Reviews of The Swan
J. A.
Absolutely beautiful place and customer service is excellent..food was lush...
Staff were very friendly and know how to look after their customers
A. H. (.
Food was done fast nice standard and the price was good. 27/2/2022 been a number of times now since my 1st review and has become one of my favourite places, I would highly recommend.
D. L.
3 other tables occupied that lunchtime . Chose hunters chicken and cod / chips for the main meal. Chicken a bit too crispy and the cod was too much batter and not enough fish. Left disappointed. Service was okay.
A. M. H.
Best pub, after a long days walk with no cell phone, staff kindly phoned our taxi and with cold lagers we sat outside admiring the view. Highly recommended!!
S. P.
Went here for lunch on Friday, its set in a fantastic location, we could have stood looking at the view from the car park all afternoon. We were greeted nicely and shown to our table straight away. The service was great and so was the food. We would definitely recommend and definitely return.
J. S.
All the staff, from the lady who welcomed us to the manager and waiting staff were lovely, friendly and efficient. The food was very tasty and good value. Overall, a great visit and I would definitely return.
A. P.
Customer service is second to none. They always make me and my family feel welcome and look after us. Food is excellent. Management and staff are lovely. Thanks again!
S. M.
Food was OK, missing dumplings for beef. Service was poor. Spilt coffee, tried to take dessert plates while people were still eating it. Staff need training, especially for a slow Wednesday evening. Plus had to seek out wateress to pay the bill. Although it does seem to be a nice pub
B. A.
Open for Sunday dinner. Yup that’s the highlight....
Otherwise a very average pub. Average / slightly weird food (see pictures), slow service.
You can do much better in the area. Unless its Sunday night and you want pub food, in which case you have no choice!
J. P.
Service was okay, a new starter so was a bit nervous
When we asked if we could have some water for the dog was told that, although we’d been sitting for over half an hour and we had bought a second drink, we were not allowed to sit where we were and had to move. Also when we asked to swap a bag of unopened bag of crisps the lad wasn’t overly friendly. Also the hand dryer in the gents toilet did not work.

Accommodating to our vegan needs, made an effort to trace vegan wine for myself and my fiancé. I would advise though to book in advance and be flexible on wine, not all vegan wine available & most vegan dishes favour red wine, not white.
D. L.
The food was really excellent the service was equally so very friendly and went the extra mile as it was one of our parties birthday would definitely return and recommend to everyone
R. H.
Went for a family meal and a drink afterwards and thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening , great food and very friendly atmosphere ,will definitely return again
J. k. (.
Popped in for Sunday lunch, we both had lamb shank which was absolutely delicious with nice veggies, very good gravy and cauliflower cheese 😋 the kids menu was good too. Staff were warm and friendly, we would definitely go back …
L. H.
Came for a meal at The Swan with a group of ladies, having enjoyed a walk in this delightful village. Everyone got served quickly and efficiently and everyone enjoyed their meal - clean plates all round. I had the chicken pie with lovely mash and excellent veg. Really tasty
S. C.
Very friendly staff; Jamie, Dan and Tori.
Lovely food, great service. Thank you, we'll visit again
K. E.
Great place with good food. We were looking for pub food and this place delivered. The only star off is because of our expectations, which were for a better pub experience. This was more fancy than a pub, and the prices were higher as well. We'd eat here again, for sure, but only if looking for a restaurant and not a pub.
R. M.
Visited for Sunday lunch. Very impressed with the service as we had someone with a gluten intolerance in our party. The serving staff knew what was available and doubled checked with the kitchen what could be altered. This was great and really appreciated.
p. c.
Kate and Simone were really attentive, great servers, and really friendly. First time coming as we are buying a house near hear. Will definitely not be our last time visiting. Already booked again. Thanks girls :)
N. M.
Came here yesterday for our Fathers Day meal with my parents and my 10 week old son. The staff were so accommodating with our pram and put us in the perfect spot where we wouldn’t be in the way of other people and there was plenty of room. Emily served us and she was lovely and so professional all the staff were so friendly and the food was absolutely delicious! We’ll defo continue coming back.
Thank you again!
P. B.
A great place to have a drink or why not have dinner. The food is of exceptional quality. The seating is mixed from leather sofa's to captain chair's. All round Joly nice place.
D. n.
Nice views when sitting outside if not too cold, had the cambert starter and se olives very nice
C. J.
Fabulous views of Tyne Valley from the carpark. Located on Hadrian's Wall trail. Helpful staff and good menu.
L. M.
Just had Christmas lunch and the staff and food were fantastic first time eating out on Christmas Day could not fault anything perfect and Meg who looked after us was fantastic nd lovely
t. l.
