Great experience at the Washroom on Sunday evening. Googled “cool bars near me” and this was easily the highest reviewed. Which makes sense to me now. The entrance experience is amazing. I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but when you walk in make sure you pick up the phone and ring. The drinks are very creative. I had the Winner Winner with chicken cracklings and chicken infused whiskey. Really good. But the Breakfast drink, a bowl of cocoa pops and a vodka forward “milk” was amazing. In addition, the servers were great all around. Charlie in particular helped us through the menu and did a great job making people new to town feel welcome. Finally, make sure you take a minute to explore all the nooks and crannies. There is a 3rd floor slide behind a hidden wardrobe you don’t want to miss.

A lovely place to visit, very unique and appealing on both sides. The toilet was shockingly fun as well as their out-there cocktails: which I didn’t expect to come with any food. Respectfully I was going to leave a tip but was unimpressed with the fact they put A ‘disc. Service charge 10%’. I feel as though any kind of tips should be up to the customer's discretion and this felt very forced with no mention of it before.

The atmosphere was so lively and good vibes. The staff where so friendly and welcoming. However, the drinks that I had did not taste the greatest, i’m not sure if all of them are like that but personally I didn’t like my drink. The shots were nice though. We had ordered more drinks but unfortunately they didn’t come so I couldn’t try other drinks. They have a slide as well and it was good fun.

Loved the cocktails here. Friendly staff seated us and talked us through each cocktail. Definitely a lot of variety to suit any person's taste. Probably worth booking (we went on a Saturday mid-afternoon and managed to get a table for 2) but very popular and easy to see why!

Overall this was a great and fun experience, the drinks were so creative and looked as good as they tasted. The prices are on the high end however the staff is extremely friendly, attentive and if a drink isn't to your liking you can exchange it... Definitely worth a visit.

We've visited Manchester twice, once in October and once in December and both times went to The Washhouse. Please don't be put off by the prices - the drinks are so tasty but the whole setting and excellent service just adds to the experience. And that's what it is - it's not just popping out for a drink somewhere but a wonderful experience. I got a shot for my birthday on the house, which came with a little rose and a tiny Battenburg. A lot of the drinks come with something (one we had came with a scone and rocket leaves), which really adds to that special feel. We didn't find the slide but the toilets are cool and I implore you to touch the red button (rules are no fun after all). Can't wait to visit again in the future!

Fantastic cocktails.....the taste experience and quality of these are second to none.....each one quirky or with a fun suprise in some instances. New upstairs bar is stunning and some great fun additions for parties etc....but the downstairs old bar was a better experience and atmosphere in my opinion. One other critical item was ......Ben.... absolute diamond in the establishment very informative and helpful in selecting drinks.....but also made us laugh from the moment we walked in.....we will be back 👍

What an absolutely incredible experience, I cannot thank The Washhouse enough! The cocktails are incredible and so unique, the staff are so friendly and treat you like you’re the most important people in the room, the atmosphere and whole experience is beautiful. There was an issue with the card machine on our visit, we were treating to a free shot each, pick n mix and because the problem persisted the manager kindly offered our entire evening of drinks on the house! We were completely shocked at the kindness we were shown, the experience had already been more than 5 star before this but that was such a wonderful end to our visit. Customer care and experience is evidently the Washhouse‘s top priority and they are well worth a visit, you won’t be disappointed! Thank you so much ❤️

A truly incredible place. Everything is about fun. It's not pretentious, not arsy, it's just fun go along with it (I ate an orchid as part of my cocktail). Experiment and explore the different tastes on offer. You won't find a basic woo woo or peroni here. The staff are so knowlegable and accommodating and take allergies seriously. I think it's my favourite hideaway.

So much fun. The fact my friends just walked past the unobtrusive entrance, The cloak and dagger way you get in, the wonderful drinks, the great staff.... What is there not to love. Washouse had been extended so you can now sit upstairs. I ordered a drink and honestly I couldn't drink it - not a problem it was changed. No fuss no problem. I love that you can take a risk on a drink you might not like and not worry you've just wasted money (most of the cocktails are super yummy and fancy and magical)

It's really an event, from the entrance through the launderette, the amazing staff, the glorious cocktails and even the bathroom makes everything feel that little bit more special. I would say it's better to go with a group of friends to really enjoy the experience as it's great to share. The staff are incredible. Really friendly, assertive and knowledgeable about the things they will serve. They're really happy to help you order with suggestions and potential changes you can make to really get a bespoke experience from your drinks. And the bathroom, don't touch the red button guys 🥳 A word of warning. If you get the drink with the scotch bonnet, and you at any point handle that chili, was your hands thoroughly before using the bathroom.

