Reviews of The Lost Dene
T. H.
Good pub to visit if there's a group of you for a few beers. Great setup for watching any football. Decent prices for a pint being in the town centre also the bar staff were always friendly. I will definitely call in for a pint again soon.
P.
Thursday lunchtime, friendly staff. Enjoyed the food and drink at a really affordable price under £10. Lasagne, chips extra and a pint of John Smith.
M. N.
Great place to have a drink. And they serve San Miguel so it gets my vote. The menu looks great and the offers they have are also great will go back to try the food Bar staff friendly enough. One down side toilets are up some very long stairs but when you do get to them they are the cleanest toilets I've seen in a very long time so it's worth the climb .
disabled toilets are on the grand floor
Can recommend this pub fantastic for sports as it as a number of TV all round the pub .
J. D.
Very clean pub and nicely decorated. Bar stocked a range of drinks at reasonable prices for the city centre. Only downside was the major crowding and lack of seating; there didn't seem to be enough staff to cater for the football match night. Staff were rushed off their feet by no fault of their own but were clearly determined to do their best. However, I would still recommend as I am sure service would be better on an average day.
G. H.
I don't think you can look anywhere in this pub without being able to see a TV.
Nice cheap spoons-esque menu and can order to table via app.
n. s.
One member of staff stood out more than the rest when it comes to providing great customer service and amazing attention to detail. You naturally gravitate to her warmth and genuine smile. Brilliant to see this type of service in a City Centre pub. Nicola well done I’ve told my friends to ask for you when they visit your pub.
L. L.
Been to the Lost Dene today Shan and Kelly were amazing. Very friendly. Very good prices on a Monday. Would travel from Stoke to here any day. Clean bar, great prices, friendly and welcoming. What more can you ask for. See you again soon ❤
I. H.
Reserved a table to watch the football. Very friendly and hospitable. Food was lovely. Great selection of beers and spirits. Served by Shan who was excellent. Very friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place 😊
E. W.
Great place for a drink, and great prices for the city centre too. Usually a great choice of beers, with various cask ales rotating as well as a few alcohol free options. Big thanks to Shan for her great service too!!
N. S.
The place is great with wonderful people handling it. Although I didn't eat much there, but would suggest to add something spicy or hot in their condiments box like chillii flakes or hot sauce
M. E. M.
Went there last Friday with my family, nice and clean, attentive staff that were wiling to give us a lovely evening.
One nig drawback was after its flashing lights and the music gets a lot louder!!! It seems to double up as a make shift nightclub sadly without warning 😢😢
Will be back again soon, always on our favourite pub to visit in Manchester
Thank you for a lovely Friday night xx
W. F.
Although 'just' a chain pub I can't fault the beer or the service. After a disappointing lunch elsewhere, The Lost Dene restored my faith in the hospitality sector. Well done!
Y. D.
Good choice of food and drinks, 5 small plates huge portions for £10 and 2 for 1 cocktails. Nice atmosphere watching the rugby!
R. B.
Excellent food and service, the bar manageress extremely helpful sorted all our needs when in a big party of ladies. Would highly recommend.
T. C.

M. D.
Come to this pub every time I am in the area, always good to see Bruce, he seems to be at work every visit! Always helpful and very knowledgeable about the cricket!
J. C.
Absolutely fantastic barmaid Shan and would definitely come back here, welcoming friendly and a credit to the pub were from Huddersfield and would most definitely travel back here if hospitality is provided in this scale made to feel welcome and a smile on their face. Thank you Shan.
S. L.
Had a great atmosphere and the scampi and chips 🍟 were delicious.
n. M.
Shan the bartender was lovely, she’s made her own Easter shots and they were so good!
S. L.
Cool pub, fun quiz on Thursday and good prices & offers throughout the week. Staff is friendly and helpful - Shan was great.
D. O.
Use this place when I'm in city centre , and I live locally, relaxing safe feeling about the place, great range of beers , staff always helpful , food does look good, plentiful, although I've never actually ate there, yeah great place.
M. W.
Great pub! Shan’s service was excellent, she was very helpful and polite
K. F.
Great pub, does food and drinks all reasonable prices, good atmosphere.
P. C.
Cheap for Manchester city centre £1.70 for a real ale plus live sport, multiple TV screens and learn from this other pubs, commentary played and not music played over the sport.
J. P.
Brilliant service, thanks to a hostess called Shan who found us a table for race day
P. T.
Brill little pub, good beer, friendly staff.
