Really nice bar, not a huge selection of bars on tap but loads if other drinks to choose from as well. It's super cute and small, but really cosy and has a great night out vibe. It's a great hidden gem which I always love visiting.

A great little bar that seems so far removed from the hustle and bustle of town. On the pricier side for drinks but they have a good selection. I believe they still get guests in to take over the kitchen and as such they always have a really good food menu on. Service is always great too

Great for a comfortable night out. Music from most genre's can be enjoyed as well as themed nights. Open late and has a happy hour till 9pm serving cocktails and a comprehensive choice of beers and ciders.

Surprising bar restaurant facilities hidden a bit amongst Grainger Market off Nelson Street. Enjoyed great drinks and service, no food this time but next time maybe.

Staff were nice although a little 'patchy' e.g. friendly but didn't know what beers/drinks they have, didn't supply napkins - but hell the food is GREAT! The wings are fall off the bone tender and with a great flavour combo of a tangy wing sauce and a blue cheese dressing with celery - so good. Fries cooked in beef dripping are very crisp and weren't over done, loaded with generous amounts of parmesan shavings, all the way down. The triple burger.... best burger I've had, a must try, so well put together, and something essentially dead simple but done brilliantly. I'll be back.

Excellent niche bar tucked out of the way a little from the major bar areas in Newcastle. Loads of staff so it doesn't take long to get served. Great music and atmosphere. Slightly more pricey but it deters the knackers.

Best burger I've ever had and I have a LOT of experience. We went twice in our weeks stay because it was so good which meant missing out on really nice looking sea food restaurants that I really wanted to try. The service was brilliant (they were very busy but just about kept on top of it) and they offered us free shots on the house at the end. They also offered brilliant locally brewed beers - I tried the bloom IPA - best I've had.

Tapas with a twist! Great food and prosecco flowing. Had a lovely afternoon. Tapas different to the usual ones you would expect but very tasty. Ended up getting a selection done by the chef and we all enjoyed it. Booked again for our Christmas night out. Staff very attentive and friendly. Would recommend.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would - The food is amazing and it is, in my opinion, the best burger in Newcastle! I've not been in late a night so not sure about the bar but No. 28 has really funky decor and a relaxed atmosphere. An absolute must visit for the food when in Newcastle!!!

Didn't know this place existed. Tucked away inside one of the entrances to Grainger Market and upstairs. We only stayed for one but it seemed nice. Helpful pink and blue doors tell you which toilet is which - in a stereotypical conformist binary kind of way!

Best burgers ever. I always order the double patty. Once had a mishap with overly salty burgers, they got back to me and offered a meal for two on them. That's what I call good customer care and makes me a sucker for that particular place. 😉

Meat:Stack burgers are the best in Newcastle. no.28 bar is pretty poor in comparison. Certainly needs better quality beer to justify the prices of their pints.

Setup as a prosecco lunch. So expect the occasional group of rowdy women. Otherwise a shade on the wrong side of hip. But the beer is good if limited and the chips are good.
