Reviews of The Salisbury
C. B.
Wow...really cool pub. Real ales, loud heavy rock music. You are out of place if you haven't got tats, black dyed hair....or ginger! Huge great boots buckles, chains and zips !! I didn't have any of the above...but loved it!! Such a good vibe. And the real ales, especially "Trooper" are excellent...
L. D.
Fantastic pub. I honestly loved it here. The fact you serve pizza right up until 11pm is genius, great music and vibe.
The only downside was that we paid full price for £30 worth of pizza then sat down and saw the flyer about 25% off with gig tickets. The girl behind the bar said she couldn't do anything about it as we'd already paid. Maybe some clearer promotion on that would be helpful, we could have saved £7/£8. 😔
D. S.
Good staff. If you like rock/metal then it's great. If not just enjoy the beer and pizza
m. e.
A very nice pub just off Oxford road in the centre of town, real ales and friendly service
T. R.
Is this the perfect pub? It is if you like real ales, rock music and pizza. Friendly service. Fine selection of ales with a rock soundtrack. Every town / city needs a pub as good as this!
J. P.
A great traditional pub. Good selection of real ales alongside other drinks. Don't expect gastro pup meals (but a good selection of pizzas). Wonderfully old-fashioned pub decor (if you can call it that) but people from all walks of life contentedly rub shoulders here. I first drank here 30 years ago and I don't think it's changed at all. Long may it continue!
J. S.
Lovely pub. Look after their beer really. Staff are always lovely. A safe bet if you want a decent pint on cask
J. M.
Great pub, book tables in advance, has beer garden, great range of drinks, you can order pizza. Toilets available, Juke box, great music, lovely people.
A. N.
My fave pub in Manchester. Great choice of beers tasty pizza and all discounted if you are going to gig . And super friendly efficient bar staff 😁🍺
S. G.
A belting pub.
Very good atmosphere.
Rock music vibe.
Bar staff were brilliant.
10% off drinks when you show your gig ticket for that night.
✌🏻😎
D. H.
Fantastic pub , great jukebox, brilliant smoking area only thing I didn't like was you paid for drinks with credit card???
L. M.
Staff ID’d a 36 year old (I get it’s your job but grow up)
Customers are even worse. Sat at a table for 20 minutes and didn’t notice some self entitled Tory left his fisherman’s jacket on an unused chair and belched “I’M SAT HERE LADS, SORRY” - no, I’m sorry mate, on your feet, lose your seat
C. E.
Love this pub, best music, great beer and most awesome staff
T. P.
This is perhaps not for everyone, but I loved it. It's a proper pub, with a rock backtrack. A lot of pubs could take a leaf out of their book and focus on the ambience rather than the latest trends. Good beer that's well kept, rather than a bucket of ice with some fruit flavoured chemicals.
H. B.
Legendary pub, one of the oldest in Manchester. Great selection of beer. Always busy, very convenient for Oxford Road railway station.
Priced at the higher end, sadly the interior is a little shabby - but as this place has the bulldozers ready to demolish it, you can forgive the owners being rather reluctant to spend any money!
A. B.
Good atmosphere nice pint Guinness. We visited has a group of work colleagues and we all thoroughly enjoyed a game of pool. Reasonably priced beer for the area clean warm and welcoming.
T. H.
Hidden in one of the back streets off Oxford Road this traditional Rock Themed pub is well worth calling in to for a couple of beers. Friendly bar staff warm atmosphere would definitely recommend a visit.
T. W.
Good pub with some decent hand pulled beers and a rock jukebox. Shame it's nothing like as busy as it used to be.
T.
Great beers, great music and nice atmosphere, brilliant pub
S. C.
If you haven't been to the Salisbury yet you're either not from Manchester or not a fan of rock music.
It's the local haunt for most rock fans and provides a really nice, chill, genuine pub vibe.
Juke box? Plays mostly rock, from Green Day to Slayer it depends who's paying. Never anything poo though.
