F. P.Whilst waiting for a bus (1hr 20mins) we were both offered 1/2 pint each, then when we decided bus wasn't coming for another hour went in and ordered a pint each. Lovely locals and lovely landlady - when the bus suddenly arrived she raced out to talk to the driver, then, amid great hilarity, found us coffee cups to put our beer into. Oh - and the beer was excellent too 😄 Thoroughly recommended. Fiona & Helen.

She couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. While we waited we enjoyed a well-deserved cider whilst chatting away with her. Lovely friendly pub with great atmosphere. L. H.We are staying in the village for the week, so as always, had to try the local for Sunday lunch. It was the best lunch out we have had in ages! Good choice of meat, we had the chicken, yummy! Also the champion of all, a fabulous gravy, which they gave an extra boat full, and I could have drank it! The staff who looked after us were SO nice and friendly. This pub is a must if you love good food and a good pint. 5 stars we had a great afternoon and will be going back. X

There was a hiccup with 2 of our meals but it was sorted straightaway. Really friendly staff and locals. We had a great night and will return. The dogs were welcome too. Thank you.

Since posting the above I went here for food last night. Absolutely tremendous! Both my and my husband's meals were faultless, Bob and Kira attentive and helpful, and Richard the landlord an excellent host.

T. B.Booked a week in the cottage here with mum, kids and friends. Lovely dog friendly and very safe establishment with all staff welcoming and attentive. Perfect base to explore the area. Despite leaving early due to an accident we will absolutely book again when able. Think this will be our annual destination due to the amazing staff, food, drink and location. We would all strongly recommend this for all types of holiday whether couples, friend or families. It’s better than home from home!

c. m.Popped in here for a pint and some food last week. Most welcoming pub ever. The landlady let me try a variety of beers and steered me in the direction of a great pint. The dogs were made welcome and given treats by the staff team and pork scratchings by the regulars. The food was great and well priced and served on a plate. I come from down South so nowadays I'm use to buckets, slates, chopping boards etc. Really nice to have proper food on a plate, revolutionary stuff. Shame we had a drive to the tent otherwise we'd have stayed for the quiz. Brian the Jack**** puppy had the best time ever. A proper pub. We loved it

P. G.Called in around 3pm on a Tuesday for a drink and was greeted with a warm welcome by Jane behind the bar and one of the pooches.
The beer was good and the pub looked like it would have lots of atmosphere when full.
Booked a table for a meal in a couple of days, having read reviews on trip advisor.

T. R.One of the best pubs I have visited. Also possibly the most dog friendly. Good beer, good food, friendly staff. We are now under orders to visit next time we are in the area, as long as we bring our golden retriever!
A. P.Friendly village pub with accommodation. We stayed one night on the way to Scotland. Convenient position close to A1 and also Bamburgh castle. Great cooked breakfast.
J. B.Called in for a swift drink with the family on a Friday night. One of the friendliest pubs I've ever been in with the young lady behind the bar going out of her way to offer loads for the kids to do and even offered us a Bluetooth speaker so we could play our own music while we played darts. Drinks were good too with the blonde ale on the bar being served up just right.
We will definitely return and I'd recommend without hesitation. Dog friendly too.
d. b.Great little place. There is a friendly atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. We managed to get a table and spent the evening here having a drink. Not badly priced and the serve food as well.

A. D.Value for money, we had the standard Sunday Beef Dinner, it was ok, beef wasn't that nice, however for the price, I would consider it unfair to be over critical. Staff appeared friendly, and dogs welcome, however a customer next to us had their dog up on the seats...not acceptable.

My husband and I were staying a few doors away and after a busy day out thought we would return to Belford for the evening and eat here only to be told they were not doing food that evening even though the sign out side said they were. Very disappointed. Had to drive back to Bamburgh to get a decent meal. Take the sign down when you're not cooking so people know.

T. V.Nice small town pub. Had a few drinks and a meal here on a couple of days during the “Beast from the East” winter weekend in March 2018 when the village was effectively snowed in.
Singer guitarist was on the Saturday night and it was pretty busy with the local crowd.

Unfortunately it does not offer the kitchen service every day but the guy at the counter explained to us that having a limited use of local customers, it would become uneconomical to always activate it.
