Reviews of The Falcon's Nest
T. M.
We just called in for a quick bite to eat. The inside of the falcons nest is very traditional with a cosy feel. However the entrance paths could do with some work as the slabs are starting to give. They have a good beer garden if you don't mind the traffic noise.
The service is very good and professional, the meals that we ordered were nicely presented but that was the only good thing about them I'd ordered the fishcakes but couldn't taste any fish it was more like a curry paté in bread crumbs.
The burger was not much better.
But they serve a good pint
L. R.
Food was absolutely great. Waiting staff were attentive and professional. The price means I won't be eating here every night but that is no reflection on the quality of the establishment.
9/10 see you next time

Lovely little pub with a cosy atmosphere. We went in for dinner and drinks after staying at the Grand Hotel Gosforth. Staff were lovely and nothing was too much which was amazing as my partner is a fussy eater.
Lovely selection of food and drinks and reasonably priced. It was slightly more expensive than we usually spend on a meal out, but the portions were huge and we really enjoyed the food.
Gin selection was lovely which I appreciated as I am not a wine drinker.

Great Xmas dinner, lovely staff and surroundings. Recommended.

Had a fabulous meal today with 6 friends to celebrate an early birthday. Food, service and atmosphere was excellent, especially our waitress called Sarah. She was very helpful, nothing was a trouble an asset to the pub. Will definitely be booking again. Thank you for making my afternoon a special time. King regards Susan Johnson

Booked for my Mam's 80th birthday. Staff were very welcoming and were attentive without being intrusive. Lots of positive comments from Mam's guests regarding the buffet. Some different items on there and all were very tasty. A big thank you to Kevin and his team. Nothing was too much trouble for them, from initially booking until we left.

If you have a party of 16 to feed and water and you want great service, speed and efficiency this is the place to go. We have used The Falcon's Nest many times but only in small groups We knew the staff were great, really friendly and helpful so we had no qualms at all. I was asked, if possible to provide our order for starters and mains before hand and what a great idea that was. We hadn't long finished receiving our drinks when our starters arrived. All were fresh and piping hot. The meal continued in the same fashion with the staff sorting us out effortlessly. So professional and attentive without being over the top. I highly recommend everything about this place
M. L.
Sunday lunch was absolutely amazing! I got the trio of meats, my plate was filled with succulent meat, crispy roast and my favourite; honey roast parsnips! The gravy was to due for. Its what Sundays are made for. Plus no washing up. Just perfect!
M. I.
Great food, and great atmosphere. Highly recommended

Food on children's menu was very small portions for a 7 and 10 year old. Had to order more and was charged £2.50 for an extra portion of potato!! I ordered gammon egg and chips. Gammon was good but only 6 chips all for £11.95! Won't be going back at busy times which I think was part of the problem. Waiter was obviously stressed and not very friendly.
j. d.
Nice busy atmosphere it's a good pint never tried the food but it always looks and smells great. The usual drawback not enough staff on the bar so you wait longer than you should to order but all in all its a place that caters for families, couples and lads meeting up so you can excuse them being busy.
S. K.
Excellent food and drink. Very attentive staff. Lovely ambience in a very atmospheric old style pub/restaurant. . Very reasonably priced. Really enjoyed everything about our experience. Thankyou very much..
N. G.
Really nice food.very friendly staff.we were with a baby and they were good with her.pity its 200 miles from home as we would be there more often.great place so thank you.
K. D.
Have been coming to this lovely place for ages and have never been disappointed yet.The staff are very warm and friendly.Service is always good and relatively quick. The food is good, honest pub grub.Go check it out
T. H.
I was staying at the Travelodge over the way. Decided to eat here as I have stayed here before and the food was good. Well I wasn't disappointed. I sat in the bar. I ordered the lamb koftas starter and the 10oz Ribeye for the main. The pub was not very busy. My starter can in about 15 mins. Hot. Very tasty. My main followed 20 mins later. Again, Hot and very tasty. But a little small on the portion size for the price. The bar staff where very polite and helpful. Service was quick. Over all a nice, meal.
There are a few things I would like to comment on.
When staff where bringing your food to the table they where not bringing the basics with them and had to be asked for these items. Ie, knifes and forks. Salt pepper and vinegar. These items should be provided without asking. Also the lad who served me could do with smiling. He had a good table manner but lacked that part. Maybe he was new to it. Thanks again for a great meal hopefully sea you soon.

