Reviews of The Footage
F. P.
Great place to watch football. The screens are not great, but the atmosphere is amazing.
The food is ok at best. Don’t expect top quality. They have a lot of assortment, best to get a few items and share with the table.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
C. S.
1st stop on our evening out on the town in Manchester pub hopping and food. Such a nice spot and the menu looks like it would be a good place to visit for brunch.
O. K.
Just a regular pub, deserts are okay but could be much better. You can deffinitely taste that cheap store taste in the waffles and donuts and they arent actually made in the pub. Thr milkshakes were very tasty though
L. W.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good food and quick drinks for brunch. Would recommend if you in Manchester!
J. 1.
Came here with a hen party on a Saturday afternoon for a bottomless brunch. Great atmosphere and cannot speak highly enough of the staff. Robin ensured we were always topped up on drinks and did everything possible to make our day as special as possible! Would definitely recommend!
B. W.
Had a great time a couple weeks ago. We booked a table for a large group of us and the service all day/night was great. Friendly and helpful staff. Becky and Roxy were our main servers. Top marks!!
B. S.
A lovely girl served me and some of our friends on Tuesday lunch time, didnt catch her name but she was so sweet and caring going the extra step to make sure we were all happy, atmosphere is nice and the food and drinks were amazing! Cheap and cheerful 😊 smoothies and donuts are delish 🤤
J. R.
Stunning old ex theatre/cinema hall. Fabulous selection of drinks and brilliant for sports
L. S.
Bottomless brunch was unbelievable, very generous with booze hence the smiles on these boyzies faces. Happy hubbies, tonights gonna be special. Becky I would give 10 stars too, she was very attentive and gave it 100%. Definitely recommend!
G. C.
Is what it says on the tin. Cheapish student bar with multiple big screens showing a variety of sports. Half decent and reasonably priced pub grub.
C. C.
Quiet atmosphere on a weekday, but very expensive drinks. There are cheaper places to go with the same atmosphere up the road and you'll save yourself some money
A. D.
Great place near the MMU, perfectly located for students to access. Couldn’t believe my ears when the bar server told me that two pints of beer were going to cost me £6! Apparently that’s a Tuesday night special I wasn’t aware of - but either way that’s fantastic. Great pool tables, loads of seating, great beer, I’ll be back next time I’m in Manchester!
S. r. H.
excellent service and a reasonable price. we went for a university social and had a fantastic time. Georgia was lovely. would definitely return.
S. L.
Really good chill place if you want to have a drink and play some pool
J. M.
Very lovely people. Great beer selection. Decent place to watch sport. Always great service. Xx
j.
The place has a great atmosphere. Lots of space, especially when they open the upstairs. They often show sports, you can find the schedule inside. There are also a few pool tables. The food is great, especially the burgers which come with fries (you can upgrade them to sweet potato, vegetarian etc) and the option to add an alcoholic drink is also cheap at £8.95.
d.
Decent pub, lots of TV's if u want sport & nice staff
O. L.
Great bottomless brunch!! The booze was flowing and the food was great. Becky was tremendous! Very courteous and super friendly!
E. H.
The decor is a bit dated and the toilets could do with an update. But the food is good and the drinks are a decent price.
L. L.
Great time here at footage. Becky was a brilliant host! So friendly and accommodating. Had a lovely time!
R. F.
Went on a weekend and was great experience. The staff were helpful in choosing the drinks for me.
m. h.
Went here for the world cup. Atmosphere was buzzing! Staff are friendly, burgers are good and standard beer. Beer was very expensive but this may have just been due to the world cup rather than their standard prices. I would definitely return here for a beer and a burger!
J. N.
Great service by all the staff; especially Sam, Roxy and Adam. Not to forget the super chef Ed!
E. A.
Great place. Amazing playlist and good vibes. Great choice of drinks and stuff going on all the time. Highly recommend.
C. M.
Such a wonderful place, very inviting and friendly staff
J. E.
What was once a beautiful Art Deco cinema building had a lot of potential, IF it were to be sympathetically renovated, restored and it's best features and flourishes flaunted. Those features still exist but the whole place is not at its best; instead it's a bog-standard student/sports bar with a fruit-fly infestation. A Wetherspoons in all but name.
