S. E.Went here a couple of weeks ago for the breakfast buffet and loved it so much!! I think it was £5 something each but the food was so good, hot fresh and tasty, don’t think I’ve ever had better food from a buffet! It was easy to order as you could do this through the app. Partner had the breakfast pizza and he loved it! Was full after 2/3 plates as I ate too many sausages at first but excellent value for money! Will be back for sure!
B.I personally love these Steakhouse pub breakfasts, they are such good value. Two of you can have a hearty breakfast and drinks for around sixteen quid. Buffet style, take whatever you want and go back for more if you want. The staff were friendly, the food hot/fresh and the place was is laid out and clean.

The food is good but does seem to come out in small stages and I found myself and other customers waiting for certain foods to come out.
The staff have always been great, very nice and always busy.
Great place to meet and start your day if you have a big day planned.

L. K.Food was decent, brought wrong meal initially for my partner but this was quickly rectified by a member of staff Laura.
She went and sorted it out and waited until the fresh meal was done before bringing it to us as quickly as she could, she then went out of her way to bring my toddler an ice cream bowl as an apology for the wait. Fab service :)
S. C.We came in for tea on Friday night. The singer was great and the food was lovely. My husband and I shared a selection of starters. The garlic pizza bread is second to none. Excellent serve from all, but particularly Laura, nothing was too much trouble for her. She was great serving our fussy 4 year old.

L. K.Was a little confused whether or not we had to order through a waiter or through an app upon arrival, but once we realised how things work and had our food our experience was great.
The chefs were chatty and welcoming. Once we were finished with our food we asked a waiter for a box to take our leftovers home and he came back with one within minutes. Overall we had a very nice time and I will be returning with my housemates at some point :)

W.Sundays after 4pm the menu is only Carvery, wich wasnt great for the kids, but still had a lovely meal, all the carvery options where all delicious but due to it being very busy, the pork wasnt available at that moment... desserts where great too but also had some options unavailable, I assume due to how busy it was.

S. H.Very quiet Wednesday lunch time, barely anyone in but waited about half an hour for food, starter was very crispy and overcooked, burger was nice but chips well overdone. No music or atmosphere, wasn't very clean for start of lunch. Very cheap so get what you pay for, carvery looked better so would possibly try that if I returned.

T. K.I have always enjoyed coming here, we went in Sunday for my husband's birthday. Reserved a table for 6:00pm. Got served at the bar almost immediately then queued for over 20 minutes to get the carvery. The place was packed. In all fairness the meal was red-hot and very tasty. Must remember to give between 5:30 and 6:30 a wide berth in future Otherwise it was a very good evening. We will definitely be back.

s. n.We come for breakfast often and this week, Saturday morning 2nd October was not the best experience. The kitchen staff had everything ready but the toast/coffee bar left a lot to be desired. No plates out for toast, no butter out, no jam/marmalade out, no sugar out, no milk out and staff milling around behind the bar chatting. Everything had to be asked for, there was about 8 people waiting for stuff at the toast/coffee bar. There didn't appear to be any rush to sort it out, in fact I don't think the general staff were even aware or terribly bothered if I'm honest. The basics were just not there this morning. Usually there is a lady called Maggie on Saturday mornings and when she is on everything is sorted and ready. The younger staff on this week didn't seem to have any idea or notion of setting the place up for the breakfast run. We have always enjoyed breakfast at the windmill and it offers great value but 2 out of the last 4 weeks this appears to have happened. Please get it sorted before you lose custom.

d. c.Stayed at the premier inn and the restaurant was closed so we walked into town and found the Windmill. We hadn’t booked a table but were made to feel very welcome and taken to a nice table inside. All four of us had the most amazing carvery, the meat and vegetables were all freshly cooked and a nice selection. The food and service were so good that we booked in for breakfast the next morning and have to say it was one of the best cooked breakfast we have had. Only sorry we live too far away to go again.

Also not a childrens menu available 🤷♀️ So we ordered popcorn chicken from the starters menu when it arrived it had a spicy coating on we did expect it to be just popcorn chicken🙈 We did mention the luke warm food to the waitress she said she would tell the kitchen🤔

N. S.I have never been here before but had a lovely enjoyable afternoon with friends. Friendly staff, peaceful atmospbere. We had a carvery and i can honestly say it was one of the best i have had. The mash is definitely the best tasting mash i have eaten out. Missed my dinners out with friends over covid and i think we chose a very good place to kick them off again. We will definitely return for more of these in the future. Highly recommended and not a bad price either.