My new favourite bar in Manchester! Can’t believe I lived in the city for 5 years and never went! The girl serving us was absolutely lovely… an angel 🥰 She talked us through everything on the menu and about the secret slide. I won’t give its location away but we had so much fun! Even the toilets are jumping! 🎶🎶🤪 Also… if you want a wee keepsake then order the drink that has something to do with jail (unfortunately I can’t remember what it’s called!)

An exciting place. The menu selections are full of unique drinks that you may or may not like. But the best part is they'll exchange your drinks for free for another one on the menu if you don't like the ones you've ordered. They have many easter eggs hidden around their shop like the button at the toilet and the hidden door that blends right into the brick wall

This bar is fantastic! It’s very unique, aesthetically pleasing and the staff were fantastic. Before we put order, the staff explain the menu to you, they are very knowledgeable. We ordered our drinks and every drink that came, the bar staff explained what the drink was and how to best enjoy it. Staff were very attentive and then we were sent to the secret room! Quirky cocktail bar! A crazy experience from having to go into a room like a launderette...pick up the old phone and speak to the barman to get in, proper prohibition'esk 👌. A weird and wonderful cocktail menu ... you would have to be brave to try some of them as they have salmon or other crazy ingredients but the overall presentation of some of the cocktails is top notch. The staff are very helpful and help you choose if you need help but also take the time to explain the story behind all the cocktails! Book online only, deffo worth it for the experience.

This is..... The best cocktail bar... I've ever been to. Over two nights, the person I was with and I had 13 different cocktails.... 4 the first night, 9 the second night. Our server Tia told us they spent 4 years creating the cocktail list.... It seems like each one was made by a person with a different personality. Each one is like opening a box on an advent calendar, not knowing what you'll get but you're excited to be surprised. The most FUN, ACTUAL FUN I've had at any type of bar ever. YES

Fantastic experience in this very quirky Speakeasy bar. From the old telephone in the entrance, through the secret door, up the red-lit stairway into a dark but atmospheric bar. Our cocktails were served by Klaudia, who was warm, cheerful and very helpful in navigating the menu of unusual but tasty drinks. Top marks to her for making our first visit so enjoyable and memorable. It won't be our last! The flavours and presentation were top class. We've just left The Washhouse and couldn't wait to write a review! We were served by Klaudia, one of the most lovely servers I've ever met! She talked us through all of our cocktail choices and was so incredibly warm and friendly, a real credit to the business and a total gem! Could have chatted with her for hours! The cocktails were absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented and though the bartender's didn't need to interact with us, I loved that they were still so smiley and friendly as we were leaving! A real 10/10 experience, if I wasn't on hospitality wages aswell, I'd be here all the time! 😂 💓

Vibrant, quirky bar well worth a visit. Our server was very friendly and attentive, there was a wait on our cocktails to which we didn’t complain about. However, he took it upon himself to bring us a shot each, apologised and explained why there was a wait (they had influx of orders from customers all at same time). Really appreciated this and just wish all bars/restaurants would have this type of customer service! Even by simply coming over and acknowledging the fact we were waiting and communicating the reason why, we would have been happy with but the shots were a bonus and a nice touch - thanks! The cocktails were delicious and creative and worth the wait. ( was only the first cocktail we waited on, the second set of cocktails came in good time). All the staff members were brilliant and even the busy cocktail makers/bartenders made an effort to interact with you to make sure you had the best experience. There’s a few hidden fun things to do in the bar which the bartenders gave us a hint to go find which was a good laugh. Thanks for a great night!