D. K.
Bartenders are awesome, really polite and understanding. But this place has an issue with bar hygiene such as cleaning down sides where customers are waiting/drinking and keeping the coffee machine clean. I've worked as barista fulltime in the past so i notice this stuff.
Get your cleaning up to par please.
Of course I'm gonna come again i like this place.
S. C.
Nice pub/bar friendly and helpful 👌
s. o.
met a lovely young man called Kieron. He was very nice even though we could tell he was very busy. Friendly service from our server Shannon who gave me her little card. Coming again for sure!
L. G.
The pub was okay and they had sports on the screens. The food wasn't great unfortunately.
A.
Too busy, for the amount of staff that were working, I had the mixed grill, totally inedible asked for the steak rare, and it came that tough I couldn't get my knife through it,the chicken breast was dry and again inedible they did however replace the whole meal which I commend them for doing, would i return, unfortunately not for food.......time of visit 18.00 P.M.
a. g.
Friendly staff, food ok , beer good!
R. D.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food and drink! Would definitely recommend

Lovely boozer . Quite quiet, perfect for a pre Albert Hall gig, bar staff great, fellow customers also great . No signs of drugheads. Enjoyable pre show sherbet
M. B.
Me and my sister visited this pub tonight being our first time in Manchester and we had a lovely time!!!! The staff made us feel so welcome. The love Tristan served us and he helped us choose some amazing cocktails and was just a lovely person in general! The manager Ryan was a delight also! He helped us out when Tristan was serving other staff! Also a special mention to the bouncer Jake! He made us feel so welcome and just made our night! Such a lovely place and would definitely return when in Manchester ❤️Xxxxx
M. P.
We had a lovely meal last friday , first time in The Lost Dean , everything was perfect , kelly served us and she couldnt have been more helpful , she was polite and really friendly , and all of us agreed we would return , hope kelly is working on our next visit 🙂
L. O.
Great service from a lady called Nicola, fantastic atmosphere. Great prices
P. A.
Great pub, wouldn't recommend getting served by the blonde girl, she is too stand-offish and looks down her nose at people.
j. w.
Loving pub quiz tonight with the amazing bar staff Shan, Rich and Tilda! Thanks guys x
S. T.
After a visit to the Lost Dene I can honestly say it was a terrific experience both the food and the following staff were terrific: Kelly Lisa Nicola and Shan nothing was to much trouble I highly recommend this bar for a great meal and atmosphere.. 😁😁😁

S. W.

E. T.
Good phone speed quiz on an Thursday. Won a £20 bar tab!
D. R.
Shan, what a women! Honestly one of the best servers to grace a pub - 10/10 recommend coming PURELY to be served, by SHAN!
N. G.
Good place for watching football in Manchester. Large dishes in terms of price
A. R.
Good stop gap whilst mooching about town, decent selection of drinks and not a bad pint.
D.

Very welcoming and friendly. Emily particularly helpful and friendly. Couldn't ask for more.
k. b.
Great service by Shan very welcoming and helpful thanks food was fantastic definitely be coming back 😋😊
T. K.
Got served by Shannon last Friday. Honesty such a kind-hearted and down to earth person. pours an excellent Guinness.
R. W.
Lots of Covid secure measures including incredibly pungent hand sanitiser! You can order using the app and there are lots of screens so you can watch the match of your choice.
R. W.
We always make sure to stop here for a drink when visiting Manchester. Lovely atmosphere. We were greeted at the door by Jordan who was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Outstanding service and a great selection of drinks too.
A. H.
Went in with my disabled partner on Thursday, there was a lovely girl on the bar called Shan, she went out of her way to help as much as she could with finding the best seating for my partner, will definitely be in again.
S. B.
Good value food and drinks prices, but the food was quite cold when we visited, which was a slight disappointment. TV's show sporting events , and there is a good range of drinks offers available.
M. w.
Great bar lovely people definitely be visiting again 😀 😊
c.

I. B.
Great vibe and Nicola was a great server.
A. D.
Shan was amazing!!! Great service, super friendly and welcoming.
M. N.
I loved it cause Man U were on live and they won. Any pub that can organise results like that get 5 stars from me.
L. B.
Great pub. Plenty of screens for sport
S. C. (. C.
Love this boozer! Shan was super helpful and accommodating.
D. W.
We to this bar last night and was so impressed with the Covid 19 safety measures in place. Went to several venues last night and this was the best. Not only were all the safety measures in place the bar staff were doing a fabulous job of looking after you and cleaning up . Felt really safe in here and will return soon.
