your hungry go for a full one. They are really big though. Excellant craft beers good selection of wines . On the whole a good place to be even if it does get crowded. Also they have a happy hour serving drinks at reduced prices. I reckon this is when its really the busiest .

I could (and more or less do) eat at this place everyday. Do yourself a favour and try the “Do you Roni Honey” with the jalapeño lime dip or if you don’t eat meat the greens is stunning too. Come here all the time and never been disappointed. Staff are great drinks are great, also if you catch the quiz that’s super fun too:)

My partner took me here a few weeks ago and it has some of the most innovative vegan food I've tried in the Greater Manchester area. A particularly favourite being the oyster mushroom wings. They were 10/10 and I can't wait to go back and try the rest of their extensive vegan range.

Been comin to this place for years. Its always great food, the staff are friendly and make you feel very comfortable. They have a conservatory with comfy sofas and is very easy to while away an afternoon watching the rain outside. They also have a £5 lunch deal with wraps and chips. Both meat, veggie and vegan options available on it. The fried chicken is some of the best around.

Mixed bag A deliveroo order of the pizza that was met with pretty varied reception. My wife suggested a 5 out of 5 for the honey and pepperoni, whilst I thought the cheese and onion was basically inedible. My daughter didn't like the ham and pineapple (usually her favourite flavour). I will say the dough was really good, the crust being the favourite part for all of us, and it did have a great texture and mouthfeel. The spicy sausage pizza needed more cheese. My wife would happily re-order the pepperoni and honey pizza

Travelled here one evening because I love Common in the city, so the sister place must be good too. It is. I went for the taco plate (all 5!), and they were great quality, some better than others as expected, but very well made. The Cheeseburger Fries were great to share. Loads of them, and very tasty! My wife had the fried chicken which were massive, and she loved. The barbecue sauce that she got as a dip was top notch. Great beer selection, decent prices, family friendly, cosy.. Worth the trip to Chorlton!

The pizza's in this place are amazing. The pizza bases are wonderfully thin with great toppings. A 14 inch is good for one and 2i inch is good for 2 or more. The beer us great too. Booking is advised.

Great beer, good food and a nice atmosphere. There's always a good few beers on the bar. Especially liking the Deya arrival recently. Would love more of these special beer features in the future 👍 You can never go wrong with the chicken burger, especially if you get some fries and the amazing gravy they offer. Fried chicken and some other bits can get a bit on the salty side. Good selection of veg offerings if that's your thing also.

Great pizza, fast service and friendly staff. Tables can feel a little small - especially if you're eating. Tables can just about fit two 22in pizzas so be aware if you're a table of four and you order at once!

Nell's Pizza by the slice is ridiculously tasty, and the portions are massive. As they say, bigger than your head indeed. Most importantly, both the vegan and non-vegan options taste great, and it's awesome to grab a slice if you don't wanna feel guilty for having a full pizza :D It's not fully open at the moment due to COVID, but the beers there are usually excellent and they have very nice food, and lovely atmosphere. I look forward to going back when it's open fully.

I have been here 4 times over the past couple of months and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great, the staff are lovely and the menu has something for everyone. Additionally, I am vegan so it is nice to see more than just one option available for us. One thing that I really do like about the place is that there is no obnoxiously loud music blaring at all times... you can actually have a conversation with the people your meeting up with without losing your voice by the end of the evening.

Good range of breakfast / brunch options. I got the eggs Cali, which was okay! There wasn't anything specifically bad, nor particularly life changing, it was just fine. But menu did specify toasted muffins, and they weren't. The staff were nice, but food took a long time to arrive and we weren't told before hand about the wait time. Was reasonably priced, and my overall experience wasn't negative, but I feel it might be slightly overrated.

Wide ranging menu with many tasty offerings at reasonable prices. Ordering is at the bar but food arrives promptly and freshly prepared. Dog friendly. Had a Deliveroo from them this evening (support local businesses!) and it was honestly, stunning! I had the vegan bucket and my boyfriend had the chicken bucket. Both were so lovely and they haven't been short on the vegan bucket at all. Huge portions, gravy was amazing, chips were great. We will be ordering another lockdown takeaway again :)

Tacos here are always on point and have a really good beer selection the majority of the time. The staff are friendly and welcoming of dogs and normally happy to give you advice and free tasters on beers if undecided. Not the cheapest place but you're in chorlton. Have been here twice now and will definitely be going back again. The beagle are an inexpensive place to get good food and try different drinks. Would definitely recommend get a members card, it's free and gets you money of food on certain days and beer. We got buy one get one free burgers on Tuesday, and are considering going back one Thursday to try £1.50tacos. They have a good selection of gin and beer/ale too (very chorlton-esque) would definitely recommend, and have. Did I mention it is dog friendly too?!