S. D.Friend lives in Stockport and had received a delivery and had nothing but praise. 2nweeks ago we decided to visit and its not what you would expect. It certainly threw me. You would think it was just a lovely little pub in the middle of houses that served carvery, don't get me wrong that's what it was. However the food was absolutely fantastic, very tasty, fresh, super selections of vegetables etc it really really was one of the nicest carvery's that I have ever had. The meats were sublime. You didn't get just one slice as you would at named carvery's but at least 3 slices and none of the meats were dry!!
I was very surprised at how busy it was, I would recommend booking. It was a Sunday afternoon we went. It was about £9.50 ish for a regular and for an extra £1.20 a large and worth every penny. It may be cheaper weekdays but I would highly recommend having a visit. Its hidden gems like this place that take you by surprise and 100%, we will be going back.

k. p.We celebrated my mother in law's birthday here today, we were a party of 14. We were welcomed and Laura went the extra mile to make sure it was special. The food and service was lovely Paul and Holly on the bar. And Dion was a great help. Laura did a birthday design with the desert we ordered for the birthday girl and even sang happy birthday. Then when my little girls desert wasn't up to the best quality Laura quickly rectified this and we had a very happy little girl. Would defo come again even as a big party. Thankyou again to all the friendly staff at the windmill. Your all doing great!

B.Food was nice not a large selection on veg especially if your not a meat eater just green beans n carrots peas (can't have mash or cauliflower cheese I'm dairy intolerant) and no dairy free option in ice cream which is no good if your dairy intolerant so got an ice cream on the way home but ok for the price and the kids had to pay for toppings on there ice creams separately? At 50p for about 6 minstels bit cheeky

I had a great time last night, Saturday 1 June with my Girlfriend & her Mum. The Food from the Carvery was very nice & enjoyed a nice relaxing drink prior to ordering our food. We've been here a few times and could never fault this place. Absolutely enjoyed everything. Prices are also good value.

I must admit looking at the two pies and fish that was there on offer too did not look appealing the fish seemed greasy and pies looked over cooked. All veg were cooked spot and and everything was hot.
We both had a dessert i had the blackcherry cheesecake which was very nice, maybe a bigger portion for 3.99 would be better. And my dad had the bottomless ice, nothing needs to be said about that.. i need to add Jess was very helpful and attentive. thanks and we will be back.
T. D.I ordered the chicken rap,waited ages only to be served a breaded chicken burger cut into cubes then rapped in a bread rap, the premises were clean staff did not seem to be happy if they were then they did kot know how to smile. The staff were polite and served you.

I understand it says coated chicken, however it does not state chicken burger cut into cubes.
I was expecting coated fillets as it says in the menu I looked at.
There is a big difference in cheap chicken burger cut up and coated fillets

For the carvery itself cost me £5 pounds something can't be exact to the pence mind. Now I'm leaving this feedback at present because I've been coming to the windmill for many years since I was a child infact and it's only ever improved to my knowledge. I have seen the odd celebrity within this building over my time. I.e. Shane ward xfacter, cast from hollyokes, shameless and emmerdale...
Staff here are well dressed and excellent service.

H.The food is cooked well and the kitchen staff that serve the meat are fantastic and brilliant with the kids, the bar staff are lovely bit the landlady is horrible, they had entertainment on in the form of karaoke and my boys both under 4 years old, were told to stop dancing and go sit down, you have got music on and a little cleared spare which most would assume is a dance floor area but no not according to this landlady, it is a non dancing pub even whilst karaoke is on. Have not been back since.

l. t.The food was lovely arrived at 11.45 on Saturday the tables and menus were sticky cutlery was placed In jars on the tables not wrapped no serviettes my friend ordered two lattes no coffee in them just hot milk the table next to ours had been cleared but not wiped so at least four people came to sit then walked away as the table was dirty my ice cream had marshmallow on top they were hards as bricks must have been left without a lid on it’s such a shame as the meal was lovely but standards not good I did complain about the coffee which was deducted from the bill but as this was my friends birthday and he paid the bill I didn’t want to spoil his day

S. L.The Windmill has changed hands ma y times. It's baisically a Cavery with addition of a Pizza Bar which wasn't open on weekday lunchtime when I was there. I'm Vegitarisn & always use thhe vegetables as a main course. The Yorkshire Puddings can be eaten as a Veggie as well as the gravy & roast potatoes .Unfortunately the plates were not warmed to my lunch was lukewarm. However the dessert knocked my socks off!! Mmm try the Chocolate fudge cake with Ice cream!!
