Lovely pub in Newcastle city centre, just near to the train station. The bar staff were friendly & attentive. The bar area was nice and clean. The toilets were clean and stocked with the essentials and were gender neutral. Decent range of real ale. Decent music and a pleasant atmosphere.

Visited for dinner and a few beers on a Wednesday night and we weren't disappointed. Friendly staff, great pizzas and the goats cheese salad was fantastic. I'm not a beer expert but there was clearly a very good range. Thanks to Spencer the chef and the lovely waitress whose name I didn't catch unfortunately.

This is a great bar with excellent choice of beers. We love visiting to try different beers which are changed regularly. Pizzas are also delicious!

Delicious yet profusely disappointing. Might be one of the best pizzas in town, however the scarce amount of toppings has definitely put us off coming back. In all honesty, it doesn’t matter which one you order - after you bite off the 5 pieces of toppings you will be left with a margarita anyways! Sauces for 90p each are absolutely great if you’re a Lilliput…

Visit this place on Thursday nice friendly. Pizza look good but we had eaten. Reason for 3 star rating . Very untidy loads of glasses on one end of bar the other end loads plates. Not sure whether they had dishwasher but no excuse 2 barstaff and chef doing pizzas. 😉

This is a lovely pub in Newcastle city centre, quite near to the train station. The bar staff were friendly and attentive. The bar area was nice and clean. There is a decent range of real ale available here. The food they serve is a variety of pizza flatbreads. I had the ‘is it meat you’re looking for’ option, which was really tasty. Decent music and a pleasant atmosphere.

We recently enjoyed a fantastic evening here. The bartenders were pleasant and informed about the vast drink selection. There was a beer to suit everyone's tastes. We ate here as well, and both of our pizzas were cooked to order, fresh and crispy, and very tasty. I enjoyed the TV above the door that showed the drinks that people were checking in on the Untappd app. On the screen, you can see other people are checking in, which provides you a sense of what other people are drinking at the tap. I'll surely return, especially as it's only a few minutes' walk from newcastle central railway station.

This is a very nice bar/pub just opposite Central Station. There is a wide range of cask & keg craft/real ales and other styles. All are well kept & served. I had nduja sausage with fresh chilli pizza and salad. Really good & made fresh every time. Highly recommend!

Very polite staff (incl. doorman), great choice of drinks and tasty pizzas, neither of which we had to wait too long for. Clean toilets. Only constructive criticism would be for staff to ensure the disabled loo has toilet roll as my girlfriend had to ask for some, although they were quick to help so I'd feel bad to 'dock points' for this as everything else was great.

Amazing pizza, one of the best I’ve ever had. Party of 5 of us ordered the n’duja sausage, Cajun chicken (large) and a margarita (small) which were prefect sizes for us. The pizza was so good that I went up to shake the chef’s, Spence, hand (Covid style). 100% recommend the pizzas!

Very friendly front of house staff, she greeted us at the door, recommended drinks and got them over to us quickly, couldn't fault her. The food smelt amazing (unfortunately we had already ate, wish we had eaten here instead). Kitchen is customer facing, chef seemed calm and efficient while preparing and serving up, not your usual flustered kitchen. Will definitely be back.

Great beer selection... The dark (Stout?) that I had was very tasty. The pizza was so so...a bit thinner than I like but still tasty. They could work on their food menu a bit, but, that isn't the prime emphasis of this place... It's a pub that happens to serve pizza. Overall a good experience. Not too loud (no thumping music to make your head throb like the place on the other side of the Hampton)... Noisier than I prefer but still able to hold a conversation with the people across the table.

Update - after Mike's fair response I will get myself in next time in town and give his kegs another go. Maybe 3 stars is a bit tight as I do like the bar and the staff have always been friendly. 3 stars (good but not great) overall. Came here on a Thursday around 6pm wth friends, it was about 1/4 full so not busy. The ambience is good, it's a nice place, modern (bordering on hipster), comfortable seating. Dog friendly so don't come here if you don't like dogs around when you're eating, just in case. I don't mind, my friend had her 2 (well behaved) dogs with us and no-one minded. Nice big windows so plenty of natural light. A big bar with a large craft beer selection. Food is mostly pizza. Service good, prices OK - typical of any city centre, about £7 for small (snack) pizza and glass of wine. I'd give 4 stars but the pizza was nothing special - lacking in flavour and a bit floury, not bad but had a lot better.

My new favourite pub. Nice decor, stone baked pizzas, nice bar snacks (watch out for the scotch bonnet peanuts). Staff make a place like this and these are just the best, seemed in to the beer and will even play music requests within reason. The beer is great, huge selection something for everyone. Just watch what you're ordering, I'd had a few before we turned up so stuck to the weakest that they had but towards the end of the night, accidentally ordered a few 7%ers and blacked out. Still the best night I've had in years, just great to drink, chat and eat in a cracking atmosphere.

This is a really nice bar in a great location. Opposite Central Station and next to Head of Steam. They sell a very good range of keg, cask and canned/bottled beers and ciders, though many of the bottles and cans are very expensive. The pizzas are lovely - the small size is great if you want a quick bite.

Especially when it's busy, the staff don't have time to talk about the beers and make good recommendations. A few printed flyers describing the beers with a taste profile would be very useful indeed.

My new local! The only place in town for fresh Bernard Czech beer (try the Unfiltered and the Dark-my favourites! 😉). Great selection of cask, kegged and bottled beers too . If beer's not your thing they have a decent selection of wine, spirits and soft drinks. Freshly baked sourdough pizza is also available that is delicious !! Friendly, knowledgeable staff are on hand to furnish you with your chosen refreshment, enjoy!

I visited the Newcastle Tap, which is perfectly located opposite the main train station in Newcastle. A good sized bar, with plenty of choices of different beers from around the world on tap. As I've only been to the Newcastle Tap the one time, I am unsure how often they change these beers, or even if they do. But if they don't, there is still plenty to choose from, you will find one you love easily.

I particularly like this place for its great selection of beers. Staff are friendly and there's something cool about seeing all the kegs behind glass on the mezzanine floor above the bar. A tad pricy but what a selection and staff are very knowledgeable. If you tell them what your usual style of beer or larger is they'll point you in the right direction. The pizzas are excellent too.

If you aren't sure about a particular ale. They will quite happily give you a small amount in the bottom of the glass for yo to try. Which I thought was nice. It's quite cosy and isn't too noisy. Had a nice high ceiling and the clientele had a mix of everyone. The toilets on the other hand were utterly disgusting. Floor covered in urine which was foul. This brings the score down to a mediocre three and this massively detracts from an otherwise great experience.

A fantasia of barrels! Most being Firkins in the elevated glass fronted cellar, but not to be missed is the wall clad entirely in barrel staves - beautiful. The ale was on good form as expected in a Tap outlet, the smell of pizza is intoxicating - only able to resist purchase due to the need to catch an imminent train.