(I haven't tried the food, so can't comment on that.)
A. B.
I’m a student , and this place or courtyard is where we go to meet up start drinking. Lovely atmosphere, pool tables and staff are always helpful. My only complaint is that they stop serving drinks at 11 on weekdays haha, great place :)
S. H.
Brilliant atmosphere, great food and lovely staff. Couldn't recommend the place enough.
W.
Top place to visit when sport is on TV. They have multiple screens that will play multiple games. Tonnes of places to sit, great staff and great old fashioned look to the place. Will come again!
O. N.
A magnificent place to enjoy a pint and relax xx
Extremely friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and a pleasant place to sit down for a drink!
D. K.
Good service but very quiet for a saturday night
T. B.
Becky made the best drink of my life and I like her style and her charisma and her intelligence:)
J. P.
Great range of beers, reasonable prices and fun atmosphere
R. A. F.
Great craft beer and they have some lovely vegan food :) cheap bevs on a Thursday as well
M. M.
Very enjoy the decoration and the food at the Footage. They have Wing Wednesday when chicken wings are only 25p each. Here is a bowl of £7.5.
A. E.
Really enjoyed our evening here. Good food and drink and a great atmosphere.
Went again and it was just as good👍
M. C.
Lovely staff, good prices, plenty of space would definitely recommend for a sports event!!!
K. K.
Friendly staff. Cheap drinks. Great place to watch the football
H. F.
Had a great time here!! Rachel was a lovely host for bottomless brunch
c. b.
Great staff, cracking beer and good atmosphere
R. R.
Great selection of beers and super friendly staff! Lively sports pub with events on during the week, would recommend for students :)
J. P.
We went to a Petcha Kutcha event, she about lack of drink choices upstairs though, put a dampener on it
R. F.
Chris served me a delicious toasty with great friendliness and hospitality. James and Jared at the bar were pleasant in conversation and gave me a refreshing drink to quench my thirst. Truly impeccable service at the Footage. I shall be returning for another undoubtably great experience.
E. H.
Good pub, amazing atmosphere with lots of good games on all the time
C. H.
Good food, cheap drinks and issue with order resolved quickly.
K. M.
Amazing ladies and such lovely service!! Would definitely go back.
10/10 and food was amazing x
P. K.
A great place to grab a pint and watch f1, football and play pool. would recommend.
D. C.
I came in to the footage with my dads, and had a great day out we played pool and cornhole the staff think they were called Rocky and Sam really looked after us and joined in- it was a proper laugh. The beer was good and will come here again, nice friendly pub with great staff
h. p. j.
DONT DO THE LUCKY DIP! It’s so bad lol
A. C.
Great staff, lovely pint, definitely recommend.
E. G.
Amazing staff, brilliant grogs, what a night!
M. H.
The footage is a place which communities form, predominantly that of students. It is an ideal location for people to enjoy oi the company together in a premise which offers a more than exemplary accommodation for its customers.
The sports they show add an enrichment to people's experience here and I am very glad to be a part of it.

Great night for my mates birthday! Fab service, super friendly :)
C. W.
Really chilled bar in Manchester. Nice atmosphere for students and they do cheap drink nights. Staff are really chatty and nice if you get talking to them.
When I was there , some rude customers were antagonising the bar staff and I felt bad for them.
But overall really nice place in manny for a drink and an atmosphere.
F. P.
Becky and Georgia served me and my friends. Lovely service and charming people. Would absolutely come again.
E. C.
Such a good atmosphere and drinks are great prices, Becky and Georgia are lovely!
A. T.
Really nice place to have a drink and play some pool ☺️☺️
E. R.
Georgia & Becky were really nice and engaging, they made me and my friends feel very welcome
Thanks footage
J. G.
Great atmosphere followed by great service and well priced drinks!!
Friendly funny staff that make ya want to stay !
Roxy really looked after us!
Will definitely be back !!
D. P.
Lazy Saturday in the Firkin enjoying the food, drinks and live football..chilled and relaxed.
E. R.
Lovely pub, great choice of beer and brilliant staff
E. M.
Amazing staff! Amazing service. Can’t wait to come next time :)
I. F.
Only had a beer and burger, grub brilliant atmosphere in pub superb
L.