It was a long time I last visited this pub. But it was as pleasant and friendly. The food we had was very good, I would certainly recommend a visit.
E. G.
Fabulous meal, 4 of us went last Monday for starters and mains, we all had something different, as well as the great food, fab waiter and waitress, the views for miles blew us away too!
A. K.
Another fabulous experience at the Swan today, lovely Megan & Callum served the best dessert I have ever had "Black Forest Flower Pot" everything on my plate was edable, it looked beautiful and tasted like heaven, I'm in a very happy place 🥰 …
G. I. S.
Great find , lovely staff and great pint of Doom Bar . Orderd a pizza and sticky toffee pudding which was great . Nice views from the outdoor seating area .
N. T.
Good selection of snacks, sharing boards, starters and main courses. Also had many real ales and wines to choose from. Outdoor seating area and nice views. Large size pub with lots of seating
S. C.
Welcomed with a big smile and a very polite lady, lovely chat while our drinks were getting prepared, however drinks were a bit more expensive than I would have liked to pay.
T. M. H.
Visited last night all the way from NZ, with hubby and lovely new friends. We had a great night, lovely pint and beautiful meal, thank you 👌🏻 …
A. W.
Amazing food and the staff was welcoming and knowledgeable. Set us up with a cab to our lodging as well.
I. R.
A country pub with a bit of a corporate feel. Nice, clean, large but not quite the cosy country pub I was expecting.
T. T.
Staff very attentive and have a really good sense of humour
Restaurant was very clean
Food value for money
Will definitely be going back
T. V.
Stopped off for food and drink whilst walking Hadrian’s Wall. Quite a nice feel to the pub, although it’s more geared to be a family eatery than village pub.
Service was good and food was of reasonable standard.
E. N. D.
Lovely evening meal at The Swan. Gorgeous location, nice, spacious interior and friendly, kind staff. Very tasty signature burger with beef brisket and chicken pie. Lovely dessert choices too. Thanks Caitlin for your great food tips and service!
J. H.
Exceptionally nice lunch. Many vegan vegan options albeit my veggie main was a bit small. Tasty and the people were friendly. Place was very clean and comfortable 👌 …
M. G.
Just been for fathers day. Service a little slow (we were there for nearly 2.75 hours) but place was busy obviously. Pigs in blankets on menu but that is stuffing wrapped in bacon not sausage!, waitress did say they shouldn't call it that. One sticky toffee was hot the other was not so presume no.2 just got missed for heating up. Meat portions a little small in sunday lunches. Eton mess was large portion but my wife had only three pieces of fruit within hers. Food was nice but just a few niggles. Fairly chunky service charge at 10% (there were 12 of us) which we paid as staff were helpful.
B. P.
We visited at a lunch time with all my family: 9 in total and had to pre order our main courses.
The food is good pub food but my fish dish was not quite hot enough. As there is a service charge included we bought our drinks from the bar which I would recommend. I ordered a creme brulee which came without warning up under a grill with two short bread biscuits which were not crisp.
All the food tasted nice but they must check for heat in the main course and to put the brullee under the grill with crisp biscuits. If they do the above customers would go away happier.
C. J.
Spacious, clean and tidy. Tables in restaurant were set out and welcoming. Good choice on Lunch menu. Very friendly staff will definitely be back
J. F.
Excellent, went for lunch today, both had fish and chips, food was brilliant, piping hot and really well presented, service was great from Kim and Janet, would definitely recommend.
C. P.
Lovely food and friendly staff. Worth a visit.
T. L.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was plentiful and well cooked. Very happy with everything.
r. m.
Absolutely beautiful Sunday lunch, roast trio includes beef pork loin and turkey, stuffing wrapped in bacon with fresh yorkies and tasty roasties and fresh veg. Another bonus is that you can have as much gravy as you want. All this for £12.50 can't complain
S. F.
My son and I ate at The Swan having arrived in Heddon as part of our Hadrian's Wall Path walk. The Swan is accustomed to hikers from the display in the entrance. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We both had the Hunters Chicken which was thoroughly enjoyed.
M. C.
Very welcome sight after climbing the hill on the HWP. Pint of Wainwright's went down well with a great view from the beer garden. Friendly staff.
T. G.
Lovely clean pub . You can take dogs into the bar . Food good and staff very friendly.
J. D.
Very warm welcome excellent pint and amazing food definitely would recommend thanks to all the staff at the Swan today! = )
M. D.
I can safely say that the service and food were excellent , super friendly and attentive staff
J. H.
Our party of 5 all had a lovely lunch today. The food, service and venue were all very pleasing.
Very friendly staff, very welcoming and attentive. We will definitely visit again.
c. T.
