First time here and it was lovely. Went for dinner with a friend & the atmosphere was lovely, the bar staff & kitchen staff were so friendly & welcoming, the service was brilliant & the food was amazing! We got served by Dan & Arron they were both so friendly & polite. Dan was very easy to talk to and made sure we were satisfied with our meals and drinks. We will defiantly be back again soon 🙂

Went for lunch with a friend of mine, atmosphere was lovely, bar staff and kitchen staff were friendly and welcoming to us, food was served quickly and was delicious. Had conversations with Dan who appeared to be new but was very approachable and made sure we were satisfied with the drinks and food. Will definitely be back thankyou ☺️

We always look forward to meeting up at the Black Bull. Always enjoyed our meals there, and mostly very happy with the food. However, when we met up recently there was no fish and chips left, nor beef and ale pie. There was scampi and chips left. I decided on the Buffalo Cauliflower wings, very disappointed, quite greasy. They were better the last time. Friends tasted them and said the same. Hopefully better next time.

When Mal from footy suggested going to the black bull I admit I wasn't keen. I remember the meat raffles and tap best scotch of the old black bull. But fair play, they've given it a lick of paint and a refurb from p7 of the Greene King pub design catalogue and...its perfectly pleasant. Staff were friendly, beer was grand and there were plenty of tables outside. Not going to win uniquest pub in Britain any time some but a perfectly nice place to have a couple of pints.

Very good pub with loads of room and great selection of alcoholic beverages and food. Unfortunately the toilets were a little dirty and the water from the dog bowls spilled all over the floor making the evening a bit slippery. 4 out of 5 stars is a very good rating as there should always be room to improve. Some of the words I’ve read on here do not reflect my experiences of this great pub. People are not easily fooled and can easily tell the difference between a genuine review with real information and a brief, bitter or bland comment by someone with an axe to grind. The truth is, every establishment is prone to the odd hiccup for a variety of reasons beyond the control of management. I’m a discerning person, and this is absolutely my favourite local. The food is proper pub grub, the servers, efficient, happy and always polite. The food and drinks menu is extensive and seasonal to a satisfactory standard representing generally good value for money - especially with different deals on different days - it’s always worth checking them out online. We’re really fortunate to have this pub just a few minutes’ walk away from home. I love the place and will continue to visit. Recommended without reservation.

Love this place an old favourite from back in the day, I came in last week for food as a staff member from the another bar I pop into had came here to work tell him Kim says hi. In regards to the food the burgers are nice and well presented my hubby had gammon and said it was delicious. it's more spacious than I remember but that's a good thing the staff are really friendly and the place was clean and well lresented. We will be back in the near future.

Unreal pub and the manager is seemed to cover all bases, he's friendly and professional with an unreal sense of satisfaction. I've been to many pubs by Greene kings but this is by far the best, the service is exceptional and the manner of the place is vibrant. What a place, we can't wait to get back there. Bravo all round. We call into the Black Bull when visiting family. This time because of Covid some changes i.e. they now have an outside area that takes a part of the carpark but because the carpark is large it doesn't make any difference. As soon as we entered the bar we were approached and asked if we wanted to eat (they have always done good food) as the kitchen had electrical problems they were waiting on the electrician. We were only going to have a drink so no problem. I found this very professional of them to tell us before we had even ordered a drink. The whole place was very clean and a good pint of Guinness.

Its a lovely friendly place with amazing staff. Great waiter service too. The problem is some of the food. My starter was soup which was ok but a bit on the cool side. My turkey and cranberry pie tasted sour and the sprouts had a lot of sugar in. A few of our table had Turkey dinner which i am told had no taste. The dessert menu went down well though with my friends. The low score is on the food only and no refexion on staff. Presentation was good.

Used to be a nice bar to go to after work for a few games of pool and a beer, or meeting up with mates before town, but they've priced themselves out of the market after a recent refurbishment. It is nicely done out now, and they are now dog friendly, but after they added 1 to 2 pounds to nearly every drink, it's no longer a good place for a casual drink. The food is good if you're after a nice steak or a burger (they're a Flaming Grill) and that's probably the market they're targeting now, but it's a bit of a shame it's no longer the evening meet-up spot it used to be.

In visting 21st sept not the best pub ment to close at 10 pm due to close down rules but were told to leave at 9.45 with out chance to even finish drinks pub was VERY quite so there was no problem in ever closing at the time that was stated STAFF were not very helpful at all WILL not be returning which is a shame as was a regular vistor as liked the pub 😞 This my last review Black Bill is back how it use to be staff friendly good range of drinkies from the pump to spirits food very good 👍

Great pub, great food. Staff aren't very cheerful on often occasions. Got a 60 pound fine for parking there when there were minimal if not no signs. Please be aware this is not free parking

If you're around the area looking for a place to grab a drink, the Black Bull is probably the best call. Decent food as well from what I can tell having only tried a few dishes and sides. Minus one star as asked for a gin& tonic and had it served in a stella artois beer glass with what looked like half a bucket of ice.

Booked by Mam for Xmas dinner. 3 course meal for three of us including a full bottle of Prosecco. Started with prawn cocktails, main course was a really large Xmas dinner, thick turkey, pigs in blankets, yorkshire puddings, buttery mash+roasties with another 4 veg. Sweet was one Xmas pud with custard, two cheesecake with 6 marshmallows on top, cream+caramel sauce. Very good value for £28.50. Party going on at other side of bar so we enjoyed all their live music. Truly a day to enjoy.