Big spaces, friendly staff at this sports bar.
Went twice in 1 day
A. A.
The only place I want to spend my tuesday nights - feels like home x James and Becky are the loveliest
E. W.
Came in on Wednesday evening for tea and ordered the chicken wings. Great service and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Fantastic value, I will definitely return.
T. J.
Lovely chicken wings and club tropical ipa
L. K.
excellent pub great beer and they have some amazing offers on to
R. H. N.
Great place to study with amazing deals for students.
A bit pricy though.
E. L.
Good bar and fun games available including pool tables
J. F.
Bar with a good atmosphere. And plenty of screens for sports fans.
C. M.
An excellent watering hole whilst students away. With the free discount card, there is 20% off food and drink during August. Fantastic for the pub crawler or a regular who wants a quiet afternoon drink and/or a meal. Staff are friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit, even when busy I would think. Quiz nights on a regular basis too.
J. J.
As an outsider to the pub scene, I personally don't drink, I very much enjoyed footage. It's quite spacious and so doesn't feel cramped. The wide variety of food offered is very attractive, along with the weekly food specials, that are all very good.
Regular sporting events are shown.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant, and the service was excellent, if a little slow, but not impactful. Finally it is very well situated, easy to find and along the main road
T. F.
Good atmosphere and friendly staff, also really good pool tables and good prices :)
M. S.
Not sure about other stuff, so I'll talk about my experience with Pancake Thursday only. Do not go there for pancake. They're really not good. The worst place that makes pancake in my experience actually was good compared to this. Also, you get only pancake with the offer, no syrup. If you want syrup (duh), you need to pay 50p, which is the price of 2 pancakes! The amount of syrup you get is also a joke. It is not sufficient for even one pancake. Anyway, the place seems nice with big screens. So I gave it 3 stars because it isn't fair to judge a place by just one product or service. Also, the girl on the bar can actually be nicer, smile more, and say thanks. I don't think it's too difficult 😊
R. T.
Nice food , lots of vegan stuff x
N. L.
Pretty good craft beers on tap, really nice upstairs area with a pool table, arcade, sofas and a balcony. Certainly my favourite part of the bar to sit at. Many fun social times have been had here, and it's just a generally nice place to chill and do stuff with friends as the last stop after a day out.
A. S.
Just ok food... The sweet potato fries were crispy but the burgers were average in taste .. presentation wasn't great either. The bar tender was friendly but clueless about the drinks he had on offer!
Maybe worth for the students in the region for a quick bite or drink. Quite a shame really as the place has loads of character and could really become something special.
A.
Nice place, not the cheapest in the area but they always have a couple of interesting pints. Would definitely like to see some films on their big screen every now and then. Was surprised an old theatre called the footage never seems to show old movies. Would definitely bring customers in...
P. E.
Old show bar converted into a sports bar. Nice selection of drinks (with free samples on the ales!), decently priced bar food, plenty of seating available, and friendly staff. Clean toilets. Can be popular with students so don't expect a quiet drink. Handy location for shows at the Academy. Decent place, will visit again.
R. G. (.
Nice bar which I last visited about 20 years ago.
Bar clean and quiet, bar staff friendly and helpful. Good choice of drinks, food looked good value.
Toilets were in a state and could do with a clean/checks. Not a good sign at 7pm on a Monday
M. S.
It's a great place to watch football. Gets packed on big match days and there's usually a great atmosphere. Be warned, if you're going to watch a big match on a warm day, it gets REALLY hot - dress accordingly... Food and drink is good and is reasonably priced, by Manchester standards. Not the classiest pub, but one of my favourites
B. V.
Good old footage. Generally a great night out - good food, nice selection of beers, amazing night deals. Karaoke on Tuesdays is usually very good. Only staff seems very desinterested and doesn't help the long queues that start appearing as night progresses. Not only that but they ran out of wings 2 hours into wing Wednesday. Unacceptable.
D. P.
Bit soulless, but it was mid-afternoon. Beer was good though. Staff a bit disinterested.
