Completely different pub from when we came a few month back. The minute we walked in it felt friendly and welcoming, we got served very fast and food came in about 20 min and we couldn't fault it at all. We booked in again before leaving for a family birthday as we were so impressed.

We held a wake here. We ordered the gold buffet which was so good. Everybody said it was the best buffet they had in a long time. The staff were very lovely too. Big thanks to them all.

Popped into the fox last week and had the best visit. came in with family for a birthday meal and the food was fantastic, I had the chicken kebab and it was cooked perfectly. We got talking to a young lady called Rebecca and she was telling us about breakfast starting up so we are looking forward to that.

Food was nice but ladies toilets had no lights on and couldn't find switch. Accessible toilet disgusting. Pee on floor and seat dirty. When going to tell someone I waited at bar and no one came, they seemed to ignore me.

This place is what you would expect for a large brewery chain with a kitchen. Don't expect gourmet food, but it does what it does well. Plenty of space during a weekday lunch to keep out of people's way and wait for a funeral at the Crem down the road. There were three different groups doing that when I was in. For Newcastle and the West Road there is a lot worse and not much better.

Went in for meal with a few friends, team leader Bee was great. There was a real buzz about the place, staff were swarming to serve us and one even gave me a hive five. Will come back.

Booked a table for 11 no problem for my son's birthday. Beef roasts were lovely. My son ordered the chicken challenge it was huge and he really enjoyed it.. server Tania was lovely and very polite. We eat here often and never have a problem.

Not as good as I remember , had a Sunday lunch only for the mash Patato to taste like microwave mash from Asda , Gravy far too thick & waited half an hour for a desert wasn’t impressed only 1 waiter on too wasn’t impressed at all

Went for a family meal, 8 adults n 3 kids. Did some of the challenge meals. The food was excellent piping hot and cooked perfectly. The kids meals were a really great size ( larger than most kids meals ). Would definitely recommend.

Cheap and cheerful no frills eatery, useful for a bite before their quiz on Thursdays. Service a little slow all of the time, and if you ask for a variation on what's offered on the menu, they tend to get a bit flustered, and you end up making do with what you're given, otherwise you risk another long wait... Quizmaster is very pleasant and warming. The venue should realise that he is good for their business.

Lovely service from under staffed pub, the 2 that where on where friendly and approachable. The food was left on a hot plate so dry, and uneven portions and bits missing. Childrens plate where to hot to handle. Well done to staff working Xmas day.

Decent place for a drink! Don't go here if you just popping in for a quick feed though. Food takes ages most of the time ( even though most, if not all the stuff coming in pre cooked/frozen) and is very hit and miss.

I was looking for somewhere to eat in Benwell as I'm not from these parts and was advised by a gentleman that the Fox and Hounds was a nice pub that did food so headed there. Whilst there I ordered a 'Motherclucker' which is a man v food challenge.....my God it was huge! I had to flatten it down with my hand as it was the only way I could get it in my mouth. The pub itself is nice, the staff are friendly and it's very reasonably priced. The only letdown was the toilets, they could do with a bit of money spent on the cubicles, other than that I would gladly return for another meal.

Good pub but toilets are a bit of a mess one has had a black bin bag over the urinal for months. And the other has a leaking pipe. You would think for a business that serves food this would be a priority. Hygiene is not good enough.

It's not posh by any means but the all day breakfast was fresh and great value for what you got.. the stuff they used was not cheap crap - decent sausages and bacon, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, chips and toast with decent bread.. all for 4.50 how can you go wrong.. had a breakfast in a greasy spoon on westgate road the other week called the oven door and it was vile compared to this.. tinned tomatoes on your breakfast and it was cheap produce and priced higher than this.. defo will go again.. hope the main meals are as good

Thursday 25 th October . Quiz night. Totally ruined by drunken - or other - fulled inmates causing mayhem !! Fighting , broken glasses etc. Staff unable to control as no help for them from management. .Appalling situation.Green King need to address this before something really serious happens.
