Just had a great meal here. Probably best to book if you want a roast on a Sunday. I had a rack of ribs and my wife had a tepora lemon sole fillet. Only problem is that the establishment is a good walk away from home, but will definitely be going again! Friendly bar staff and very clean.

Nice fish n chips and a pint of Manchester craft lager. Reasonably priced and served quickly. The Mrs didn't think much of the vegan chilli. Had a coffee to finish which was good quality and strong.

Nice food but one of the staff not very nice, I didnt know her but snubbed me but was nice to my friend I was with. WHY. Small with blonde hair wearing jeans, not very young. Wont go back. Been many times but wont put up with this.

Given a table without booking last night which was great. Had a lovely meal as usual, however, extremely disappointed with the service. No one came to ask us how our meal was or offer us a refill of drinks. Asked for the bill but had to go to the bar after 10 minutes and was told, sorry I forgot. We were asked to pay at the bar because we were paying part cash and card so it meant the waiter would have to keep coming back and forth!! Acceptable if ibusy it but sadly it was not

Booked for the reception after my Father-in-laws Celebration of life service. We reserved the conservatory and arranged for sandwiches and were allowed to take in some cupcakes as afternoon tea wasn't available. Very friendly and helpful staff and there was plenty of filling in the sandwiches. We had been told beforehand how long we had the conservatory booked for and this was ample time for us. Thank you for looking after us.

First time back since the country opened up again and was pleasantly surprised. Food was decent enough and a good amount. I had the steak n ale pie, a good slice of a bigger pie, not one in a pot with a lid. Think the whole party of 10 enjoyed their food

While it was nice to get out, I wasn't impressed with the food. They had a limited menu, but that's fine, I didn't expect a full menu for only being able to sit outside before lock down ends. We bith had Fish & chips. The fish was nice, but the chips were very bad and for £13 each, it was way too expensive. Yes, OK, you got mushy peas and tartar sauce with it. But it wasn't worth the money. But like I said, it was nice to go out and eat local and the rain held off and was warm in the sun. Update to your response. I've been many times to the Urmston and have always enjoyed my food. So, not to worry. May be I shouldn't have posted a review at this time in partial opening. Just what I experienced at this time. Many thanks and we will be back, soon.

This was our first outing to a pub since restrictions were eased and it was a first meeting with my parents in over 6 months. We chose this venue based on previous visits and my parents live close by so easy for them to get to : we live some 17 miles away and our 2 daughters also live some distance away . The food , drink and service were all excellent coupled with all the appropriate safety protocols: a credit to the management and all staff . Keep up the good work and definitely would recommend this venue.

Came here with 15 of us for an 80th birthday lunch, driven passed the Place number of times as I Live Local just never been in,I was sent the menu and was pleasantly surprised at the pricing, the menu had a good selection of starters mains and desserts and also special menu on the table one two or three courses starting at £12. Our food was excellent really nice and tasty!!! I would recommend the lasagna but most of the family got a Sunday lunch and it looked and smelled fantastic, the staff there were more than happy to help with a nice smile to go with her very attentive to the table and all customers around them. will defo recommend this place and will be in again around the summertime for some lunch on their outside tables:) thanks for a nice afternoon guys.

Big fat ten. Had visited before I moved here and proximity was part of my consideration. Great pints lovely staff and a really nice and friendly crowd. The refurb has changed it a bit - ie layout had tak n away the games room which is a shame but on the other side of that it has really opened the place up. Great sunshine drinking with loads of outdoor space and for winter loads of fire places. Plum porter is top in winter and I will always mourn lees getting rid of the stout as it was tippity bloody top. Grateful that my local pub is brilliant tbh.

Sat 2nd Nov 2019... From my phone call to book to myself & friends/family leaving the service was fantastic!!. Staff so lovely & friendly & couldn't do enough for us. One of our party, a child, has Coeliac disease so is gluten free. Staff were very knowledgeable & there were lots of options for her. 13 of us & meals were brought out together, not too long a wait & were all really nice. Lovely refurbishment. A little disappointed with the service. 1st visit back after lockdown and although there are 4 staff on people still ordering at the bar as not glancing around tables enough.staff serving food dont have face coverings which when placing plates are getting quite close to you. Not sure I will be visiting any time soon as it wasnt very busy so no excuses really!

Drink here most weekends and sometimes eat. Food is always good pub grub, it's not super fancy but for the price, you really can't expect it to be. The best bit about The Urmston is the staff who make it a friendly place to pop into.

Been after it been do up for a meal all the meals are the same price and got quite dear for what you pay for fish and chips was 17.00 and then a drink on top coffee for me and club soda for mum it was 40.00 just for 2 people, we eat out alot and that was dear as we thought, but nice clean pub friendly staff, for what we paid for the food just OK nothing great for the money

A group of us have been regulars here for over a year. It may not be quite as cheap as some of the bargain pubs, the food in particular, but I do think you get what you pay for here. Unlike some places it is well kept and all of the staff are upbeat and friendly. The JW Lees lager and bitter is also pretty decent and is better than one or two of the famous branded versions in my book! It is smaller than some places, but again I think that gives it its charm, a cosy friendly atmosphere. We enjoy the pool and darts in the vault area. The quiz on a Thursday evening is a good laugh and atmosphere too once you've given it a couple of goes to get into it!
