I love this pub, always a lovely place to be with a great atmosphere. It was mad busy yesterday because of the match but the staff were still serving fast and being very friendly even though they were rushed off their feet. Great pub with such a good selection of beers!

Nice pub, obviously very popular every day of the week. Food was either cheese board or meat. I had the meat which was roast beef, ham, scotch egg, pickle etc. Very nice and good value too. Beer (real ale) good too.

I've been here twice and both times I sat outside. I went in to grab a drink this time and got served right away by going to a gap at the bar. It was pretty busy. We'd just been to the cinema but Google didn't ask for a review of that. The cinema was the Everyman, I would say it's a great cinema for people who don't really like cinemas. It's like a friend's house with a bar.

There‘s a strange bald guy hanging out by the bar all the time. He claims he‘s from Austria, yet his charm is otherworldly. His name is Nico, I believe, and he is more than happy to buy you a pint or two. 11/10 would recommend.

A favourite haunt with an excellent selection of ales and whiskeys. I don't know a better whiskey bar in Newcastle. We've had all sorts from single malt scotch to Japanese whiskey. A great place with lots of character and stays open late.

First time visiting last night and I fell in love with the place, a perfect dark and stormy bar for socialising and drinking good beer. The inside horse-shoe bar and interior is fab, a simple and effective decor. The alcohol selection was varied with particularly good Whiskeys and a range of cask and draught beers. Love a gin? It's not my thing but they got you covered here too! The outside seating area makes a sound effort too with better tables and seats than most offer, and, outdoor heating! Can't wait to go back!

One of my favourite pubs in the town for its relaxed atmosphere and easy going clientele. They've got a brilliant outdoor setup at the moment with pergola type coverings with heaters on one side (needs pre booking) and European style street seating next to the building. Gives great wind and elements cover. Also people are bringing their dogs which is nice. Our party wasn't drinking that night but we had a lovely catchup over teas and soft drinks. Our server was lovely and being able to use the toilets was a bonus. Can recommend for chilled out drinks and catch ups but book if you would like a heater

Thought I'd seen it all in 45 years of drinking, but tonight, 27/9/21, asked for a pint of blonde and a medium chardonnay the young bar maid gave me a pint of blonde and TWO glasses of chardonnay. I told her I had asked for only one and she acknowledged this and charged me for just the pint and one glass of wine as requested. She acknowledged her mistake and threw the other glass of wine down the sink!!! She looked about 10 without a morsel of commen sense!! She had made a simple mistake, not our fault but why not just pour it into the other glass as a freebie?? Amazing!

Lovely pub with a very friendly atmosphere. It's really handy for down so a useful place to rest your feet up and have a drink whilst you are out shopping without being too fat out of the way. It can get really busy at times but it's worth the wait. Handy for a quick drink before the performance of you are attending an event at the Theatre Royal with it being just over the road and around the corner.

A very good selection of beer, and unlike many pubs they tend to offer a good range of tastes, rather than just a load of citrus pale ales. The whisky selection is excellent, and the food is usually great. The downside is that it's likely to be very busy, but if you find it just lively, then go for it.

Great beers and atmosphere but went in for a Sunday roast and was disappointed. Waited nearly an hour and got beef (ordered pork) and when the pudding came out it had obviously been sat for ages and the custard was mostly skin! Would 100% recommend for beers, but can’t recommend going for food

My only gripe is that it's often insanely busy. If you like extremely crowded bars then go for it. It's a great little place if you catch it on a day when it isn't mega packed.

Very cozy little town bar that disguises its façade as a quirky old timey pub on the inside. Very small with one central U shaped bar with 2 snug areas either-side with window seating and that’s it. However the selection of drinks is brilliant and as it’s out of the way from the regular drinking routes there’s a sense of privacy and community about the joint. Vibes were great as Joy division and Bloc Party were faintly tuning away on the speakers.

Good spirits selection all round tbh, friendly, helpful staff and I just had the most spectacular sandwich ever here (roast stottie of the day, beef). Honestly, the gravy was unbelievable, generous serving of meat and nothing in the stottie that wasn't on the menu. Think this is my local now, it's only 3 miles away.

I know it's an ale emporium but they have whisky and are reluctant to list their bottles. The reason they give is that it quickly goes out of date... I mean just list all the whisky in a coherent way and if it runs out. Buy more. As a local whisky enthusiast I may be willing to help.

Expensive and over hyped for a standard and small pub in the middle of Newcastle. The beer is OK, the staff can be inattentive and in my experience, rude. OK for a pint on a quiet afternoon but give it a miss when it gets busier as you will spend longer trying to get a drink than you will spend drinking it.

This is the pub I usually visit if I'm going to the Theatre Royal, as it is opposite the Theatre. The pub was previously called 'The Adelphi' and was very much a football pub (walls were covered in memorabilia). Its only been the Lady Grey the last several years. It has changed a lot since then. Its a mixture of clientele for one. Though some football fans do still frequent on match days (probably because of the ale) its crowd in the evenings is usually theatre goers, and people out for nice drink. As the Lady does serve a nice selection of ales. Clean and tidy, nice decor, it has with a degree of style, and nice atmosphere. A good spot if your out on a date with your Lady.

I found lady greys to be a friendly pub with helpful considerate staff.I went there with my girlfriend Valerie who has serious mental problems. . The staff were brilliant. . Unfortunately Valerie soiled herself .but the staff were there to help me .supplying buckets & mops.. A very good city pub. It was called the Adelphi years ago. First pub my father took me to when Tommy Bacon was the manager. Now in its current format it is comfortable and provides great products. The beers on draft are kept very well and there is always a good and wide selection. The bar window overlooks the stage door of the Theatre Royal so you never know who you might see.

Lady Greys is hands-down one of the best pubs in Newcastle. I'd say the best way to sum up the experience is variety - a brilliant variety of ales, decent music (although it's quiet and doesn't ruin the atmosphere) and friendly staff. I also recommend everyone to try the food as it's absolutely delicious.
