Reviews of The Quayside - JD Wetherspoon
S.
Came today during the day, it was great! We had a view of the river, the food was nice for the price, and the service was quick. Would recommend for anyone looking for a cost-effective place to eat/drink.
M. F.
Incredible back garden with a great atmosphere and even more on sunny days. Big choice of drinks and food. Very clean and good service.
D. D.
Love this place. Came to watch the football. People are friendly, prices are reasonable and everywhere is very clean
M. o. M. (. F. R.
This may be a budget pub but the food standard is pretty good! There is a nice choice of food items for every dietry nee....all priced low. Alcohol is also well priced.
The staff here were so welcoming and the outdoor seating was good as I didn't feel safe sat inside a busy pub.
Best of all the pub serves food usually until 11pm at night so if you are like me looking for a late meal this is a good place to stop by.
You also have nice walks from the pub alongside Newcastle's quayside where you can admire the famous city bridges including Gateshead Millennium Bridge (which is just 10-15 minutes walk away).
S. S.
Was very busy but what can you expect when it's 24 degrees up in Newcastle. Staff were friendly, fast service. Bar was quite full but didn't take long to be served. Amazing views by the riverside to have a cold one.
M. L.
Great spot down by the river, with a large courtyard with plenty of outside seats. Loads of space inside over two floors. Lots of nice beers to sample, including a nice Leffe blonde. Table service available via the app.
G. G.
Great pizza and great choice of ales. This particular pub has a good ambiance. Ordered on the app and service was prompt.
a. a.
A serene cozy responsible environment to relax after a hard day's work. You would enjoy the beautiful quayside from the front view with an accommodating courtyard that seats people from different walks of life. Above all, you will enjoy the excellent customer experience. Top notch. It's a place to see.
E. C.
Perfect pub for watching the world go by.
Good value and amazing views.
S. T.
Friendly staff and the food was fine, but surely when you order steak chips and peas but you ask for a jacket instead why do you take the peas away as well?
P. R.
Nice location, right on the river Tyne. Interesting building over several levels and rooms off main area. But, service is not quite up to standard, big delays in orders arriving and items ordered suddenly become unavailable.....Why put items on the app if they are not available (basic stock taking); one person had to wait nearly an hour for his food order to arrive and that was after chasing up the order twice. I didn't bother, just got a refund and left😠
R. M.
Went to the Quayside before seeing Paradise lost at the riverside had food and a bottle of prosecco was good value
S. S.
Probably the best ‘Spoon we’ve visited. Cosy, comfortable riverside pub with superb staff - very efficient and attentive which is not typical in this chain. As an added bonus, for the April real ale festival 12 beers are served in a pop up tent in addition to the 6 at the bar.
P. M.
Great pub with 2 excellent outside areas. Staff are always friendly even when they are really busy. As it's a Weatherspoons you can use the app to order and get delivery to your table. The cobbles are a nightmare to walk on but it's a small price to pay.
F. C.
Located on the riverfront. Good food with drinks included. All r reasonably priced. Very busy when visiting Easter weekend. Lovely beer garden. Worth a visit 😃
N. B.
On our way home we decided to pop to Weatherspoons for a drink (me coffee and my co-pilot a wine.) The sun was out the views over the Tyne of the bridges were magnificent. People were outside beside the river but we decided to go to the out door courtyard. It was busy but not too much. The prices were amazing of the food and drink. The staff were super attentive clearing tables of glasses and wiping table tops with detergents. We'll done Weatherspoons
P. Q.
It's ok it's a spoons not great nothing stands out but nothing too bad good views of the Tyne decent beer garden some staff are great polite talkative and attentive but also have some rude lazy pointless staff which is a shame because this could be a very good spoons. Sadly the beer is medioca not great but not bad lovely building tho. One thing I do hate no music
S. S.
Lovely walk on a good day, helps with a pint at the end
y. w.
The location for the pub is very good. Plenty of seating areas to choose from inside ,outside in the courtyard or overlooking the river. Food nice and good price same as the drinks good choice to choose from and reasonably priced.
K. H.
Everything you'd expect from a spoons. Service was excellent and staff were all very friendly.
G. W.
Great location, right on the water. A nice old building although that means that it's a bit higgelty piggelty in terms of the layout. The external staircase to the men's room is a bit scary so I stuck to the internal one mostly. Typically good value. On a personal note I would like to see smoking and vaping banned from all premises as it's difficult to enjoy the outside space when you're surrounded by plumes of smoke and vapour!
L. M.
The beer is amazing, never had a bad pint here. Also the pub supports 'Ask for Angela' and 'Safe Place' initiatives, so it can't be faulted.
m. b.
Large pub/eatery. Good prices for both and good quality grub for the price. Nice location right by the Tyne. Parking nearby. Seating inside and out. Would recommend
C. S.
Very pleasant visit, good food, speedy service, they need to coordinate their the offerings on the App with their till menu!! Anyway helpful staff sorted it for us and we had a very pleasant visit.
N. B.
Visited with a friend for my birthday. The staff were quick and the food was delicious. Big shout to whoever was working Monday 30th may and tried to distract the children from the potential jumper across the river.
M. F.
Good spoons pub ,very busy but nice ambience, Johnny Depp was close by that day I was in there, so when people found out they went to find him , don't know if they did , got served quicker , overall nice pub by the Tyne.
M. F.
Very busy , quite a long wait after ordering on app had to go get my own drinks, but staff were very nice and friendly, so not a problem I love spoons overall, so can understand when pub is busy , staff never never stopped .
J. F. (.
Love it here, last time we visited we had to send both meals back though, steak was over and scampi was burnt, scampi came back still a little over but I didn't want to send it back again and look difficult. Will still go there everytime I'm in Newcastle.
J. B.
Loved this place very nice pint o beer and very lovely atmosphere. And stunning evening views. Highly recommended.
D. J.
Rammed! 5pm. Manic at the bar, no free seats anywhere. Bouncing atmosphere with Stag and Hen parties at every turn. Would you expect any less from "Spoons!" 😄
J. C.
New better seating in the front beer garden. Will try outside soon when weather picks up. Great value as usual in Wetherspoon establishments.
D. W.
Lovely food and staff thank you x
P. T.
This pub has a great location by the Tyne. It has a pleasant atmosphere inside and out. Ample space with smaller nooks to suit your needs. Famous Wetherspoons' value. It was not particularly busy but quite a few tables were grubby and had used dishes, mugs and glasses from previous patrons. It could have been cleaner and tidier, so it loses 1 star. Quite good though overall. Recommended.
R. G.
An awesome experience in Weatherspoon's at Quay side. Worth a good experience. Great offers as well.
