Pretty much exactly what you want from a pub, decent seating inside. Good selection of drink. Plenty of outside seating. We went during a Newcastle match and still managed to get seated outside. Order food and drink to your table via the app. No complaints

It's the first time I've been in years. I was very impressed, just popped in when passing with my friend and had a couple of gins. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was nice and I think I'll go there more regularly.

Cavernous John Fitzgerald pub. Always seems to have an interesting selection of cask ales and can't recall having a duff pint here recently. Handy for the misleadingly named Chillingham Road Metro station. Way too many big screen TVs for my liking.

Pretty decent local pub. Food is very reasonably priced and not bad (nachos good). Ok range of beers too. Staff have been at times a bit short during the last Covid year but that's understandable given the circumstances. Definitely will keep going here, just hope it goes more back to the old chillingham friendly welcome when lockdown eases more.

Been a long time I been there it was just before it got this newly furnished and I must say they done a brilliant job and it was full for a Wednesday night there was a quiz on and live football the pint was nice and the bar staff was polite and friendly the pub it self was nice and clean

New to the area from Kent and were looking for somewhere friendly to have lunch and a drink. Had some nice food and were pleasantly surprised by this place. All staff super friendly as was the atmosphere. Lots of locals in which to me is a good sign everyone laughing and enjoying their Saturday afternoon Sports on the T.V, golf and football. Even the toilets were impressively clean, we'll be coming back!

Best pub in the east end of Newcastle. Lovely decor, super atmosphere. Staff can't do enough for you. Fabulous food served swiftly with lots of choice and very reasonably priced. Great place for families, couples and a great bar to watch the match in.

Love this pub in Heaton, very welcoming, a great place to meet friends and family. Great wines and beers and good food. The burger/ pizza and beer meal is great value. The pub has a large frontage, some greenery and flowers would contribute to the street scene a great deal.

Best pub ever. Staff are fantastic. Beers, wines, spirits, ales you name it they have it and give great knowledgeable suggestions on what to drink. Lovely food as well. Atmosphere is top as well. Shows live sport including footy games. Pool tables and one of the best juke boxes ever. They also have a regular pub quiz and a brilliant upstairs function room you can hire out.

I have drunk here for the best part of ten years. It has very recently been fully refurbished, which was needed. It's still part of the Fitzgerald's chain, but the management is still the same. Not as cheap as you might think generally, but good ales and Guinness and now the food has stepped up too. The function room is nigh on ready for opening, and the capacity has been enhanced in there also. Much busier than ever now so check it out!

Fairly quiet during visit at lunchtime on 27 th December, which makes it all the more unforgivable that it took almost one hour for the kitchen to produce the two burgers we had ordered. These were acceptably tasty when they arrived, but we were on the point of leaving when they finally appeared. On the wet sales side, there is a good selection of cask and keg ales, with a couple of real ciders in addition to the usual stereotypical Bulmers and Carling offerings.

I, like Jamie, also like a good drink. I like to drink here its a treat for all 6 of my senses. You get a card that gets stamped when you buy a pint when the football is on, my friend greg just got his card stamped even though it was 15 minutes before the game. Great pub

Great bar. Great atmosphere. Good food. Nice friendly bar staff. Outside seating area. Food available. Good selection of beer abd wines. Two pool tables. Late licence on weekends. Moments away from Chillingham Road Metro. A few minutes walk to Sheilds Road Byker and a couple of minutes walk to Byker Shopping park. Near lots of shops on the busy Chillingham Road itself. Lots of University Students live in the local area of Heaton so it this pub is a big hit with them also.

The Chillingham is a popular pub that has been recently overhauled and dropped the name The Chillingham Arms to The Chillingham supposedly in an attempt to become more favourable with the younger generation. It is quite a good pub that sells a good choice of real ales, however it is quite expensive by Newcastle standards. The atmosphere is quite good, particularly when the students are in and there and it is very good for sports viewing.

Best pub in Heaton. Unlike the Hussar, which is overpriced and awful, the staff are friendly, the prices are very reasonable, and there are pub games and a jukebox, as well as a brand new smoking area. Great whisky selection, great for sports.
