It was nice to watch your food being prepared from where I sat. On the evening I ate here there were only two chefs working. However they happily adapted the main course to suit my allergies. The food was delicious. The staff were very accommodating. My only criticism is none of the desserts were dairy free so I think they may need to have a look at this.

Visited The Hudson for restaurant week and was very happy with my experience. We were seated and given the food and drinks menus. They brought are drinks and took our order which we took from the restaurant week menu. On the starters arriving I was very impressed at the size of the servings considering we were only paying £20 per person. I can definitely recommend the lemon and herb infused chicken skewers and the pan roasted sea bass finished off by white chocolate cheesecake to finish. If the portions were downsized for restaurant week you still got value for money and definitely would recommend you try here. The staff were friendly and polite accompanied by great food what more can you ask.

Such a stunning place with fantastic vibes, way bigger than I initially expected it to be. They have different seatings with indoor and outdoor options. I loved everything I have ordered apart from the burger in which I found to be very very dry and not fresh at all. Furthermore, service was very slow and it was clear to see there wasn’t enough staff serving. Nonetheless I think I would come again.

Nice venue,the booths for dining are great. Food was good. One thing to note was after arrival I was catching up with my dinner guest and after being asked a couple of times if we were ready to order, (we weren't) the member of staff passed a comment that it had been over five minutes and we still hadn't ordered. 🤷‍♂️

A disappointing experience all in all. The reception was friendly. We were shown to our table which was next to a coat rack that staff seemed to use as their cloakroom and to store their bags. This would have been fine if not for our becoming a thoroughfare of staff rifling through their bags. There was also a large cold air outlet here, which became a problem. Our starters arrived which were delicious and gave confidence for the rest of the meal. Whilst enjoying the starters, I witnessed a chef batch cooking a very large quantity of burgers. Alarm bells started ringing. By the time we finished our starters, the aforementioned air vent started getting very cold. When we complained, our waiter said he would turn it off. 10 minutes passed and he brought the mains. He apologised that he couldn't see how to turn it off. Despite the restaurant being empty, there was no offer to move tables. The mains were very average at best and disappointing when eaten in such a cold place. We ate up and left as quickly as we could. I didn't think the meal was good value for money, nor good quality. This restaurant week offer didn't leave me wanting to return.

Lovely restaurant with great food. Would definitely recommend it. Two of our party are Gluten intolerant. They had a gluten free roast dinner which they said was the best gluten free meal they had ever had..!! Compliments to the chef.!!

Really lovely decor and ambience. The staff were really helpful however this place was let down by the food. I ordered a thai curry and the rice was soggy and inedible - the citrus taste was so strong I couldn't eat it. I was given chips as a replacement but chips and thai curry don't work so well.

We had a really nice time in the Hudson restaurant on Saturday evening. The customer service was great, the food was excellent and good value, but the Eton mess finished me off, absolutely stuffed after that 😂. Had a great evening from 5.30pm till around 8.30pm.

Excellent Xmas Day lunch. Good ambiance, food and service. The only criticism is that the waiting staff were rather over attentive, continuously enquiring whether the food was satisfactory, even to whether we enjoyed the bread rolls at the beginning of the meal.

My friends and I chose the Hudson from a list of places for our catch up/get together. We chose the £35 Bottomless brunch. On arrival the bar area was aesthetically pleasing, was busy and we made our through to the restaurant. Our server took our drink choices , mixture of gin fizz and some Prosecco. The gin fizz was very sweet and not sure how much gin was involved? Then we were served the platters and told they were to be shared between two. I was a little under whelmed, x4 potatoe tots in bowl, the sliders were so variable. Some were slightly pink so edible, but there were some unsatisfactory. We asked if one could be swapped as that person could not bare to eat it. The other was left as it was just too raw for them. The delay in getting a replacement slider took so long we had to remind the server to check on this replacement, It came back very well done to the point they had charcoaled the bun and the burger was so tiny it was overwhelmed by the garnish Overall it wasn’t terrible, however I wouldn’t take this option at all for any future get togethers/bottomless brunch, the food was just underwhelming and judging by the tiny sliders and lack of uniformity in cooking them, not worth the hassle. Would I return myself, maybe, my experience isn’t tarnished too much by our group experience.

