Popped in for a pub lunch on a Saturday for the pizza and a pint for £10 deal. Very welcoming and friendly, sat down in a cozy corner with our pram and enjoyed the rustic aesthetic of the bar. We ordered The Godfather and Notorious Big pizzas with two of the pubs own ales, a pint of lemonade and a plate of Dirty Curly fries for around £30. We watched as the chefs made the homemade pizzas in the kitchen window and they were phenomenal! Crispy and chewy sourdough base and fantastic toppings. They didn't have a baby change for us, understandable with it being a pub, but were very accommodating. 10/10, definitely coming back!

Some staff members are so dismissive, bordering on rude. Closed before 10 on a Saturday; claiming they wouldn't make any money, we were spending at least £15 a round and there were 20 more in the place 'but not enough students' all your eggs in one basket, always a good idea, and forget the locals who finish work at 8pm and just want to chill. Nice bar but not worth even going anymore.

Nice little pub close to work. I hear the pizzas are amazing from multiple sources. We just stopped in for a drink, but once I try the food I will update (note: the pizzas looked amazing). The staff was friendly and prompt. I recommend. Update: I finally tried the pizza and it was worth the hype! Highly recommend

Staff are friendly and welcoming to add to the quaint atmosphere. The location is central for uni students and hospital staff so it does tend to get busy at expected hours, especially on a Friday evening. However the service is still consistent regardless of how busy it is. Food is delicious and fresh and reasonably priced. One of the only issues is parking, as you will struggle to park close, however it is perfect for a taxi trip as you can be picked up and dropped off right near the door.

Brilliant Pub Quiz, our group are regularly there each week. Pizzas are incredible. Christian, Craig and the rest of the staff are amazing, so welcoming and provide a great atmosphere. Highly recommend!!

Busiest I've ever seen it although not a regular. Hand sanitizer at entrance, one way system marked but ignored by some. Staff on at about 4pm 20/8 very helpful and friendly. Limited on real cider but Symonds ok.

The North Terrace is a pub that traditionally was popular with the medical fraternity and students, being relatively close to the university and the Royal Victoria Infirmary, and it probably remains so. It offers a standard range of alcoholic drinks, with the addition of a couple of interesting ales, such as Beavertown Neck Oil , and there is food available too. The latter concentrates upon hot dogs, pizza, and fries and nachos, and these come in any number of permutations, with pulled pork and barbecue sauce for example. Decor is plain and unfussy, bar staff appear friendly and helpful, so if in Newcastle, give it a go!

It is a OK place. Beer is Ok and they have a pretty good Friday deal for pizzas. One of the problems is that you can't pay just one pint with yoir credit card because they have a minimum amount for cards.. So you have to buy always something more...

Soulful bar that has amazing pizzas and burgers around the area. The staff is very welcome and nice. The kitchen is honestly amazing... Never been disappointed. Definitely a must visit for a pint or to watch a game!

Very friendly and welcoming. We're in almost every week after training at the University. Unfortunately they stop serving food early on Sundays and at 9pm on weekdays, but we understand why and the atmosphere is always great for small groups like us.

Being so close to the university medical school this place is often the place to come for a nice quick lunch. Prices are reasonable, and food is nice with generous portions. Pizzas are a hit on a Friday for a fiver.

The general ambience is nice, cool but not pretentious. For me the issue was the beer, very poor selection and incredibly expensive. £4.20 for a Guinness? Daylight robbery. Good pizza though.

This has been a popular bar for quite some time now. About a year back it was fully refurbished which was definitely a good move. Whilst it's on the wrong side of town for me to hit as a regular, it certainly looks great, and the beer seems fine. Not cheap (as expected for a central-ish place) but the team seem friendly and for the doggo lovers, I've seen a few of them in there too. I don't want dogs in a bar, so no five stars for that reason alone. Upstairs is a tidy function space for your private party nights, and there was a pool table last time I took a nosey. Give it a visit.

Chilled out place, good for drinks and pet friendly. Live band in the ground floor and often there are blues and Tango dance socials and classes at the top floor. Little dissapointed about their food given the price tag and it's quality. But other than that, chilled out atmosphere place plus it's pet friendly I think!
