Lovely food and atmosphere... Great start to the theater trip. They have lots of specials and a good drinks menu. However they couldn't make a lemonade with some strawberry syrup... I don't know why, as its a massive stocked bar 🤷🏻‍♂️ but they couldn't. 🙈 Great food, tho.

We went here for a meal before a theatre show for my hen do! The food was absolutely incredible! Everyone finished thier plates. Its location is perfect, right near the theatre. The staff were very friendly and made time to come over and talk to us all. The place also looks great, decorated very nicely and has a good vibe. I would 100% recommend!

Had an absolutely amazing 3 course meal. Staff were lovely and helpful with special reqests/allergies. Even got a free birthday dessert! Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, decent prices. A fantastic treat that isn't going to break the bank. Next time I am in town, I will definitely be back.

I mean it's good, nice theme, confident of itself. Very popular and lots of cocktails to choose from. Poor cider selection, staff are quick to server and the bar is huge! Never had any problems in there. The bouncers will point out and deny entry for trainers so you've been warned!

Visited today with my Dad for restaurant week. The whole experience was faultless and an absolute pleasure. We were served by Mo who was engaging with us from the start with friendly conversation and recommendations from the menu. I had braised beef and Dad had chicken supreme. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and tasted great. This was such a warm happy place to have lunch. It was well managed and organised. Definitely returning. Thanks team Harry’s!!

Very good. It's the second I have being there, & it was a very enjo6able experience. I went with a friend before the theatre. We had a drink at the bar first, then went to the restaurant. The atmosphere was very relax & most enjoyable. The service was good & our starter & main meal excellent. Nice, relaxing & very good all around.

Bar staff were great on Monday and Tuesday this week even through some extremely drunk women shouting and screaming them, barking orders and such but they handled it really well. Really professional and know the drinks menu well, very good recommendations from one girl about beer. Overall great experience here both nights. Only downside is there’s no offers on cocktails like other competing bars.

Had a decent meal, not the cheapest place to eat but not the most expensive either, somewhere in the middle. Great for a night out, Great music suitable for all ages. It was packed when we visited but the barstaff were quick to serve and not much crowding at the bar. Only downside was that the bouncers were quick to suggest when someone had drank too much, we had just finished our meal and went to get seated nearer the music and one came up and asked how much we had to drink.... we had most of the drink with our meal. Probably not a bad thing but it put us off a bit. All in all a great night with a good crowd, good dj and good atmosphere.

Amazing place, great atmosphere and delicious food. Very attentive and pleasant staff too.

Went for Sunday lunch, roast beef, out of this world! Two thick slices, pink, tender with fat marbled through. Duck fat roasties and a very tasty Yorkshire pudding and a small side of veg. First meal here but no way the last. Staff are convivial and helpful, in fact I think I'll book next Sunday now. Thank you Harry's Bar & Restaurant staff.

Nice ambience, we went for a pre show meal ,advertise in window, asked a member of staff for menu, he had been there since November, he had never heard of it, eventually found menu, ordered at bar got charged wrony price , another member of staff sorted that out, meal came , but had to go back up to bar no cutlery, had starter, taken away main came quickly, but no new cutlery again, very poor service , average food .

Service on the other hand is somewhat lacking - for a restaurant that has invested heavily in the aesthetics, please, do some staff training and improve the customer service experience. It really does undermine the whole experience.

A very busy pub with a lively atmosphere. We were there for a work Christmas function - food was great, service was good, but we thought the table could have been decorated more to give a festive feel to it. Fairly pricey at £25 per head for the set menu.

A iconic place in the middle of Newcastle it has everything, a fantastic atmosphere coupled with great food & experienced staff a must if your visiting the city, due to its popularity it can get very busy so it may make sense to book a table if you want to eat. Not the cheapest of establishments however if you want to have a good time in really nice surroundings this is the place to find both.

We only had special coffees in Harry's Bar which is directly opposite the Theatre Royal (impressive) before we headed back to the hotel after having eaten in a lovely local restaurant. We did have to wait a while to be served but the coffees were nice. It's got a very romantic vibe. Stylish decor and definitely worth a visit.

Quite a lively and loud bar in Grey Street opposite the Theatre Royal. Drinks area reasonably priced for the area. Music is varied but generally lively and putting you in the mood to dance. The age range of the drinkers and revellers is mixed, ranging between 20 and 50. The bar itself is split level. The lower area is seated just inside the front door and it’s quicker to get served at this bar as it’s quieter. The upstairs area is much bigger with an area to stand or dance. Can take a while to get served at this bar but no longer than normal in busy bars. Plenty of seating scattered about but they are often full at the weekends.

Good place to drink, music is always booming especially on the weekends. The drink prices were very cheap for City Centre in my opinion. The only problem I had was being told to leave after 'falling asleep on the bar' I was having really bad hiccups waiting for my drink but I cannot argue how professional it was handled. The door staff handled it well and were very pleasant which I have no bad feelings towards. Will most definitely be back again.

My visit was during Newcastle food week, the menu i felt was limited which they offered was limited. I suppose the normal menu is larger. The food was ok i had mushrooms on toast for starter, braised beef for main and a shot of sambucca for desert😊. The mushrooms were nice however i felt the toast had been stood too long.The beef was tender and had plenty if flavour and the gravy was quite nice but i did not have very much mash on my plate and very little veg. Other people in my company had pepperoni pizza which was served under cooked in the middle and seemed like a very unorganised arrangement of topping with big chunks of peppers etc. Just didnt look very nice as far as pizza goes. All in all i am curious to give it another go on a normal week and see if the food improves. I was impressed with the place and was very nice inside, stylish decor, cozy and romantic feel and staff were very acommodating and professional.

Not sure where the previous reviewers are coming from regarding the social distancing measures, but we thought the bar was run very efficiently with good social distancing practices in place for all to see, without measures being overly onerous. We were seated in our booth and drinks were served by staff and when visitors left, tables were sanitized prior to the next visitors being seated. The atmosphere was great......a typical Harry's bar atmosphere and we had a great time......you can't beat Harry's for a night out in Newcastle

Have had drinks in bar but never eaten here. It's restaurant week in Newcastle so 2 courses for £15- feathered beef fell apart and chicken lovely and moist. If you get garlic bread don't think it's just a couple of slices cos you get full pizza size 🐷. Really busy even tho it was only 5pm but service very quick.

Really great bar and fantastic food this is one of Newcastles best bars. I have never seen any kind of trouble all the staff are friendly. It gets really busy on weekends but you still have no problem getting served at the bar. Drinks aren't the cheapest but still not to bad. If you are going for a night in Newcastle I would definitely recommend this bar for anyone 25 and over its not a young kids bar

Love this place. Great menu and the food tasted so good. I had fish cakes for starter & they were fantastic. Had lamb shoulder for main and the meat was so tender and tasty. They've got a bar joined on to the side of the restaurant, with a dance floor and music. If you like eating in peace then go during the day and not on a Friday or Saturday evening. It's a great atmosphere, if you're planning on going out out afterwards.

The bar area is always busy, given the situation of the place. I'd definitely go back. I suggest pre booking, we booked on the day, about 3 hours prior, and were accommodated no problem. it's not somewhere I'd go for a special occasion, but ideal for food while shopping or visiting the theatre .