Took the grand daughters for tea and they were really spoiled by Kim. The childrens menu has great choices and they feel very grown up. Adult meal of kedgeree fish cakes was great too lovely warm welcome and great service
D. P.
Somehow lacks authenticity. I feel like I'm just a target profile being marketed at. Food quite good but also impractical.
G. R.
Absolutely beautiful place. Janet
the landlady couldn't do enough for our party' even organised taxi's for us.And on top of that the food was amazing and the staff were brilliant. You have to give this place a visit 👌👌 …
R. T.
Great food and lovely staff
D. H.
Beautiful, lovely restaurant.
Nice service, super friendly personnel.
Enjoyed a short break during Hadrian's Wall Hike here.
M. S.
Great Sunday lunch with family. Food and service was super
D. B.
Food overpriced and poor quantity, kept pushing the table to order more drinks, won't return.
L. C.
Lovely pub, warm and welcoming! Great food and service! Would recommend to anyone out for an afternoon walk, or looking for a nice place to relax. Views are beautiful, lovely on a summers day
L. H.
I came here on a Saturday afternoon and was greeted by friendly, helpful staff. There were plenty of tables to chooses from in a very pleasant, clean and warm environment. The pub is set in a very small village with beautiful scenery from the car park. I imagine it would be lovely to sit outside on a summer day.
I ordered chicken and mushroom pie which was delicious followed by a yummy creme brulee. All hearty home/fresh cooked food. My friend had lasagne and triple cooked chips which was also delicious. The garlic flatbread accompanying the lasagne was a little burnt but there was enough with the chips. We wouldn't of complained as the quality of everything else was lovely. I will certainly be going back here again and spread the word about this lovely place.
T. Y.
Excellent place for our early dinner after walking The Path from Chollerford. Excellent fish and chips. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend.
S. K.
Popped in for a meal with my wife. Nice pub with friendly staff. The starters and main courses were nice but didn’t blow us away - pub grub, and quite tasty. Enjoyed our visit but would try somewhere different next time. It’sa nice pub.
D. T.
Lovely Sunday lunch friendly staff nice and relaxing
M. T.
Nice place to sit outside in the summer and enjoy a cocktail or two.
S. T.
Lovely meal on Sunday served by Lovely pleasant staff Daniel and Sam see yous again soon 😀 …
P. S.
Lovely food and staff very pleasant helpful , will defoe go back
A. B.
Came for dinner with friends after a long day hiking the wall, really nice staff and delicious food. Will definitely be coming here again.
Also big thanks to Callum who got the orders for a large group of 18 perfect, and was great with the kids.
Tip for management:
You should Callum a raise
W. G.
Excellent pub and very friendly staff. Meals are excellent. Great views from the car park.
S. R.
Thank you for such a delicious roast dinner!! My daughter has coeliac but the staff, particularly Callum, went above and beyond to make everything stress-free and safe. They double checked food was definitely gluten free with the kitchen, carried it all out separately so it couldn't accidentally be contaminated and happily added veg on that was 'safe' for my 1 year old to eat. My first time eating out since her diagnosis and I am so pleased we went here. The food was delicious for all guests and we will definitely be going back!!
G. G.
Been my local for years, they have really tried and gone above and beyond since the pandemic, staff are always lovely and Megan is always brilliant will my little girl and dog.
Also they do a lovely glass of rose and tasty pizzas
T. B.
Lovely food and service definitely coming back
L. C.
Food was lovely, we sat outside.
The kids where so bored though and just wanted to run around. Would be lovely if they had a little slide or something to help keep them still.
Can't fault the service or food though
R. M.
Nice pub with great views. Food was pretty standard but i would have eaten a horse at that stage.
R. R.
Had a great evening at the Swan yesterday after a 25 miles section of Hadrians Wall Path. Janet was amazing and went above and beyond 👍 …
A. H.
Nice place with a lovely view of the valley, food good and not to badly priced. Staff friendly and quick service
C. B.
Lovely inside, great service, food was ok, had the lamb for mains and the blackcurrant and prosecco cheesecake which was nice but a bit tart and mam had the sticky toffee pudding which she said was lovely. Dog friendly which is great. Not to badly priced at £13.50 for the lamb and the desserts about £5.
L. W.
Lovely food, great service. Went for Sunday lunch. Portion was a little on the small side. Other than that, perfect 🙂 …
M. B.
Excellent service and great food. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and the food tasted great and was very reasonably priced.
