Reviews of The Duke of Wellington High Bridge.
I visited this pub Sunday 1st May... What a very pleasant experience I have walked past this pub so many times but won't no more... The ladies serving were so friendly and helpful made my visit so enjoyable would definitely recommend 👍
This is your everyday man's man boozer. Lady behind bar was lovely and made us feel very welcome. Toilets are clean enough and beers/spirits are reasonably priced. Could imagine this might get busy when something is on at the comedy club as its right opposite. It was a Monday afternoon we went in so it wasn't busy but we didn't mind that at all.
Great little pub, staff are very friendly, will definitely be back!!
Good quality beer at a reasonable price! Nice friendly bar staff, felt welcome.
Decent pint of Landlord, but not much beer choice and not very friendly.
Friendly pub welcoming staff and drink not to expensive
Always a good pont in The Duke of Wellington. Great atmosphere with a mixed age groups in there all enjoying a Saturday afternoon drink.
Fabulous old pub. Traditional. Loved it. right opposite the comedy club The Stand
A great place to meet friends in town and a very nice drink too
Decent pub bit of a locals place with mainstream ales
Great pub. Good range of well kept real ales.
A very popular pub in the middle of High Bridge but having said that, if you don't get a table when walk in, you'll probably get one in 5 minutes as people move on. One of the old bars which is good the way it is, hopefully for many years to come.
Service a bit poor but a nice cheap pint
Good pint of Guinness. Staff were brilliant. Actually went to the cafe next door to get someone a peppermint tea
Not the expected selection of ales, but a satisfying drink on a Friday early evening
Absolutely wonderful and fantastic bar staff can't wait to go back bye girls
A proper pub, no more, no less. Friendly & attentive bar staff. Will definitely be back
Decent pub but few clientele... unfortunately
Drinks are good and it's a really friendly and pleasant drinking experience. Reasonably priced, good choice of drinks as well.
Good choice of lagers available, nice boozer in the centre of the city. Worth a visit.
Had lovely night in this traditional pub, we met Donna the manager and she was absolutely brilliant in making us feel welcome and comfortable, thanks for everything Donna, we won't forget you 👍🏻🍺😃
Its like the Leaky Cauldron, it blends into the street so well that you can easily walk passed it. I must have walked passed this pub a thousand times before going inside. Its not a big pub, so can feel crowded, they have a good choice of ales and beers. Friendly staff. The atmosphere was good on the occasion I was there.
Staff are mint. The Guinness is fab craic excellent.
Solid 'local' style pub, decent selection of drinks with a friendly atmosphere and live sport
A decent no-nonsense pub serving good cask ale. A good place for an afternoon pint whilst out and about.
Good atmosphere nice pub
Went on a Sunday afternoon hadn't booked but we were welcomed in. On entry we were informed of the Covid messures, given hand sanitiser and asked to scan the NHS QR code we were then shown to our table and placed our order. Staff are very friendly, polite and professional, Good selection of drinks reasonably priced and was nice they kept walking around asking if people wanted to place another order. Very clean all staff working hard making us feel very safe and really enjoyed our time, would definitely recommend a visit here.
Quality pub with great atmosphere
Visited here at about 7:30 on a Monday night, the place was almost empty but most of the tables had reserved signs on them. The barmaid told us we could sit anywhere but would have to vacate the reserved seat at 9:00 because the pub quiz was being held then! The pub has a good selection of beers and the barmaid was friendly but we only stayed for one drink and moved on to find a pub where we could sit around a table.
Good little traditional pub that has BT & Sky Sports. Mixed crowd age wise which is always a good sign. Comfy seats if you can get one. Carling & John Smith's £3. They don't do food which keeps the entitled screaming kid brigade out and is therefore a blessing if you just want a beer or 5 in an adult environment and to watch the football or cricket.
Great atmosphere, small but very friendly
Great service from Donna very friendly and welcoming will definitely be coming back
I have often visited this city centre pub. It's been around for years. Small and cosy with good choice of ales. Staff friendly and helpful. It's not a shiny glitzy modern place, but all the better for it. Recommended.
Not as shown in photos. Definite need of a refurbish
Good beer. Staff need to be more pleasant and care about the product they serve. My Timothy Taylor Landlord was served in a cider glass!! It's the little things.....
Class pub...great staff....good beer....
Nice typical old pub, friendly and pleasant staff well organised in the current Covid-19 situation, relaxed atmosphere, it was a pleasure to visit.
Amazing staff great little pub defo will return x
It's a more traditional pub. Than those around it. Not rough, quite reasonable prices, just enough choice of drinks. Not too busy, but never quiet
Great bar, beer and atmosphere.
Worth a visit friendly staff following all the rules to the letter in extremely hard times.great selection of beers even went for more red wine when they ran out
Nice pub not too busy so got served straight away Few drunks in when we were there but a good laugh and no hint of trouble
Good traditional bar good range of beers and larger
Convivial atmosphere although only 1 cask ale on, although it was well kept and nice.
