good bar there was a private do on in the other room landlord was very helpful good pint 👍

Visited here as we staying in the hotel opposite. Our first visit was good newly refurbished,landlady very friendly advised on places to go. We decided to eat there before going into town. This is where it let itself down we waited 45minutes for our order (the pub was very quiet) when this arrived it was charcoal the food was burnt to a crisp. We sent this back to the kitchen. We were offered a refund. But no offer of an alternative so a refund it was. The landlady from that point did not acknowledge us and no apology from the chef . Other than that great little pub.

I was here attending a party. The pub is clean and looks to be recently refurbished. The drinks are reasonably priced and are ok. My only issue was that I stood for some time waiting to be served (I had been aknowledged as waiting) yet the bar staff continued to serve around 5 other customers that arrived after me in the other bar. Passing me several times to do so.

Great reopening day after lockdown. Welcome drink, lovely buffet, newly refurbished. Food served from today May 20th. Lots of TVs for choice of sports. Locals very friendly and good humoured. Great staff. Excellent place to enjoy a drink.

In Newcastle for a few days so went in here a couple af time , the landlady remembered our drinks from the first time , she sat with us and spent time asking about us , how many places do that , just opposite the hotel we stayed in . Decent pint too .

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Love a pint here that much that we now drive from Hartlepool weekly, often staying in the hotel over the road after one two many. The best pub atmosphere for miles. My new "local".
