Lovely pub, we stopped here on a bike ride, the man on the bar was lovely and couldn't do enough, he was dashing around serving drinks, taking meal orders and serving them. We had the beef cobbler - very nice, and the Rudolph ale also a tasty ale.

Great food. 5 stars for the food. Best chicken burger ever. Food is great and fantastic value. Pub is a little worn out but I believe will be undergoing refurbishment. This is the only reason for not giving 5 stars at this present time.

Called in for the quiz last night and to take advantage of the 241 offers on main meals on offer at the moment. I ca no safely say I had the nicest steak I have had in a long time cooked to perfection. The staff are so friendly and hardworking I can highly recommend this pub.

Popped in for a coffee whilst out walking with friends on a lovely Spring day. The pub is light and airy. The coffee was lovely and hot. There is no shelter out the back anymore and only high seats (where there used to be benches) overlooking the old river Irwell. This wouldn't suit my mum, as she has mobility problems. Didn't sample the food, so can't comment on that.

Been in the Boat House for food a couple of times in the past few days and it was excellent on both occassions. The food was good and reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly and welcoming, they even allow dog walkers and have water bowls and treats set up at the front door for any dog visitors too.

The food was lovely, sat in the beer garden as wether was lovely and inside looked dark and dingy. The ale selection wasn't great and the beer didn't taste as nice as other places, but still drinkable. Would definately return.

Great to be back in the blind pig it's been a while since our last visit. Even better when we found Hellina was back, and different bar staff. We always found the staff there very friendly and helpful and the drinks a reasonably priced.The food is well presented and delicious so when you go try it, you'd be silly not to.

Great here we stayed whilst visiting family. Some rooms spacious and bed comfortable great bathroom and shower. Staff very friendly and helpful. Loved the food in the bar plenty of choice on the menu. Would definitely go back when in the area.

Probably the most cosmopolitan pub in Irlam and Cadishead where on sunny days you can take the whole family can't comment on the food as I only use it for a drink but as I usually use rough and ready pubs because they are cheaper i suggest you take a credit card as for the area it is quite dear

We went for Christmas Dinner here, the first time here, or anywhere. A nice experience, we were shown straight to our table, plenty big enough for four adults and two kids. Great atmosphere. The food and drinks were served as soon as we were comfortable. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Good quality, well cooked, tasty food. I would recommend you try it. You won't be disappointed. We will return throughout the year.

Feel I must leave a review, there was a very slight issue with our food order getting mixed up. We didn't really see this as a problem, but the fantastic staff went above and beyond to sort it out :) Mistakes can happen in any business and always will, it is how you deal with them that counts! I must say that the lad who served us was brilliant, polite and a credit to the boat house, and we will be returning in the very near future . Oh and food was great! Would highly recommend.

Lovely little spot hidden away, worth the drive. Food was excellent value for money (especially the kids meals) and there is an awesome play area for the kids. We sat outside as the weather was on our side, so cannot comment on inside as there is an outside bar where you can order drinks and food.

Saw it looked like an older family type boozer and so wasnt thinking good beers and food- was thinking posh nuked microwave meal and 2 old man ales at the bar. Turned out it had Beavertown on draft- great beer and the gammon and chips I had was cooked fresh and tasted very, very good. Extremely pleasant surprise. Really friendly crowd in the beer garden, very well kept and their social distancing table service was flawless. Would definitely return.

The pub itself has recently been refurbish and updated, the staff are always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed, you can go and enjoy some great food, watch sports events on one of the many screens, or just call in if you’re out walking the dog on a hot day, they have dog treats and water bowls at the door.

Nice place kids area outside, childs meal chic breast was over cooked sent that back. Then our burgers were over done dry as ever, like a hard rock didnt send these back as we had already waited long enough for the meal in the first place. Would go back for the pub but not for food.

Lovely Riverside pub great for a walk around the river then dinner and a pint, great facilities lovely beer garden in the sun also covered patio to protect from light rain/sunshade, interior decor very well kept, good selection of beers ect, food is very much pub grub reasonably priced and cooked to above standard fare, the service and staff are way above any bog standard pub, they really make you feel welcome with a smile and great eye contact, and also are very attentive without being annoying which can be a tricky balance that many establishments fail, but the staff here are fantastic, I will most definitely will be visiting again soon, and I would greatly recommend you give it a go too👍

The pub has just recently undergone a complete re furbishment and it looks stunning. It hosts a small wooden park for the kids out side that's surrounded by ample outdoor seating areas. Inside dogs are welcome and they offer dog bowls that can be filled with water from a dog station that also includes a veriaty of dog treats aswell for your pooch. Very good idea x we just went in the off chance for something to eat. However we went in a Sunday and the place was full to the rafters so I would highly recommend that if you are planning a weekend visit for food to book a table in advance. The staff are lovely and went all out to accommodate us and ensure that every aspect of our visit was a positive one.the food was absolutely amazing . Home cooked super fresh pub lunches and are very reasonably priced. We found the portion sizes were big aswell. The food arrived super hot and we just could not find fault in any of it. The whole visit was amazing and we will defo be returning in the very near future. Well done everyone at the boathouse. Keep up the amazing work that you all do and see you again very soon.

Had a lovely lamb roast dinner this afternoon. The lamb was so tender and the veg delicious. My husband had the mixed grill with all the trimmings. Staff very attentive. Would definitely go there again and would recommend the Boat House to all. Thank you for the lovely food and your hospitality xx

Not a bad local pub, really good for sports as they always have the game or fights one. I can’t speak for the food as I haven’t eaten here in a long time. They have a good selection of lagers on and sometimes have a guest ale on, but that can be hit of miss. This pub is in a great location but I think with a bit of money being spent on it could have a lot more potential.

Really good food, the quality is well beyond pub grub and is really well presented. Black pudding stack is the winner for me from the starters but the baked camembert looked amazing. Lamb shank that just fall of the bone, steak cooked to perfection and the Cumberland sausage was really tasty. And the refurb has really given this place a new lease of life. Will go back again soon.

I´ve been in this pub eating 3 - 4 times already, Although it´s not my first choice, the food is nice and the price is not expensive. I must say that the service is really slow... one of the times there we ordered some sundays roast and it took them almost an hour to bring us the food. After expending there so much time, we just reminded the waiter that we were still waiting and after 3 minutes we got the food. My guess is that they forgot it.

The best way to find this pub, travelling from Manchester, is to get on the old A57 (now B5320) Liverpool Road towards Warrington, driver through Irlam until you pass a Tesco Filling Station on the left, then take the 2nd left into Ferryhill Road (1st left is a No Entry). Follow your nose for about 1/3 mile through a housing estate. As you come to a dead end the pub is on the right. If you continue on foot through the dead end, you cross a dual carriageway, onto a path leading to Irlam Locks which were used by giant container ships on the Manchester Ship Canal in its heyday. The pub is in a great, out of the way location with a picturesque view at the rear, from a ground floor veranda, over a section of the River Irwell which was cut off to make a long lake, when the Manchester Ship Canal was built. Lunch, wide range on menu plus hot drinks, well cooked food with good service. Will visit again.

We had a family birthday at the Boat House. There we 24 family members. Each one of us said how lovely the food was , how it came out piping hot and how the staff went over and beyond our expectations to present the food on time for 24. I can’t thank them enough . We all had a lovely time. Thank you for making the night a success with all of us. We will definitely be back !
