I was probably the oldest person there by some distance, which served to remind me just how old I am. But the offers were good, and even the toilet hand tissue tax thing wasn't a massive burden, but always unappealing.

Always been a cosy corner to end your night in harmony with the city's vibe. Popular in recovering your nights if you didn't get much fun, top charts pop music playing to keep you in the mood.

Decent bar with a wide range of drinks. Staff are friendly and it attracts a good crowd. If you go during the week especially the drinks are very cheap. The venue isn't huge but there is seating and also a dance floor. That is located on the diamond strip so there are plenty of bars nearby too.

Love Empress. Great pre bar. Drinks deals are always good value for money, and the music is usually amazing. Would stay all night if we could've but it gets quiet around 1pm. We went the Saturday before a bank holiday so it wasn't too busy which was nice, as sometimes you have to have a fight on to get near the bar.

Empress is normally a lively busy bar. Due to the drink prices and deals expect the bar to be busy at all times. There is music here mostly playing dancey chart music. The staff are friendly but due to the demand do have to serve you quickly. Very good place to come before going out in the town after as the prices are good and can get a lot of drinks in different deals.

Me and 8 others went there for our friends stag do, the lady and gent behind the bar were both really nice and contributed to our night. Great place with great atmosphere and great staff. The selection of drinks was impressive too. We'll be back I'm sure!

Love this bar. Prices are cheap, the music is good and it always seems to be buzzing when I go. Gas chambers are great fun and definitely make it feel unique compared to other bars. Definitely recommend

One of the best for bar service! Bar staff are friendly, skilled, and offer a wide range of cheap, tasty drinks. DJs aren't limited to the hits either, so you can hear some really great playlists on a night out.

Far too old for this place. Dived in for a drink as Perdu was closed as I hadn't been in since I was 21. If the tattoos didn't suggest otherwise I would have sworn half the patrons were underage.

Only went to collect daughters phone from previous night , manager went above and beyond to find it which he did ...the cleaner had put it on charge in the office to allow find my phone to work .. full credit to all staff involved thank you

By far the best bar in Newcastle with it unique decor, unreal music, excellent bar service, friendly door staff, great cocktails - beers & spirits section with prices that don't kill your bank balance. Highly recommend and a place to be if your coming to Newcastle on a night out/weekend away.

The drinks cost an average of 5 pounds. (Original) Pieni ja siisti yökerho. Sisäänpääsy oli ilmainen ja paikassa ei ollut erillistä narikkaa. Lauantai-iltana paikka oli niin täynnä, että liikkuminen oli hankalaa. Juomat maksoi keskimäärin 5 puntaa.

Student fee people count the place whatever day.
