Popped in for some lunch with my son, food here is absolutely spot on. Well cooked, great portion size and a good choice. Price are good. I went for the mixed grill, steak cooked how I asked, proper home made chips, son had veggie sausage and mash, which came with 4 sausage! I will definitely be visiting again.

The food at the Union is really very tasty and home cooked went there today with my partner for her 40th Birthday and we enjoyed every minute of it as I said brilliant food very good service really jolly and helpful staff plus good choice of drinks we would highly recommend that if anyone hasn't been there give it a go you will not be disappointed ho forgot to say a very good menu with lots to choose from

Great food, was part of a large group who arrived early so clashed with another pre-booked. Not an issue though all the food orders where dealt with without issues and quality and service was excellent

This pub serves good food at great prices and the staff are great too . The only reason for a missing star is is on a bend of a very busy main road and nowhere to park .

..UPDATE.. A real "good old fashioned" pub, with decent real ales, but not as much choice as they used to have. A good selection of fairly basic, but always well cooked food and excellent portions (including proper chips!). Good value for both food and drink. My only criticism used to be the tables were often found to be quite sticky, but they seem to have dealt with that issue now, also toilets were nicely renovated a few months ago👍. Up to date menu photo is posted. I reckon it now justifies 5 stars !!

Staff and service for the past 2 years that I have been going with family, friends, with and without children. Has always been amazing. It's like your part of a family. I have no complaints to food, portion size and service. The cost is very reasonable. Covid 19 care in place to an high stand and I will continue to support local as much as I can. The new paint job, flooring, etc is beautiful without disrupting the history and old school vibe of the pub. There is a beer garden to the back for nice weather or us naughty smokers. We have a heart full of love for this place. ❤️✌️🤘

Good food and a lovely pub right on my doorstep. Revisited this pub on 19th May 2021 Unfortunately the service was slow and waited what seemed ages for my meal and 40 plus minutes for my desert the only reason I won't change my star rating is because the food was excellent if it wasn't I would of rated my experience as 3 stars with no communication for the delay by any member of staff.

+The Staff was friendly, and eating utensils was proudly provided at every table when being served. -Food took more than an hour to make, though it was prepped deliciously, and up to par with my standards. -There is no parking spaces besides the road. +Outdoor area +Great choices of food +-Quite loud and Noisy and attracts quite the trendy crowd. (People who like sports or participate in drinking events, mostly.) +-There's a bar machine here. All up to personal preference, though I prefer not wasting my money. Conclusion Great place to be for your breakfasts, as the food is deliciously cooked and the drinks are fine as wine, this type of place is your average pub that supplies and tries to keep up with each customers standards. There is tons of places to sit with different atmospheres. Most recommended on mornings.

Fantastic - phoned at 12.30 on a Sunday and asked could they fit a table of 15 in for about 4pm. Lindsey who was fantastic said she could do 3pm has they already have a booking at 4pm for 27 people. Which was great as everyone knows how hard it is to get a table on a Sunday. Also are party of 15 then went to 19, which then went to a table of 27. 😳 The staff was amazing. Food was spot on. The kids played, no one complained about the kids as we had as we had 12 kids with us. We had starters, mains, desserts and drinks. Also you can get a 3 course meal for less than £10.00. Can i just say the staff didn't pull there faces at anytime. Thankyou guys for a fantastic service you have just gained your self 15 new customers and 5 of them will be coming from Wales and the other side of Manchester.

Former Thwaites house on the edge of the town near to Aldi supermarket. Now in the hands of Wigan brewer, Allgates so it has real ales from its own brewery and Wainwright. Nice two room establishment that caters well for Tyldesley residents. Welcoming and well presented.