A. E.
Good pub and great place to go watch sport with your mates with TVs everywhere. The pub is absolutely massive with an upstairs seating area over looking the bar below. The bar was busy, but then the rugby was on at the time so the whole pub was pretty packed. The food is good and the beer is reasonably priced.
Y. N.
Coming from Pakistan, the Footage will always have a special place in my heart considering it was the first bar that I've been to. It's a great place if you're a student and would like to nice and hearty place to hang around with friends. They have a lot of options, both in food and drinks as well as multiple screens so you can enjoy all the big games on a Champions League night under one roof. Additionally, they have a couple of indoor games too. The atmosphere's great as well as the seating.
Would highly recommend it.
I. D.
Cheap and cheerful..good place for food and footy and cheapish drinks
M. M.
I was served by ru who has a sensational head of hair and funkalicious dance moves. Will be back
I. C.
The 2 sam’s service was wonderful. However the wifi has issues connecting and the 4G isn’t the best!!! But service and food was lovely
A. T.
A very standard pub with slightly expensive prices.
PROS:
- lots of screens showing sports games
- couple of pool tables
- daily events/deals
CONS:
- a pint of Coors Light is £3.75 and other drinks are in that bracket of a bit too expensive
- food isn't that great and is also a bit pricey
- atmosphere is too loud for a chill catchup
- heavily student dominated (as a student, I know what we're like)
- no dartboard
P. L.
Lovely bar staff and tasty drinks
A. T.
Great craft beer and £3 on Thursdays! All sports on regularly too. Class gaff X
J. S.
I regularly go to the footage to watch the football and I'm never disappointed. Plenty of screens so I've always been able to find a good spot. The food is okay and up to a good enough standard. Not great but good.
Would recommend this place for watching sport and it has a different other event going on each day of the week (Monday:Quiz. Tuesday: Cheaper drinks etc.)
C. A.
Decent grub and friendly staff. Service was a little slow but it was super busy. Great deals every day of the week - recommend wing Sundays. Board games and live sports, plenty of tables about. Great for a casual group night. Good selection of alcohol, but a little on the expensive side.
C. T.
Staff seemed a little unfriendly, but the food was amazing.
R. C.
Amazing drinks, superb food.
The comedy night (XS malarkey) and quiz night are a few of my personal favourites however there are other themed night such as the board game days/mornings (flour and flagon) which are highly rated. A just go to if you are I the area for the evening!!
S. M.
Great vibes, really friendly staff too.
Had food which was excellent, I sat outside on the new furniture and also 2 pints of Carling for £3!
S. S.
Love watching football with hardcore fans ? Look no further as this place is covered with screens in every corner so that you don't miss any moment. Plus an awesome menu filled with delicious food and drinks. Pool tables are a plus on less crowded days.
J. L.
Very spacious wide bar with fantastic service, beer and food. Often gets busier in the event of a large game but usually has space to accommodate. The three pool tables and bar games make it fantastic for a lunch time game especially at £1 for a game of pool. No cashback is available but there is a free cash point inside.
R. R.
Reasonably priced drink and the God menu is diverse and cheap if you're eating with someone else. Bar staff are young and good at their job. Decor is ace, an old theatre, plenty of room upstairs too. Often gets VERY full, but the atmosphere is amazing during Freshers week and big events. Worth a trip for any self-respecting student ;)
M. H.
Good pub, good atmosphere, cheap beer. All good. Typical student place but ok for anyone. They do food which looked OK, but didn't eat. Interesting building, it's in an old cinema, the clue is in the name. It used to be the Flea and Firkin twenty odd years ago, it's much as I recall it.
E. M.
If you're a craft beer and sports lover then this is the place for you. They have multiple screens showing different sports and one huge screen for the main event showing. It's also a cool venue being in an old cinema. Only downside is it can be heavily populated by students due to the area it's in.
S.
Pub has a gigantic screen (1 of the biggest in Manchester)) and lots of smaller screens dotted around, making a great sport watching experience. Competitively priced beer and decent pub food with veggie options available. Good crowd, mixture of locals and students.
M. B.
Nice bar, popular enough for a decent atmosphere, cheap enough to drink comfortably. Affordable pitchers, well priced collection of beer. Karaoke was always a great time.
M.