Hadn’t been to the Falcons nest in years and can’t wait to go back, friendly staff, good choice of drinks, it was sunny so was out in the beer garden, perfect way to end the week!!!

On a recent Thursday evening we opted to visit this country style pub having passed on numerous occasions. Opting for a starter board which came with calamari, garlic flatbread, chicken wings and lamb kofta kebabs. All very nice and could even have been a very nice main course on its own All opting for rump steak shortly afterwards these arrived quickly and how we asked for them to be cooked. This was washed own with a pint of Chieftan IPA beer. Well worth a visit if in the area with its location close to the A1 making it handy to get to.
L. M.
Absolutely lovely place, we sat beside an open fire, lush and cosy the food was delicious. Definitely going back
A. W.
Easy to book plenty of too good lunchtime menu
R. F.
Forst visit here. Food was so tasty. Ate outside where we had table service. Inside the pub there were plenty sanitiser stations and the floor was clearly marked to adhere to social distancing. Will definantdly return . Only got a pic of the pudding sorry lol x
P. C. (.
Excellent service and staff were really friendly. They had a vegan menu and they allowed me to use the vegan options on their 2 meal deal menu. I had a lovely vegan curry and Apple crumble with soya custard. No vegan wine so I just had water. Would definitely go again.
D. H.
Amazing food. Friendly staff and a great service. Definitely worth a visit..
C. W.
Lovely Sunday roast dinner, opted for the trio of meats. Would highly recommend the falcons nest, busy but the staff and service was excellent.
A. M.
Service was great. I has small meal fish finger sandwich which was more like the smallest amount of fish in the largest amount of batter on sourdough bread! Hard to eat! Hard bread! Batter butty. Not worth the cost.
D. S.
Fantastic food and great service. Worth a visit if you are in the area
K. D.
Amazing meal and waitress vasari was so attentive throughout the evening nothing was to much men wanted a cheese board and she tried so hard , will be back .
M. D.
Very good service, fantastic food and great pint if Black Sheep, deffinately be back
Y. S.
Fabulous meal. Fish and chips, tastiest batter and chips like none I've tasted before. Crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. Perfect!
Very varied menu, not the run of the mill as in some places. Cosy restaurant with a lovely fire . Staff friendly, obliging and efficient.
Can't wait for my next visit.
C. R.
Delighted to go into 2022 with Alex back in the building, returning after a few months elsewhere she has been missed. Kerry is amazing and has been holding down the fort with Natalie and Gracie but as our local with fabulous food it’s great that things are now back to normal xoxo
J. S.
Good service and very tasty meal. I had gammon steak, eggs and triple cooked chips. Really good. The crumble was excellent. Will definitely go back.
I. A.
Amazing meal , good service and good value for money
d. B.