A. B.
The only negative I's I ordered a steak rare and it arrived medium, I was offered a replacement but had already finished most of the meal. Other than that, the prices and staff, even the bouncers were spot on.
T. C.
Pleasant staff, food ok , nice view but dear oh dear ...in need of either a refurbishment or a deep clean to end all deep cleans.
E. N. S.
Nice and clean wetherspoon with fast and professional service, stylishly decorated, with a parking, 2 gardens, front and rear. From front garden nice view at bridge and river especially night's and sunsets. Regarding food, by side of amazing sandvich, onion rings was bit old and dry, what wasn't expected from 4 and above Google star's ranked wetherspoon.
Still over all was nice experience and good time. Recommend.
M. G.
Good food, cheep drink the facility very old but has the historical spirit which makes you feel great while you there.
A. R.
Had a walk along the quayside today the weather was nice & warm 22 degrees with the odd shower it was really busy the stalls were out on the Newcastle side selling there wares spent a good 2 + hours just having a wander as there was plenty to see. Tried halloumi fries with a yoghurt & mint sauce for the fist time very nice, walked to the swing bridge & over to the Gateshead side as there are a group of new business (looks like a bunch of rusty containers don't let that put you off) that have just opened lots of food places to choose from something for everyone, you have to buy tokens when you enter & use them to buy food & drink a novel idea & there is a bar selling a good choice of beers, went back across the swing bridge & up as far as the Copthorne Hotel stopped in at the Quayside bar for some refreshment then back down to the stalls which were still busy & on to the car.
Try it on a Sunday its a good way to get some fresh air.
P. F.
Lovely quayside beer garden with enormous beer garden to the rear. Very pleasant staff. We'll worth a visit.
P. D.
It's a good pub! Great value and well run. Historic buildings now housing a fine Wetherspoons. Smack on the riverside, it's position could not be better. Ideal for a fabulous good value breakfast if your in the Travelodge or the Premier Inn near by.
This pub... I'm a fan!
A. M.
Food was ok but is it not time they do change of menu and a more lower kal and healthier options also
Also pizza and garlic bread should be cut before serving to customers
J. C.
Lovely walk great bar good beer a bit low on real ale choices but under the current circumstances great pub
R. T.
Was OK, bar staff need lessons on reading the queue, they were just serving who was in their eye line at the time. It wasn't so busy they couldn't see who was waiting first, if like me you're impatient when this happens, download the app and get table service, it makes the experience a little better
k. t.
Great pub within a really old historic building. Love the stone walls and beams. Christmas tree and decorations added to the atmosphere. Beef Madras was really tasty and hot. Chocolate fudge cake and ice cream were delicious and I couldn't believe
the huge portion.
Overall, a lovely experience.
D. E.
Visited on Saturday the 11th it was absolutely packed what everyone was enjoying their self the sun was out it was a good day
J. A.
A rustic spoon’s Its quieter than some because of it’s location but worth a visit. What you see is what you get. Large entrance marquee up at present not sure if it will stay after COVID is forgotten 🤔
K. C.
A great place for a drink or food whilst visiting the Quayside 👍😉
S. J.
One of the better Wetherspoons. Served quickly by friendly staff. Breakfast came within 5 minutes and it was hot which is not the case in a lot of 'Spoons.
M. A.
The quayside Wetherspoons seems still to be a popular pub, though definitely quieter than my last visit in December!(Approximately 2 weeks before Christmas!) However,I prefer it that way,and still a lot of folk in there! Enjoyed a couple of of pints and a panini! Brought promptly to my table!
D. W.
Best value for money in Newcastle. It's a standard Wetherspoons, but the location is perfect, right on the quayside.
C. D.
Great location, stella just as it should be, staff good and not full of usual clientele associated with wethspoons.
j. w.
Pretty much a typical spoons but a comfortable warm atmosphere , my pint of Abbott ale was very reasonably priced and well kept ..
T. H.
Really nice spoons, good views, good service, good food, great location if your in one of the nearby hotels breakfast is much cheaper!
D. R.
It’s a Weatherspoons but in its own way. Lovely location on the quayside, over-looking the Tyne. Great prices (£2.19 a pint!) cobbled entrance round the back but smooth paving tiles could facilitate accessibility. Also a radar toilet available.
S. D.
Pretty much your typical Spoons but in a fantastic location right on the river. Great service 👍
a. O.
Well used pub, plenty of life
d. t.
Its wetherspoons, cheap drink and a good breakfast in a great old building by the river. I don't really like the sassage but its the same in all spoons and i always eat it so i shouldn't complain.
c. C.
I really like the quayside. It's always a nice experience being in Newcastle and the quayside is the best wetherspoons in newcastle in my opinion. Good guest ales and friendly service with lovely surroundings
M. D.
Excellent quality of service and great staff.
Very good food! Best of beers!
A. L.
No beer before 10am, bad buzz.... Great breakfast though...
J. B.
Usual spoons and good value. Good views and usually more space on the upper level. Ladies loos up there too so less of a walk. They were very busy and forgot a coke in the order and got small and large versions of fish and chips with extras mixed up. Staff were very apologetic and fixed immediately. Still 5 stars.
Best place for views and value on quayside so head there for sure.
V. G.
Perfect for a quiet afternoon drink or an evening meal before hitting the town.
S. G.
Quite a nice Wetherspoons pub right next to the River Tyne close to the Tyne Bridge. We only had a beer but the service was good and it was quite busy.
r. r.
Busy and bustling set down on the quayside (hence the name) on a Very warm afternoon it was vibrant and very popular place to chill and have a meal and a drink
B. M.
Great pub, quick service, good food and drinks. Huge outdoor seating area
C. L.
Absolutely marvellous, fabulous service and staff, the best cottage pie E-V-E-R. The food was utterly delicious, massively enjoyable, satisfying and recommended 100****
R. S.
Usual Wetherspoon's fayre but in a building full of character. In decent weather the huge courtyard out back has a great atmosphere.
R. W.
Typical spoons, very reasonable prices for Newcastle quayside. Very busy but service was good no long wait like some spoons
R. R.
Decent pub to be fair if you know what wetherspoons is then it's just that, good staff that served quick with a nice riverside location....
J. K.
Lovely staff ,reasonable price drinks and food .lovely view of Tyne. I would highly recommend this pub .
M. A.
Excellent Pub, good staff and very well ran.
J. K.
Food was served within 10mins of ordering, staff very friendly, but can get very busy at times.
M. B. (.
Tried to order a curry and was told by a woman behind the bar that there wasnt any left and I need to order somthing else. Went back to my table and used the app then 10 mins later my curry was there on the table. Apart from that the meal was very nice and so was the mixed grill we also ordered but whoever that woman was, she almost made us leave.
