Reviews of The Barley Mow

Good varied menu.
Mostly traditional pub food.
There is plenty of seating inside, and plenty of seating areas outside. Outside has a large area with views of the canal.
There is a car park but it seems to get full fairly quickly, so you may have to park on the road.
Easy to get to via road or walkway next to the Grand Union canal.
You order and pay at the bar, so remember your table number.
Dogs are welcome both inside and outside the pub.
Intact this is very dog friendly offering dog ice cream, and dog sausages !! Ask when ordering.
Friendly staff.
Good selection of real ales and lagers.
Food did take 40 minutes to arrive, however we did visit on a sunny Sunday afternoon so it was fairly busy.... hopefully this was just a one off !!
I would still visit again despite this.
Great for family dinners/lunches as they have large circular tables in the garden that can hold 8 people.

Outstanding restaurant food is delicious, service is amazing from the lovely waitress to the bar Staff and the landlord! So welcoming, Such a beautiful well kept place, and will definitely be making this place our go to restaurant in the future!

Lovely location, staff and food. Well balanced menu catering for all tastes. I had the chicken and bacon lasagna with just a side salad no chips and was glad I did, perfectly full after, no room for desert which was a shame but a good reason to go back. My other half had ham egg and chips, eggs cooked to perfection runny yolk but no yucky white, ham very tasty and chips lovely. It was busy but not crowded with a rock and roll disco outside (plenty of room outside as well) music loud enough to hear but not deafening. I would suggest booking a table on popular evenings eg Mother's Day. To quote Arnie "I'll be back" thanks all xx

Always love to pop into the Harley mow. Fantastically located along the grand union canal and lovely food. When the weather is good, the garden is great and very large. Dog friendly being a massive bonus

Great lunchtime drink with family, gin and tonics, Guinness (cracking pint nice and cold ) and a stowford press cider, lots of space in the outside dining area and beer garden, although we did not actually eat there the food brought out to the other tables looked well presented and hot!
Definitely going back soon for another visit and possibly sample the food next time with plenty of choices available 👍

Great food and even better service. All the ladies working/serving were kind, attentive and friendly. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxed bite to eat. Accommodated our last minute booking without any problems. Will definitely return next time I visit my cousins in MK.

We were a group of 9 and wanted to sit outside as a result of the weather. We had to pre order as we were a large group but the staff at the pub were so accommodating! One of our group had to catch a flight so we asked if the kitchen could bring the food at different times and they did. They literally couldn't do enough for us including bringing water for our 4 legged guest. Beautiful views, lovely atmosphere and great food. Will be back! Xx

Been here a few times after a walk along the canal. This time we arrived just as they stopped selling food but as it was my sons 21st they kindly made us all baguettes and chips . The coronation chicken was so lovely . A big garden and a covered area to sit in . Great pub

Fab dog friendly pub on the canal side. With the Iron Bridge Aqueduct just a little way away it makes a great day out with a walk and finish with lunch or dinner at the Barley Mow. Had a fabulous meal, great service and reasonable prices. Recommended are burgers and fish and chips. Don't miss out!!

A quaint village pub in Cosgrove, Milton Keynes. Good food. Treats for dogs also-doggy icecream, which our dog loved. Nice large garden. Very popular pub so worth booking. Will go again.