Easy 5 stars. Thank you to the entire team who took in a last minute booking request for 10 in the private room which was incredible - what a space for a function! Thank you for the patience you showed to our party, who I apologize for bringing you majority elder couples (fiancé’s extended family) who hadn’t come across an adventurous cocktail list let alone a true speakeasy maybe ever 🤣 The general feedback was so positive, I managed to try about 6 drinks and I think I unfortunately chose the worst haha (cherie cobbler didn’t seem to have much alcohol - didn’t mention it as I was so happy with all the others I had tried) - which was down to how amazing some of the others were. The lassi, the clarified milk, the coco pops, a peace of mind, sweet shop etc. all fantastic. One of our favourite cocktail bars in the world thus far. All staff were so knowledgeable, patient, welcoming and friendly. We can’t wait to come back one day and you have our recommendation to anyone venturing this part of the UK in the future.

Really great place. Staff were great and explained every drink. The drinks are wacky and most are really nice. Fortunately, if you don't like your drink, they'll replace it for free. So need to worry about it. Toilets are alright, the big red button was underwhelming and the slide was abit of a let down too. It was fun but expected something more.

One of the best hidden gems in Manchester. Its definitely an experience and thats what you pay for. The drinks are £10 and over. But I can say that they are amazing super creative cocktails that you wont get anywhere else. The environment is very dark, but cosy, nice for a date to keep things interesting. The waiter explain every drink in a story mode fashion and there is a cocktail for everybody. The music is also nice, they played Bonobo and deep house. All in all great experience, would go there again but only on special occasions.

I surprised my boyfriend with a trip to the Washhouse. The excitement started when we turned up to any ordinary shop entrance. The confusion it caused him was brilliant. Especially when we stepped inside and I told him to pick up the phone and explain we had a wash booked in. Once inside it was obvious that the staff working there really enjoyed their job and were extremely knowledgeable about their extensive menu. They made suggestions dependant on the taste you would normally look for in a cocktail and were happy to take the time to talk. The cocktails are out of this world, and something you have never encountered before. The flavours are incredible and the presentation far exceeds anything you've seen before. This place will really blow your mind. I will definitely be returning and would recommend this to anyone. Just make sure you book in advance or you won't be let it.

We went for a small farewell party and the bar tending staff customised a majestic parting cocktail for the person who is leaving. This, complemented by the wide range of cocktails that 1) make use of spirits you won't find elsewhere 2) are visually spectacular 3) actually taste nice! means this is a place alcohol-enthusiasts must visit!

I absolutely loved it here. Its such a novelty so thought it was gunna be a bit of a laugh but I was blown away by the knowledge of the staff and how accommodating they were. They were so friendly and eager to explain all the cocktails, figure out your tastes or even whip you up something not on the menu. They cocktails were fantastic and although a tad pricey it's worth every penny for the experience and how much effort has gone into every one. The atmosphere is calm and chilled. We visited The Washhouse last night after finding a recommendation online. The bar impressed us from the moment we stepped inside the front door! The entrance is disguised as a laundrette and you need to call the little phone to get in! We went on a Monday night so it wasn’t too busy, but I think you would probably need to make a reservation on busier nights. The service was great and the staff were really well informed and friendly. The drinks were incredible! Delicious and such a spectacle! The menu has been really well thought out and some of the cocktails have some really interesting combinations! I loved this place! I am just a bit sad that I do not live in Manchester to visit any time soon!

Fantastic little hidden bar in the centre of Manchester! The owner served us and it seemed that every 'cocktail' came with a story of how he was inspired to create it. My 'drink' was based on memories of his father who worked for Kellogg's and it came in a small milk bottle which you poured onto a bowl of CocoPops and ate/drank either with a spoon, a straw or slurping it from the bowl! It was amazing! If you're hoping to get in at weekends, I'd strongly advise you to book!

Great atmosphere. You have to enter through a "secret" entrance behind a washing machine. Once inside the staff are very friendly and helpful as the choice of drinks available is very different to other bars and every drink has a bit of a story behind it. Every drink we tried was well made with flavours complimenting each other, even the ones that sound strange, like the "cheese" board sharer.

Great little hidden bar in the Northern Quarter. You have to prebook before going. Looks like a laundrette from the front and there's a qwerky way to get access once you're in. This cocktail bar is one of the best I've been to with something for everyone. Wow! One of the best cocktail bars I've been to. The owner and the bar staff were clearly so passionate about the cocktails they had created. Amazing experience for our party of 4. Interesting and unique method of entry, really playing into the 'secret/speakeasy' vibe of the establishment. Staff were immediately friendly and welcoming when showing us to our table. Drinks were reasonably priced in comparison to other cocktail bars (£10-£12). Each drink came with an interesting presentation and many of them were accompanied by a short backstory which was detailed by the staff. All in all, a 10/10 experience - I just wish I could've stayed longer! :)

Hands down the best overall cocktail bar experience my friend and I have had. The service was 10/10. It was a quieter time when we were there, so the owner was able to share personal stories about how each cocktail we were drinking was created and why. Really nice place to sit for an afternoon. Some drinks quite (very) expensive but some towards the more normal cocktail price. Doesn't really detract from the experience if you're super bothered about paying 10-12 quid a drink then The Washhouse probably isn't for you.

