Went to Earl of Pitt Street for Sunday lunch. Managed to grab a last minute table booking for two. The staff were absolutely incredible, great service and excellent camaraderie made us feel so comfortable and at home straight away. The food was lovely, everything was cooked really nicely, the beef fell apart. The only thing I'd say is that it could have done with a little more seasoning, but it was still very tasty. We had a great time and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking to have a great sunday lunch.

It was my husbands birthday so I went online and seen reviews, so decided to go rang up to book, food was amazing friendly staff, then I got bill at end, witch they had put extra charges on. I asked them to clarify this , which they did and it was wrong, then I realised it was wrong. I payed for it. My husband got a 2 course for £20 and I got a three course for £23 then there was an extra charge of £5 for my beef and an extra charge of £5 for my prawns so watch out for the hidden air charges your not just paying for a 3 or two course meal this left a bitter taste prices should be more clear. Sorry I won’t return because of this…. Don’t mind paying for good food but I felt as if your charges where hidden on menu most be more clearer for customer

Food was excellent, only thing that I could fault is the unclear supplementary charges for specific dishes. Menus should ideally show price of the meal, also I prefer menus to be a bit more professionally produced and not on A4 paper. If owners can take onboard my constructive honest feedback I am sure more guests would return.

Two very good courses for £15 was a real pre-match treat. Sunday roasts are top notch too, and there's always at least a couple of interesting beers on the bar. Slightly out on a limb from town, but well worth the effort to seek it out. Quirky decor is interesting too, but I won't spoil the surprise :-)

Found this place nearby where we are staying for a couple of nights and OMG what a find! The food is absolutely delicious, in fact the smell as you walk on gets your mouth watering. All the staff were lovely and very helpful. Would definitely recommend you try this place when in Newcastle 😃

Something of a hidden gem that deserves to be better known. A lovely place to sit and enjoy a drink with friends, with a good choice of drinks that are very reasonably priced. Also the ladies toilets are great (never underestimate the power of clean and shiny toilets to improve your visit to anywhere!) The food is very good indeed, with an interesting focus on East Asian dishes. Recommended.

What an amazing Sunday lunch that my partner and I both had. Its a must. Lovely brownie and pistachio ice cream pudding that we both shared but as I'm allergic to nuts, they put the ice cream on a separate plate for my partner to still have as he enjoys pistachios. Lovely, friendly and accommodating staff. The decor upstairs was great also. We'll be back asap☺

Fancy a 5 course meal or just want to bring your date to a nice place, this is apt for that. The dishes are delicious and the staff is welcoming. Both the managers have happy go lucky attitude towards things and creates a positive environment. The bar area is gorgeous and the interiors elevate the place. Value for money is surprisingly good and the service is quick.

Only found out about this business during lock down and been waiting to go since. For anybody who ever went to the "barn" restaurants in Newcastle (Barn Asia, Barn under a Wandering Star, or Electric East) the menu will look very familiar (as is the same person involved). Excellent food and friendly staff - what more can anyone ask for? Highly recommended and will certainly be going back again.

What a fantastic place this is. A warm welcome on arrival and we were directed upstairs to the restaurant where a further warm welcome awaited is. It was restaurant week with a good selection of dishes available from the 2 or 3 course menu. The food was delivered not too long after we had placed our order and the quality was exceptional considering the price we were being asked to pay. There is a discretional 10% service charge but really, I never have a problem tipping staff of the food and service are good and on this occasion I was more than happy with the service charge. I would certainly recommend the Earl of Pitt Street to any discerning individual who knows good food when he gets it. I will be going back soon to test the normal menu and I am confident I won't be disappointed.

A little gem off the beaten track of central Newcastle but seriously worth a visit. Staff are amazing.... great welcome. You can try a taste of the cask ales to see what you think. Great meals cooked to perfection and to order and very nicely presented. Just the right portion size to feel satisfied but comfortable. Genuinely a lovely place and highly recommended.

Traditional pub downstairs, nice for a drink with a good range of bar nibbles and a great dining room on the first floor. From the same stable as Barn Again, Eggy Dippy cafe and Barn Asia, theres nothing to dislike about this eatery.

Really nice place, tucked away from the main part of town so you've got to know it's there which is great! Food and drink reasonably priced, if you're looking for a cheap meal look elsewhere. We went as a big group, some people were very late but this wasn't a problem, we weren't made to feel rushed and the staff and service was spot on. We went on a Sunday so it was a Sunday menu but there was other food available such as curry which was good. The kids menu was great, there were a few specific meals for kids or half portions available of anything on the main menu and was three courses! I would recommended this place highly and would definitely go back.

We had a great time yesterday in the restaurant. We were with a group of 11 people and the food was great and the service was quick and friendly. My only recommendation would be to have an extra veggie option, or vary the vegetarian options regularly. However I can highly recommend this place. Great food and service.

Hidden gem of a place with quirky, Hitchcock inspired decor and an inventive menu which everyone agreed was uniformly lush. I'd heard good things about this bar/restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. The food is outstanding and I nearly always have the beef it just falls apart. They are very friendly, attentive to all your need. The staff are always friendly and happy. I live about 35 mins away and will still travel as it's so good. The roast chicken is really big too and beautiful. Top nosh

Good food, nice service. Upstairs is more of a restaurant and downstairs is a bar. Both spacious. We went there for Christmas dinner and as a Vegan I got very nice nut roast as main and chocolate tart with coconut ice cream for pudding.

First the positive, food was amazing portion sizes are decent, couple extra toasties and mash would be excellent as you only get 2 roasties. Negatives are that, drinks are expensive, we didn't receive the child starter which came with the meal despite the waitress prompting us it was part of the kids deal. A table for 6 adults and a child seat was booked and table became free whilst there however we were shown upstairs meaning we had to leave the buggy downstairs. The table upstairs was located right next to the door meaning we had constant stream of people going past us when eating which was off putting.

We will be regulars here from now on. The food is fabulous (check out the belly pork, its to die for) and the staff are excellent. So many establishments call themselves 'gastro pubs' but fall short of the mark. Not the Earl. I can't praise it enough! They don't charge if you bring your own cake either.

A hidden gem - if every boarded up pub re-emerged as a friendly independent local pub with great food, a welcoming atmosphere and some quirky touches the world would be a better place. No TVs, plenty of dining space upstairs, a good mix of beers on tap, a good crowd. Amazing food - the Barn Asia/Electric East team have created a great spot to go with friends if you want to meet up on the west side of the city.

Lovely food as always but getting a bit pricey.We had a sharing nacho between three which was delicious but very small,two lamb curries, fish and chips two glasses of wine and a coke all of which came to £86.50.This is the sixth time this year we have been and unfortunately I think they are starting to price themselves out of the pop out for tea market.I wouldn't put anyone off going to try the food but be very careful of the bill
