Such a lovely little pub, with exceptional staff. They catered for my Dad's funeral and I couldn't have asked for better service. The landlord was helpful and friendly. The buffet was lovely and the bar staff were so nice and kind and friendly. Thank you so much.

Excellent local pub. I've been coming to this pub since the mid to late 80's. It's a top quality traditional English pub that appeals to older clientele. This is not a place where you will be alongside a group of rowdy young people, it's just not that kind of place. It's a place to sit with friends and have a good conversation over a few drinks. Once inside you could be forgiven for thinking that you are in a small village in the middle of nowhere, it's that kind of place.

We're new to the area so just trying all of the local pubs. This is a really cosy, friendly place. The Sunday roast is good value. I'll definitely be coming back more often for afternoon beers.

Tuesday night is quiz night. 9 til 10:45. Good fun and challenging. £1 per person entry. All money paid back as winnings. If you don't make the top three you go into the draw for a bottle of wine.

It styles itself as a "country pub on the city", and to be honest it does live up to that description very well. Low-ceilinged interior and a rambling series of comfortable rooms for you to take your ease in. A small beer garden to the rear, adjoining a car park completes the rosy picture. Always three well-kept cask ales on, usually from local brewer's. Well recommended.

Toller Pub mit günstigen Getränken und netter Atmosphäre. Sunday Roast ist ebenfalls köstlich, lediglich der Burger ist widerlich und besteht nur aus 2 Supermarkt Brot Hälften und einer Fertig Frikadelle die furztrocken und roh serviert wurde. Sowas dann lieber von der Speisekarte nehmen als es dem Kunden als vollpreisiges Produkt anzubieten. (Translated) Great pub with cheap drinks and nice atmosphere. Sunday Roast is also delicious, only the burger is disgusting and consists of only 2 supermarket bread halves and a ready meatball which was served dry and raw. Sowas then rather take the menu than to offer the customer as a full-price product.

Schöne Getränkeauswahl, toller Sunday Roast, sehr nettes Personal. Drin schön gemütlich, netter Hof / Garten zum draußen sitzen. 👍 Sollten wir mal wieder in der Gegend sein, kommen wir in jedem Fall wieder. Ist zu Fuß etwas schwer zu finden, da die Wege ziemlich zugewachsen sind (gleich neben Lord Nelson geht es rein ins Gebüsch), aber es lohnt sich. 😊 (Translated) Nice selection of drinks, great Sunday Roast, very nice staff. Nice and cozy inside, nice yard/garden to sit outside. 👍 If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back. A bit difficult to find on foot as the paths are quite overgrown (entry into the bushes just off Lord Nelson) but worth it. 😊