Beers are always pretty spot on: Trooper, Guinness, a selection of IPAs and other stuff.
Staff are nice, and they do pizza's which are really good too (I'd recommend the chicken tikka one).
The only downside is that the place would be absolutely PACKED on busy nights.
N. W.
Nice pub, decent ale, good, friendly service. CAMRA discount available. They don't sell Watneys Red Barrel (thankfully)
W. W. G. W. D. N. E.
Great pub, fantastic interior and atmosphere. Great for pre-gig. Pints are a little pricey but this might just be Manchester.
V. C.
Great pub tucked away in the old Irish quarter. Great selection of beers, spirits and wines. Serve a variety of bar snacks and delicious sounding pies. Staff are friendly and so are the patrons, felt like a pub you could come on your own and before long you could starting speaking to some one new.
Great feacture is the wide variety duke box with music for every taste as long as you like alternative music.
J.
Great pub, good choice of drinks and rocking music
L. P.
I fell out of the pub and the bouncer didn't laugh at me too much. What a nice place.
A. T.
Great atmosphere, a must place for a pre gig drink, duke box is awesome
G. H.
Love this place. The pizzas are simple but absolutely epic and I'd go there just for those alone. Tasty as hell. They serve a swift and good drink and the pub has a great atmosphere and great tunes.
P. D.
Great pub. Nice staff
B. E.
Go here. Great pub. Massive beer selection. Fabulous juxtaposition of rock/metal musical background against classical episodes of Bullseye on the TV - just wait till a landlocked couple from Nottingham win a jet ski.
H. F.
Great bar, friendly staff, and good offers for academy ticket holders
K. J.
Always head straight to this bar when I come to Manchester. Rock music and great times
G. S.
Rocking atmosphere - great place to stop of for a quick pint before the train, I would have loved to stay longer if I could though!
S. B.
Excellent place to visit for a great beer to great staff
A. H.
Great proper pub with a tendency to attract those who prefer rock music.
D. P.
Very nice place, good music, good vibes, friendly personnel, great atmosphere! 😎
D. G.
Busy real ale pub. Popular with alternative crowd. Really good beer. Plenty of bar staff all trying hard. Good service all round. Pool table. Bit tricky to get too if disabled. Down a steep cobbled slope. Staff are great, LGBTQ+ friendly.
s. d.
When did you start doing Pizza? I would have gotten one if we had stayed long enough!!
J.
Great music, nice people and good beer.
p. r.
Great gathering or rock type people! Makes me happy that this place is staying strong and busy
M. F.
Great real ale. Discounts for gig goers and Camra members. Brilliant Dukebox and insane (but safe and friendly) clientele
C. W.
My favourite place to go for a nice ale and good metal/rock tunes Great pre Post gig meetup venue too
M. R.
Brilliant pub with decent selection of drinks and amazing home cooked pizza. The atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly
P. J.
Really good little rock bar. Loud jukebox and plenty of choice when it comes to guest beers.
G. E.
Great pub, friendly staff, great selection of lagers and ales.
R. S.
I had a great night in the Salisbury. Started at 17:30 and left at 02:00. The metal/rock tunes on the jukebox were excellent.
No booking was required, although we had booked a table. Table service was in operation, which was prompt.
The staff were really friendly and the pizza on offer was scrumptious!
I have been going in the Salisbury for over thirty years and it is a classic pub on the Manchester rock/metal scene. It has a friendly vibe where bikers mix with business people finishing work. Definitely worth a visit.🤘🔥🤘
L. C.
I love the atmosphere, the music, the best pub in Manchester
J. C.
Great music and staff. Good place for all ages.
T. W.
Love the atmosphere and music in here. That it's right at the train station too means it's so easy to get to even if you just fancy a couple and then go home again! Friendly and efficient service too
M. M.
Awesome place for 'alternative' people. Absolute banger's on the jukebox, good atmosphere and good prices for the centre of town. Friendly and helpful staff, they really make you feel welcome. Highly recommended.