Went with a friend a couple of weeks ago for a few drinks and had a great time. There's a huge selection of beers and Anneke on the bar was more than happy make recommendations - the Wild Beer Sourdough was a particular favourite. We stayed for food and I was definitely impressed with the number of vegetarian choices.

Great selection of ales and they do fantastic burgers and nachos, used to do free nachos while you wait but no longer. Great outdoors area next to the road and always packed with people so lots of atmosphere. Inside is a classy Mediterranean theme. Last time I went there wasn't too impressed with the vegetarian option but otherwise lovely.

Definitely one of our favourite local pubs/restaurants in the area. Hip, chill and laid back atmosphere, nice ambient patio. Good food with a menu that changes seasonally/monthly. Their jalepeno corn bread is too good! Great selection of drinks as well.

First time of visiting here though we had seen it before. Decided to go here for a change. Nice comfy & relaxed surroundings, liked the touch of the old 'school' chairs. Small menu but good choices. Also do a brunch menu until 3pm which looks inviting. Happy hour between 4 - 7 every day on pints, cocktails & bottles of wine. Order at the bar. We both had the beef barbacoa in a tortilla & a portion of fries between us, large glass of italian red & a Hogan's elderflower cider. I normally drink Old Mout which they didn't sell & the chap, behind the bar, who was very friendly & helpful, suggested this as an alternative. I would certainly recommend it, softer taste than Old Mout. Food came quickly with cutlery. Burritos were filled with huge amounts of beef & very filling! Fries were hot & tasty. We were asked a couple of times if everything was ok. I struggled to finish my burrito, it was delicious. Not many options on the desserts menu but hadn't got room anyway! Lovely experience. Will defo come here again.

Outside they have a great covered seating area and inside loads of space. Always pretty busy of a weekend, but nice and chilled in the week. Worth multiple visits, certainly.

Nice place. Great selection of drinks... beers, ales, wines, cocktails and decent selection of food... modern tex mex, burgers... decent value. Good layout as well with lots of different areas. Kids are allowed, but have to clear off by 8.00... which is good or bad thing depending on your view (we had kids on last visit so meant the evening finished early, but if you're with adult friends then no kids hanging about)

We don't frequent Chorlton, but we were drawn in and the place itself was lovely. The staff were great and drinks were good. We ordered and then realised that there were lots of people with dogs inside. We stayed and ate but it did leave me feeling uncomfortable. Whilst I appreciate people bring their pets out with them for a pint I think where you serve food they should be kept to the outdoors. Would possibly pop back for a drink if found myself in chorlton but wouldn't eat again. Solely on the basis I'm not a pet lover and I don't want to eat my meal with someone else's. Staff were great.

I’ve rated it lower than the average because I think the food and drink is ok but there are other places to try out in the area which deserve more kudos. It clearly a popular place and does decent drink and ok food. Where I sat initially was very dark but moved elsewhere once tables came available so I could see my food!

Craft beer focused pub n restaurant. Beer selection decent on cask and in bottle. Bunch of Keg beers too, though selection often a bit high abv focused. Opened as a beer food matching thing - which was great - but not enough call for it. Gone Mexican on the food now - we'll worth a try. Been twice recently and enjoyed it both times.

Great beer selection which you'd expect from somewhere associated with the Port Street Beer House. Delicious Mexican food, burgers and chicken is always popular here too. The best thing about this place is the outdoor seating which is comfortable and gets the sun late into the evening.

I came when it first opened and the food was very expensive and the atmosphere was a bit down, but the Mexican food is a great change for the Beagle - it really was delicious! I got a burrito from here and it was pretty good, the only thing that I would suggest doing differently is if people order guacamole as an extra you should put it inside the burrito rather than in a pot. That didn't really make any sense. I was happy with the generous amount of meat in it though

Yes, there is a Mexican style restaurant in Chorlton! The Beagle is a great little place to go and have a nice meal/ drink. The thing I like the most is not only does it have very friendly staff and a good beer selection, but the food is top notch. The Maple Bacon Burger is excellent along with the Chilli Beef Brisket. I advise all to go and give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Nice for brunch, tho unlimited brunch only lasts til 12. Pancakes are a bit bready and not very sweet. Owned by the people who own Common in the Northern Quarter which is really good, I'm sad their brunch skills haven't transferred.