M. B.
Good service, nice food, good value for money and lovely picturesque location.
A. G.
Nice cheap and cheerful breakfast
W. W.
Beautiful, old and a view of the Tyne. The pub was lovely and I'd go back happily. However there were 4 older men beside us chatting about breakfast. I've never heard anything so funny. The guys were so wonderful and chatted to us. What a visit, perfect (the onion rings were delicious too)!
J. C.
Though the place was rammed (Easter Sunday and NUFC had just won at home), the staff were helpful and service was really quick.
D. G.
Very busy but enjoyed sitting outside by the river. Quicker to order on ap.
P. M.
Excellent food and service , friendly staff who are helpful the best steak house in Newcastle, would highly recommend
A. H. B.
Another great Wetherspoons pub, Great atmosphere service and food
G. H.
Really great location along the Tyne River.
Worth a visit, but can get busy.
A. C. C.
On the Quay front loads of places to sit in side an out an beside the river Tyne .Very good food quick service friendly helpful staff.
P. H.
Went in for lunch and a few drinks. Great value as expected, prompt service.
R. D.
Lovely place, friendly and helpful staff and service was excellent
G. H.
Very busy no service system at bar. Food OK. Drinks brilliant 👏
C. A.
Outdoor area could do with few more outdoor heaters to keep us dog walkers warm when out with our doggies n dropping in for a quick pint !
S. P.
Good food, prices are excellent. Very busy Friday night
C. L.
Love to go here but if you go on sundays when the market go early as it get crouded
D. H.
Great place to go for walk or just chill especially when the weather is nice as well, bosh pubs around too
J. W.
Good value food and drink. Friendly staff, often busy with a good atmosphere. Nice views of the river. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Often long queues especially in the evening. It can take a while for orders to arrive when busy.
A. W.
Great place for beer and food. Great views on the water front.
D. 0.
Pretty cheap drink nice old building but very very busy.
G. L.
It was very busy, but still got served quickly for food and drinks👍
F. R.
Nice little sitting area not far from the river however the outside seating needs replacing as a lot of them are damaged
R. N.
Fantastic prices in comparison to bar surrounding the area. Table service was a bit slower than I'd like
R. K.
Great place to have a drink and view the river. Newcastle is an awesome city
C.
Nice bar. Good food. Amazing views up and down the river. Perfect place to stop in during a bike ride!
E. G.
Good pub, been a few times and never any bother.
K. H.
Great place for a spoons Newcastle is a great place for a visit 😀 people are so friendly including the staff here.
J. K.
Good service, spacious pub, with bargain wetherspoons prices, close by to all tyneside land marks.
L. S.
This is a beautiful pub we always look for a weatherspoon when visiting somewhere. Love the old shape and character of the pub. Food was great and staff seemes nice. It was a very busy pub and was very loud. We did go on a night so it's to be expected people where just having a good time. Everyone was very nice.
N. H.
Service was dreadful the day I was here. Over a thirty minute wait for drinks ordered on the ap. When asked about this the woman who appeared to be in charge was extremely rude.
The pub itself is nice though and the location is good.
I. J.
Good place with cheap drinks and good food, nice place to have a small family or friend gathering
E. T.
Breakfast bun and unlimited tea and coffee great value for money. Would recommend it
J. B. (.
Good big tent outside makes it ideal for a few too many beers
J. G.
Nice pub but was disappointed in the service maybe it was because they were busy who knows but good prices for drink and food
E. M.
Busy when we went in.....took a while for 2 sarnies we ordered to get to our table. Can't fault the location right on the riverside
C. W.
Security staff seem to think everyone's out to cause trouble
C. H.
Food and drink at a great price! Super friendly staff too with a lovely view of the quayside
L. K.
Very lively pub. Great atmosphere. Loved it
b. l.
Wasn't bad considering it's a wetherspoons still can't put Carling into a Carling glass
M. H.
Very busy but service was ok . Friendly staff , could do with a deep clean though
I. G.
In Newcastle for the weekend, this place good location, quick & easy breakfast sausage & egg muffin really enjoyable. Some of the staff need some customer service training as lacked interaction skills but some were very informative....don't be put off, lovely food at very reasonable price. Give it a go.
P. L.
A great located Wetherspoon pub! I bet it’s full on in the summer time and the weekends.
L. W. W.
This place is very popular, one because it's a weatherspoons and therefore the beer will be well looked after a reasonably priced. And two because it's on the river, the big River, you can almost hear the dulcit tones of Jimmy Nail floating out of the water as you sip your shipyard ale! And it doesn't get any more geordier than that.
M. J. (.
Probably one of the nicest Weatherspoons I have visited. Easy to order on the app and food and drinks arrived quickly despite the pub being busy. Staff were friendly and efficient, would definitely visit again when visiting Newcastle.
C.
Not impressed enough to come back here anytime soon.
They had a wide selection of drinks available and a beer festival available. But in terms of atmosphere, there is none. There was no music in the background either because of licensing reasons. Shame
D. H.
Very laid back venue have to go there again
S. P.
One of the coolest wetherspoons pub I've ever visited.
M. D.
The Wetherspoons pubs are a great go to for a meal and a drink. Great prices!
S. D.
Absolutely amazing night out. Staff really friendly And helpful.
Cheers guys
H. C.
Very nice pub. Lovely location
M. K.
Great place .good food.best pubs of quagmire..food not expensive great gins to try.
K. W.
Very nice place and by the quayside by the water which we love .It was very busy as expected to be but good atmosphere
N. H.
Breakfast is just ok. Typical Wetherspoon staff were friendly and professional.
K. M.
Lovely good in an excellent location. Views from front of the bar are superb.
G. D.
Busy little (well big) place. Lots of seating inside but very little out front where you really want to sit. Staff are happy to help but think they were short staffed when we were there as it took an age for them to clear tables. Better than your average wetherspoons
B. H.
Visited a couple of times over a short stay in Newcastle. Usual Wetherspoons fare, good service, attentive young staff, chips always good, and pitchers of cocktails go down better than expected.
Drab interior, that's fine it saves money on the beer but guys the toilets are shocking.
One area that needs massive attention.
Especially in these days of self sanitizing.
L. W.
Great prices, friendly staff good choices
s. w.
took my family there for a meal and we enjoyed ourselves
C. M.
Love the old part of Newcastle
P. C.
Nice food. Great location. Nice service
B. M.
Great venue, & atmosphere, good service, food & drink.