P. P.
Great beer selection, decent rock/metal music and the pizza is genuinely fantastic!
S. I.
Great bar, great music, great atmosphere. Seems to attract an older crowd, at least when I was here, but it's great to spend a good evening for anyone.
M. C.
Great Grunge/rock, Heavy Metal bar
P. A.
Good cold Heineken in a hot day. That's what I need
P. H.
Scruffy loud rock pub , good pint great clientele
D. G.
Not been for an absolute age but still the great pub it always has been, shame we couldn't stay longer but we were off to a gig.
A. G.
Fantastic pub, great music and a welcoming atmosphere 👍
J. x.
Still one of the best rock/metal bars in Manchester, I've been coming here since 1993! Always have a good selection of real ales .
R. A.
Rock music galore and a decent pint.
A. H.
Brilliant pub been there a few times but surprisingly a family pub so if you want the children to be like you as rockers feel free to bring them in. Brilliant staff lovely service
J. B.
Really really enjoyed my time here, the staff are amazing, the pizza was surprisingly very good and they even give free pizza away at the end of the night!
J. M.
Great pub been here a bunch. Jukebox is always a hit
d. d.
Great pub great staff and a great jukebox
M. L.
Good range of beers, friendly staff and a good old pizza too.
S. K.
Friendly.. lovely pizza and domesticated pool ..lol
A. M.
Good selection of beers. Nice staff.
R. T.
Great old style pub, with lots of pop memorabilia on the walls and great staff. Set back off Oxford Road it feels like a step back in time.
C. E.
Good range of beers. Stays open late
M. S.
Good ales, convenient before gigs at O2 Ritz Manchester
P. D.
Love this establishment. Always a must when I go to Manchester giggng it.🍻🍻
T. B.
Real rock pub, great on gig nights
P.
Only one gripe. The wooden seats could do with a foot rest.
N. S.
Great vibe with some really good punk on Friday night
J. M.
Good rock pub, open late, about 5 real ales (craft beers) on cask tap and excellent service.
J. G.
Good metal pub. Plenty of real ales.
c. w.
Tip top bar! Went on a Friday for the metal and the vibes and wasn't disappointed.
Be patient at the bar -they are doing their best!
e. f.
Really unique place, good music
M.
A fantastic selection of hand pump beers, great juke box and a great atmosphere.
J. F.
Decent traditional pub with good drink choice.
T. H.
Fantastic atmosphere lovely hand pulled ale and a super music related theme.
S. “. b. B.
Love this place. Staff very busy with table service though so had to wait a while to be served bit hopefully this will get better.
Staff are amazing as always and whoever deals with the email bookings is an absolute star
M. H.
Excellent outdoor seating. Excellent staff. Quality ales and beers to choose from.
Located ideally for Manchester Oxford Road train station.
R. H.
Great pub! Staff always really friendly and helpful. Good selection of drinks and also offer bar snacks (although I'm yet to try any) can get really cramped at the weekends as it gets so busy but it's got such a good feel to it that you don't really feel uncomfortable. There's a smoking area with seats under shelter. The decor is nice and it's always clean. Can't fault the place.
D. S.
I went here for the Manchester Bowling for Soup meet and greet. Decent venue. Decent pub. Lovely staff. Decent music. Decent prices and easy location just outside Manchester Oxford Road station. They had an awesome jukebox. If you are a rock and metal fan. This is perfect. Visit this cracker of a pub!!
D. P.
Top place, trooper on tap and a great jukebox
C. J. (. D.
I haunt this place mainly out of nostalgia and wistful longing that people I remember will just manifest there leading to adventure and jolly scapes. It's only ever just me though. The draught is always icy and the staff are quick and polite, what it's lost in character, it keeps in the juke box and I hope I never see it close down in my lifetime
G. H.
Lovely pub but very busy. Got served fairly quickly though and Guinness was spot on.
