Fab gin bar, distilling their own gin on site - the first distillery within the city walls for over 200 years (or so I'm told). Delicious selection of gin with a range of tonics, relaxed vibe and friendly staff.

Had my daughters 30th birthday here last night . From our first contact with this place they could not have been more helpful . The building is really nice inside with a great range of drinks and we had buffet food which was excellent . But the best thing was the attention of the staff … always checking we were happy and couldn’t do enough for us . Thank you to you all x

The best Sunday lunches in town. Terrific quality and sufficient enough quantity! Cooked to perfection. I had the pork and the crackling on it was super crispy, big cut of pork and stuffing. I opted for an extra Yorkshire pudding too. Well recommended. Best book a table for Sunday lunch. Great bar, lovely place. *Update: added Chicken Sunday lunch and fish goujon starters. Both exemplary! This is the best Sunday lunches in the city centre!

Fired down a somewhat turbo style solo Guinness on a Thursday evening here. It was fairly quiet so the choice of seating or standing area was optimal. No issues with anything really. Standard enough city central price, which isn't so cheap but not so extreme plus it's a nice looking bar. I may not return so quickly because it's way off my beaten drinking track, but I would give it the thumbs up to anyone who might ask for my opinion of the joint.

Good food a nice atmosphere we booked a table yesterday had a nice meal however the table that we were set for was right next to the door so when people were coming in and out it became very drafty and cold. The staff eventually moved us to another table. Good beer they also have their own gin distillery so it makes a nice change from the norm

I've heard it's a decent bar and I have not been disappointed. What's more of a pleasant surprise is that they do quite good food as well! I especially loved the small plates like sweet potato fries, cod bites and spring rolls. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a drink but also nice food and snacks. Great espresso Martini by the way. Ah and one last thing, I went on a Friday night and they had live music at around 8pm!

Food is amazing and at a good price for how lovely it tastes. The beers they have I didn't think we're that good, a bit flat and watered down, but they did have a fair few bottles on offer and loads of spirits and cocktails. Great place for dinner and a couple of drinks.

Amazing Gin. I would certainly recommend the gin and ting cocktail! Great food menu with lots of nice delicious small plates. The black pudding scotch egg was my favourite. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. I will Defiantly be back!

We had two Sunday Lunches and two white wines! We had a living social voucher and really felt we got a great deal! My husband had a pork lunch and I had a trio of meats (pork, beef & chicken). They were both fab. Really tasty! Atmosphere is great - a real chilled out vibe!

Great menu, very nice to meet the craftmanship when it xomes to the Gin. Friendly staff and good food. We just stopped by (to get out of the rain) but if we ever return to Newcastle (we're from the Netherlands ), we're sure to come back here.

First time in Bealim House and loved it. Cosy ish, warm and plenty standing and seating. Toilets must have been ok - i had a bad toilet experience on a night out. I was there for a works night out and we had a buffet which was fine. The vegan platters looked very, very good. Would recommend as a small location for friday night drinks after work. Order platters and not buffet.

Had a great time here for a friend's birthday, and I say that as a non-gin-drinker. Or at least not usually - if you don't drink gin normally, you should try the gin here as it's a little "softer" than many popular brands. I quite liked it :-) Try the raspberry gin sling - even non-gin-drinkers will like it. It's also a fascinating place for a wander around, as the way the gin still is incorporated into the building really is quite unique. Another worthy addition to Newcastle's increasingly interesting line-up of bars.

Such a nice venue and lots of space to spread out in, the serve yourself keg table is a great idea for a group to catch up and chat! Could do with having a toilet on the top floor if possible, yet fantastic location too

I'm not local to Newcastle, but I would happily come here again. I had a delicious halloumi and portobello mushroom burger for lunch, served with a hearty portion of perfectly cooked chips. The service was very friendly, and the welcome warm. Perhaps could have been a bit quicker, but we came in at a peak time. It's conveniently located for fans of the footy too, being behind the Gallowgate end of St James' Park. I'm not a gin drinker, but they did seem to stock a lot of specialist gins too.
