A. W.A great place to eat. First time I’ve had food there but won’t be the last. Squid for starters - very tasty then the Boss Burger! Couldn’t finish it. It was massive and so delicious! Thank you Grace for being so attentive. Lovely service and lovely new place to eat.

C. K.Everything off the menu is good! The menu variety is actually pretty fantastic for a pub haunt. And each dish actually tastes stellar. Hearty, delicious, packed with great flavour pairings that aren't your usual run off the mill. Probably my favourite pub food in Newscastle, by far!

R. M.Good, spacious pub with decent food. The waiter was excellent - enforced all CV19 rules but without being fussy. Was helpful when my Mum needed to give her details manually as she didn't have the NHS app. Had some pints of Camden Hells which was delicious, and had the veggie burger for lunch. Burger was good but slightly on the pricey side (£12) for a non-city centre location. Food and drinks all came very quickly after ordering - service was very good.

I had the pasta and I thought it was a very mean portion of actual pasta compared to the lovely amounts of sauce and shellfish in it - bizarre to be stingy on the cheapest part of the dish. I felt like I needed to go home and have some toast afterwards!
J. H.Went for a meal prior to the weekly quiz, had a great night overall, great selection of drinks and the quiz was a barrel laughs. Disappointed with the food though, not that it was bad necessarily (no real need for complaint) - just mediocre for the price.

C.I'm normally shy about visiting a pub by myself but The Brandling has become my regular haunt, after finishing my job I wait for my husband to finish his, as I feel safe there, the staff are friendly and it has a nice atmosphere. It might not be the cheapest pub on the high street but that doesn't matter and my husband has started to like visiting it too

B. P.Booked for a small family Xmas meal and it did not fail to deliver. Met on arrival and shown to our nicely set out table straight away. We were introduced to our server, Chloe, who was very attentive and helpful all night.
The food is up there for a local pub but of restaurant quality and I would recommend a visit here. We had the three course Xmas meal which came hot and just the right amount.

O. A.Nice place to eat, there was a very chilled atmosphere but the staff team were on form with excellent service and a good knowledge of the menu. There were a few very well behaved dogs too and we were in with our 4 year old and 1 year old. We will definitely be back and the burger well what an absolute beast of a burger. My hate off the the creator and the chef who diverted it on the day. It was cooked to perfection and every flavour and texture worked in harmony with each other. One of the best burgers I've had in a while.. Wel done chef.

This is my second visit over the past couple of months. On both occasions the staff were lovely & friendly, food & drinks were great & prices good, especially considering the quality of our lunch each time. Child friendly on our day time visits too. If you're not sure - go, & have the fish goujon sandwich for lunch - bloody gorgeous!

We sat outside in a pleasant garden. It is a little noisy being adjacent to Gosforth High Street and hearing the traffic.
Food is nice and is freshly prerared. The fish finger sandwich was lovely.

P. D.Went for Sunday lunch here yesterday - our server Chloe was brilliant. She moved us to a bigger table to accommodate the space we needed for our meals and fussed over our dog which he loved. The sharing roast was beautiful and enough food to feed 3 people although we shared between 2 of us and took the rest home in a doggy bag. Great food, comfortable setting and dog friendly. Will definitely be back!
j. j.Lovely welcome nice surroundings we were checked in and sat at our table very quickly.
We all chose our meals only to be told that our choices were sold out so we all chose a 2nd option only to be told these also were unavailable.
The limited menu was reduced to basically 4 choices so eventually ordered food that suited.
The food that was available was nice but as a 3rd choice not enjoyed as we expected.
For a Saturday night you would expect to be able to chose from a full menu.
Hopefully as things get back to a bit of normality they can get their stocks and choices correct for a busy weekend.
Everything else was great the staff ease of ordering was faultless. We will return when they get their menu stock ordering correct

Only took off one star cuz we waited quite some time for our food. It wasn't a major thing as we weren't in a rush and we got to have a good catch-up, but y'know... we'd nearly finished our pints before the food came. ;)

I ordered sirloin with Yorkshire pudd and the meat was extremely fatty and difficult to cut, parsnips and roast potatoes had obviously been kept warm too long and were mush inside the hard exterior. A choice of 5 deserts most with ice cream was a poor choice. Overall not worth a second visit and poor quality.

O. W.I can reply here. I wouldn't say 3 stars is only 3 stars, it's defined by 'its ok' by Google reviews which I stand by. I really liked the food and the staff were nice. The negatives for me was hygiene standards and decor. Furniture is worn out and it was quite dirty. Sticky tables, dusty etc. Overall as mentioned before it was a positive experience but not worth 4 or 5 stars.

A lovely lady called Grace has greeted us on the door to do Track & Trace. She has always made us feel welcome and nothing is too much to ask. Great beer range, will be back to try some food. The Brandling Arms in our new favourite High St pub!
K. S.First time visiting the Brandling Arms for a few years and was really disappointed. Unwelcoming, miserable staff. Ended up only staying for one drink and then went across to BarLuga where we were greeted with a smile with lovely, attentive, friendly and welcoming staff. Won't be rushing back unfortunately.

L. B.It's been years since we last ventured to the Branding. How times have changed it. Firstly the food. 2 beef Sunday lunches and a veggy risotto. Meat cooked as asked for and decent sized meals, the gravy on the day was lush. Only slight issue was plates and food could of been hotter but this is just a personal thing. Drinks. Good range of all drinks including some excellent local ales. Didn't book a table but seated immediately, the pub was getting much busier as we were leaving so it's obviously popular. Price was very reasonable and it will not be such a long time until we return. Well played The Branding, High Street, Gosforth.

Food was tasty and cooked well but tepid. Asked for extra gravy and stated this was because the food was not hot.
It came promptly but with no concern or apology.
Sadly the cheese board was a disappoinment too. Good quality cheese but too chilled accompanied by a miserly selection of biscuits and a few sticks of celery.
Overall the surroundings are pleasant the food could be fine with more attention to detail and sadly I would be reluctant to return.

i. K.Front garden is lovely when it is sunny. Sunday roast menu is perfect. Plenty local ale and different lagers on draught. Very cosy place at the middle of Gosforth. Parking is available at the end of the street which is 30p per hour. Free after 6pm.

A. S.Very cute pub in front of Gosforth High street. Nice outdoor vibes, plants and flower decor, and a cute indoor. Wish it had more local/unique beer options and food options though