Toilet on the 2ñd floor even a surprise in there if you decide to press the button! Lastly on the 3rd/4th floor another laundry room with some fun for adults! TAKE NOTE TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT....... You must book before you attend 'The Wash House'. Whilst we were there (11:30pm in a random week night) a small group were welcomed in but the place only had 3 tables in! It's a small venue and only has about 8-10 tables which pulls off the cosy yet intimate feel beautifully. The drinks are very well made and you might even say crafted to perfection with a beautiful balance of original ideas and flavours. I would personally be very disappointed if I were to visit Manchester and not go back here. Save your pennies and then spend them all here!

Met by a really nice waitress who had good banter and made the visit memorable. Cocktail menu is really extensive and has some really nice options. I opted for the Owl & Pussycat (£9.50) which was the best I've ever tasted. I visited as part of a group of four on a busy Friday night but I can imagine this place would be good to visit for couples. It's expensive, but worth a visit.

Amazing place. Probably the best cocktails I've ever had. Some weird but cool ingredients too. I don't think the prices were high at all, at least not compared to London cocktail bars, and certainly not for anything so unique. Vegan friendly too, not everything (spoiler alert! Don't order the cocktail with chorizo or the one with salmon), but still a fab selection of drinks and our waiter was knowledgeable on the alternatives they could offer. Great that they offer to swap your drink if you don't like what you order. We didn't need to do that but it let's you be brave and order something you're curious about. Even the loo is interesting Not adding photos because it'll spoil the surprise of the drinks. 100% recommend

(Visited Feb 2019) I came here with my friends on a Saturday evening: I booked a table for 9:30pm and we had it for an hour and a half, which was just enough time for two rounds of cocktails. Don't forget, you HAVE to book in advance here! Our drinks were awe-inspiring. They’re creative, unique and you can really tell that the staff put a lot of thought and care into their craft. At about £12 each, they really are with it. I got the Soft Brexfast (this came in a cereal bowl) and another served in a terrarium. It's nice and warm inside and I love the off-the-beaten-track, prohibition sort of feel to it. One of the best bars I've visited in Manchester!

I went to this bar earlier this week and had a wonderful time! Drinks sure are pricey, but they were so good and conceptual. We were served by Ben and Louis and they were fantastic! From coming in to leaving, they made us laugh and were of great knowledge for the whole menu. Only downside I felt was that tipping was kind of mandatory (honestly, I would've tied the same anyways for that great of a service) but feel that it should still be an option at the end of your bill. But 5 stars rating, no doubt! 😊

Small, not pokey but well equipped for serious cocktail drinking. Omg what a hidden gem this place is came in yesterday with my husband son and his girlfriend we told them we were nipping in to pay for the laundry as there is two washing machines and a drier then picked up the phone to gain entry into the bar. A really great spot for a special occasion. I'm not going to spoil the surprise, but can only say the descriptions on the menu don't do justice to what is served. You can't get in without booking ahead of time, and need to put a deposit for a booking at the weekend. Staff are really friendly, and even cater for those who will be driving home. The memoirs of a geisha cocktail came with a roll of sushi, the sushi roll was a small cucumber maki (it may have come from Tesco) and the wasabi was surprisingly not as bad as i thought it would be. Went 3/11/18 arrived on time, but was ushered back to the door whilst table was cleaned, although i had notice about several seating area were free? Only 3 table bookings full on that night, so not sure I had to book, maybe they are trying to make the place exclusive not? waited 20 min to be served £11.50 cocktail each waitresses decided to give herself a tip from the £25 deposit. Personally not sure why general public cannot just walk in without a reservation Tables stay reserved for those who have booked, giving the place more atmosphere.👎 We moved on to a more lively bar This was my first and last visit. This place is more for birthday or office group bookings 👎👎👎
