Went on a quiet Wednesday night, but have been many times and for different occasions. Love this place. Great range of drinks and always good music, funky decor but always the same great atmosphere. 2 for £12 9n Cocktails on Wednesday is a nice treat too!

Nice decor (especially the ceiling), the bar is one of the prettiest I’ve seen, the feel of the place is very chilled out, attentive staff, quick service and reasonably-priced drinks. Booths are comfortable and room is very spacious.

We popped in here randomly after hear live music, we had an awesome couple hours drinking some pretty nice cocktails and listening to some great live music. The staff were super friendly and the decor and atmosphere is brilliant.

We came here on a Thursday evening and it wasn’t very busy however it meant we got a choice of tables which is a bonus. The decor inside is amazing and very quirky. All of the cocktails we had were delicious (and we had quite a few). They were also on offer for 2 for £12 which was a bonus. The staff were kind enough to let us know when last orders were approaching so we could get a few extra drinks in. I would definitely go again and would recommend you coming here to enjoy the experience.

I arranged to meet friends here before dining elsewhere. We all wished we could just have stayed all night. The decor is amazing and the service is superb. Loved the 'spin the wheel' (won 10% off a round). There was also the added bonus of live acoustic music. We all loved it so much we dashed back for last orders after we'd eaten and had a couple of delicious cocktails accompanied by complementary popcorn. We'll definitely be returning.

Visited on a Friday night for a work colleagues retirement. Surprised we all got in, normally these places employ the fun police and stop groups but in we went! Not a bad place, the music was alright not the usual thump-thump sh!te that gets played.

I love this place because they sell Goslings Black Seal Rum! It's my absolute favourite and anytime I visit Newcastle I will be stopping here. Cons: the tables can be sticky and barely looked after. Still a really nice atmosphere though.

Another pub that is a, must visit, bottom of Dean Street beside the roundabout. Table service and lots to choose from. Keep your eyes open and look around to see the different things on display.

Lovely bar, would highly recommend if you enjoy live music and a relaxed environment; this is the perfect place to have a catch up with friends or an intimate date. We pre-booked a table in advance, when we arrived they asked us to order at the bar and come back over as they were cleaning our table. It was nice to know that they are cleaning down between each customer to stop the spread of covid. There was an array of cocktails or draft beers to choose from, would definitely recommend passionfruit martini 🤤 The seating area was really comfy and the decor is very well put together. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. They also have a function room which you can rent out for parties. You can also use this area when there isn't a function on, but there isn't any music in that area.

Really liked atmosphere in here. Last review was 2 years ago. But glad to say it hasn't changed. Great for a cocktail. Get your times right to spin for cheaper drinks. UPDATE. April 2022. 1 x Southern Comfort and lemonade, 1 x double Kraken and Coke. 1 x Smirnoff Espresso Cocktail. ( on draught ? ) £26 +. EEK. Moved on. LOL PLUS for info. They DONT sell Gluten free beers.

I quite enjoyed this place. Prices are quite steep, but the aesthetic is nice enough. Myself, along with my partner, were invited to spin the wheel behind the bar, where you could land a free drink or a 10% or 20% off your order. We got 20% off and it was still expensive! Never mind. There was also a deal on where the cocktails were 2 for £12, so that was very reasonable indeed. I do have to take off a star from my rating, however, and this is due to the awful mojito I received. The barmaid put almost no syrup into the cocktail, and then proceeded to bash the (not very) fresh mint until it was a pulverised mess, thus rendering the drink bitter and sour, and not in a good way. Alas, I could not enjoy this drink at all. We need to treat the mint carefully, people! The mint must be respected! All-in-all, this place is decent and I certainly will be returning in the future. Please fix your mojito though!

Loved this pub! Fabulous decor, loads of cocktails and unusual beers on draft. Pretty garden area you can access from inside the pub. Wish we could have stayed longer to listen to the live music. There's spin the wheel between (I think) 5.30pm and 7pm where you could get your drinks half price or free. We weren't that lucky but I did get a free shot.