D. E.
Popped in for lunch one afternoon midweek. Great place for a quick pint and something to eat off a huge menu. Equally good as a stop-off on a night out or somewhere to spend a few hours watching the match. It was just after 12pm when I was there so the weren't many people about but they've got a great selection behind the bar and the staff are really friendly friendly and helpful. Plenty of space to sit or stand so I imagine this place gets fairly busy in the evenings, given it's location right on the boundary between Spinningfields business district, Deansgate Locks and the City Centre proper.
B. M.
Nicola and the bar staff provide excellent service
A. W.
The night we were there they had a great band playing
E. B.
First night after lockdown. Lisa on the door was so accommodating. Unfortunately when we entered a couple took offence to my face mask exempt friend who had unfortunately forgotten her landyard. However, after showing Lisa the picture of her expert card on her phone Lisa understood the situation straight away and was very professional in the situation. Thank you Lisa for your support and great service.
p. b.
Another good pub in town
L. C.
Really like the place. The food menu is sort of typical for the most part. It’s a roomy place and gets really busy at times. Almost all of the bar staff are excellent and knowledgeable. A good place to spend a few hours. Would be even better if the football team you support would win 😩
d. c.
Nice pint of guinnes, lovely staff
A. L.
Really good food, I had cheeseburger and fries, loved it...really recommend the food.
S. M.
Had a few beers in here, and got chatting to other groups who were out who were very friendly, so the clientelle here seems to be good. It was quite busy on a Saturday night, but is a big old pub so plenty of places to sit or stand. Have been here a couple of times after the football and never had any trouble.
P. H.
The Lost Dene is one of my favourite pubs!! The staff are really friendly. Food is good too!!
D. S.
Didnt meet any uni deens here, must be a lie
I. H.
Great pub decent prices
T. A.
Went here Thursday 16th Shan on the bar was outstanding and gave perfect service, great experience
A. C.
Nice cosy pub very and friendly
w. w.
Shan and emily were fantastic, super friendly
k. b.
Went to the Lost Dene last weekend we started with lunch which was exceptionally good value with good drinks and great service. We were served by George who was polite and attentive and couldn't have done enough for us. We went again in the evening for more drinks and we were served again by George and Sophie who made a great team. Can't wait to return.
N. M.
Good pub, similar vibe but much better than wetherspoons
T. T.
Decent interior, good service. They weren't serving food or cocktails the day I visited which was a downer for me.
M. L.
This place is fantastic! We went in before attending a concert at the arena and found the service to be exceptional. We were served at the bar by George who was very polite and our food was brought to the table by Sophie who made every effort to ensure we were satisfied. Will be definitely be returning next time for a pre arena meal.
G. D.
Came in for a pint and a good bit of grub was severed by Shannon, well good!!
D. w.
Good food and good prices.
P.
Half decent pub average priced in a city centre location on Deansgate. The staff seemed friendly and although we didn't have any there seemed offers on certain drinks throughout the day.
Restrooms are upstairs not sure if there were disabled facilities
S. K.
Typical pub food right in the middle of Manchester. Food was ok. When I did ask for advice between two menu items ( twice) was was totally ignored and went with my gut. I got their pie and was good. The person who actually brought the food was quite pleasant and is the reason this is a four star not a three star review
I. M.
Nice pub
R. M.
Birthday celebrated here in delegated area, food supplied on request to guests.
A. t.
Nice bar, very friendly staff, reasonably priced drink
D. A.
Great multi-purpose pub on deansgate.
Have been in here on a number of occasions. The food is decent, the drinks selection is good. It's nearly always busy so the atmosphere is good.
There are quite a few screens for sport, but unless it's a major game then they are not intrusive or preventative for chatting and generally socialising.
Would definitely recommend.
C. H.
This place was packed for a Sunday, plenty of tvs everywhere for games. Food wise was a big disappointment, my friend wanted a mixed grill, they didn't have it, they had nothing on that section of the menu, then said they had no burgers either. Went back over to see if she wanted to have a roast, i then had to queue again for 10 mins after already queueing, whiles the guy served drinks to numerous people. The dinners came with no veg and just a load of cold peas! One dinner had 2 Yorkshire pudding & 1 only had 1. Not like the menu stating served in a half yorkshire.. The dessert can only be described as disgusting, heated profiteroles, watery stuff in middle instead of cream... Thank god it wasn't expensive.. I wouldn't rush there for food again! The atmosphere was fine & i would probably try it again for just drinks but definitely not food, massive menu but not much available & what we did recieve was just edible
D. G.
Popped in after seeing Shed seven gig. Decent enough boozer though don't think they needed Cricket on every TV , but I guess you have the option of watching sports with your beer.
