Nice relaxing bar. Staff are friendly. A choir was there last Sunday evening was very nice. Been before on a Sunday evening didn't enjoy the music. Good cocktail deal every day. I thunk 4 or 5 until 7pm 2-4-1.

08/10/22: outstanding all round! Been here many times on Chorlton Ale Trails, however, not for some many years. Fantastic service, awesome selection of ales, welcoming staff, very dog friendly, spacious, cosy sofas and had a really relaxed vibe! High praise indeed for Font!

Met up with work friends/colleagues for cocktails because we've not seen each other for a while due to the pandemic. It was more about the company than the venue tbh but The Fonts a great local venue in Chorlton with great food. We'd had brunch elsewhere for some unknown reason & one of my friends ordered some food which they enjoyed. Made our way through most of the cocktails before deciding to move on after a few hours. Service was great, the ambience was chilled as ever & social distancing was observed by patrons & staff. We've already decided the next time we meet up for brunch, we'll start at here because the food served whilst we were drinking looked & smelt AMAZING!!! If you've never been here before, add it to your list , it's a must. Enjoy! 😉

Brilliant food and excellent service. Situated in a cool part of the city where you can forgive yourself for thinking you might be close to London's Camden Town when in fact you are only a short hop from Manchester City centre. Light, airy, cool interior and very well set out to meet Covid 19 stipulations. We tried the vegetarian sharing platter and (as two people who only been veggie for 10 days so far) were delighted at the range of flavours and wonderful combination of hot and cold food. I would kill for the recipe to the olive tapenade! Would definitely go again perhaps in the evening to allow chance for us to sample one (or many!) of the real ales on offer. A great experience.

Still very reliable. Best place to be for a breakfast and an early pint. Very good range of keg ales in particular, quick service, and it's always warm and smells great as the kitchen's upstairs. Can't really think of any major faults. There always seem to be staff in their off shift which can delay service and make waiting quite awkward, but little else to quibble about.

Friendly staff and great food. They have an App to order from table (with a generous loyalty system) Lots of happy hour options. Popular quiz on Tuesday nights. Dogs welcome (water and treats provided). It's open from 10am (pls double check) and their breakfast/brunch is super. The best poached eggs in Manchester!

The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is that the food is often over-seasoned; I don't mind spicy food but my partner doesn't care for it. This place keeps me coming back again and again. The beer selection is incredible: 8 cask beers and double that on draft. There are fridge fulls of bottles brimming with variety too. Always a nice atmosphere, the bar really comes into its own on summer nights when they can open the front out. As a bonus there is great food at a reasonable price!

This is a great bar selling very reasonably priced food and drinks. They sell decent low cost cocktails and have a number of real ales and craft beers available. There's a 25% discount on real ale for CAMRA members. They sell a good selection of good quality food. The place gets busy but the staff are friendly.

Lovely relaxed vibe. Soft lighting and comfy seating. Great wine selection. I was a regular patron of this venue when it was Iguana Bar and I always said that it would benefit from better lighting, more comfy seating, greater choice of wine, stocking craft beers and painting the ceiling white to make it less cavern-like. Font have done all that and made it very much more appealing in terms of alcohol selection and decor. I miss the live music though: Charlie Allen's acoustic showcases were phenomenal.

Have had breakfast and lunch here and the food was excellent. Some vegan choices. And all the food seemed freshly made and of very high quality. Breakfast a little overpriced, but so delicious that I didn't really mind. Free wi-fi. Lovely staff. Dog-friendly too. Would have been 5 stars if the option of bottomless tea/coffee had been available as it is elsewhere with brekky.

I recall telling the manager of this venue's previous incarnation, Iguana Bar, that in order to increase trade all he needed to do was get some nice squashy sofas, install fairy lights, paint the walls and ceiling a lighter colour and get some decent craft beers and wine in. He ignored my suggestions. Font, when they took over, did all of those things, and more, and have created a welcoming, comfortable bar with a great atmosphere and, most importantly, very comfy sofas. Having the whole front if the venue open onto the terrace is nice in the summer...unless smokers foul the air and it drifts inside, so my only gripe would be that smokers are compelled to go out of the back of the bar.

The font is a lovely place to be! The tunes are always amazing, the staff are funny and friendly, and it's the only bar in Chorlton with a good selection of non-alcoholic beers.

Wonderful bar with decent food and wide selection of draft and keg beers, along with Magic Rock always being available and a number of wonderfully comfortable chairs and couches to let you while the hours away. The kitchen is however an open one, and whilst providing a great floor show, occasionally strong smells, such as from grilling fish, will permeate the space that can be slightly off putting.

A firm favourite of mine in Chorlton, with excellent choice of draft on both ciders (my personal favourite) and beers, a huge range of imported and local bottles and a pretty good standard of food available. They have plenty of seating inside and out and is a perfect destination for a good drink come rain or shine, not to mention being dog friendly!

Excellent staff, but it's a pub, people would like to talk to each other. NOBODY CAN HEAR ANYBODY ALL NIGHT. EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING BECAUSE IVE BEEN TO CONCERTS QUIETER THAN THIS. No music is better than extremely loud Non-music damaging the hearing of customers, let alone your poor staff. A big group of us had to leave because even when asking for quieter music we couldn't hear a word when shouting at people next to us. PLEASE TURN THE MUSIC DOWN. YOUR STAFF DESERVE HEALTHY HEARING AND SO DO YOUR CUSTOMERS. This is my second time visiting and the second time a large group of us have had to leave because it was genuinely that unbearable. I must admit, I like the The Font for Beer, but am not convinced by the food. The food menu is limited and to be honest not that appealling to me, but, many people will like it for its Chorlton feel. It is a great meeting place for a mid week meet up with friends and throughly recommend that you give it a try.
