Reviews of The Barge

Plenty of parking.
Dogs allowed.
Easily found on the main road..
Outdoor seating area available.
Indoor seating pleasant although felt a bit cramped.
Menu tricky to navigate around, not the clearest as to what's served until when, and certainly not the largest print.
On a day with 30 degrees there is no air con in there.
Neither are there any fans at all, and for this simple reason we left.
The best area is actually out the front where the seating area is on the grass by the trees. This is actually quite beautiful here !

Lovely little (dog friendly) pub in Woolstone, wide food menu including burgers, pizzas, fishcakes and lasagna. We were able to book a table online with an hour's notice and the staff were really friendly. Treats and a water bowl for our furry friend were provided, the food was yum. Only slight criticism is the drinks took a long time to come each time we ordered and some didn't turn up at all. But overall the place is good value for money and a nice atmosphere. Would happily go back.

Barge inn Woolstone is a beautiful pub, located in a very nice area. They food is very nice and the staff is so kind and lovely. Were served by Allison which was lovely and very helpful. The portions can be very small, so if you are hungry make sure to as roughly how big the portion will be. It is quite expensive for what you get, but I think that have to do with the whole Covid thing.

Absolute hidden gem! My family and I booked for a Sunday lunch yesterday and I cannot praise the whole experience enough. We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we walked in. We had a drink in the garden before lunch in the sun, them we were treated to one of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had! The staff were also very attentive and so helpful. I genuinely couldn't fault a single thing it was that good. We will definitely be returning soon! Thank you to all at The Barge.

The staff were good although service was a bit slow. The refurbishment is great and the menus are very interesting although there were a number of items and drinks not available. So I tried the rib eye steak and it was delicious and cooked to perfection so top marks for our food. We fell out of love with the Barge a few years ago but I'm sure we will now go back.

What a lovely pub, big car park next to the lake. Very nicely done up both inside and out with a big outdoor space at the back and the front. Food quality was excellent and portions were huge (even the kids). Service was a little slow but it was a busy, sunny Sunday so can let them off! Will definitely be recommending your one

Decor is beautiful, warm & welcoming, a refreshing new look that was long overdue, lovely comfy seating. Nice to see some new additions to the menu, something for everyone to tickle the taste buds!
Lack of staff on hand to greet and seat guests, I understand another customer was being dealt with, however, I wasn't even acknowledged when I walked in, which isn't good practice. But that's my only negative

Stopped here from a drive back to London to refuel after our daughters graduation - and what a real gem of a find! Just off the motorway, but set in beautiful surroundings, with a pleasant garden and really good food and menu choices. The star of the show however was the service....all too often, and especially recently, the hospitality service has proven to be of really low quality...But not here. Simona was absolutely fantastic - what a pleasure to see a hardworking, conscientious and attentive host and waitress - this young lady will go far in this profession. Her enthusiasm, humour and work ethic certainly did not go unnoticed, and she worked incredibly hard keeping all her tables happy and ensuring all customers were looked after. A huge well done to her and The Barge!

We recently had a family lunch buffet in the upper area of The Barge. The pub has just been refurbished and looks lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, even getting an extra table for the children to use as a colouring table. Everyone was happy with the food and special diets were catered for. We were allowed to stay longer than our booking time in the upper restaurant and that was much appreciated.

This was our first visit since the refurbishment and we loved our dinner for my wife's birthday last week.
The food was good quality and good value for money and my wife and daughter certainly appreciated the complimentary 'birthday bubble'.
Friday night was very busy and the staff did a great job.
I'm recommending The Barge for any occasion...