Overall no reason to dislike the place .
L. P.
Awesome place for sport and food. Great value for food to share with friends (50 wings for £10!). Service was average, but should probably avoid ordering on local Match days (Any Manchester / local team playing). Drink offers are attractive!
N. C.
Kieran and Bruce made us feel so welcome great atmosphere and great service thanks.
I. B.
Despite walking past this pub for many years, as part of a 'social' afternoon out I finally went in last Saturday - as they had the cricket showing (there aren't many bars in Manchester which show it). I can happily say I was quite impressed.
I didn't eat there so the other food based reviews may be bang on, however I found the drinks to be reasonably priced, the place clean, open, plenty of places to sit, loads of screens for sports and the other drinkers at that point were good natured and the atmosphere was great.
I would certainly go back, perhaps not for a whole evening, but if having a couple of drinks in the afternoon then I would certainly go in again.
T. O. K.
Excellent great service lovley staff
L. K.
Great value, quality food and beer. Ventured in on a busy Saturday afternoon to be pleasantly surprised at what you get for your money. It's also a very cosy welcoming place to have a drink or two in and shows live sports if you like to watch them while you eat and drink. Excellent service from the bar staff and I would've happily stayed longer if I had the time.
J. L.
Great playlist, honestly, best music all night. Friendly staff, great range of drinks. It's a pub in the city centre. A bloody good one too.
L. C.
Great pub, great atmosphere. Tristan and jay were amazing and friendly!
g. r.
Just had a quick drink, not busy, but had to wipe my own table, struggled to order on app, friendly staff
R. L.
Great Pub, Great Atmosphere, Great to watch the match. Loads of screens. Recommended
J. H.
Great Mac and cheese with meatballs. So tasty
A. R.
Great pub to watch tye football in - loads of screens and booths if you book in advance.
l. l.
The service is fabulous and consistent I've been coming here for years they never failed to get my bangers and mash spot-on! I love to come here to watch the match when the season starts it's always clean nice crowd not too expensive I thoroughly recommend it my favourite pub in Manchester!
R. C.
Had a great experience with the football last night. Top staff, top service. Deffo recommend
n. l.
wonderful pub in the city centre with reasonably priced food and drinks. all staff are very friendly and welcoming. great atmosphere and wide range of music. will definitely be returning.
T.
We decided to jump into this pub to have a look at the CL final. From the outside and the décor it looks like a Wetherspoons’. Certainly has a similar sort of clientele.
Had a pint of Korev, a Cornish lager that I acquired a taste of over the few days. A good crowd in for the game, with many TVs and chances to watch the game.
Was a nice reasonably priced pint, in good company with everyone enjoying the game.
The kind of bar that is a must if you want to see some football, with a beer and some atmosphere.
K.
OK bar with OK range of beers and food. It's not a turn off but it wouldn't be my first choice when going out as well. Service is typical of Manchester. If you get a smile you're lucky.
N. “. M.
Nice local pub; not pretentious, not trendy. Only ever been in during the day. Very sports oriented. Prices are fair for city prices & food isnt anything fancy but good value.
R. S.
Ordered 5 plate sharing plank. Price was good as we got the saturday deal. We ordered: Onion rings - great. Chicken goujons - great. Crispy chicken wings - average. Nachos - sauce pile on one spot of the nachos making them soggy. No guacamole. Loaded chips - very small dollop of chicken on top of a handful of chips.
Amstel is flat and quite expensive. Staff happy to change, although unfortunately for another flat amstel.
Atmosphere was good.
M. E.
Lisa was excellent. Great service and would recommend. Thank you.
G. M.
Nice bar. We visited prior to see the proclaimers. Decided to have a whiskey. Bloody expensive. £14 for a double. Will return, but won't have a whiskey. We are in Manchester not London.
n. B.
Lovely pub, amazing service from staff and a good Thursday pub quiz
G. K.
Loved it , good food , good beer , nice atmosphere. Service could be bit quicker , but it was a football night . After demolishing 50 chicken wings with my friends I've forgot about the wait . . Highly recommended place !!
G. D.
Beer tastes off. Bogs are boiling. Food is mediocre. Saw a disabled guy struggling with the stairs which is 3 star entertainment in itself, which is all the stars that this place is getting.