P. H.
Good spoons with huge back garden and small front garden overlooking the Quay
D. B.
Really enjoyed our visit to the Quayside. Typical Wetherspoons pub ,good drinks at good prices. We sat outside and ordered through the app. The staff that served our drinks were very friendly and the service was quick.
N. S.
Such a lovely place for a walk or a pint or a bite.
C. D.
A decent sized Whetherspoon's with great views of the quayside and river Tyne over two floors. Cheap drinks and food which are tasty. A lovely courtyard and outside seating in an historic area of the city. Great for groups and students, as well as pre-drinks before hitting the toon.
A. H.
Lots of space both inside and out, good menu and friendly staff. Bar gets noisy quite a lot but there is a lovely quiet upstairs with gorgeous views over the river. Great place to come
D. S.
Lovely sat outside nice place and great prices
R. I.
Lively atmosphere, great set up and reasonable prices 👌🏻
A. G.
Good atmosphere here and excellent location right by the Tyne.
C. H.
Great location and views from the front side, usual 10k walk to the toilets. Very old building with lots of character. The table service via app is great and worked well.
E. G.
Good pub food and drinks at great prices. Lovely situation for a view of the river Tyne.
S. B.
Check out the menu and drinks prices amazing !
D. J.
Iconic Views, friendly and fun
S. M.
Cheap ........ that's all you need to know can afford a drink and food no more to say
G. W.
Visit for breakfast 2 breakfast 2 cofees £11.80
Hash browns were hard ...it was warm not hot ....beans were cold ....coffee was warmish ...
Not impressed
P. M.
Nice setting on Riverside, pleasant and very helpful staff
E. D.
Nice location food was a good but parking is impossible
j. b.
Only four stars . Watch the app or staff as it misleads you with food . We ordered a chicken tikka masala curry and it came with no naan or poppadoms even though it said comes with all. Queried it with staff and they said we must of ordered a simple one , however I had taken a screenshot of the order and it said Chicken tikka masala so they had to get the extras . Didn't like being fobbed off , however the staffs personalities and the venue made up the four stars . Would have got five if honest and got what I paid for !!
M. M.
Pub atmosphere on the quayside, indoor and outdoor seating reasonably priced food and drink
D. P.
Good food and good beer service was fast and friendly
S. J.
Awesome place..
Everything what we need can get from there..
J. D.
Unusual old fashioned pub. Good atmosphere. Usual Wetherspoon value.
J. B.
Food arrived very quickly (was moderately busy) with the food being pretty good in total, one pizza was a bit undercooked though which was a shame.
It's a spoons so you know what to expect, ordering from the app is much easier than a weird website link that other places have
K. G.
Fantastic weatherspoon by the river. Great view and beer garden front and back. Attentive staff.
J. P.
Great place to stop after a walk along the Tyne seeing the bridges.
K. B.
Great service especially for covid restrictions. Well organised. Nice to get out again!
C. L.
One of the better 'spoons, right on the Tyne, next to the bridges.
J. B.
Great views, love the bridges, fantastic selection of bars, restaurants and hotels
B. E.
Look, anywhere that 3 thirsty photographers can get 3 coffees + FREE REFILS for less than 1 elsewhere at the awesome price of...wait for it.....£2.97 deserves 4*. Didn't give it 5* as (1) The Gents stank and were way too hot. (2) We didn't try any food or alcohol on this visit, maybe next time
D. T.
Really nice breakfast!
Also do nice daytime food. Happy to replace food if it is not a good standard
U.
Great night out. Service was excellent
L. H.
Good choice on menu . Many meals with drinks included. Plenty of space. We stayed outside and ordered by app but you can go inside and order at bar if you prefer.
G. W.
Really good. Served with food within 5 minutes of ordering. Would have given 5 * had I been able to get onto their Internet and order through the app, which also didn't seem to work either.
J. R.
Walked the wall lunch at the Quayside on last day. Despite first barman appearing to have the hump. Meal was served quickly, tasty and hot and we enjoyed our visit
P. B.
Great location right on the river Tyne, and a lovely old building too
R. M.
This is what a pub should be 8 quid cheaper for a round for four that other pubs
S. P.
Old style pub building double rum with mixer 4.95 nice 👍

Pretty much as you would expect from a Wetherspoons. Service was very quick (I ordered on the app each time I visited). Indoor seating was limited, but plenty of covered tables in the outside area at the rear.
D. T.
Great. Always canny. Cheap. Great offers. Great burger.
Not sure why when you are already outside you have to walk through the courtyard through the bar through another courtyard to then smoke... when excess movement is not advised... And you're already sitting outside. Yeah will be Non smokers out there but surely that's a hazard of sitting outside in general? Only downside for my friends was that
M. B.
Very busy at most times. Cheap Beer, good basic food. Nice location.
S. “. M.
Great real ale with terrific view of bridges over the Tyne.
G. T.
Nice area for a walk, food, coffee and drinks. Lots of people out walking, running and cycling, even a few buskers bringing some tunes!
M. G.
I absolutely adore Gateshead Newcastle all my family of there I go up is often as I can to the synagogues
v. r.
Bit dark inside but food was nice
K. M.
Excellent 😊
H. L.
Lively place, little bit crowded on late eveni g. Food and drinks reasonable priced and quality for such price is hard to beat.
J. D.
Good views and as it's a spoons feels like every other, not saying it's a bad thing
H. K.
Great Service and friendly Staff, best spoons I have been in. Staff are very helpful and going the extra mile when you order something which is not on the menu. I always love coming here.👍👍👍👍😁😁😁
H. B.
When visiting Newcastle you have to go to the quayside, it's an absolute must. Lovely bars along the water and up the streets. Lively atmosphere, good mix of drinkers, good mix of pubs. You have posh hotels and travel lodge, wetherspoons and posh bars. Something to suit everyone's tastes and budget. A great time guaranteed. Try the Sunday Market along the quayside, fabulous stalls selling unique products and food. The Sage is over the water which you get to by walking over the millennium bridge. The sage is an ultra modern venue for music, arts, theater etc. We spent the whole day on Sunday along the quayside. We stayed in the copthorne hotel on the Saturday and didn't leave quayside til 10pm Sunday night. So much to see and do. Newcastle is a thriving and bustling city welcoming all who visit.
W. B.
Really nice place had lovely weather lovely waterfront busy bars and restaurants well worth a visit
S.
Great place good beers and food and amazing prices. Lots of outdoor seating here front and back.
i.
Its a spoons.
What more can I say..?
I always like going to this one; tends to be where people start off: so conversation is always good... the decorations are nice, and the outside seating area offers a sound view of the Tyne which never gets old.
