S. N.Food is great, but 3 small plates per person as the menu recommends is definitely quite a lot; having small plates is a really nice way to try more things however. The cocktails are unreal and there are quite interesting spins on classics. Service was very quick and staff were so welcoming and friendly!
N. S.Could not fault the place, staff so attentive they could not do enough and always friendly. Cocktails where nice but the tapas was amazing I loved the calamari especially. We couldn't even eat all the food we ordered as there was so much all cooked perfectly. It was a huge bargain 6 tapas and 6 cocktail for 2 people and came to less than £70 which included the tip. Would definitely go again
C. M.Came out with my girlfriend for her birthday (it was her first time dining here too). Great drinks, especially the pineapple rum teapot! Food was fantastic too - the price definitely matched the taste. Staff were always on hand to see if we wanted more food and drinks, which was a pleasant change to our usual evenings out.
Would definitely come back, especially for the live music and happy hour!
P.Went for bottomless brunch with a large group of friends and it was lovely! The servers were great, kept the cocktails flowing and kept bringing bottles of prosecco to each of our tables. Definitely got our moneys worth. The food was delicious.
C. D.Absolutely loved this place. I've been meaning to come here since it opened. I had to drag my other half here today and she loved it too. The cocktail happy hour is great - though it really annoys me that you have to get two the same. One of us was driving the next morning so we couldn't just double up on the ones we liked. Never mind. The tapas was lush - we got nachos with Cuban beef, jerk chicken (which was mega spicy) and patatas bravas (standard). I also got a nice pint of Camden pale ale on draught along with a couple of gin cocktails.
The atmosphere was chilled, the room bright and airy. I would have liked to check out the terrace but it was closed.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
Will definitely be back to sample more tapas and cocktails that I am desperate to try!
C.One of the best rum bars in town. Probably the best cocktail menu tbf... not had any food so can't rate food but decor atmosphere and drinks all 10/10 they do 241 on the cocktails so that's why I go here aswell as there rum selection.

As we arrived, the security guard was so friendly, funny and welcoming. The staff inside then showed us to our table and advised us that orders are taken through the QR code due to table service. When they found out it was my birthday, they kindly bought us some shots and a strawberry daiquiri with a sparkler to celebrate which was so lovely! The service was just amazing, the cocktails were delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic. Unfortunately not singing/dancing allowed due to the restrictions however they were playing fantastic music. The bar is absolutely massive.
Highly recommend this place, I would go there again if I am in Newcastle.

There is a discretionary 10% service charge automatically added on your bill and when you pay by card, the card machine also gives you the option to add an additional "tip".
L.Food is really nice and good value for money atmosphere is nice too. My only critism is when the bill came, on the bottom of the receipt was added optional 10% service charge. I was never asked if I wanted this added to the bill so it's not optional if not asked first and I think you should be asked if you want to have the 10% service charge added. You have to ask them when you pay to remove the service charge, Which made me feel uncomfortable. I prefer to pay my own tips what I choose to pay.
T. z.Gorgeous delicious food! Great atmosphere. Amazing customer service, good cocktails. Pet friendly, they even brought a water bowl for the puppy at the next table over. Definitely coming back here in the future.
H. C.The service was absolutely outstanding, bottomless brunch drink options were great. I thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry daquories and the prosecco. I ordered the breakfast burrito which I didn't think was great. I've had food here before on an evening and it was delightful so I was a little disappointed. I'm reluctant to even mention that the food wasn't the best this time because I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and everything else was great, alas I am cursed with being an honest individual.
P. S.Noisy place, but nice enough. Went for Mother's Day meal. All was good for the main part, though there were only 2 waitresses for a large place, and the food took a bit long to come.
The food itself was nice, and with the 2-4-1 tapas and 2-4-1 cocktails, it was reasonable value.
We did a later order of desert, but this took 30mins to come and what was supposed to be hot, was not...they did replace with another 10min wait, and made the deserts free, and offered a round of drinks on the house...so that was good, but the overall experience was spoiled.
It meant we (as a family) were in there when most family would not be, and the more noisy clients, mainly there for the bar, had arrived in....
Live music was a nice touch, food was nice enough, but not exceptional, and the search for really good Mexican food in Newcastle continues...
K. S.Lush rooftop terrace. Expect to be kicked out later (even if you've booked) in the evening as the terrace is often booked out. Cocktails are great, staff are professional and quick to serve. I had many good nights in here. I despise the establishments policital alignments and profanity on the walls.

