Not been into the bar for a while. Great selection of ale’s which were well kept and poured. Now that I know they have a great selection of proper ale’s I will definitely be back. Friendly staff. The fire alarm brought thing’s to premature end 😳😉Nice pint of Jarl

We used to visit Fitzgeralds 2/3 times per week in 80's and 90's. Always enjoyed it. As family grew visits became less frequent. This time it was a late Friday afternoon pop-in. It was busy and bustling. Mixed crowd but mainly seniors. Good level of chat and crucially no overbearing music. That might have changed later that evening. Good selection of beers available. Good welcome from the staff. Enjoyable hour or so. Nice one Fitzgeralds.

For me this is one of the best bars in Newcastle City Centre. The beers are well kept and there is a good range. I also drink red wine. For me the merlot is OK and the malbec is good. It is a big, comfortable bar typically used by people older than 30. Toilets are good. The staff are excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

Remember this place well 20 odd years ago when I was young and single! Now it's a bit classier and the average age when we were here on a Wednesday evening before theatre was about 60🤣 sure it's different later on tho! Bar is at other end from door and it's a fairly long building. Good range of beers and LOADS of gins so great for us. They do food and have a small menu of pub classics. We were sat on a table next to an elderly man who never shut up -- even though he was by himself 🤔

A few minutes walk down from monument metro so really easy to find. To get to the bar you have to make your way to the back which I remember from years ago when it's busy it's not an easy task. That being said it's real nice and inside and they serve a great selection of beers. Food looked really nice but I didn't stay for that. Definitely visit again next time I'm in town.

Decent pub. Very well presented inside and always clean and tidy inside, toilets kept clean too. Prices are very steep - 2 pints and a glass of wine came to £17, bit pricey for a round. Clientele inside is of the older persuasion. Wouldn't drink in there for long but ok for a quick stop for a pint if you're around Monument.

Very nice pub not far from the station, large open grand feeling to it. I am told it is busy at the weekend, but I was there for a mid-week lunch and it was fairly quiet. Good selection of beers and a broad enough menu. The food was good value and was of a very good pub standard.

Comfortable pub and able to have a conversation with friends as no loud music. No cocktails but they have a gin and whisky menu although not priced individually. Gin menu very varied but just says between £7.50 and £11or something. Be warned as 6 of one could cost you a lot!! Newcastle is getting like London for pricing :/

This pub hasn't changed in years. The decor is fresh but it's the same layout. Lots of space to stand and also plenty of seats around. Good pint if Guinness and quite a large bar with plenty of staff so service was quick

Very respectable city central bar. Not particularly 'cool or hip' but a decent drinking space. Beers are steadily priced with a good generic selection across the alcoholic board. It attracts the older crowd but that's fine. Fairly big so seating is aplenty. If you're looking to hit the arguably trendier Harry's, Luga or PTMY across the way and they're rammed, then come here instead.

I have always love this pub from my first trip from work in the 90s (never made it back to work that day 😂😂) to a real ale pub crawl in twenteens. SJF keep the pub and the beers well and the staff are always friendly. It's one of those rare pubs that attracts a mixture of customers and so I don't think anyone would feel out of place regardless of age and whether they are dressed up or casually.

Had arranged to meet family there at 7:00 on a Friday night, I wasn't looking forward to it but turned out excellent. Very civilised mainly older people, no TV (some music) loads of staff, easy to get served. Only downside drinks quite expensive, but it is the in the centre of Newcastle, so not surprising.

Odd shaped Fitzgeralds pub. Long walk to the back where it opens up in a large space that houses a long bar. This pub was my least favourite ( and frequented) Fitzys bar, however it has been done out and looks more in keeping with the rest of their pubs. Beer was good, it was clean and comfy

There's a few good beers on offer but they are just slightly above what you'd expect to pay in Newcastle. There's a lot of seating but the decoration is a bit dated and needs some updating and taking care of.
