Booked a table for 6 adults and 2 children. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. A young lady showed me to my table. Ordering food was quick and easy. When the food arrived it was well presented and piping hot. I had the beef lasagna and my husband had the sirloin steak. We was both very pleased. Would definitely recommend. Warm and welcoming atmosphere 😊

Lovely pub. Amazing beer garden with loads of room for kids to run wild with a lovely climbing frame swings and slides and food is delicious. We will be back again.

Nice play area out back for the kids. Not alot of choice on the menu and a bit expensive, but it is nice food . If booking in advance, maybe worth requesting exactly what you want to eat. Last time I did this I had hunters chicken which is not on the menu. The chocolate brownie is to die for, as small as it is, it is very fulling

Not the poshest of places , but fantastic home cooked food at great prices in a warm welcoming atmosphere. Plenty of parking spaces and an comfortable outside smoking area at the front which is a pleasent place to sit in good weather and a beer garden at the rear backing onto the canal , this is great for kids to play as it is fenced off from the canal

So service good, staff friendly and efficient,but food not very good rag pudding mostly suet and gravy, very little meat and what meat there was is mainly fatty mince,mushy peas has dry powder lumps in them horrible,chips were however excellent so overall will we be visiting again,no thanks.

Get a good size pub meal here beer prices are little on the high side for a local and you can feel like a gatecrasher at times as functions are held in the pub. Good for kids with a large beer garden with slides swings an room to run

Great place you get a mix of clientele with the large beer garden with swings and climbing frame for the kids to the front terrace were you can watch the world go by. Food here is good but I don't think it has the right atmosphere to be a place to eat.Then we get to the beer where you get a nice mix of ales and lagers but they do nail your hat on for it, the most expensive beer prices in Castleton.

Big place, plenty on offer, welcoming atmosphere. The food looked good even though I personally didn't eat. Have previously visited when party on and felt a little out of place. Visited this time for quiz which was very good.

Excellent. That 5oz steak was more like 8oz and beautiful. Wife says her cheese and onion pie is the best she has had in a long time. The Hopwood Arms is the venue for Rochdale And District Amateur Radio Society today and the pub staff are great hosts.