Speaking of outside: the courtyard was great: plenty of seats and space to fit everyone in a group on a table, but the cobble floor will make some tables a bit wonky which is fine and if you’re a lass try to avoid heels in this area...
Plenty of good crack with the Staff, while also providing friendly Service, fast: all my drinks have been refreshing, and the food is what you’d expect; for a bleeding good price. Helps that you can order everything from the app, straight to your table.
But ofc: it has to be said that the interior cleanliness is a bit lackluster. The bathrooms being pretty grim, and some of the surfaces are a little stickier than I’d preferred... but: for what it’s worth, it Does a lot better than a lot of pubs and bars in the city.
If your plan is to go out for a chill night with mates then there’s nothing I’d rather recommend better than a spoons, and this here is a class one
P. M.
Nice bar, good prices for a quayside bar.
Q. R.
Decent enough for a spoons, being on the quayside is great too
J. R.
Great for a walk, cycle, run. Or just a drink. Nice views.
p. q.
Busy quay side pub with good views
A. K.
Lot's of space, value for money, big range of beers, wines and spirits.
D. R.
Nice food nice place good food.
J. B.
Great place. Good prices as Wetherspoons always is. Indoor seating and also heated outdoor area. Friendly staff.
P. W.
Free refills on the coffee, very nice.
G. R.
Great location. Good beer choice at reasonable prices.
G. C.
Yet another weathers Poon's, its ok. Can't complain about the food at these prices.
J. D.
Lovely atmosphere, cheap drinks
d. t.
Great weather spoons, has the lot here ✌️
P. S.
Friendly staff, cheap drinks, but terrible breakfast experience for the 3 consecutive days when we visited. Hardly any breakfast items were available and what we did get was virtually cold. Same for several other customers.
Sometimes cheapest isn't good!!
B. C.
Excellent place!!
Refreshning breeze from Tyne River + Scenic landscape of Gateshed side + Happening Crowd + Riverside walkways and the seating areas + Various Resturant, Bars and Cofee shops
Alltogether a charming and happening environment.
O. A.
Great courtyard. Cheap food and drinks. Order everything from the app to your table. Always good.
Does wonders for the brand of Wetherspoons. Does a lot better than a lot of pubs and bars in the city.
You get better service here than the Pitcher and Piano up the road.
J. L.
Nice place friendly and inviting, would be far better though is they fixed the ridiculously slow WiFi as mobile data signal is lost when inside.
e. w.
Perfect location for the bridges
A. D.
Great pub with great priced drinks. A big outdoor seating area at the back with a huge marquee to cover you from the northern weather. A lovely seating area at the front as well over looking the tyne.
S. H.
Eventually got there, yeah one or two nice bars, restaurants etc. very busy as it is graduation day, but won't rush to go back again 😕
C. H.
App was down and wrong burger came but was hungry after a day at work so ate it
M. B.
New carpets fitted by mark Buntain, mark Naylor and b p c flooring
R. D.
A nice place to stay, friendly staff. Car park needs to be a bit bigger.
P. R.
Nice place. Just expect to be disappointed when ordering food as it won't be in stock. Evening meal was all day brunch. Alternative was curry and rice 🤢😇
k. b.
Spoons great food staff seemed a bit dizzy
J. W.
Nice location at quayside, well maintained, good service
G. W.
Really good. Served with food within 5 minutes of ordering. Would have given 5 * had I been able to get onto their Internet and order through the app, which also didn't seem to work either.
L. H.
Good choice on menu . Many meals with drinks included. Plenty of space. We stayed outside and ordered by app but you can go inside and order at bar if you prefer.
B. C.
Absolutely great afternoon and very welcoming high quality performances see you next time
J. B.
Sunday market was very interesting lits if street food from all around the worlld we had Caribbean very tasty and a lovely family serving
J. K.
Definitely one of the best weatherspoons to visit
K. B.
Very good place. Food is amazing and the beer is at a very good price
G. B.
Could have been better. Would have been nicer if tables were properly cleaned instead of half heartedly wiped down. Better yet disinfected.
G. D.
Busy little (well big) place. Lots of seating inside but very little out front where you really want to sit. Staff are happy to help but think they were short staffed when we were there as it took an age for them to clear tables. Better than your average wetherspoons
R. D.
A nice place to stay, friendly staff. Car park needs to be a bit bigger.
j. t.
Nice pub good atmosphere.
L. R.
Canny pub, no doubt about it. The cobbled outdoor area was a bit of a challenge in heels but I coped well enough.
Both the inside of the pub & front and back outdoor areas are large with umbrellas at most tables. The front outdoor area has maintained its historic look. Nicely decorated and clean inside.
2 jugs of cocktails: £13 quid. Very reasonable for the Quayside area.
M. N.
Excellent part of Newcastle to explore. Had to try out the deckchairs. Walked down towards Ousburn where there is an incredible Italian ice cream shop set back from the Quayside....delicious
T. S.
Not our first visit to the Quayside. So it is pleasing to find that the high standard of service that we received on our last visit has been replicated. It's been over a year. Ideal place to eat before our gig and a great place to relax with a few beers after the gig. It helps that our hotel is a short walk along the quayside. It also helps that the drinks are a fraction of the inflated hotel drinks prices. We will return.
I. M.
Great. Company and good meals 😋
R. T.
Gets very busy, despite a lot of outside seating.
Good selection of drinks and food.
M. L.
Very reasonable priced with a good atmosphere
s. e.
Had a nightime pint and a good morning breakfast. Good service in an excellent location.
D. B.
Great location. Lovely in summer
A. G.
Standard Wetherspoons with a wide selection of well priced beers and food.
The Quayside is cosy and offers fantastic views of the Tyne Bridge, and River Tyne itself.
d. b.
Was busy staff worked well food came out quickly.disappointed half menu not available
j.
A nice chilled pub with lots of outdoor seating on both sides. Bar staff were very friendly also.
C. F.
Great Wetherspoons pub on the bank of the river Tyne next to the Tyne Bridge. Lovely conversion of a big old building. Outside seating area to the front, overlooking the river and courtyard to the rear. Great table service, friendly staff, good food and good selection of drinks.
L. K.
Excellent service great bar x
S. R.
Very reasonable, good food, good atmosphere, good staff = spot on
B. J.
Nice to go for a walk, jog, cycle along the river. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Lots of photo opportunities along the way.
G. A.
Nice place for a pit stop to people watch
D. R.
Great selection of food and drink. Location great
M. T.
Lively place with great views of the Tyne river with easy access to to the fun and games both sides of the river. Great staff, shame about the pay levels. Can get crowed with a wide range of ages, but clears just as quickly. Good range of beverages.