So well presented

Menu different but just as good as The Badger which is in the same restaurant chain. Will visit both again
Y. H.
Paulina served us and she was extremely helpful. Made our visit lovely :)
T. S.
A lovely meal to be had here. Freshly made food at the usual high standard from Vintage Inns. The bar staff were friendly. The service was good and the food arrived in good time and was piping hot.
J. B.
Nice pub / restaurant . Was staying overnight at the Gosforth Park Hotel and walked over and had a couple of drinks . Friendly staff .
1 Year Update.
Came here tonight for a meal on our 1st wedding anniversary . Staff have gone above and beyond to make it a wonderful night . Brought out dessert with HAPPY ANNIVERSARY written in chocolate on the platter .
Thank you , thank you , thank you.
R. r.
Really good service and the food was awesome. Lasagna totally recommend.
A. D.
Sunday lunch, we had turkey it was moist and very tasty highly recommend
P. C.
First visit and was left unimpressed.
Customer facing staff could not be faulted, extremely pleasant young lady attending to us was very professional and efficient.
The big let down was the time for our food to arrive, delayed because of an "i-pad" issue.
On the up side we were offered a free round of drinks or dessert, still didn't get that right either.
M. W.
The food is greatly improved since the pandemic. The service was always good.
Abbie served is recently and my partner was in a fussy mood but nothing was too much trouble.
I think the food is really reasonable but the wine is a bit pricy. These things are all relative though, it's a nice place for a treat.
Safe for women on their own
Fabulous large beer garden with loads of seating.
Free parking.
Recommended- you get what you pay for.
D. M.
Lovely food. Excellent service. Beautiful place.
P. L.
Lovely atmosphere & staff. The steaks we had (sirloin) were gorgeous.
B. A.
Very warm welcoming from the staff , good quality food and a fantastic service from Sarah 😁.
C. Y.
We have visited here for the last 2 nights while staying at the Travelodge next door. On both evenings we received a friendly welcome and were able to sit in the bar area where our dog was also allowed in. The food was fantastic on both nights. My husband is not eating carbs and they swapped these out for a lovely selection of veg on both of his meals. The staff were friendly and polite and we would definitely visit again when in the area.Thank you!
D. M.
This is a good pub, well spaced out inside with a large beer garden outside. With separate bar and restaurant areas and well decorated throughout. Disabled access throughout and a large car park. Only down side, hard to exit at the roundabout either side of 5pm.
C. G.
1st ever visit here. The pub was very relaxing and had a lovely atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and efficient, however the pub was not busy so unable to comment on how staff would cope if busy.
We all enjoyed our choice of food and would certainly return there again
I. H.
I didn’t expect much coming here, thinking it would be a slightly fancier Wetherspoons. I was wrong.
The place has a nice cosy atmosphere and seemed clean and organised.
I had a roast beef dinner and creme brûlée and it was amazing.
The beef was tender, gravy and trimmings were lovely and the pudding was perfect.
The service was prompt without being overbearing.
M. T.
A Vintage Inn. Clever design makes what is quite a big pub always seem cosy. Seasonal menus and the food is a better than usual pub grub. Staff were friendly and helpful.
D. S.
Beautiful Sunday Roast as always and exemptions service particularly from Vaso.
S. N.
Visited this pub for a work meeting and to have some lunch. Didn't book in advance but was able to walk in no problem as it was during a weekday. I have to complement their COVID safety measures. We were asked to fill out track and trace and sanitise before being seated and tables were well spaced out. Floor markings, safety posters and reduced toilets were all in effect. Very impressed. The food was delicious and the service really good. Definitely coming back.
R. C.
Easy access and good parking. Very nice outside grassed area with seating. Nice friendly greeting from staff ...polite and helpfull. Some wearing masks even though they dont have to.
During our visit all the tables were in use and social distancing was adhered to. Very clean everywhere, The tables and chairs were scrupulously cleaned when people had finished and left. Now to the food...we had the Beef and a Turkey roast ..both meats were tender and tasty the gravy was superb. Large Yorkshire pudding with a medley of veg..broccoli, onion, red pepper, yellow pepper, courgette, carrots and parsnip. We shared a cauliflower cheese portion which is to die for. Seriously its a signature dish on its own.. As the main course is quite generous....we had no room left for a dessert!! .."next time starter and desert".
We booked which is probably the best idea and looked on line at the menu so we knew what we wanted so as not to waste any time. Prices are slightly higher than average but if you take the high quality of service , excellent food and the overall experience into consideration...its a winner.
Our first time here, but not our last. Thank you to All the staff at the Falcons Nest.. bravo.
C. A.
Friendly staff and a pretty venue, but average price and ok quality carvery. Mixed reviews from the vegetarians with 1 (quite carby) option
S. W.
Nice place bit of a limited menu but it is Jan just after Christmas, friendly staff.
E. C.
Christmas day lunch was just perfect..great service & delicious food...Will be booking again for next year !
C. D.
Polite and accommodating staff.
Delicious buffet and pleasant surroundings.
M. G.
Friendly staff. Excellent food.

