Literally, the best pub in Atherton if not the North-West. Live acts on every Friday. Home cooked food that is smoked on-site and served daily until midnight. Real ales. Widest selection of spirits in town. Dog friendly. Family friendly in the day. Cocktails. There's definitely something for everyone

Had a very nice pint of 'Quench' served by a friendly smiling barmaid. Would recommend. Nice place for a relaxing afternoon pint on a rainy day. Nice music especially Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys 🙂🙂

Went through a rough patch but things are on the up. New ales every week as well as regular favourites. Can see constant improvement. Really lovely, friendly staff too

A cosy locals bar in Atherton tucked away in the town centre with a nice range of real ales and friendly staff. It even has a pinball machine and bright conservatory. A pleasant place to be for a chat with friends and pint.

Changed hands since I was last in here. The decor is more akin to a wine bar but tasteful. The pool table and dartboard look top notch and there is now the addition of a pinball machine. The beers are typical moorehouses, with the ipa being a welcome addition. Oddest addition to the drinks repertoire was collider. A cider/cola combo which my son tried. It tasted like coke with vinegar if I'm honest. Overall, still a great local. Surprisingly empty on a Saturday afternoon.

Just had an amazing Mother’s Day Sunday lunch with my daughter and little dog, food was fresh and tasty, they even gave my dog a bowl of chicken! Friendly, efficient service, fab prices and great atmosphere, will 100% be back soon.

Pre COVID "As always, a good selection of ales,and well kept. Reasonably priced too!! A really good pub. My only criticism is the music does get too loud at busy times, also it is a real shame they don't serve food in the evenings otherwise I would go there more often. 👍".... UPDATE. had a bit of in internal update and change of management, but less choice if beers. I only called in for one pint, but it was not great. It wasn't exactly off, but it was slightly cloudy and tasted as if it was past it's best. 😏

In its previous life this was a really well run pub... but now! .. staff (in December) all appeared to be training each other... Unable to find the right glasses, work the till, find the Gin bottle etc .. Hopefully will improve

Great little pub, hidden away down an alleyway off the main drag. There is usually a good selection of real ales on offer, and the service is great. If you prefer a quiet drink then go midweek, otherwise go at the weekend for a more lively atmosphere.

The finest selection of Moorhouses & guest real ales, bottled beers from the UK, continent and beyond. Nice food, presented with more than a little humour. My menu recommendation is to try 'The Best of the Würst' but there is lots of choice. A great team, led by the Queen of Atherton, Janet. This pub is small and certainly not 'Peas above Sticks' but really is a little gem. Everyone leaves happy and never disappointed. 😀

Always was the most genteel pub in Atherton and, following the sad decline of Old Isaacs, the only place in Chow Bent serving quality cask ales. Food very good during the day. Nice place to be able to hear yourself drink! Five Stars.