O.
Like this place, real ale, smoking area/beer garden, reasonable prices (for town), good atmosphere, tucked away near Oxford Road train station.
A. G.
Great beer, great music (if a metalhead)
T. B.
Don't want to give a low rating as I've always loved this place but the bar staff were terrible yesterday evening (barring the guy with glasses who was fine) The other two were much more interested in chatting and using the jukebox than serving. When I used the jukebox which had 50 credits on it, I put on 5 songs as I had intended to pay for that many, and was told twice to not use all the credit and to let others have a go before then watching them completely dominate the thing with their own songs. I'll be back cos the place is great but that left me very irritated.
J. R.
Legend of a pub. Famous for its rock loving patrons. Good selection of beer and great atmosphere
B. P.
This pub has been there forever. It's a Manchester institution. It was there when I was first going out in to town the 70's, and probably well before that. Strangely it has retained some of the vibe from all those years ago, perhaps because it is a "rock pub" where the music played (fairly loud), is, well, rock music. It makes a change from all the usual bland more "modern” pubs, and even from the traditional pubs. It has it's own identity. Like it or not. I like it. The beer is good, service is good, prices are good for town. Hope it stays doing what it does for another 40 years. Rock on! 😎
P. W.
Awesome pub very friendly staff
C. F.
Fabulous atmosphere, music, staff and decent drinks prices too! Perfect 🥰
R. C.
One of my favourite pubs in Manchester, and still a brilliant watering hole for the city's rock fraternity. This place has hardly changed in the 25 years I've been going there, and is all the better for its constancy. Cosy and welcoming, and always great rock tunes on the jukebox. Love the fact that it's nestled in its own little cobbled valley too (although this, and the Everest-height steps at the doors present a challenge for wheelchair access)! Love the place.
a. M.
Great Manchester pub tucked away off the beaten track. It can look a bit intimidating from the outside, given its location under the railway arches, but inside it's a clean and well run pub. The theme is most definitely rock music, and the place is always packed with colourful friendly characters and great music. Pop in for a pint and I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised.
P. D.
Best jukebox in Manchester for the metal scene, just not allowed to stand at the bar anymore apparently.
M.
Good beer, good music.
I. C.
Excellent ale. Music was LOUD.
P.
Another good old fashioned pub, with real ales and other drinks. It is one of many, but has its own character to be worth a stop. It's a member of Camra, so you can get a discount, if you're a member. Friendly helpful staff, and lots of seating. It gets very busy before gigs at the Academy, but overall a good place for a pint, or three.
B. C.
Some of the reviews on here are clearly NOT talking about the right venue!? The Salisbury is one of the greatest pubs in Manchester, if not England! A welcoming team behind the bar and a large ale selection on the bar and in the fridges. Discounts are available if you show your gig tickets before a show, which is a brilliant touch as this is very much a music lovers pub. I'm not much of a spirits drinker, but even I am impressed by the size of the selection of Whiskies, Vodkas and Gins. My second home. I hope it never changes.
P. E.
Nice Rock pub playing good music and serving decent ales at reasonable prices. Good selection of tunes on the jukebox. Friendly staff, clean toilets. Open 'til late on Sundays.
L. S.
If you're going to a gig in Manchester, this is an obligatory pitstop en route.
P.
Definitely my favourite place to go. Staff are great (they know their stuff), music and atmosphere is always rocking away.
M. R.
Love this place. Great atmosphere, wide range of drinks, friendly staff & generally a great crowd of people in there. Had loads of brilliant nights in here and am sure I'll have plenty more.
A. M.
Best pub in Manchester, best juke box, theakston OP and other beers available.
Been going for 30 years +
P. R.
Beer selection a bit boring, nice enough pub
S. W.
Love this place, been going for years. Great beer, great atmosphere and right next to the train station.