G. F.
Good pub you know what you get from a wetherspoons
J. K.
Definitely one of the best weatherspoons to visit
M. L.
The service was efficient and helpful. The door staff were also pleasant and helpful. Food and drink were very good value.
C. L.
very good food. doesnt take long for it to be bought to the table.
L. “. F.
A lovely warm building with some history. Also it's a spoons.
S. G.
Didn't have to queue for long to get in and was quite straightforward regarding track n trace, staff were friendly, service was good but the standard of cleanliness wasn't the best.
C. B.
Wetherspoons, cheap grub, cheap drink.
Nice enough. My panni could have done with a fire extinguisher, bit burnt in one corner, well more than burnt.
It was okay. Typical wetherspoons.
P. G.
Love this spoons right on the quayside great location friendly staff, cheap drink massive beer garden lovely on a summers day great view of the Tyne and all the bridges.
C. B.
Fantastic place with amazing restrictions for COVID19. Well sheltered and although the courtyard isn't too cold, it would definitely benefit from heaters which would definately welcome more guests.
C. T.
Writing this while still in the place. Service is brilliant. My wife's steak was very undercooked but the staff replaced the whole meal no problem and gave us complimentary drinks. The prices are also very reasonable. Good atmosphere, and wouldn't hesitate to return.
m. h.
Lol must have been a good night out in Newcastle, don’t remember going that pub.
J. B.
Love the quayside, the atmosphere, staff are friendly, very busy though, but if your lucky enough to get a seat outside it’s lovely sitting by the river Tyne, I love Newcastle, great place to visit.
E. S.
Very friendly, helpful. One way system reinforced and very aware of the rules in place. Lovely place to have a drink and even though we did not eat at the time the food looked fantastic
C. N.
I had my first proper date with the man I now call my boyfriend a year on. Quirky bar with some great features. Great food and drinks menu too 😋
A. P.
One of the nicer Wetherspoons I’ve seen
M. D.
Having a lovely time at the dream apartments in Newcastle been in a few pubs in the area and can not fault any for customer service door staff more than helpful and very friendly well done Newcastle
j. t.
Nice pub good atmosphere.
T. D.
The breakfast was warm not hot, also kitchen couldn't count 2 mushrooms, only had 1 on my plate when it arrived! The place itself looked very nice but when you really looked, the place was tired and in need of a bit of tlc. The 1st table we sat at was very wobbly so we moved to bench seating, the seat covering was heavily stained and looked shiney. Thought it was going to be sticky, but it wasn't. Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful.
A. B.
Weatherspoons food but surprisingly it was very good. Service was quick and staff very pleasant. Building is very old and needs some TLC upstairs.
k. j.
Busy, buzzing bar ..food usually good but had the worst steak ever! Should have complained but didn't!
M. S.
Wetherspoons value. My steak was perfect
G. B.
Could have been better. Would have been nicer if tables were properly cleaned instead of half heartedly wiped down. Better yet disinfected.
P. G.
Good breakfast, very friendly and quick service. Nice coffee.
T. S.
Beautiful historical location
A. E.
Nice bar drinks reasonably priced for ncle quayside
G. J.
Another cracking Wetherspoons. Great service and friendly staff. Usual drinks and fayre. Ordered the 3 plate special, wings, nachos and fully loaded chips for £10 great for sharing. Used the Wetherspoons app with ease. Prompt service and no problems. Great views on the terrace weather permitting of course. Great place to charge the batteries at lunch or dinner.
C. W.
Its a spoons. A pretty spoons though. Staff are good crack. Service is fast and drinks are cold and refreshing. Could do with some air fresheners in places but its a sound pub with sound staff.
G. J.
A very good place to go for a couple of drinks and good company.
R. A.
Brilliant pub, very busy when we were there but staff superb. No long wait for drinks or food even so busy. Very clean, cosy, highly recommend. PS different as chalk from cheese as the 1st one we went in, in this city, The Mile Castle. Another one on the list of spoons visited.
T. T.
Very nice pub next to Hartlepool National Naval Dock both of which are a must see in you're in the area.
B. L.
friendly, great atmosphere.
B. C.
Absolutely great afternoon and very welcoming high quality performances see you next time
L. M.
Great Spoons in a lovely part of Newcastle. We visited on the morning of the Heineken Champions Cup final (come on Sarries!) so the pub was heaving with rugby fans, but there was no scrum to get to the bar. They had lots of staff on so getting served was easy. There was a fantastic atmosphere and it was nice sitting outside in the sunshine beside the Tyne. We returned after the match and ordered using their app, which worked really well. Our food and drinks were delicious and I would definitely return next time we're in the area. Highly recommended!
G. 5.
There is only a few problems with this restaurant when we visited, such as the signing in process where you either use the NHS app or write down your name etc was a bit confusing, and it did take a while to get served, but after all that the food was great and well worth the wait!
P. H.
Great views good value food and drink
P. C.
Dashed in before gig at riverside very busy no tables so standing littering starring at people to leave. Service so fast as to be amazed. Chips okay frozen but quick. Garlic bread decent. Overall pretty good.
c. g.
Good real ales, nice staff.
J. H.
Good location, nice food, great selection of drinks & reasonably prices.😊
J. R.
Good beer great location
L. G.
A Weather spoons chain, which I love. They have kept the original pub, which is on the Quayside. Standard food and drink. Not posh but at least you know you're not going to be ripped off. You know the price, the quality the Weatherspoons standard. The setting was fabulous, as are so many of these pubs
M. B.
One of the nicer spoons in Newcastle and a very interesting building.
B. K.
Its a wetherspoons pub, regulars know what to expect, cheaper beer and value for money food.
D.
Very good for a Wetherspoons and extremely cheap for a city pub. The staff are some of the best I've seen in this chain - friendly, informative and helpful - a very welcome change from my local, The Stanley Jefferson!
The building itself is very old and interesting, nicely decorated and clean. Food was the usual fare but served quickly and hot.
Highly recommended.
P. K.
Great place nice food
R. P.
Just like any other weatherspoons so you know what to expect food wise and price wise for beer. Beautiful building and is great during the summer. Only thing which let's is down is they don't allow dogs in the beer garden anymore. Shame really.
J. E.
Not a massive fan of Whetherspoon pubs usually this one is exceptional. Food and service were great. Fantastic location and aspect. Great for a beer out front by the river. Or, a nice courtyard to sit in at the rear of the pub. Would definitely visit The Quayside again if in Newcastle.
J. P. E.
Amazing location with a great variety of outdoor seating (by the river or indoor terrace), all with the great prices that a Wetherspoons offers! Will visit again!