I. K. (.
Came in for a quick lunch while visiting. Food was nice and hot, service was fab! Such nice cocktails too! Will definitely be back :-)
J. D.
Good football pub, getting quite pricey with drinks nowadays though
A. M.
Great bar nice atmosphere cheery staff
S. M.
Come to The Lost Dene every Tuesday for the Burger deal £6.49 and you get a drink! Would recommend the 3 way chicken burger it’s huge and delicious. Always great service, we like coming on Tuesday & Fridays because Sophie’s working & always has a chat with me and my partner, even apologies when it’s busy & it’s a quick natter. Ps since the refurb the refurb the toilets are so much better
C. M.
Great night great music
A. B.
Not a bad selection of beer. Nice environment and it was clean. What started as a quick pint turned in toa good 4 or 5 because of how friendly the place was.
T. L.
Always good in the Dene good bar staff loads of sports on a multitude of tv screens two or three different events can be on at the same time food available sited on Deansgate so right in the centre of Manchester and good selection of cask beers always well kept try it
j. w.
Love fish ginger sub &chips and friend had beef melt sub. Lovely pub. Bar lady lovely and very helpful.
c. c.
Saved us when we had no where to go for the euro final , great service, pub snacks , traditional city pub
D. W.
The staff really look after you here. All covid 19 rules followed. Had a meal last night and I can recommend the food too.
S. P.
Great place for after work drink prices ok and food was good for price paid... If you like sport more tv's than you can shake a stick at, even tables with your own TV on
D. T.
Really Good place music was good. Just a shame the majority of the staff let it down. It's like you have disturb them when you ask to be served. Sort this out and the place would get more stars
M. R.
Normal pub with average quality food and drinks that are fine. Quite good to watch sports, it may get overcrowded and noisy. Not bad.
W. W.
Shan and Emily are lovely lasses!
C. C.
Good place to watch sport on TV - lots of screens. Good choice of beers including real ales on tap. Reasonably priced for City Centre.
S. L. S.
Amazing food and drinks, I loved the place and the ambience (by the way, wonderful view to the famous gothic library), the live music band was amazing and the service, the best of all the pubs by far. Thanks, Agustin!
T. Y.
Service at the bar was good but the atmosphere let this place down. We only stayed for one drink as it felt a bit stale, not the Friday night atmosphere we were expecting.
P. P.
Always outstanding in their service delivery...
A. S.
Very impressed with a doorman called Remi. Remi attended to a gentleman who was physically unwell and required to attend A&E. The man did not want to go to A&E. Remi stayed with him for at least 25 minutes constantly advising him to go with the ambulance and assuring him that he would be ok. I'm sure that the man eventually agreed to go to A&E due to Remi's continued support. Well done Remi
D. W.
Great place with a good atmosphere. Plenty of seating available, service is good and drinks are reasonably priced. I would definitely go there again.
S. x.
Amazing staff pleasant and polite. Made me feel like a regular.
J. F.
This is as about the boggest standard old-style British pub that you're likely to find in the centre of Manchester these days and after the raucous nature of our previous stop on that night's outing that was rather welcome. We didn't stay too long but it seemed a decent place
S.
Lovely pub, lovely food, nice friendly staff, does gets pretty busy during sports games on the TVs, but it is a sports bar,
N. N.
Nice cosy pub that offers good food at a very reasonable price as well. Situated in the high street in Manchester. Convenient for quick lunches. Staff was good too
S. C.
Went for a couple of drinks after work had a problem with carling but didn't mind Amstel £3.75 toilets clean quite busy but was Friday evening and staff were great can charge phone via plug or USB Ports which was helpful
J. F.
Modern lively pub popular with sports fans
A. H.
Great pub with all kinds of people in there, spacious, large, clean and really good customer service, the food is very good value for money as well
J.
Lovely city centre pub with lots of seating and a good variety of beers to choose from.
Defo worth a visit
S.
Izzy was sweet and awesome
J. K.
Fast and efficient service with a smile, made me feel at ease. Best pub in MCR. Shoutout to Harriet the lovely bar maid for going that extra mile, thankyou :)
A. B.
Enjoyed sitting, drinking and socialising in here one Saturday night.
M. B.
Nice atmosphere, and the food deal was great! 6.99 £ for a burger, fries and a drink. And it tasted great
R. W.
just had beautiful beer battered fish and chips. served by great staff with a really good pint. such good value .
B. B.
It's a good old fashioned pub. Quite big, so not cozy, but good for after work drinks if you want to avoid pretentiousness
G. T.
Good service and friendly atmosphere, drinks reasonably priced and food menu looked good. Fab olde world boozer with original features
M. B.