D. B.
Could be biased as this is my personal favourite pub in Manchester. It was my regular pub for years and I've seen the progression this place has taken. The people who work here really care about what they do and have always been trying to improve and keep their high standards. Brilliant selection of real ales and beers on tap, the music is great and it's rare someone puts something on the jukebox everyone in the place doesn't enjoy. With 50p off for gig goers it's perfect for pre gig pints. I promise I'm not affiliated with the pub, I just think it's a great pub and will always make sure to visit at least once each time I'm back in Manchester.
C. A.
A great rock pub with a pool table and an alternative crowd. I've been here a fair few times and the music is usually very good (one time it was absolutely dire). The patio out back is a good spot for a drink whether you smoke or not. Drinks-wise, they have beer and lager, and they'll happily do mixed drinks if you'd prefer.
M. S.
Great pub, wide choice of very reasonable beer and ale.
C. H.
Great pub! Really beautifully done up and a great atmosphere. Drinks are reasonably priced and the music selection is great. Down side is the music was so loud and the acoustics so bad that we had to scream at each other and at the bar tender for orders in order to hear anything.
j. c.
Such a relaxing atmosphere. It can get busy but I've always felt well looked after here and always welcome; even after a few too many. This pub also has the worlds best doorman I've ever met, it's worth a trip to the sailsbury for him alone!
J. P.
Good atmosphere, friendly staff and has the feel of a local pub in the city centre but with more interesting people, a Manchester institution.
f. H.
Best Rock pub in Manchester! Great drinks fab atmosphere x
R. F.
Great pub. Always has a fantastic range of real ales as well as lagers. Ciders, and spirits. Popular with Rock fans it has a fine jukebox and offers discounts to those going to gigs at local venues.
W.
Excellent on every front. Great music, friendly staff and an interesting crowd.
D. G.
Great little bar teeming with character, bar staff friendly and welcoming will definitely be going again to this hidden gem.
M. H.
A nice selection of ales and its right next to Oxford Road Station, so it's a good place to go for a pint after work or for the start of a night out. The music is really good as well if you're looking for a rock/indie/metal place. 😀👍🍻
A. E.
Awesome pub, great beer and atmosphere
D. G.
Really well looked after, nice place to sit inside or out and really well priced drinks given its in a big city would go to again
S. M.
Greatest pub on Earth!! I've had to return 1 pint off olde peculiar in 25 years as it was end of barrel. Not a bad ratio. Rock and metal jukebox and english ale at its best. 50p off a pint with Academy gig tickets.
H. B.
Beautiful pub with top class real ales and knowledgeable staff.
J. W.
Great ale, great music
W. S.
Great rock pub, next to Oxford road station. Lovely staff and dinky beer garden. Good range of beer. Been around since the 80's, great place to visit before a gig
S. W.
A frequent goto with friends especially with its later opening hours towards the weekends. It has a wide selection of ales on tap, decent music, and sheltered outdoor seating, and the staff are usually friendly.
c. c.
Love this bar! Beer was spot on and music excellent, well worth risking my heels on the steep cobbles and after a few beers I didn't care 👍🤘
A. M.
Great rock pub. Amazing cask anfld guest beers and spirit selection. Best jukebox for rock in Manchester I've found. Great crowd with all types welcome.
Z. S.
Been a couple of times now. Nice staff, cool songs on the juke box and chilled atmosphere.
C. D.
Without doubt the best rock-themed pub in Manchester. Even though it's had a recent makeover and the fake exposed brick wallpaper is a bit twee, thankfully it still retains its traditional British pub decor and atmosphere. I think the partial images of classic rock album covers incorporated into the wallpaper is a fun touch. Rockers like me still think of this place as home. Long may it remain delightfully unstupidified by pub designers, who so often ruin great boozers with their far-too-high stools, dried flower arrangements and forced arty-fartiness.