R. T.
Fabulous place! Beautiful inside and out, and right next to the Tyne so a nice cool breeze when it's hot! Great food & drink and a classic friendly atmosphere. Housed in an old coach house and good to sit and think about it's history.
Like Arnold says "I'll be back!"
B. L.
Standard Weatherspoon fare, located on the side of the Tyne 300yrds from the swing bridge. Usually busy weekends and sunny days, nice end to a stroll round the quayside or visit to the Baltic
A. E.
Just a Sunday afternoon drink... nothing special
S. E.
Pleasant atmosphere for a quiet one after work. Decent beer. Low prices.
s. W.
Nice location cheap drinks
D. G.
Amazing views at night time. Well worth the visit.
K. B.
Very good place. Food is amazing and the beer is at a very good price
M. W.
I would like to take this opportunity to commend the manager Chris and his staff on duty the day my friends and I were there, having a lovely afternoon when one of my friends felt poorly (not yet through the drink I might add) and she suddenly blacked out. The staff were quick to respond and took good care of her until help arrived to take her to hospital to be checked out. She is fine now but it was rather scary at the time, so a big big thank you from all of us and we will be back to carry on where we left off.
S. W.
If you can get a seat in the front beer garden on a sunny day this is the perfect spot. It just can't be beat. Others may have similar views but you pay higher prices. Here, you get great food and drink choice and great prices too. It's hard to beat a Wetherspoins with a beer garden and an amazing view.
M. G.
A rather busy Wetherspoons pub. Friendly staff and fast service for food, as I was on my own and didn't want to lose my table I used the App to purchase my food. Less than £11 for a Pizza, chips and a pint of beer.
The food arrived quickly, was well cooked and hot.
G. J.
Food was hot, reasonable size servings. Twice ordered coke with no ice from the same barman and twice had to ask for it to be removed from my drink and have the glass topped up. Other than that, was an OK visit.
S. t.
1 of the best pubs on the quayside with great prices for drinks and great service also , the views if sitting outside is amazing looking across at the bridges in both directions
F. S.
I would say this is the best Wetherspoons I've been in (and I've been in quite a lot around the country). The quayside as you would expect is right on the Tyne in a conversion of a fantastic old building, with exposed beams and a very unusual layout. This pub is very busy and as it was previously a Lloyd's, does play music, however there are nooks and crannies to escape in. Breakfast was of course good value and although a couple items were on the cool side, given the volume of people, they can be forgiven. Service was excellent even better with their app. Highly recommended.
S. T.
Well run & very organized but all areas need a clean. Handrails very sticky on all stairways. Drinks ok food not bad friendly staff.
J. R.
Very decent mix of respectable drinkers and standard passing through punters. Stacked out beyond belief especially during peak summer dates it is, but overall it's not regularly total carnage.
Outdoor seating is fine, and the location is right on the edge of the beaten Quayside ale track, so no problems there really. I've no need to mention what's on offer as it's standard Wetherspoons craic. The beer is still top and virtually free compared to other joints a few strides away that do not serve good fayre, though pretend to at twice the rate.
P. B.
Beautiful place to visit. It has a really buzz about it! Lots of places to eat and drink.
S. 1.
Lovely pub 5 stars, we had late lunch at 2.30, pub quite empty. It was a shame food all came out cold.....very disappointed. Staff replaced food but that wasn't fresh either. Such a shame it's in a lovely setting. They must have had a bad day😟😟
J. K.
Good menu. Good service. Good quality food, and wine.
Excellent soup
G. H.
One of the better JDW's and in such an iconic location. Good food and drink served quickly even on a busy Saturday afternoon. Dropped one star for miserable staff who closed 15 minutes early (11:45) instead of advertised midnight on a Sunday. When I asked to be served 1 last round the bloke behind the bar was quite abrupt.. bordering on rude. Given there were about 8 of us who had spent quite a lot of money in there and were quiet and respectful in behaviour, I expected a more respectful response back to a request for a last drink especially as it was not due to close for a further 15 minutes.
L. B.
Friendly, warm and cosy refuge on the historic Quayside. Well looked after by staff, the food was very good value. Only sad let down was Wetherspoons instance on self service machine poor tasting coffee.
T. H.
Good old spoons. Seamed to lack on the ale front and everything decent had run out. With only standard generics on tap. Handy for food and drink with 10 min walk to area a. Food is standard spoons. Large outdoor seating. 3stars only for lack of ale.
A. H.
Excellent location by the river. Witherspoon drinks and pub food at competitive prices. Busy especially at weekends. Plenty of helpful staff thus service generally good. Outside areas to drink and relax with great views of river and bridges.
r. n.
cheap pints and quick service
A. P.
Big garden, lovely atmosphere
A. D.
friendly welcoming and not badly priced drinks and smack bang in the city centre this is a good place to visit along the way of several other similar pubs in the area. All in all I must say I quite enjoyed it. There is a possibility that in busier times you will have to huddle close to hear one another speak but hey ho it's a small price to pay for conviviality and centrality.
S. B.
Lovely walk along the riverside...stopped off at the Weatherspoons..Sat outside for a drink then on to Unos for a meal.
Social distanced tables.. mask wearing staff and individually wrapped cutlery..enjoyed a lovely meal with a bottle of wine. Feels safe and as much like pre covid times as it's possible to feel..
There are quite a few people a stir but not busy.
Sick of hiding st home, so glad to be out.
L.
Very good value for money. 2 out of 3 visits our meals were cold. Relaxed atmosphere, so relaxed that even some members of staff forget they are working.
E. E.
Had breakfast here twice. Very nice and a much better price than the Hilton and not far to walk.
S. W.
Brilliant large beer garden with quick customer service a great time just gets busy quickly but usually a small wait for a table
M. H.
Nice Wetherspoons pub, multiple floors. Very popular on the quayside, more local types clientele, more middle aged crowd. Good atmosphere. Outdoor seating area spacious. Can get extremely busy. Tip: Use the Wetherspoons phone app to order drinks and food to a table number that your next to. Far far quicker.
C. M.
Good selection of beers, but, as usual, the food was cold when it arrived.
C. T.
Lovely staff and very kind doorman could not recommend any higher. Great night.
m. d.
Awesome example of a very well looked after 'Spoons pub.
Great atmosphere, pleasant, professional staff and nothing is too much trouble.
Make sure you have the Wetherspoons app, this place is deservedly busy and the app will save you a world of time waiting in the queues behind the technophobes.
A.
Great location and just a few minutes walk from city centre. We ordered through the app. Great price food and drinks. Plenty of seating inside and out. Fairly typical Wetherspoons menu and friendly team.
S. M.
As it's Thursday, we went for a Curry and it was very good. Not much else to say really.
