A great proper pub who caters to their clientele. Sports lovers won't be disappointed, an eclectic rather fab range of music being played. The regulars were very friendly, atmosphere was buzzing,and the beer was cold. Very reasonably priced. I'll visit again when I'm back in Newcastle

This is everything you want from a bar. As central as you can get in Newcastle city centre , very cheap drinks compared to most , great vibes , karaoke, good music , sports on the tvs , loads of characters and everyone with a smile on their face including all the staff. Will be back when we’re in Newcastle again . Thank you

Canny pub, decent atmos., always warm in the winter as it should be, reasonably priced drinks and the staff always quick and friendly. Music can be a tad on the loud side sometimes and it is a canny hike up the stairs to the gents but still a decent place to go for a couple of lunchtime swift ones.

Lovely friendly wee pub. Staff are chatty and friendly. Good selection of beers, wines, spirits and shots. Prices are reasonable and it was busy enough but not mobbed, we would definitely return if in Newcastle again. Downsides, toilets are upstairs and the disabled toilet on ground was broken. Ladies toilets were ok perhaps a 3 out of 5. My husband said the men's toilets weren't great and dreaded using them lol but all in all we really enjoyed ourselves in here.

Have not been in this pub for years, it is no longer the Dive that used to be. We went in for the karaoke, the sound system was very good and I liked the music he played in between the singers, might have given it 5 stars have I not had to go upstairs to the toilet.

Had another great night in the rose and crown last night made all the better by the great bar maid Amy,truly an asset to your pub,there was an elderly gentleman in last night who got a bit too drunk,Amy went out of her way to look after him,along with a young lad who's name i didn't catch.Amy eventually had to get the police to escort this gentleman home as he was very vulnerable,it was lovely to see how kind and caring she was,so thank you Amy and hope to see you again soon.