Attended this weird but wonderful place on Saturday and Melissa the shot/bomb girl was amazing. I’m sure she remembers our group, we were the very loud and very drunk table with two Welshman, two English ladies and one Frenchman. We bought a lot of drinks from her that night and she was brilliant. As was the place in general. 5 stars for sure.

Was at the hired function last night for my friends 21st birthday, really enjoyed the atmosphere of the bar. Only thing was that the girl that was working on the bar in the function room was the rudest girl I’ve ever seen behind a bar. She didn’t know how to make an alperol spritz and when she was asked if there was any soda for it she rolled her eyes. One of my friends asked her if she had a deal on shots she rolled her eyes. When I approached the bar to buy a drink she told me she would be two seconds and wondered off for 10 minutes, instead of just serving the one person waiting to be served. But apart from that one member of staff the rest were lovely that were at the main bar and actually seemed like they wanted to be there

This is a good bar to hang out in over the weekend. Cocktails are good and draught Jakehead, a locally brewed beer from the acclaimed Wylam Brewery, is served. The decor is quirky and part of the charm of this place. Seating is available in- and outside.

Mixed feelings about this place. Went for restaurant week....mediocre starter but fab main. Service varied from poor to attentive and friendly depending on staff. Cocktails were disapointing. Strange ambience...guy playing piano and singing was great bit a little loud for dinner chat but it was better than when he wasn't playing cos you could just here shouting and screaming from drink punters in the bar area. Id try again on the basis of the quality of the main course (beef shin) but wouldn't necessarily recommend to friends yet

My wife and I went for the Restaurant Week Special this learly evening. Enjoyed the decor, atmosphere and music. The food portions though small were very good and surprisingly filling and good value for money. We intended to share a dessert but our very pleasant and attentive waitressw tasked to cocktail duty and no other member of staff came to take our further order despite what appeared to be front of house staff standing at the bar. One of the quirkiest and most relaxing restaurants I've been to. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Prices are good, food was great. Drink choice is excellent too. But you'll spend most of your time gazing around at the decor!

Gorgeous Sunday dinner with a beautiful desert. Very pleasant and polite staff. Went on my own although I suffer with epilepsy and felt very looked after by staff. Went for second time today with a lady friend. Had an absolutely amazing vegetables selection. Kale, fresh peas, parsnips, gorgeous sweet carrots, mash and roast potatoes. Had the sirloin myself and it was gorgeous. My lady friend had the pork with crackling. She was stunned and actually cuddled the chef who personally served us. Had all 3 courses and I recommend the sticky toffee pudding with pistachio ice cream as a desert. It's gorgeous

Used to be Oldfields restaurant but sometime ago was changed to a bar. It's at a good location and when invisited it, early on a Friday evening it was sort of busy. What an eclectic taste for the interior decor, some nice and weird decorations with a miss match of art deco furniture, stuffed animals, flags, skiing equipment and old toys. There are several areas to enjoy a drink, indoors and outdoors. There is a function room that you can reserve for special occasions. There is also table service which is not very common and pop corn in a tea cup was given alongside our ordered beers. I will be going back.

The restaurant would have been given 5 stars if they had charged a reasonable price for soft drinks. £4 for a coke is disgusting which probably cost them less than 10p. I know it's all about making a profit but without customers there will never be any profit. Food great but it was totally spoilt by the cost of soft drinks.

I took a friend here for a ‘tipsy tea’. A quirky environment and delicious food, we particularly enjoyed the scones. However, of the 5 waiters working, only one girl seemed to be doing any work. As a result it was 45 mins before we even received a cup of tea. She was brilliant but deserved the wages of the rest of the lazy crew. Two of which decided to clear the table as we tried to put our coats on. They had a conversation across us. It was rude and unnecessary, I’m sure they could have waited 30 seconds for us to leave.