N. H.
You get what you pay for food was nice ...hot ...quick service friendly Staff.Great location
E. S. m.
Loved the atmosphere and the laidback feel, great views over the Tyne and along the quayside.
Food and drinks were very reasonably priced with a comfortable noise level to enjoy chatting.
Perfect for anyone and good parking
A. C.
Very popular meeting place. Not easy to order at the bar when it gets busy, however if you use the Wetherspoons table service App then it's much less stressful. Drinks and food fairly priced. Great view of the river and bridges if you go out the far rear of the pub, and is much recommended.
S. P.
Went in with a local friend of mine!
Typically wanted the local dining experience with drinks. Trust me you'd get it. The typical British experience ...a must for travelers and it's a lovely place. So immersed that I couldn't click pictures 😋
J. S.
Great atmosphere. Food is decent; just like any other Wetherspoons. Ale and drinks selection is large and the view of the Tyne is stunning when you're sat on a warm summers evening at the front. Have been served a few incorrect meals but I can easily forgive that due to the size of the restaurant and how busy it was at the time. The staff were lovely and rectified this straight away anyway.
T. P.
2nd Spoons of the day, onwards and upwards!
i. K.
My most popular quayside place. Lovely views and menu is all reasonably priced as usual like the rest of the chain. It has two outside areas and parking next to it. Parking is free after 6.30pm and ruring the day not very expensive. The problem is dueing winter if you cant go out because of cold only couple of table has the view of lake. You need to be lucky to get one.
J. G.
This place has a great feel to it and comes with lovely views of the river and and a fantastic courtyard for those rare sunny days. Something really draws me to this obscure little Wetherspoon's on the Quayside, that makes it hard to pass by. As always well priced too. Another great example that proves chain pubs can still have their own special character.
D. W.
Good service, friendly staff.great view of river.
M. S.
This has a fantastic position in Newcastle and sells cheap food and drink so attractive in several ways. We were not allowed to bring our dog into the pub or outside seating area so purchased take away coffees to consume on a public bench. (But you can't purchase alcohol to consume there.) Friendly helpful staff but the major downside was the very smelly men's toilet and my wife was recommended by staff to use the disabled toilet because the ladies was so bad.
M. P.
Special place lot's of bars and restaurants
C. C.
Always a fantastic few drinks and a brilliant view and company
F. T.
Another great Wetherspoons pub
A. M.
The staff are lovely and friendly the only let down was the food been in Saturday and Sunday and Monday morning for breakfast every time it was cold
D. G.
Decent food, good prices...wider outdoor area feeling secure in the current pandemic...
m.
Busy and a bit chilly but canny craic
S. S.
Great location on the attractive Newcastle Quayside with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. Order food and drinks via the app to save time queuing at the bar. Good portion sizes on well priced food.
J. P.
Very busy Sunday, end of September, great venue and the weather was also
L. H.
Quick service both at the bar and through using the app. As always a lovely building, clean and well kept in all areas. The food really seems to be getting better in all Wetherspoons too.
o. b.
Part of the wetherspoons chain. Historic quayside location. Good food great beer selection. Table service via the app. Reasonably priced food and drink. Layout is a bit chaotic. Two outside seating areas and the loos are super.
B. L.
Great wetherspoons pub right on the river with fantastic views of the Tyne and other bridges. Lovely beer garden at the front, outdoor courtyard at the back and a lovely cosy pub when the weather is not so good. Usual great spoons value for drink and food.
K. B.
Reasonable food at reasonable prices.
A.
Beautiful place! It has inside and outside seating. A terrace in the front and an inside court yard. The English breakfast is very good!
Prices are very decent and the staff friendly.
d.
Good, cheap food, would've been 5 stars had it been a bit cleaner.
I go regularly and you can't really go wrong with the prices
M. P.
Fantastic place. Visited on work night out. Had a fantastic time
J. C.
It's a witherspoons dirty tables nobody to clean them a bit run down.but you know what your getting ,Did it's job
K. H.
Cheap and lively. Great deals on drinks and nice atmosphere. Worst breakfast I have ever seen. Took it back for a refund. Stone cold and thrown on the plate. Ok for drinks, definitely not ok to eat there.
L. “. g. G.
Great food great location friendly staff and locals- great afternoon
K. S.
Typical Weatherspoon menu, lots of seating including a fancy internal balcony above the bar. Staff have always been welcoming and on the ball (must be good management) the facilities are very clean, men's toilets have an impressive array of urinals with privacy guards.
It's location by the Quayside (included in its name) provides excellent views, there is a sun trap at the front of the pub, great for summer beers.
Had many dates in there, safe to say it sufficed.
S. S.
Great pub and don't rip you off like most pubs in Newcastle
S. B.
I know it's very generic food but I appreciate it for what it is. It's very good value for money and the food came fast and it was tasty. Add to that a nice view of the river Tyne and you have a nice casual place to enjoy a meal or drink.
K. T.
Great location overlooking the river in an old converted building!
D. L.
Mondays, cheap drinks! Fill ya boots if you have the day off.. Everyone else in there is doing it anyway! 😂
L. C.
A typical wetherspoons regards food but has lots of different drinks such as a variety of real ales and gins. Great place to go on a weekend because even when full you always get served quick due to the amount of staff they have on.
D. K.
It's a popular place. Big outside area both next to the river or out in the rear courtyard. It gets really busy. But the staff are great. They will serve you quickly.

This is my favourite pub in Newcastle, such a nice feeling sitting outside over the quayside and the river. Has two floors and a very rustic feel to it.
Food is nice, there is a brilliant range of drinks there and the service is brilliant.

Great weatherspoons. As always tasty food and good value. The building is really quirky and nice just to wander round before you puck your seats. If its sunny you need to get here early as ut gets busy. Especially if you want to sit out front by the river.

Great location to enjoy views of the Tyne Bridge with the cheapest drinks in town. Great guest ales.

Large Weatherspoons - food and drink as you'd expect, a good price and decent quality. Lots of tables inside, a courtyard for smokers with tables, parasols, and heaters. A few tables looking out to the Tyne as well which is lovely on a clear day.

Been in better spoons pubs didn't try the food but drinks as always great. Where it falls down is this is a bit shabby and needs a bit of a renovation. Considering it's location it should be better

A cracking ' spoons by the river in this ancient building with squint windows etc

standard spoons really. great riverfront location with outside seating at both the front and rear of the pub. will get really busy when the weather's nice but that's to be expected given where it is. is also a Lloyd's pub so there's music and a more lively atmosphere on a Friday and Saturday night. popular with both students and older people, i'd rate it the best spoons in newcastle, only let down by its slightly dated interior