I’ve been coming in this pub for over 12 years. Some things need sorting though, on busy match days it’s not rocket science, employ more staff, make more money. Sometimes the wait is 20/30 minutes?
This pub makes a serious amount of money, the fact that the main projector hasn’t been updated (you can barely see it) is ridiculous. The other projector isn’t even put on these days.
This is a great pub, but seriously guys, sort it out.
j. p.
Good choice of beers and food is cheap and tasty everytime. Staff are always dead sound especially the short one who can't reach the teas, Frankie I believe? Points system also leads to some big discounts as well so worth getting a rewards card.
b.
Friendly, helpful staff. Doing table service and operating a one way traffic system to conform to the Covid19 guidelines.
A great selection of beers and food at reasonable prices.
C. S.
Cheap drink, nice area. Lots of tv screens
T. R.
Good sized screens to watch sport, nice staff.
B. J. H.
Have really enjoyed this institution in the past. Solid food, nice atmosphere and quick service. A good range of dishes with an extensive vegan menu too. However, it's been disappointing in the past few visits with a new menu that was confusing. And last time I went there, I had to have a wait a while for my food.
I. v. d. M.
I had the monthly special burger which was a spicy chicken burger. It was juicy and flavorful but the fries were not very good. I also ordered a rhubarb cider. The bartender disappeared halfway through pouring my drink and didn't return for 10 minutes while I waited confused. He eventually returned and had forgotten about me and said that the cider had gone bad so I got a blackberry one instead which was decent but a bit too sweet. The bartender was apologetic of his mistake and gave me a coupon for a free burger the next time I come
L. H.
Came in on a rainy Wednesday after initially planning to go down the road to Deaf Institute for their vegan grub. However footage did not disappoint as they were plenty of vegan and veggie options on offer, the burger we had initially ordered was not available due to changing menus but staff were very apologetic and ensured we had an alternative - and this vegan jackfruit burger was very tasty. Also had a chocolate fudge cake for dessert which for the price was very good and came with ice cream too. I thought it was really good value, good atmosphere, really friendly staff and range of food options which is why I’d recommend to others and why I’m giving it 5/5.
E. H.
Decent enough pub, decent drink options and alright food - prices are as expected for a studenty bar though perhaps towards the expensive end (though normal end for everywhere else). Toilets are grim, but aren't they always. Staff are more or less all friendly and I've never seen any trouble.
Good place to go watch sport.
Only downside is the staff member who reckons they can tell me how to sit... Don't appreciate being told to 'sit up if you want to be in here' when slouching in a chair. What is this, primary school? You're getting my money, I'll sit how I see fit with my pint aye!
V. N.
I like this pub, i just relax here, read a book, drink a beer, meet friends, its great place 😊
R. B.
Amazing customer service, lovely atmosphere:) no food after nine pm though, defo got a bit too drunk because I hadn't eaten haha 😆
T.
Unique pub made out of an old cinema. Has a cool air about it and probably has some neat events based around it. Prices are average for the area in both billiards and drinks. Upstairs can be reserved for events.
L. H.
went on saturday with a few friends, it had such a nice environment & the staff were really pleasant and helpful, we got served by someone called chris & he was really approachable and easy to talk to.
A. S.
Great student bar, staff are really friendly. A staff member named chris was really helpful. 10/10
L. P.
Yellow card Pup, ran by and for the students. Popular discount card system and meal deals, with various themed nights such as Open Mic, Football, and a "Stock Exchange" for example.
The pub itself has a great atmosphere with a Mini-Arcade inside, a couple pool tables, lots of tables and fairly spacious. Large screens for sports, and a balcony which, whilst I've never seen open, would owe itself greatly for extremely popular / busy events.
A student pub, so student prices, and lots of students during term time. Much quieter during the summer it must be added.
M. L.
Good for large groups. Staff were really nice and accommodating.
Amazing choice of vegan dishes! I had the butternut squash mac and cheese: really tasty but quite a small portion.
C. A.
The recent refurbishment makes the world of difference. The burgers are tasty. At peak times, food arrives suspiciously fast. Great selection of very reasonably priced ales and craft beer. Lager now costs more than it used to which means it's not as cheap a night out as it was before.