Friendly efficient staff who are experts when it comes to cocktails. Mixture of draught beers such as Mahou, Corona, Camden pale ale, Peroni etc. Great that they cater for large parties and they do send out some good deals if you sign up for the newsletters via email. Central to both the train station and many of the other lively bars around the toon. They also stock a large selection of rums from around the Caribbean from the usually popular Havanna to some of my favourites such as Appleton or Bumbu.
S. D.I had my hen do at revolution de Cuba and we did a cocktail making class and it was really good. Ben is the bartender who was looking after us and he was absolutely brilliant. The cocktails were nice and we had a great time. Would definitely recommend.
M. V.Went for mother's day, they surprised my mum with a free gift bag of beauty samples and a Revolución gift card which was totally unexpected! Some of the items on the menu were not available so the waitresses were extremely apologetic and there was some confusion about our order, but the restaurant let us keep the tapas they mistakenly made for free which was such a nice surprise. Really genuinely friendly service from the staff, food was good too, with a great atmosphere and decoration.

p. s.Not the cheapest in the city but not the dearest.... Buffet was a bit naf over cooked chicken so dry it could have emptied the tyne. No forks hardly any food left after queuing for 10 minutes. Can't comment on any other normal food service.

A. b.Early tea tonight and was expecting a quiet restaurant but it was quite busy for midweek. Nice to have live music and the trio performing were really vibrant. As ever service was good and the food was lovely seems rude to say there was far too much but greed and the sharing starter meant we were stuffed at the end.

J. G.I was excited to go here. However, after my experience I doubt I'd go back. The food was very bland, my partners was actually burnt, the rice I had was welded onto the bowl.
The service was extremely slow. I asked for salt the waitress went off, came back to see how we were...had to ask for salt again. We waited 50 minutes for our starter and a further 30 for our mains.
On the plus side, the drinks were delicious. However, the wait for them is a bit too long.

L. O.I visited Revs de Cuba for my surprise birthday bottomless brunch a few weeks ago and the service was brilliant! The staff were very attentive and definitely didn't scrimp on the unlimited drinks. The setting on the rooftop terrace was fab. Will definitely be back again.
o. b.really good when new live music drinks aren't cheap. Roof terrace is brilliant. Some staff really know their rums and others seem to phone it in. Update the upstairs smells of mouldy caravan now.

A. D.We visited here last Saturday at 6.45 as a group of 8. We hadn't booked but were told there was a table available for an hour so we were seated and requested food and drink menus. A lady came with food menus but said there was a 45 min wait for food so we were unable to order as the table was booked. She said there was no drink menu available and advised us to scan the qr code to get the menu and she would come back and take the order. This took a while as the WiFi was down and the menu couldn't be accessed.
Meanwhile the table beside us attempted to order desert and were told they could but would have to be relocated to a different table to eat it. They requested the bill and left.
Our order was taken and delivered. We stayed at the table for over an hour and 30 mins without being asked to move or finish our drinks for the next booking meaning we would've had ample time to order and eat food. My friend requested the bill and brought this up to our server who was very apologetic but couldn't explain where the next booking for the table was . The card machine played up and the bar wouldn't accept cash meaning that some of the group paid for several drinks in order to clear the bill.
The staff were pleasant and were working hard but the booking system in place seemed to be mis communicated meaning the bar missed out unnecessarily on a substantial food order.

W.The place and atmosphere is great, everything looks absolutely gorgeous and so was the food, however I didn’t get a part of my dish (tenderstem broccoli on the salad) which we didn’t notice until we looked back at the menu after. I also ordered a strawberry daiquiri which was said to be made with real strawberries but it just tasted like watered rum and ice, and looked more light pink than a usual red for a strawberry daiquiri. When I asked for a remake as I couldn’t drink it, the second one tasted basically the same even though I was told they put more syrup in it. So was a bit disappointed about missing food and a unpleasant cocktail.

T. N. N.I've visited a couple of times with colleuges. My first experience was amazing where we got a booth downstairs with hats and maracas which where lots of fun to dance with to the music. The general atmosphere is really great which is why it gets so popular on a weekend. On following visits although lively, I found somewhat overcrowded and this reduced the experience for me personally. Still a brilliant place to visit where you won't be disappointed, perfect for casual work socials in my experiences!

A. G.We went on an afternoon for a couple of drinks and some food. We shared 3 tapas as a starter and had a main each. The mains are quite big so 2 tapas as a starter would have done us. All the food was really nice and tasty.
The drinks were good but the Old Fashioned was spoilt by melting ice (easily fixed by a single large ice cube if they get some).
I would recommend and we will probably try again some time.

Seemingly it has a roof top bar which would be fantastic in the summer and I cannot wait to try it out then , as it also has a retractable roof if the weather changes for the worse . R. T.This is one of the best places in Newcastle to get some cocktails! There´s hundreds of them, really well presented and we quite decent prices. (They have Happy Hour week days Mon-Fri) but also there´s some Salsa Lessons on Mondays, so worth a visit without any doubt!
R. C.I'll write this review on here, as no one emailed back to ask how our experience went. I booked for a work Christmas night out for around 13 people, the response from my co-workers was 'average'.
Food took too long between each course (came luke warm and not piping hot).
Not every dish on the menu explained each ingredient specifically and one person was allergic to a certain fruit, which was not stated in the dish (otherwise I would of added this to the allergy list).
The person I was emailing to organise this wasn't even there on the night, so when we went to talk to someone else they didn't really know at first and took about 15 minutes to get us sorted.
Another party was seated next to us (around 25/30), they were loud, it put a few people off from returning.
Cocktails tasted better than some of the food, a better place to get some 241 deals, but don't think our work would return again for a meal.
W. I.First visit for me. My daughter and I went for a pre theatre meal. The waiter was friendly and helpful without being overpowering. The food was good, the only thing that spoiled it was one of our choices not being available.
The toilets were very clean as well.

