Its a quiet pub, hidden away, its a type of pub if you didn't know that it was there could be easily missed. This house used to belong to the Duke of Northumberland at one time in the houses life. That was before it became a public house in the late 1960 early 1970s. I know I was there.

A lovely tucked out of the way pub in glorious, expansive gardens with plenty of safe seating for families, dogs are welcome too. We got a wonderful warm and friendly welcome from the lovely landlady. We'll definitely pop back.

Great selection of beers and food served daily. Sports on TV in the bar area with a separate dining area if you want a family meal, or you can eat in the bar. They also do themed nights such as steak and wine etc and also have veggie options. The Piper has a big beer garden with plenty of picnic style benches and covered chalets along with swings, climbing frames and a slide for the kids which is all enclosed in the beer garden and easily visible so you can keep an eye on your little ones. Beer garden is a nice sun trap as well. Service is really quick, would definately recommend!

Had a delicious lunch with friends. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating! Generous portions of proper home-made food along with a roaring fire - couldn't ask for more! Oh and the wine was very reasonable too!

Great lasses and the food was nice although could not eat the mince as it was way to salty. Tables extremely sticky. But we would go back its a lovely place.

Good old fashioned bare wooden floor , out of the way pub, worth a visit. Not a big place but big enough . Dog friendly. Nice meals. Well kempt. Log fire to sit beside, if you're lucky on a cold night. Just go.

Came here for food and drinks on Saturday night. Booked table for the night on the phone, no problem. Wife had steak and I had sausage and mash. Delicious and not too pricey ☺️ Table service was great and the barman made us laugh. Top marks, going to make this place a regular!

Lovely food, we chose 3 items from the starters menu and it was ample for 2 for a lunchtime treat. Wine could have been more chilled but it went down well. You lost a star because our server didn't wear a mask.

Lovely food and drink. Staff are friendly with quick service. Great for dogs too (drinking bowls and can buy dog treats which money goes towards guide dogs charity).

Food is reasonably priced and they have an amazing gluten free selection. The guy who take the orders is super friendly and welcoming. Great place to take the kids as they have quite a large outdoor playground. They have also installed little covid secure wooden huts and a marquee, perfect if it starts spitting.

It's tough to fault the Piper. Staff are always lovely, beer is always decent and the food, especially at those prices is fantastic. None of them frozen chips carry on, proper home style cooking and massive. Spot on. Good beer garden too.

Had a brilliant evening there. Food was excellent, even though there was a fairly large party of us no one had to wait too long for their meal. Staff were friendly and courteous throughout. Would definitely recommend. The burgers and pizza were unbelievably ginormous !! I had scampi, very tasty, my mum had gammon and she thoroughly enjoyed it, others had chicken, steak, pie etc and everyone said their meal was good. A good night was had by all.

Cosy friendly pub, very good selection of drinks the staff are great very polite and helpful, good menu as well as having themed nights and all very reasonably priced, the background music is loud enough to hear but quiet enough so you can talk. The log burner gives this bar a warm homely feeling, definitely somewhere you can sit and pass a couple of hours. Definitely recommend

I was here for a function, using the upstairs room. It was compact and doesn't hold a great many guests. This did not dampen the mood as there was a huge garden play area for kids, with enough seating for adults. I haven't tried the food, but from what I saw it looked like it serves a lovely Sunday Lunch

Nice atmosphere overall. Recently started going there for sunday lunch. Quite nice meals but lack of tables / seats. We either end up thrown in the back room or eating in the main bar area but suppose if it wasn't busy on Sundays I'd be asking why. Staff usually friendly and prices aren't bad at all

I'm giving it a 3 because the food was quite good. Plenty of it, and real !home cooked chips. I found the pub itsf really dingy though, and baring in mind cleanliness is the highest priority right now I was disappointed! Its looking very tired.and in desperate need of a kick of paint. I managed to get my 3rd choice meal and there was no lager on tap, which shows the pub is obviously well liked by some! Just not me.

It was very pleasant with a brilliant barmaid called Emma. Very strict with the social distancing rules which was great. Hardly anybody there and we were put in the shade and froze . Beer was excellent.

Lovely traditional English Pub. Had a Sunday roast (lamb) and the missus had Corned Beef Pie. Meals were piping hot and service was good and quick. Only slight down side was Gammon and Lentil soup was a bit too mushy! All in all, good value for money.

My most local, local. You pay a bit more but the Piper is a lovely independent pub. A wide range of drinks, friendly staff and great atmosphere. It's also really family friendly, has a separate restaurant area and has a room you can book out for functions etc.

The place I lovely and friendly and has a great atmosphere. It's reasonably priced. Has a nice Playpark for the kids. A decent menu with plenty of options. I had potato skins to start which were nice and nicely presented. And then I had lasagne.. this is why my review only has 3 stars. I thought lasagne - you cant go wrong. But it came. And it looked odd. It was served on the plate but in a separate bowl (kind of standard) but looked like more of a pie. I started eating and it was like mash potato on top (at least that's what I think it was) I dug in to the rest of it and it had like one sheet (maybe two) of pasta. And all the mince was underneath. It didn't have layers like a lasagne should. And I didn't really get the tomato sauce or bechamel sauce flavours either.

Went on a quiet Wednesday lunchtime and was greeted by polite bar staff. Steak and Guinness pie was one of the best I've had in a long time and went well with a nice pint of San Miguel. Will definitely go back!

Food is very good. Unfortunately we have booked a table for birthday celebrations there twice and both times arrived to find no table reserved. Last visit the man in charge was very unfriendly, unhelpful, disagreeable. We will not be having a celebration there again with a large party we do not want stress of unreserved table again and upset of bad tempered manager.