J. B.
Great bevs, great staff, especially Jack
S. S.
With a great interior, this place is definitely worth a visit! They have a great range of beers, including some more obscure ones.
Was pleasantly surprised to find it was part of the chain that uses More cards to collect loyalty points!
T.
Usually crowded but not too expensive
A. J.
Really nice venue and very friendly staff
P. Z.
Pub itself is really nice, good selection of beers, food is ok - it's not a restaurant, but good luck for you of you try to book a table via phone or e-mail. No response whatsoever. I got promised somebody will contact me back to confirm my booking - didn't happen. I have sent at least 3 emails and silence. From this perspective - disappointed.
A. F.
Lovely calm atmosphere and great drinks!
P. W.
georgia is a gem!! thank you for the bobble!
S. O.
Karaoke on Tuesdays with discounted pitchers is the best, a lot of University Societies go just for that, then with the loyalty card and seating, definitely a strong 4/5, any other day it's a pretty okay pub that serves quite a bit of food
L. B.
Top bar 10/10 would drink again
E. K.
A bit generic, food not bad and some local beers on tap. A nice jukebox feature that let's you play songs from your phone. Overall just not one of the most exciting places to eat, but not bad for a nearby meal.
l. g.
Dog friendly and lovely atmosphere ❤
E. J.
Becky and Georgia, very friendly and helpful staff, great experience !!
A. M. M.
Nice student atmosphere for a good pint and some pool after lectures. It is a big place so it's a nice option if you are going with a large group of friends and it is a typical stop in any pub crawl through Oxford road.
A. L.
Located in the student area of Manchester, the clientele here actually is quite a mix. Previously a cinema house, it is now a bar serving pub food and drinks. The interior is nicely furnished in a hipster-esque manner with a pool table at one corner, a big screen projector above the main bar (for live sports and other entertainment) and plenty of tables for patrons to mingle around. There's also a loyalty card where you can accrue points for every pound spent there; great if you're a regular! Food wise, it's pretty good and I definitely enjoy the sharing platters!
K. M.
Great selection of drinks different prices. Student friendly (a coctail pitcher for £6 on Tuesdays) and they have loads of screens to show sports.
J.
The fact that it's and old cinema makes viewing sports a pleasure. The crowd is typically on the younger said and it's vibing. They often have good food deals going on which makes eating there light on the wallet. Where this pub falls flat is it's service. Often waiting 20-30 mins just to order on a semi-busy night and food taking an extremely long to come out.
I.
Very popular spacious bar ideal for watching live sports for students and locals. They have a selection of lagers on tap and in bottles.
They do trial draught lagers from independent breweries very week always best to sample before buy.
F. J.
Great night, lovely staff!
J. H.
Amazing service, really accommodating and friendly staff and a great atmosphere for live sport - would definitely recommend!
c. c.
Becky and James best bartender ever
C. K.
Chilled place to go for a beer or a burger, recently refurbished, relaxed atmosphere, ideal to watch football games or enjoy a drink.
Tuesday nights karaoke is on! Also had food just once which was decently priced
J. S.
Recently refurbished with an american diner style which is a marked improvement of how it was before. Good for watching sport and a pretty good selection of beers and an interestingly varied selection of good food on the menu (They do a gastro-pub take on a parmo!). Relatively studenty which is down to the area, but worth a visit regardless.
L. S.
Fab pub, Georgia was great
K. W.
Tasty cocktails, although staff seemed to overlook me and served others around me first
D. K.
Excellent pub, near the Manchester uni, brilliant for watching the football, however the price for pints is expensive compared to other pubs. No strongbow/thatchers on draught. Only magners original. Lol.... but still a great pub. Derby days can get rather packed.
C. M. (.
Good spot for a beer and live sports but food is terrible. Burgers were so burnt it was like trying to eat charcoals. They did replace on request but the replacement was no improvement. Left hungry.
M. H.
Excellent selection of craft beers bottled or tap; reasonably priced. Pool tables available, good chance of getting a table as long as it's not too busy.
J. M.
Great sports bar to hang out and watch the footie or the tennis - whatever is on. Love the wing wing deal on the menu! Get a footage card and build up some credit as well for freebies
J. E.
Plenty of space with an upper mezzanine level. Really nice student-y informal vibe to it. Pool tables for if you get bored.
