A warm welcome from all the staff, who have adapted to the restrictions they face so well. I felt totally safe and all the necessary safety measures had been attended to. The menu is quite extensive and reasonably priced. I particularly enjoyed their special burger 'The Archer Big Boy'. Just a note there is a free municipal car park right outside but you have to still display a ticket.

Last week was our first time we came to that good restaurant. But It is definitely not the last time. We had a good time with the excellent service, with the great food and booze and with the honest price. We will definitely go back there in a short time.

We visited here yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The bar staff were very friendly and we were served promptly. There were a fair few in and a decent atmosphere was evident. We ordered food and were delighted when it arrived. The presentation was first class! Fish and chips came in a small 'frying basket', a take on the larger ones seen in chippys. Newspaper was also on show, very authentic and clever. We also ordered cheese and onion pie, which along with the chips, was homemade. There was plenty of tasty cheese and the pastry was well cooked. All the food was hot and lovely and tasty. When we were served the food, we were asked if we would like drinks brought to our table - a great touch, most unusual for an English pub. The meals we chose were £12 for both -fantastic value. Food can be ordered until 6.45 on Fridays, but times vary on other nights. Thursday is steak night and I'm sure that would be worth a visit too. A big thank you and we will be back very soon.

Im updating my review under the circumstances.... i regularly visit the Archer and since the reopening of pubs and resteraunts, have been twice. Its a booking only pub at busy times and very safe. Perspex and hand gel everywhere. Strict rules to stay sat at designated table, even for the kids. Exceptions... goin toilet or nipping out for a cigarette. Very impressed guys 👍🏻

Not the biggest pub in the world but that just adds to its charm. Went for the quiz night which occurs every wednesday. Has a reasonable selection of drinks including the J.W. Lees range of draught ales.

Buffet suggestion for private functions. See through ridged plastic food covers placed over sandwiches would keep them from drying out. Sandwich selection good, coffee poor.