Lovely meal with a perfect relaxed atmosphere, we'll definitely be back again.

Generic Vintage Inn.
Pleasant staff, everyone enjoyed their food, although mine was a little cold
p. o.
Very welcoming lovely pub injoyed the visit
G. H.
Food great. Decent pricing and very nice staff.
A. C.
Nice atmosphere , staff very helpful just called in for quick bite ,
C. G.
Friendly staff, decent choice on menu. Hood for families and dog friendly.
C. B.
Great service from Vaso, would highly recommend visiting this warm and friendly establishment.
J. P.
Really disappointed with the Falcons nest today. We visit the restaurant regularly and today was a poor experience. Being a non meat eater found all seafood dishes were off. Creme Brulee desert could not be served as it hadn't set. We waited almost an hour for starters and a further 30 mins for mains. Staff were pleasant and we weren't charged for starters but very poor experience
In response to the manager: Thank you for acknowledging my review of the FalconsNest however, your Team have not been in contact with me and I have since cancelled my next bookings.
G. F.
Great food. Nice setting.
F. S.
Stayed at the Travel lodge next door so seemed the obvious choice for dinner. So glad we did.fantastic menu, beautiful interior and the staff were amazing especially with one of our party having a restricted diet due to food allergies.Staff went above and beyond to help, food delicious.Highly recommended !!!
M. R.
Very good food,(chicken and mushroom pie, fish and chips, chicken schnitzel) lovely staff, good service, relaxed and unhurried meal
A. E.
Would highly recommend, we have visited more frequently in the past months both for food and drinks. The burger is amazing, one of the best I have had and fish and chips also very good. Staff are really attentive and friendly which makes a big difference...
J. N.
Lovely pub - country feel even though in an area with lots of facilities - good menu and great service (Amy) - glad we spent an evening there 👍
H. C.
Food was amazing. We chose to have either 2 or 3 course special. Our waitress "Vaso" was very nice and professional and gave one of our guests some advice on wine choice, which turned out to be a good choice. Good value for money, service was excellent. Toilets were clean and tidy. Nice atmosphere, music in the background was at a nice level so chatting could still be heard without shouting. Definitely recommend it.
S. B.
Visited for lunch although the prices are basically the same as anywhere else the £11.50 lunch offer of either starter and main or main and dessert seemed good value. I had the chicken pie and brownie and they were freshly made. The veg that came with the pie were fresh which was so much nicer than the usual reheated frozen veg. The brownie came with a generous scoop of delicious ice cream. A lovely interior, friendly staff and we'll cooked food I now know why my daughter and son in law are regulars.
S. B.
Favourite bar, staff are very friendly
P. P.
Excellent customer service very quick order taken as soon as we sat down and were ready drinks came imediately and food arrived within 10 mins, only thing was that food went cold quite quickly but that was not anyones fault as they were piping hot when they arrived definately be coming back if we are in the area
D.
Friendly and welcoming staff and has a nice feel to the place.
Food is generally quite reasonably priced and of fairly good quality. However on both occasions I have ordered steaks there they have been significantly overcooked and unevenly cooked.
Other food seems to be of good quality.
C. M.
We went for a family celebration of 14 people and two children and I was very impressed. We had picked our meals beforehand to make it easier. One good thing is that there is plenty of parking outside so even though we arrived with several cars we were fine. The staff got us settled and helped us sort out drinks and we chatted. The food came quickly as we had a flathead starter and then about 2o minutes later the mains arrived. One thing that impressed is that everyone's food arrived at the same time. I've been to places where some of the party have almost finished before the other got served.
The food was very tasty and well presented with a couple of vegetarian options and quite filling. They were happy to supply sauces and extra gravy as requested. The desserts were generous too. I ordered coffee and a dessert and received a caramel creme dessert and large coffee which went down well. Done of our party had the 5 dessert taster. Very filling but went down well. The staff were excellent and very attentive.
E. M.
Came here for my Grandma's 70th birthday and had a wonderful time. Our waitress was phenomenal and incredibly friendly and everyone really enjoyed their food. I was especially grateful that there was such ak extensive vegan menu that included a range of desserts (I had the crumble, it was amazing!), which is quite rare in non-vegan restaurants. The rest of my family eats meat and they all thought the food was wonderful. Lovely atmosphere also and a very well priced menu.
K. C.
My daughter brought me here for a Birthday Lunch and we took advantage of the two course menu for £11. I had the mushroom starter followed by the fishcakes. The meal was absolutely delicious and the table service was very good.