The food is relatively good at pretty standard prices.
H. L.
Really nice atmosphere. Sat up on the top balcony to watch the rugby. Lots of drinks to choose from. The nachos are great.
K.
Only serving bottles at the moment and only just opened back up. It was dead. Place looks nice but nothing special. May pop back in when I'm about again but will not rush back in a hurry.

The Footage recently made the record books for the largest pub screen in the northern hemisphere; just one of the reasons that crowds flock in every day of the week. The building is an old theatre, with the top deck available for prime screen viewing, and for precariously tipping pints over the edge of the balcony onto unsuspecting victims below. Back on our frequent trips there on a Wednesday when they held the legendary quids the place was a hive of wild behaviour, with the text in screen the start of much jovial aggravation. Now that's Footage worth seeing.
L. B.
Footage is conveniently located on Oxford Road, prices are reasonable and the atmosphere during their screenings of all kinds of matches is very good. It has just been renovated and I haven't been since so I can't comment on whether things might have changed for the better or worse.
T. R.
It's a lovely building and does a 'beer and burger' spoons style menu aimed at the student crowd. The prices were decent and the chicken burger was actually tasty and fresh.
G. C.
Called for lunch after visiting manchester university open day.had 3 vegan options which was a bonus. Food lovely and reasonably priced. Well done on offering options for vegans which meant we could all eat together
T. G. D. -. R. X.
Great food however the portion sizes aren't the biggest compared to other places. I really like the aesthetic of the place it has a vintage yet modern appeal. The staff are also friendly and helpful.
S. D.
Georgia and Beckie, best barstaff ever
G. O.
Can't argue with the beer prices including real ales. And food is pretty good too. It used to be a dump but they have done a really nice renovation job.
You can watch the football here also.
T. B.
Efficient staff and reasonably priced drinks (beer and pitchers at least). Personally I find the huge open room often a little noisy (sound carries across it easily), but aside from that it's good.
E. N.
cheap and cheerful, good for sports
K. G.
Great night & great staff!
C. P.
The Footage is a bit of a bizarre one. It used to brilliant when they had really massive sofas, but now it just feels a bit like a tired student pub.
It does have really good sport screens and does shows the American football.
C. S.
Not happy came because of the 50% off food & drink deal with my( more) card, as everyone was talking about it. Not on as changes to menu , which conveniently come back on a 5 when deals over, usually I love footage but not a this moment.
T. R.
A large place, good for watching sport and socialising in large groups. Not as packed as other bars nearby which is good. Does all the drinks you might want and food is good
A. P.
Good place (retro) food great reasonably priced great alternative to Wetherspoons !
N. B.
Great chicken wings on a Wednesday for 25p. Decent food and beer for reasonable prices. Recommend as a good pub lunch. Lovely historic building.
L. S. (.
A popular student hangout. As an old cinema, they have massive screens for any of the big sporting events. Get down early if it's a big game day and you want a decent spot!
T. M.
Great experience. Great staff and great Match we watch there England 2 Germany 0
A. N.
I have been here to watch football matches, its a unique setting. Set inside an old cinema it still has alot of the period features intact, its got a student vibe to it.
Its walking distance from Oxford Road train station
E. C.
Lovely place with a nice atmosphere, well decorated for Christmas too. Not over the top or anything. Expensive for drinks but this is to be expected for Manchester.
E. H.
Very friendly staff who were very helpful with recommendations to what to eat. The angry fries were delicious
V. S.
Staff is not always friendly and sometimes they don't care but the food and drinks are ok, pools are always welcome.and there's a sporty vibe inside. Close to the unis so you'll see many students. Love they have blue moon
A. C.
This has come a long way since my student years. The place is a lot cleaner, no more people dancing on tables and the floor is no longer sticker. Really good for events and gatherings

A. O.
Food is good. However, there is no enough staff to clean the tables. Good place to watch sports but it can get really crowded and hot
C. B.
Warm, friendly welcome from the helpful team. Breakfast was on top form (peppered mushrooms-interesting). Only the toilets stopped a 5*.
B. C.
