Reviews of The Beehive
Visited on my recent visit to Newcastle on a Saturday night! Absolutely packed and a great atmosphere! Great service despite the amount of folk in the pub,and good value for money prices! A traditional pub, obviously popular with local people; always a good sign. Popped in there for a pint on Monday, before catching my train south, couldn't believe the price of a pint,£2.50! Will definitely revisit on my next trip to Newcastle!!
A good honest retro pub. Dirt cheap and always busy. Don't let the look put you off, the locals are very friendly.
I used to work here as a barmaid in the 80s and the atmosphere is still the same.
One of the very few great old pubs left now

Canny pint at a very good price, great jukebox and atmosphere.Aye there is a but,the toilets are a disgrace, they were poor 20 years ago and have gotten worse over the years.Has to be a health hazard,no hand washing or drying facility and the entire thing is stinking and dates back to prehistoric ages.Shame cos bogs apart, the bar is spot on.

It's cheap and it's got new wallpaper.
I've always loved the beehive, from outside it can just seem like one of Newcastles many 'rough old man pubs' but upon entering you will be greeted by most likely Taylor swift blasting through the jukebox and £2.75 trebles. Never fails to dissapoint.
Best pub in the world.

Lovely pub friendly staff
Standard tap lagers and beers. Most very cheap. Eclectic mix of punters. Proper bar!
It's a lovely bar. Good cheap beers. Friendly staff. Music volume is spot on so you can have a sing along or hear each other speak.
Great place..nice people and cheap beer..had a great sundayafternoon here
Arguably one of the very best hardcore drinkers bars in town. Located right amongst the Bigg Market carnage it's always busy, and I mean always. Don't be put off by its appearance. If you're after (very) cheap beers in a somewhat traditional pub environment (no kids/dogs/students/stupid cocktails) then this is the joint for you. I go occasionally, maybe a few times a year max. Whoever owns the place I suspect is a multi trillionaire due to its constant level of trade. Try it.
This is the greatest pub to ever exist
The Beehive is an old tradition! It has its own unique atmosphere. No fancy drinks, just good old fashioned service at a great price. Other pubs and restsurants around are being upgraded which is great. However, I really hope the Beehive keeps its traditional vibe.
Staff very friendly, good selection or gin and beers. Clean good prices
Has a good juke box, reasonably priced drinks & frequented by older locals
Decent traditional bar where you can get a decent pint at a reasonable price.
Drinks were very cheap and staff were brilliant
Only issue i had was with the young lads that approached and threatened myself and my friends in their words they said they would shank me up
Had to leave within 15 minutes, up until then i had a great night. Would definitely recommend.
Came here as a solo traveller. Cheap drinks and friendly locals and had a great bit of chat and banter with some real Geordies. The pub has a very 'lived in' feel and I think their refurbishment budget is approx 2p. In particular, the carpet I am sure was coloured at one time (maybe sometime around the end of WW2) but they now are now sticky and black but the lively atmosphere and cheap drink make up for it.
It hasnt the perfect interior but it does have some great people through its doors. People of all ages passing through. The staff are very efficient and polite and the drinks are very low in price. What more can i say
Not everyone's Idea of a good place to go. It's rather faded, and the toilets leave a lot to be desired. But it's down to earth, no airs or graces, cheap and a good pint of Guinness. I've drank in this place since I was first able to venture out for a night on the town, the mid seventies. And I always call in for one if I'm in Newcastle for a night out. It remains ever popular, so let's hope no one ever tries to "improve" it........
What an atmosphere, its like one big karaoke without karaoke! And my god the prices are so good.
Treble g&t with bottle of Schweppes tonic £2.80...
Real pub good value
Quality local. Cheap drinks, good atmosphere to watch the sport.
What the Beehive lacks in what some people, especially younger people, would call sophistication, it more than makes up for in character.
Cheapest pint in the town and with its fair share of local characters drawn by this fact, it's worth a look in at any time.
Personally, I'd avoid match days as it's relatively small size and packed in customers make it rather cramped but would happily pop in any other time.
A proper pub and antidote to the so called 'diamond strip' up the road.
Very old fashioned, traditional pub that is in the heart of Newcastles City Centre. Great customer service, always remembering my order and good banter. The locals are very welcoming and kind! The prices here were a very big positive especially for the City Centre. Bit tight on space inside but definitely worth a visit.
Nice little traditional pub, not trying to be anything fancy.
The bar smelt a lot better than itbuaes to and the prices were fabulously cheap. I will return. Very friendly punters in this bar and the jukebox is a bonus!!
Amazing little pub, we spend the weekend here every time we visit from Edinburgh! Great staff and always a happy, welcoming atmosphere with cheap drinks!
Great place racing on tellys
Cheap drinks great atmosphere. Love this bar
The pub is a great place to meet friends and have a good CHEEP drink, its one of the best local pubs not to be missed.
The only down side is the smell "oh boy does it smell" the carpets are sticky, smelly but the atmosphere more than makes up for it.
Treble Whiskey and Coke. Cheap as chips 😁
Great time. Good service. Great busy pub
Fantastic price, busy nice atmosphere.
Budget pub and very busy accordingly. A pint of guinness and a half of Strongbow for £3.10. You can;t beat that. There were a lot of very colourful and friendly punters in.
Great as usual, good staff, great vibes good drink Brill prices x
It's always been there. A historic traditional pub which everybody has visited. Great value for money. The dated decor is part of its charm.
Great food, Lamb pie and peas with red wine jus. Followed by Apple crumble. Lovely with a couple of good pints of real ale. Went back a fortnight later and just as good.
The beehive always a good old bar, tridisionaly bar
Best pub in Newcastle
At last!! Good priced beers!!
Well done🍻🍻
Great pub great staff and nice clean place and safe

Cosy bar, cheap drinks
Great bar lovely people one of the cheapest pints in the town great atmosphere
Great pint + cheep.🍺🍺👍👍
Great traditional city pub.
Very cheap beer prices. Lovely building
Rough and ready a real old world pub. Cheap beer and no frills. Don't expect too much at these prices and you'll not be disappointed.
Fantastic prices on pints and chilled atmosphere. Won't appeal to all but perhaps a good thing !
It is what it is, don't expect too be walking into a plush posh establishment, it's a drinking pub with a great choice of ales and the prices are excellent . . . . . Cheap as chips, I love the place 🍺🍺🍺🍺
Great Atmosphere and cheap drinks, and these are served all day,if you decide to go on Fri/Sat eve make sure to get there a bit earlier as this place gets jam packed and if you are in need of a sit down "think again" The Beehive is perfectly situated in the Big Market for any other bars you may wish to visit but best of all you will have a great night out
I have to admit that the drinks were a decent price but with myself suffering from claustrophobia it was far too overcrowded for my liking and more people were being let in
Friendly old fashioned pub. Probably never would have gone in but lashing it down outside would have been my loss. Friendly staff and similar customers.
We always have a great time in this traditional old pub the prices are brilliant and the staff are spot on , always good music for our crowd, see you soon .
Superb rough and ready pub. A personal favourite. Pubs of this type that are sadly disappearing in this city. Long may it last.