k. w.
Came here for a sunday roast only to be told once we were seated that they had run out of beef and turkey and only had pork, tomato or lamb. We then went to order starters to be told they had no scallops either. Once the food did arrive it was very nice and the pork exceptional. The prawn and lobster cocktail was disappointing. The reason for the 3 stars is due to limited options and the wait for the food was too long. It took nearly two hours for food to arrive from starter to dessert. Shame really as the food was nice but the wait was very frustrating
B. T.
Family meal out with two very young children. Nothing seemed to be a bother.food seemed to take a little while to come but when did was worth the wait. .fresh and cooked beautifully. Set out on the plate well making it look really appetising also. Children's menu also very good selection and freshly cooked. 3 menu's did seem little over the top but lot of things repeated and think that was more because we arrived on steak night so menu for that, plus festive menu out (looked very good value for money )then there was the normal menu. As I say very good value for money.
s. h.
Really liked the food. We went for Sunday lunch and the meal that came was huge. Our vegetarian option included all the trimmings, huge Yorkshire pudding and a nice pie. The vegetables were nice and crunchy, nothing overcooked or greasy. No room for pudding. A few separate seating areas to choose from. Quite a few families with young children but it was ok. Lovely and helpful staff too.
A. G.
Lovely cosy pub right next to services at gosforth park. Definitely would recommend.
K. K.
A little more choice in burgers and pizzas.
G. W.
Good food good portions and really nice staff only draw back was the lack of real ales
J. W.
We came here to meet friends on Thursday evening. It was quite busy but this could be because they have accommodation here too. We did manage to get a seat although we did have a table booked for food. Whilst the service was excellent, the food was just okay, nothing special. Prices fair £5.15 for a pink gin with elderflower tonic. Sorry but we won't be rushing back.
S. H.
Served by James for a late Sunday lunch. Couldn't fault the food or service, but being picky, the music could have been a little lower as we were sitting under a speaker
a. a.
This is our first choice of a dining out experience in close proximity to our residence. We find it convenient and versatile. Recently, we entertained a party of 14 family for a Sunday luncheon, as part of a weekend of celebrations for a significant date. The staff were friendly and extremely competent. Everyone was pleased with their meal. " Geordie Portions" is now a family criteria!
C. B.
Prime beef and triple cooked chips.
R. M.
Nice food , reasonably priced. Very busy when we were there at 17:00 - 19:00. Recommended.
A. R.
Very clear on Covid rules. Thought the food was a little pricey for pub grub but it was really tasty. Good vege/vegan choices.
J. E.
Busy Sunday for the staff, now 2030hr and things are quieting down. Staff are still friendly and helpful despite what must have been a tough shift. Great professionalism, great team. My steak was delicious, thank you.
c.
Excellent service, excellent food, great prices, very clean and staff very helpful and friendly. Good options for those with food allergies.
S. S.
Nice decor, lovely staff but food a bit lacklustre. I had pate to start with and although nicely presented, the two small pieces of toasted bread really were woefully inadequate. The main of roast beef, again presented in a fashionable manner with the veg hiding beneath the beef. The beef was tasty but the gravy tasted artificial. All in all an ok ish experience.
D. E.
WE went as a party of six for Sunday lunch, and just booked our table that morning. \We wanted to eat at 12.30 but they said that they didn't have a table for six until 2.30. We asked for a table for 4 and they said that they had "loads, what ever time you like", and then we asked about a table for 2 next to a table for 4 and that was no problem, so it's a pity they didn't think to work out those logistics themselves. The service was quick and obliging. I had a duo of pate as a starter (£5.95) and when it came there were 2 generous portions of different pate but it was accompanied by just TWO tiny slices of toast. When I asked for a bit more toast they went off to get some for me and then when the bill arrived I saw that we had been charged another £2.95 for a 'bread plate' (for 4 tiny slices), and for that reason I have marked down my star rating. The rest of the food was nice, but none of the dishes were very large. For a nice but very ordinary Sunday lunch in a chain pub, with one pint and one soft drink each we paid £30 a head, so I would have expected not to find them arguing over the odd slice of bread. That spoilt the experience for me, so I doubt I'll be returning.
P. F.
Had sunday lunch very good 👍
S. G.
This was a perfect place for a lovely meal and some drinks. The staff were lovely and helpful, the food and drinks were super tasty and the place itself was cozy and comfortable. Definitely would recommend.
b. 6.
Brilliant pub , staff really friendly and food was fantastic, i would recommend this pub either for a family or a couple also Brilliant