T. H.
A place to go if you like rock music of all genre's as it has has a brilliant juke box. At weekends the pub closes normally at 2 a.m. so do not put any money in the juke box, at last orders, as it is switched off promptly! So to the booze - it has the usual culprits regards lagers and ciders and spirits. The hand pull ales are mainly from the Theakston brewery and there can be a couple of guest ales. If you are part of CAMRA then you will get a small discount if you show your card. A friendly, diverse crowd tend to frequent the place.
C.
Best Rock bar in Manchester
N. O.
What every good rock pub should be. Very impressed. Pleased with the jukebox and seeing a drunk vomit into the sleeve of his leather jacket adds to the general rough rock venue atmosphere.
D. M.
Nice selection of beers / ales and local pub snacks. Secret covered courtyard out the back for smokers (and mainly vapers). Great location for Oxford Road station.
D. C.
Great authentic bar with brilliant rock / metal music. Cider selection could be better but always a favourite to visit. Good outside drinking area too.
S. M.
Great pub just opposite the Principal hotel and about 3 - 4 mins walk from the o2 Ritz. Fab music pub and if you show your valid ticket/s for a gig at the Ritz on the night to the bar staff, you will be given a discount on drinks bought! It's where a lot of Ritz goers meet up, great atmosphere, friendly staff too!
S. M.
Will admit I came here late after a conference dinner, so my experience is not objective: crouched in dark corner under a railway bridge, the Salisbury is a glowing haven of real ales and warm cosy interiors, bubbling along cheerily on a cold night. It smells like many decades of beers spilled before. The beer garden is a back porch devoid of photosynthesis. All together, a charming pub with great beers.
K. H.
Good rock music jukebox and decent prices, staff are friendly, all round good pub
A. C.
This alternative pub with its rock music vibes is a nice change from all the chains/hip and trendy bars in Manchester. Retro boozer with good music, booths, and a small smoking area out the back. Include it in your bar crawl, it attracts a friendly crowd!
K. B.
Excellent beer as usual 🍺
H. D.
Great place to go for rock and metal heads.
Friendly staff and patrons.
They have discounted drink prices too, if you bring in a concert ticket for the same night 🤘🤘🤘
K. L.
The first pub I visited in Manchester City centre back in 1978 and it still retains that certain something and special atmosphere. Friendly staff and a good welcome for camra members. What happened to the asteroid and galaxian machines?!
R. S.
A frequent haunt on our work's nights out after I've invariably lost at bowling. Ale is decent quality as is the rock soundtrack. Untappd average 3.3
D. S.
Great alternative bar with excellent selection of beers and ales, pool table and fantastic jukebox. Offers discounts for all gig goers. Cannot recommend this place enough
P. H.
Ace pub. Great choice of Cask ales. If your going to a gig you'll also get a discount on a pint before and after the gig. Best jukebox in Manchester as well.
A. S.
Need a pre/post gig pint? Look no further.
Want a pint whist listening to a wide range of quality rock music? Look no further.
Want a quiet day time pint? Look no further.
Decor is great, friendly clientele and staff, good choice of bar things, pool table...
A beery visit to Manchester is not complete without a trip to The Salisbury.
S. A.
Ideal meeting place for pre-drinks before a gig at the O2 Ritz nearby. A friendly place with a musically themed decor and a few humorous pictures and signs to be found.
J.
The best music, a proper pub atmosphere and great ales on tap... what more could you ask for? Absolutely perfect place!
M.
One of my most favourite pubs in Manchester. Fantastic ales on tap and a great juke box. Many evenings have been spent here rocking out with friends and enjoying the cosy booths or playing a game of pool!
T. M.
Yes, a great pub with heavy rock playing! Get there or be square!
A. G.
Great pub that plays rock music on the jukebox. Good selection of beers. Just not quite enough seats.
E. F.
Been going in tgis pub on and off since the 90's. Great authentic rock pub, relaxed atmosphere, pool table, friendly staff. Expect to hear Metallica at some point!
r. b.
