Great food as always at the coachman's whickham! £20 for a feast of a sharing platter to accompany sport and a pint! Highly recommended family friendly bar!

Attended a baby shower and my partner decided to have Sunday Lunch......FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY OUT OF THIS WORLD, beef melted in your mouth, vegetables cooked to perfection, fluffy roast potatoes and a classic, light crispy yorkshire pudding served by first class staff.......lovely surroundings and spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend and can't wait to return!!!!!

Staff were nice, but not a lot of vegetarian options but the chips were very nice. Dog friendly pub, but means we had a dog constantly staring us down for scraps off our plates. To be fair to them though. if they had a separate area for dining cos we were in the bar bit, if there is of course we will go in there next time as I’m assuming no dogs will be allowed in that part.

Nice estate pub recently refurbished. Lots of room in a modern setting, nice food a reasonable prices. Lots of seats outside for sunny days too! Enjoy. Now does breakfasts from 9 o'clock in the morning not all days. Pictures bacon and egg stottie and coachman breakfast.

would like to say a massive thank you for yesterday celebrated my sons christening everything ran smoothly the food was amazing which was tailored for what we wanted everybody commented on the food and the choice the staff were also nice and friendly we had such a great day and a lovely venue to thanks again and we will be back

Service is very slow with a cue for drinks leading to the door. And glasses not being collected so having to use plastic cups…. Not very environmentally friendly

First trip to The Coachman since it has been taken over by new management. The staff were really welcoming and friendly (and also looked really smart). There was a good selection of alcoholic drinks and service was quick. The bar and toilets were really clean and, overall, my experience was a great one. I will definitely be returning with my husband and friends regularly. Hoping to make it our local!

Great pub. Friendly atmosphere No real ale at mo but who could blame him not enough real ale drinkers. 100% improvement in beers. Actually tastes as it should. Needs refurbished but it's been cleaned up both in and outside Temperery manager is doing a great job and has lowered the prices. Well done

The Coachman had amazing food and all types of drinks for a low price, but it was very out of the way and you couldn't walk there. There was also lots of kids running about and although this isn't the pub's fault, they should have signs saying ' Don't let your children run about.'

Very family friendly pud. It serves beautiful and inexpensive food, it is also dog friendly so you can bring your fur baby along. It's away from the main road too so no worrying about youngsters playing outside

Great pub! Fantastic gin selection! The falafel burger is very nice and I can’t get enough of the chips. The staff is very friendly and has good banter. Very impressed with the coachmans after the refurb!

Visited The Coachman's tonight 07/10/14 We ordered Scampi and Chips,Hamburger and chips and Fish and Chips. All served piping hot loads of home-made chips cooked to perfection could not fault the meals and will definitely return....Good Food at a Good Price Too.

I took my parents for xmas lunch as a treat..Paid £191.80..for xmas dinner for 4 people..our day was an utter shambles..the room was so cold with lack of atmosphere..our table was booked for 1pm..starters arrived at 1.45..we were still waiting for our dinner at 3.40 .by this time people were starting to complain among themselves and getting very anxious..after enquiring as to why there was a delay..I got no answer just told food wouldn't be long..when the food arrived we were disgusted at the trash we were served it was disgusting...the a child could of made better..it was so embarrassing and a total let down. We all left all of our dinner and sweet..we only eat the starter as we had waited so long and was now hungry..when talking to a member off staff he agreed that the whole thing was a shambles..on the menu it stated tea or coffee and a selection of petite fours..they never arrived ..we were told there was another sitting at 3pm..people were queuing to book in only to be left sitting about waiting..I only pitied them as the first sitting hadn't even been served their sweet which was now 4pm..I could go on..I'm will never entertain that pub again..they are not worthy of peoples money as they never full filled their contract we were not served what we paid for.. total ripp off £47.95..I paid xmas day to eat a starter..our day was ruined and so was many more..

Been back to Coachmans twice since a chaotic bank hol Monday. What a difference...lovely food and pleasant staff. Very bright and airy. Dog friendly with a nice outdoor space and parking

The Coachman is a great friendly pub with good food and the best kept real ales in Whickham. Thursday night is steak night which is a real treat and great value. Always a great atmosphere a real hidden gem.

Between landlords at the mo, and needs a lot of money throwing at it. However, its a local hostelry so you've got to support it, right? Quiz night Tuesday, with free mid quiz bait. Upped to 4 stars (there's always room for improvement!).