I tried the Sunday lunch. Vegetables (cabbage, carrot parsnip) were boiled and a bit too raw for my liking . Only got one small roast potato. Beef was tough. Service was good but a little slow. If it wasn't 2-4-1 I would have rated lower. Based on this, I won't be rushing to try the main menu.

A bit of a shambles here for Sunday Lunch yesterday 29/8/21. Booked for 130PM and still sitting with main course plates an hour and a half later. The service was shocking with the amount on it could have been seemless, the kitchen seemed slow at getting food out and staff were also trying to deal with other tables complaining about delays.. In an open kitchen it's always best if the chef doesn't shout to get food out as it's not good to hear, also the Yorkshire puddings really shouldn't have been served, burnt and dry not nice at all, I was offered one main course off my bill as a gesture, which was nice, but I'd rather have a better quality experience to be honest, I'm not one for wanting discounts, this place is great food normally, but definitely needs attention in some areas, it spoils what could and was a great place to dine..

Anthony and Kally were just so helpful and friendly. They made our visit one to remember. It was a real treat to find such outstanding service and enjoy really excellent outside dining. The flatbread dish with rump steak to share was superb with a fresh salad on the side. A really lovely day out. Thank you!

A very nice bar with some very pleasant and friendly staff who genuinely want to help. Although £5 odd for a pint of Brooklyn (an American IPA which is a very nice drink). Way too expensive though but too be fair they are not the only bar/pub charging ridiculous prices for their drinks. Some of the bars on the Quayside are doing exactly the same. A consequence of Covid possibly although hopefully not. 🤕💉🤒💉😷💉 Take care folks and please be sensible, surely you would want to protect whoever is closest to you.

A nice place to go for cocktails and catch ups with friends. Cocktails are pricey but decent, cocktails are always expensive anywhere but they do BOGOF deals on certain days as well as cocktail trees which contain 9 cocktails and 9 shots so if there was a big group of you then it would work out cheaper to order one of these and split the cost. We discovered this place when we were getting married and we've been going back ever-since. Unfortunately like most bars and pubs, it does get a little rowdy so it's not ideal for a relaxing meetup but it has a nice atmosphere.

What an absolutely delightful place, from the moment we approached we was greeted by a welcoming smile who took us in and sat us at our very cosy inlay table, the food was delicious highly recommend the King prawns in honey sauce. The cocktails are delicious even though we were on mocktails they were superbly made. The restaurant itself is lovely well decorated & classy. That leaves me to the wonderful staff who are always smiling and helpful made this a wonderful experience will definitely be back again, love this place.

We started with the mac and cheese balls, which were very bland, no seasoning and lacking in cheesiness. Also the mushroom arancini which were also very bland and boring. The bbq steak skewers were without doubt the best thing we had, and the mussels were OK. For mains we had the chicken schimnitzel and see bass. The schnitzel was pretty good, nothing fancy, but the sea bass was a little disappointing. I doubt we'll be going again there are far better choices in Newcastle.

Really nice place. We turned up to early for lunch and to late for breakfast and only had 50 mins before the train was leaving. The waitress was very apologetic about the times, we told her not to worry and started to leave. The chef had heard our conversation and said providing we didn't want anything to lavish him and his team would make something up for us. My son had a huge burger, my wife soup and a sandwich and I had a salad. We will be back when we have time

On Friday 06/12/19,myself and my wife had our wedding afternoon meal here with our families. We can't thank them enough,Valentine and all his staff were fantastic to us all,the food was beautiful,service impeccable,really looked after us all to make a fantastic day. Me and my wife had met Valentine the weekend before when we went and ate in the restaurant, beautiful again,and we discussed details with Valentine the restaurant manager,and general getting to know him,he is a gentleman and great fella,he sorted everything we wanted. In our opinion,this is the best place in Newcastle,class above,we will always be returning,thank you Valentine and staff,love Paul & Jools and family xx

Came in a group for afternoon tea for a baby shower. Restaurant was opulent with modern grey and copper decor. The staff were really helpful, attentive and friendly. The afternoon tea was delicious and felt very special and a treat. Pots of tea and coffee were topped up throughout which was lovely. It all made for a cool, relaxed. Alreadyng to come back and telling everyone how good it was.

Very nice bar, although being part of the hotel, it's perhaps a little bit more expensive than others, but couple with the service, it's worth paying for. I've never been in when it's really busy, but could imagine it being a little bit claustrophobic when there are lots of people.