Fantastic pub. Wish it was my local (although my local is great). Great beer, great staff, proper old drinking pub. All topped off with great music (rock). Definitely going again next time in Manchester. Thanks.
J. M.
Great lil pub. Perfect for post-gig socialising
P. K.
Simply the best boozer in Manchester. The Salisbury keeps the very best cellar around, with excellent beers and ales on tap, as well as pretty phenomenal jukebox selection.
C. B.
Always a good crowd in here and a great selection of beers,we always visit when we're in town be it part of a pub crawl or pre/post gig at the Academy, handily placed near for trains and tram
H. R.
Excellent.
Visited here recently because I was attending a nearby gig.
Nice selection of real ales, friendly staff and Ramones and Motorhead on the jukebox. What more do you need !
J. M.
Right by train station. Good range of drinks, friendly atmosphere and decent outside seating area
N. B.
Music is amazing.Good environment and stuff super friendly
P. A.
Cracking rocker pub. Few good ales. No chalk for pool cues though....
L. R.
A genuine pub right in the heart of Manchester, tucked auspiciously in a corner by Oxford Road train station. Its clean, well maintained and the staff are friendly. I once saw The Salisbury as a reluctant alternative to the ever busy metal-head bar that shelters it from the torrent of Oxford Street, Grand Central. But now I wouldn't step foot inside that place (not that they would have me, with my lack of sleeveless denim jacket, dock martins, band t-shirt and matching band tattoo) because The Salisbury is infinitely more appealing. They have a great selection of guest ales, a pool table with immaculate cues, a cosy backyard smoking area and best of all a warm atmosphere that welcomes all sections of society. To sum up, what I'm trying to say is that its a chilled out place with good beer, and you should check it out some time.
M. C.
Great rock pub and fantastic offer on Mondays 2 pizzas for the price of 1.
L. M.
Great character pub with excellent juke box. Good choice of beers and a decent pool table. Always quick service with friendly staff.
K. C. (.
And they sell pickled egg's! Scotch egg's, you can even get black pudding. That combined with a Watneys red barrel pump (lit up, but not Watneys inside. I don't think so anyway). A hidden gem.
M. K.
Good service, nice drinks and great music
A. H.
Always loved this pub. If I'm in Oxford Road in Manchester, I have to go. If you love real ale, rock music and a friendly atmosphere, I recommend a visit.
L. M.
Lovely pub even if it has lost the spit and sawdust these days. Went for a pint with my sis and got chatted up by a fan of UFO!! 😂 wish wed got a game on the pool table.
A. W.
Great bar staff and a friendly atmosphere. Visited on the way to a gig and got a gig-goers discount, which was nice. Always make sure to drop in here when I'm in Manchester.
J. P.
I'm pretty sure the Salisbury could easily be one of Manchester's oldest pubs. Tucked away underneath Oxford Road train station, you can't actually see the main road when walking out the main door of the pub due to the rest of the street being built up so much in the year's since it was first built there. It's not the largest pub in town but I've always enjoyed a relatively quiet session in here. Worth a visit if not just for the history, which I've possibly just exaggerated,
S. H.
Your typical rock pub. Not a bad place to start
M. R.
You can't desire for anything better.
S. T.
Great jukebox and great drinks. Can't fault it. Staple of Manchester

Great pub, excellent Atmos and the pizzas are amazing
P. J.
The place to be in the 90s for the unwashed, black clad, pre-Jilly's crowd... Those nights have long since been swept away on the altar of real estate investment returns and the unstoppable march of the Tesco's Extra, but you can still wallow in nostalgia unharrased if you wish and mull over glories past. Rock on!
M. S.
Worn down pub, call it atmosphere. I like!
R.
Decent selection of booze and the tunes are great. Fun atmosphere although a little unkept, but I think that's the intended vibe.
c. s.
