My first time in Newcastle, lovely place, lovely people. The Dog and Parrot is a great pub, very friendly and worth a visit, and very close to the train station.

Very friendly younger crowd really enjoying themselves and all behaving well. Music was great and the pool table very popular. Well done staff 👏 a great place you have here. Bouncers had just one issue to deal with and we're ultra professional.

Not often I'm impressed to this level but the young people running this place were amazing. Myself, kids and dog were all welcomed and served with such effort and decency. Their parents should be extremely proud and their bosses too

Booth tables aren't big enough if you're larger as the tables are too close... Staff are pleasant and drinks well priced... Team aren't the most professional, vaping and sitting around. But, regardless, a nice feel to the place

Great friendly atmosphere, staff were very welcoming and gave great service . Lots of choices for alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks and cocktails . They also serve food but I did notice several people's food orders and all looked amazing.

Cute bar, one of the most alternative in NCL city center, with pool table and upstairs (with upstairs outdoor seating). Gets super busy and rammed with all the edgy, underage geordies. Also the music is super loud so if you are autistic, give it a miss.

It was indeed one of the best Saturday nights of my UK life. I hung out with my mates and it was a night to remember with lots to drink and a lot of dancing. By far one of our favorite bars in newcastle, we have been going for years and only realised last week that parts of the ceiling are made of doors! the rest of the layout is really cool and there is an upstairs with a smoking area. Friendly staff, pool table and they also do great food. Highly recommend

Decent pub. Nice decor and stylish interior. Gets busy on weekends and crowd can be a bit rowdy. Drinks ain't the cheapest so on the busy days it's not worth it I'd say. Nice during quieter days/times where you can find a seat and hear each other talk.

Found the experience really good. The changes to the pub since I was last there were a real surprise. The staff were helpful especially the bouncer as I am disabled and had to manage the stairs, especially since the pub was full it could have been a real problem. Just wish there was room to put small toilet upstairs but probably not cost effective as they probably don't get a lot of disabled people at upstairs events. All in all excellent venue.

Great atmosphere and decent selection of drinks, but the lad behind the bar far more interested in hanging out with his mates by the gambling machine and seemed incredibly put out when he needed to do his job. Very rude when ordering, didn't even speak to tell us the amount, just thrust the card machine at us. The chap who started a little while later seemed friendlier though.

Great student bar to go to, great selection of spirits and other drinks available for great prices. You have Strongbow dark fruits slush which is popular and my personal favourite which is 3 trebles for £6 with a student card. Really good selection of music and being done up so it will be nice to see what changes.

Night life is so active. Open terrace for smoking. Two floors. Ground floor we can play billiards. Lot of young people , they play some good Dj to make the crowd live. I hope you will enjoy it. But make sure you go there at night after 9 pm .

Now my favourate tebble bar, Central location with Charming staff and atmosphere. The manager (Devon I think) even went out of his way on a buisy night to identify, locate and confront an opportunist thief, whom he recovered belongings from. Turning what would have been my only negative experience of the dog and parrot into my most grateful. Apparently my farther used to frequent this independent bar in his youth too so they must be doing something right !

Came for lunch, and it was just insane. I had the bacon butter burger with haggis fries, and I don't think I've ever had a better meal. It's rare that the meat in the burger is the real highlight, but despite the toppings the beef stood out. Probably the best burger I've eaten. The haggis fries were also fantastic, with fried onions, haggis and gravy. Salty as anything (unsurprisingly) but I'd eat it all day. Recommend 100%

Quite a busy little pub about 5 minutes walk from the metro arena. Called in on our way to the arena on Saturday night. There was a few having a drink before they went to the arena as well. Some were there after being to the Newcastle United game. Only draw back was it must have been busy as I had to have my pint in a plastic glass. Towards the back of the pub was an area with a pool table that seemed very popular.

There is a small independent theatre above the pub run by Alphabetti Theatre. Here you can catch the latest emerging talent in the area - be it music, theatre or comedy. I myself have performed there a number of times and it's a cracking space! Plus all the tickets are under £10. Proper hidden gem, It will soon get very popular!