A very Chorlton take on the owners other bars in the northern quarter, Common and Port Street. The Beagle has a brilliant selection of beers and a warm friendly atmosphere. It can get very family orientated on Sunday if you don't like that sort of thing it it's not the place for you, as I have found with some people. It doesn't bother me though.

I should really be giving this place 5 stars. As a pub it is superb, a wide array of taps and pumps, along with a large bottle fridge, ensures that there is something to suit anyone, and without fail everything is of superb quality. The menu is admittedly an anglicised tex-mex selection, however it is again done without fault or flaw, providing plentiful vegetarian and vegan options. The atmosphere is busy, but also welcoming and comfortable, making it an ideal place to spend a night. However it is also incredibly child friendly, and even at the packed weekends, half the tables are taken up with children enjoying a meal with their parents, and as I don't particularly like children, that costs them a star, but I'm happy to accept that others might view this as a boon. :)

Slap bang in the middle of Chorlton. The Beagle offers decent food and drinks in a decent setting. It's just decent! They've got a nice terrace outside where you can soak up the sun on a nice day with a refreshing cider. Last time I visited they had vendors from Manchester’s street food scene serving delicious grub.

A mere hop and a skip away from the burb's main transport links and with the credentials of the Northern Quarter's Port Street Beer House attached, you can see why Chorltonites and City Centre dwellers alike are letting The Beagle lead them to their ideal post-work evening. Its impressive outdoor area blends seamlessly into the bar itself when the large front doors are opened; something that's happening a lot in this uncharacteristic heatwave and something DesignMyNight were very grateful for when we settled in for a balmy teatime treat. Dubbed as 'a beer house with a dining room', The Beagle offers sumptuous surrounds with artwork peppered walls, rough 'n' ready exposed brickwork and perfectly polished dark wood. It's an eclectic mix of traditional and quirky but it works, and while its front terrace makes for the perfect suntrap in the summer months, you can see how the interior would be comfortingly cosy when those cold nights start to draw in. It's also proud of its dog-friendly status, and we couldn't help but coo and squee when (aptly enough) a tiny beagle puppy wandered through the bar (on a lead, of course). A variety of cushioned benches and booths line the walls with plentiful seating at the bar, alongside smaller tables set up with dining chairs. It all feels delightfully relaxed and homely. You'll find everyone in The Beagle from the aforementioned dog walkers to young urban professionals, yummy mummies to creatives with laptops... it offers something for everyone. It boasts live music, DJs, beer festivals, 'Meet the Brewer' events relating to their impressive array of craft beers, food nights and more. Keep an eye on their website for their latest goings-on. Another aspect of The Beagle adding weight to the idea of each visit feeling different is the fact that rather than a static food menu, a Guerilla Eats food vendor caters the place each week to provide seven days of deliciousness before another takes their place. Our visit took place during fried chicken week, and the descriptions on the temporary menu had us salivating before we'd even ordered anything. A staple buttermilk fried chicken base founded each dish, which would then become a burger or salad. The New Yorker with crispy maple bacon and cheese was a no brainer, and its £8 price tag seemed far too reasonable for a meal not only tantalisingly tasty but large in portion size. Fries and homemade coleslaw came as standard, and two burger orders come with a free side of BBQ nachos which were fresh, crisp and delightful. As would be expected from the folks behind PSBH, there's a veritable Beer Bible on offer with bottles from far and wide and some guest ales too. The cocktail menu is small, simple and striking, and our mojitos were amongst the best we've had in Manchester and a snip at £6 each. If you're a Chorlton-dweller, consider yourself lucky to have The Beagle within reach; if you're not, it's certainly a place worth travelling for (especially with those super quick trams as an option now). Can you think of anywhere else in Manchester that showcases street food as its main menu, and changes that menu so frequently? Every visit would be different, especially if you took it upon yourself to sample their entire roster of beers. While it's definitely one to look out for in the winter months, you should soak up as many rays as possible on their suntrap of a terrace now that you have the chance. We'll be back for some more Guerilla Eats, craft beers and tasty cocktails for sure.