D. E.
Nice pub/restaurante. Had a Sunday roast with my partner recently in the gardens while the weather was nice. Table service for food but not drinks which is fine by me. Price was fair though soft drinks were nearly the price of alcoholic drinks. We will visit again sometime soon.
J. A.
The food was delicious and the drinks are good value (especially the Saturday two courses and wine for £21 offer). The service was attentive and very prompt. Definitely a good establishment and convenient for those living on the great park development.
S. H.
Good service and good selection of roast on a Sunday. Go early or book as it gets busy. We really enjoyed the beef rib. On the day we went, the Yorkshires and gravy were a bit burnt.
L. S.
Great social distancing practices in place and a delicious Sunday lunch. To be honest we had no plans to eat, as it is the first Sunday after lockdown opening and we were nervous. When we saw how organised they were we felt reassured and decided to stay
H.
Can't say the food was amazing. Lady who took our order and checked on us was lovely (blonde hair glasses). I got the fish and chips and was fairly average unfortunetly.
E. C.
It was relaxing, friendly and clean.
M. (.
This is a chain pub. And they have unfortunately been a bit too ambitious with their food menu.
It's not bad food at all, it's just over reached the skill of the chef's or the ingredients they have.
The triple cooked chips are way too big too.
C. H.
The food and service are always good. Quite pricey for ‘pub food’ but it’s better quality than your usual pub restaurant, the tables are well spaced and I never feel rushed. Good place to catch up with friends : )
D. O.
Great ambiance and drinks menu
My new local.
T. (.
Great place for food and a few drinks. Staff are super helpful and I've not had a bad meal yet. Recommend you check it out.
It has a nice outdoor area too.
L. M.
Lovely food and really great service. The only problem is, we didn't give a tip through the card machine (which we never do), then realised we didn't have any cash. The staff were really good too so we'll have to go back and leave a bigger tip next time.
a. f.
Went for a 50th birthday staff were so lovely and attentive nothing was a problem for them made it a lovely atmosphere food was amazing recommend Falcons Nest highly.
N. E.
We was staying at the Travel Lodge opposite for 5 nights for a Wedding at the Grand Hotel & to generally tour around Newcastle & surrounding areas, we used the Falcons Nest regularly each night (except the wedding reception, lol!), as the food was fantastic each time, along with great atmosphere, even on busy evenings, great location & the amazing staff there, namely Cheryl, Jess C & Benjamin! Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A great team there & was warmly welcomed each time, we offered our appreciation to the manager, whom was also delighted, well done & thank you!
We shall certainly visit again, next time we come to Newcastle.
Kind Regards,
Nick & Jo (The Londoners!)
A. B.
Older pub 17-1800 seems to have older couples here which suits us food is good did the platers and several starter's and a good range of beers but few are local more would improve it's authenticity. No local cider. Outside would be good on a sunny day 🌞few feet from the travel Lodge which also suited us... Would also suit kids as they can run around out side
d. t.
Excellent food and drink. Friendly staff
R. B.
One of the few places in Newcastle where I can confidently say that you are guaranteed a great pint of beer every time! This, combined with great food and the biggest beer garden around makes the falcons nest one of my favourite places to go on a lunchtime trip out from work.
If you're a Guinness drinker like I am, this place will quickly become your favourite too.
B. R.
Good atmosphere, fairly decent food. Had sirloin steak but it was a bit fattier than i would've liked, also quite a wait for our drinks order both before our food order and after.
E. L.
Thank you to the staff of the falcons nest for making my experience feel safe and well organised. We had a beautiful meal sat in the garden the service and the food was excellent . Well done.
S. Y.
Nice place. Cheap rounds. Didn't eat but menu looks nice 😋
K. G.
Standard pub in a convenient location for those driving to meet just outside the city. Pleasant staff but perhaps not enough of them to clear tables and serve customers without having to break into a trot most of the day.
n. f.
Triple cooked chips turned out to be frozen chips. Squash and coconut Curry was more like a kids portion. Poor vegetarian selection.
J. W.
Friendly with a great choice of drinks including non alcoholic as I was driving. Food was really tasty, well presented and served quickly. My steak was perfect
L. R.
We enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast after sampling our starters and enjoyed the meal very much. Thank you for great service by polite and friendly staff. Will recommend.
P. H.
Good food, lovely atmosphere and very helpful staff. I take my wife and daughter here quite regularly as the food is consistently good and the staff are always helpful and friendly.
M. L.
Great place and atmosphere, friendly especially Lee, worth booking a table as long queues as we were leaving.
D. P.