T. W.I first went on the opening night and absolutely loved the food, drinks, and atmosphere. Then I went back and apparently the loss of a few chefs really hurt the place. The food took ages to come out, it was overdone and I really struggle to understand why the dining area is filled with the louder, clubbier music at 4pm. Fair enough to have it in the other areas or late at night but why have a dedicated dining space if you don’t want people to come to eat and talk?
Drinks and service was great but at the price, I can’t recommend it for food anymore.
R.Great tapas and can't complain with 2-4-1 on a Sunday. The service was really good and it had a nice atmosphere. Probably more suited to dinner rather than lunch. I'll be trying the cocktails next time
j.Place was ok. A pint of lager and a non alcoholic Koperberg was £7.55 which is ok for Toon. Great space upstairs but the smell was bad, for some reason there are loads of plants around the room and there is mould on the ceiling above the bar. On the positive great view of the Toon.

We made the mistake of not booking to eat out on a Saturday afternoon and having wanted to try this place for a while we gave it a go, luckily for us they were able to sit us downstairs which we actually preferred in the end as it was abit more private and perfect for a quiet meal and few drinks as a couple. Really can't wait to get back as the food was so fresh and tasty and the drinks just as much!
P. S.I thought the tapas that we had; the nachos and the pork belly were superb and absolutely full of flavour. The drinks were good, but a little overpriced (£7 for 2 x coke zeros). The service was faultless and deserved praise. We werent left waiting once.
The main that we both had (burrito) was a little dry and lacking in flavour, spice and zing. It just didnt match the quality of the Tapas we had. Its a real shame as we couldnt fault anything else there. This is a lovely venue and as mentioned, the service was superb.
2 tasty burritos away from 5 stars though. Hindsight is a great thing, and we shouldve mentioned it at the time really - but we will definitely be back. Live guitarist on too who was exemplary.

Looking at other reviews... seems to be a theme of "over priced"..."small mortgage" mentioned...for example.. so... it's not just me then?? 😉👊
G. W.Had a brilliant night here, cocktails were beautiful if you chose the right one, some v v sweet but the Rum Reggae Punch was a winner. Food was nice but not dying about it. Atmosphere was BEAUTIFUL. Been to Revolucion in Belfast & it was a very good vibe, good music but Newcastle had live music on & I genuinely would go back again for this band (a lady singer & then two fellas playing instruments). Beautiful. Service & staff also excellent.

H. C. S.Similar to others of the same franchise, but somewhat larger. It has a bottom floor which is more music-oriented, so to say (music is loud and feels more like a nightclub), while the upper floor is calmer and has a smoking terrace. Music is alright, prices are somewhat expensive but not exorbitant, and the ambience is pleasant.
Z.Real nice, but pricey. I remember what it used to be, what a transformation! Visit if you are out.

G. L.A few of us came down for lunch to experience the Mojito and Burrito deal. Between us we had both the chicken and vegetarian options and we all couldn’t stop saying how nice they were. They were full size also, which was a plus! We then tried a range of deserts including the pineapple cake, brownie, churros and cheesecake, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed. We finished of with a round of coffees which were all served with a small brownie piece. Best lunch in town! It’s worth noting that there are some great midweek lunch deals too! From a previous visit, I’d definitely recommend the halloumi wrap!

L. R.Tapas is really good value for money and the service is excellent. The nachos, quesadillas and patatas bravas are a must-get and the filled churros for dessert are also great. It can get quite busy at night but the drink quality is worth it - our favourites are the caipirinha and margarita.
T. M.A lively restaurant/bar with a Latin vibe. Good food and very friendly staff great service. They also have live music on. There's a large roof terrace with a bar to save the walk back down to the main bar

We had a fabulous afternoon leaving do for a colleague. Firstly a lovely girl called Niamh managed to sort a private area for us !!
We enjoyed lots of lovely tapas, burgers, cocktails etc and the Prosecco was my favorite.
If that wasn't enough we were then led to the roof top garden where we continued to have an amazing time in the sun ! There was also a girl who served us but i'm unable to remember her name. The experience was a great one and i will return.

We were a group of 7, and had to tell them our choices in advance as we were having the set menu, which seems a little excessive. We arrived before any others were seated in the food area, and although we got our starters fairly quickly we were there 2 hours before our mains arrived.
