A nice little pace inside the gate. Close to local bus route and metro. You get lovely food and drink at great price but the service isn't brilliant, although we ordered from our table. The staff weren't friendly or talkative but wasn't rude either. Think they could clean tables better between customers and quicker especially as not many customers in but enough staff. I do one in regularly as good value for money.

Just an average spoons pub really it gets really busy but prices of food and especially drinks are great... staff look fed up but they're probably just busy. Took a little while to get served at the bar but again understandable if its busy ... never seen a waitress collect food from the tables and bring the trolly bin with them to bare hand scrape food off into them but each to their own I guess. It was canny for a little drink definitely will be returning

Never actually went in the venue, ordered food and drinks on the app. Fast drinks and food delivery. Obviously not top notch gastro food but a bargain lunch and fast service. Wish there was salt n perrer on the table but forgot there are sachets indoors.

We all had good meals and our table was cleared and cleaned before we were seated there seemed to be less chips but in the present times I can live with that. Good menu choices.

Friendly staff nice meal however the atmosphere not good..students in a group where all.you could hear was one guy tell his story over and over he over thw sound if his own voice then another on video call showing all other patrons to his person on the videocassette. Although not entirely Wetherspoons fault it is there responsibility to ensure all customers are looked after are comfortable in their surroundings. I think someone could have asked the student group to keep other patrons in mind amd to turn it down a bit. We ate and left as did another gut at the next table for the same reason. I think staff are reluctant to confront people as they are very young themselves and there seems to be no visible presence of anyone in charge controlling the bar or other patrons. I've been in many Wetherspoons up and down the UK but wouldn't go back here.

Staff were fantastic , we asked for some ice as my wife had been stung by a wasp and the young chap behind the bar put some in a rubber glove for her as an ice pack and also brought us some vinegar for the sting. We ordered food in here and had a good few drinks. The food was the usual wetherspoons stuff which was really nice. The staff are a real credit to this pub 👏 thank you so much

Good bar and some amazing deals in the winter deals (99p a bottle!) However the whole menu was out of stock so there wasn't much choice at all. Hopefully they get a restock. We was there at 9pm on a Saturday night so thought everything would be loaded and ready to To. Great company and great service in the bar. Just the lack of options was the problem! Hopefully this is easily fixed!

Enjoyed our curry meal here, however noticed a separate nearby table had to wait over 90 minutes for their meal. Management did not deal with this well and advised that they could either wait for their meal or have a refund and eat elsewhere.

Spoons is Spoons. You get what you pay for and you can't really complain at the deals you get. We went here as a group of 4 for food. One person's food had undercooked meat in it and another person had a plate of food missing and had to ask a member of staff for it. All issues rectified in no time. The meal that had undercooked meat was fully refunded with a free drink added. Great service. Everyone happy all round.

Always call in here on match day. Really good value for money. Never had a bad pint and there is always a good mix of people. Stag and hen parties getting a good breakfast after the night in Newcastle. We use the app to order the food and drink and have never had any problems, just great service.

Bar service was fine, with ample staff there, all working. Not much else was very good though. Tables were dirty. Lots of used plates, mugs and glasses were on several tables. The coffee machine was out of order, but this was not mentioned when buying coffee. Overall the place was not very busy so it is difficult to excuse the untidy and grubby state of the place. Disappointing.

After passing this several times going to Cineworld, I called in for a quick drink just before the bus home. I expected this to be a bigger Wetherspoon for its location in Newcastle and the carpet could do with replacing, if you're after another Wetherspoon in Newcastle, I recommend The Five Swans.

One of the things I love about Wetherspoons pubs is the consistency of food across all of their venues. Unfortunately The Keel Row was the less good one I’ve eaten in so far. I chose a buttermilk chicken burger off the Christmas menu and it was cold. It was topped with two halloumi fries which were also cold. Not sure what happened as they weren’t busy. We ate at about 4pm.

After asking for medium to well done steak, it came bleeding when it was cut into. When I asked for it to be changed the girl literally scraped the chips onto another plate and took the steak to be replaced. Nobody wants to eat chips when blood has already ran onto the same plate. We were a party of 5 and none of the other meals were particularly nice either. On the mixed grill, every piece of meat was dry. Wouldn't recommend.

Staff are friendly and efficient. it's a clean pub. The main let down is the table numbers do not correspond to the app. Also the app doesn't recognize this pub so you cannot add feedback there. Come on spoons, sort this out.

First thing I have to say Karen was amazing, she was making sure everyone was sorted at tables, with social distancing in place, no one was allowed in without track and trace, and she policed that place with total first class professionalism. At times.like this we need more staff like her. My partner and I had a nice meal and a few drinks and would go back here again..

Most other nights it's a not to busy and doesn't get to loud which is nice.

I go back many years in this place. Excellent value for money. You just have to be patient at this current time. Just so happened to be slow service on this occasion, which was frustrating when you have a timed appointment elsewhere. Not blaming anyone, just the way it is at the moment. Hats off to the staff though, in these difficult times and not blaming anyone. Just got to accept 🙂

Takes a while to get served, as with any pub. as its in a central location there is always plenty of heads at the bar. looks very clean and tidy inside, tables are swiftly cleaned as people come and go. good verity of ales larger and wines. toilets are upstairs so unsure about disabled access to these. staff seem happy to answer any questions or concerns

Staff are great and the drinks are good value but the layout of the seating means everyone is crammed in together, it's not the most pleasant plase to unwind with a pint. Food is pretty sub par too. But i guess that's what you get for the value. Also, not a fan of all the pro-brexit propaganda all over the place. Makes a lot of people, including the staff, feel uncomfortable.

I normally always come here. Tbf 8/10 it's exactly what is expected. Today is the exemption.i was delivered the food without a single word said. Just dumped the plate on my table and walked off to do whatever he wanted to do. Nothing was said once my plate was took either. No check back or anything of the sort. I worked for spoons 6 months back and my manager would of shot me down for that. Food was great however. I got a mixed grill And it was delicious. A massive shame about they guy delivering food though. He needs to crack a smile and at least say " Enjoy your food"

The smallest spoons in the city I think but that's why I prefer it, it's a nice atmosphere and great value cause it's a spoons. Excellent deals especially recently as it was a gin festival but they always have something different happening also with it being in the gate means weather is never a problem and smokers have to go all the way outside of the gate so you dont have to walk through smoke clouds to enter and you dont get it wafting in.