Lovely pub and well organised, food is nice but well overpriced and portions were v small, both kids were still hungry and I could have had another.
However very tasty and polite staff.
P. H.
Lovely Christmas lunch - shame they didn't have the festive J20 in stock. They really shouldn't have been advertising it when they didn't have any! Would otherwise have given 5 stars as staff were very friendly and good food.
J. L.
Food ok but service was terrible so slow. When we first got there we waited ten mins before we got served Bering in mind there was not a lot of people in as was still early. We went and sat down waited another ten mins before we got menus we ordered a sharing starter and two mains waited 40 mins for are starter then we ordered more drinks waited another ten mins before we got the drinks but people where coming in ordering drinks food and getting them straight away my husband got a meat feast pizza with not a lot of meat on it the plate that it was served on should never have been used as it had two big chips in it so will not be back in a hurry
F. D.
Food and service were good, some traffic noise when sitting outside, but not obtrusive.
J. S.
Great value for money when using the specials menu. Lovely relaxed setting, log fires burning in the winter and great outside space during the summer. Huge selection of drinks, something to suit everyone.
H. W.
Reliable, if not overly fussy, pub, conveniently located to nearby hotels. Prompt service and a menu diverse enough for most everyone. Recommend Falcons Nest while in the area, it won't disappoint and provides exactly what you'd expect.
G. S.
Great food and great attentive staff that don't intrude. Reasonably priced food, good selection.

Amazing service, good serving time from order especially as it was busy, also great communication from the kitchen as we ordered extra gravy, they didn't have any ready so they told us and kept us in the loop as they made it which was great, the waitress was very kind, and the food was amazing, huge Yorkshire puddings, as well as delicious Yorkshire bites, the pork belly I ordered was very delicious and tender

Although this is a newish building (built at the same time as the Travelodge next door) you would never guess, as it was very cleverly designed to look like a much older structure.
A pleasant atmosphere inside, and decent-enough pub food
W. H.
Nice beer, several ales to choose from, food is good and served quickly and stylishly. Lovely staff and reasonable prices.

I felt the food was well presented but it's a shame the food was cold and the food was put on a cold plate so I think that's why it ended up being cold other than that the meal would have been lovely

Standard 'Vintage Inn', food is sometimes good but it's real selling point for me is it's one of a handful of pubs in about 5 mile radius that isn't littered with 'undesirable people'. Probably due to its location.