S. C.
Beautiful views. Staff not very welcoming unable to relax in the pretentious atmosphere...food parts ok but wouldnt rush to come again... pretty average. Been in the pub and food industry many years and would be quite embarrased considering the place itself is beautiful
K. C.
The pub allows dogs. The dough sticks starter was fantastic. Not seen it before in a pub, but thought it was great and would love to have it again. My wife had the hunters chicken and devoured it. A ribeye for me. Cooked just as requested. And you can tell the peppercorn sauce was homemade. The chips were nice and crispy and the onion rings were banging too. Great experience.
J. F.
Stunning views, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Food is very tasty. Very dog friendly.
N. S.
Great hidden gem so close to Hadrians Wall. Warm friendly welcome from Kim and will be returning again with visitors from afar. Thank you!
S. E.
The food was superb .could not fault it
M. S.
We had a fantastic meal here yesterday. The food was piping hot and well presented. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great time. Stay safe everyone.
M. E.
Five stars for the ghost experience and food too.
Fantastic food in form of Sunday lunch trio, bar the potatoes which were so crispy they were hard, but the pork belly an absolute triumph. Turkey and beef good too. Sharing platter for dessert had us leaving very happy campers indeed. Great value. We are going to make it part of the ritual for when we visit family in these parts.
Staff super helpful re everything from gluten free to a place dog was okay to be with us and super kind bringing me lemon and honey when I ordered a mint tea saying my throat was sore. Wonderful friendly staff who made us really welcome.
Best of all was the ghost of Bertha Reay who we since read was the landlady and she vowed never to leave The Swan. We sat on table 1 in dog friendly area and my dinner plate kept moving by itself as if it was going to end up in my lap. After eating I alerted the others and they saw the plate do it too. Only taking out my phone to video this phenomena made it stop and did not do it again then. Thanks Bertha. Now my boyfriend sceptical of ghosts had to believe me. She was a nice ghost too if a little naughty. Nothing sinister felt.
So I can heartily recommend this restaurant and inn to ghost hunters too now.
E. M.
Food was fine, but not much atmosphere, disappointed with staff, and their lack of connection with customers. Not table service!
M. F.
Lovely pub, great service and lovely waitress, however we found the Sunday lunch, beef a bit tough and the meal a little chewy. My sister thoroughly enjoyed her ham hock said it was really nice. Overall a lovely atmosphere and a lovely pub.
B. H.
Friendly service but most importantly the food was incredible.
T. C.
Dined there Sunday 13/6 I was not overly impressed with the 3 meat roast dinner, outside dinner went cold very quickly Could do with some steak knives and was a bit pricey £15.25,marvellous view's though .
B. G. K.
Brilliant pub 👏 the staff are amazing, the food is excellent! …
D. T.
Once again excellent service from the two ladies behind the bar Kim and Janet they always look after me
J. D.
Amazing food, amazing staff, amazing views
J. W.
Beautiful Sunday lunch could highly recommend it , excellent service the staff are so helpful and friendly 😀 and the view when yiu come out is amazing 👏 well worth a visit hope to go again soon 😀 …
U. R.
Excellent food, staff, management and drinks. Perfect place to relax and have something to eat and a bevvy
H.
Lovely food.. I had the fish sandwich...I would 100% recommend and the mini pudding and coffee was a bargain too....Really friendly staff made conversation too...
R. G.
Excellent friendly helpful staff. Only negative we found was the price of soft drinks to expensive.
M. S.
Great food though a little pricey for the sizes. We'll worth a visit fir the view over the valley even from indoors but especially the outside seating
L. T.
Have eaten the same meal here twice, 5* for the first but 1* for the second time hence 3*. Completely different experiences, most recently the roast potatoes were inedible, parsnips only partially cooked and way too much cabbage although the lamb was lovely. Disappointing and probably wont risk it again with a 50/50 of the meal being decent
g.
Very nice food staff wonderful ..worth a visit .for Sunday lunch
M. M.
Great service, friendly staff
Had a good atmosphere. The clientele were very friendly
M. T.
The place was busy when we arrived but we had booked a table.
We all ordered a roast and when it came, it was nicely presented, but was only warm and the plates were cold. No one came to ask whether everything was ok until they came to clear the plates when I mentioned this.
Desserts again were ok.
As it being a vintage inn I thought it would be up to the standard of the badger ponteland which it definitely wasn't.
G. F.
We normally drive up to a place in Horsely but having got there tonight it was really bad so left without having something to eat. Found this place by chance. The restaurant is gorgeous. Our waitress was a delight. Food amazing. We will be back.
J. C.
Had a lovely lunch here with family following covid rules table of 6, food, drinks and service were top notch, only down fall was we were kind of told off for hugging our family goodbye inside the pub instead of doing this outside...maybe an error on our part but did feel like school children getting told off of the head, otherwise a lovely afternoon
m. p.
This pub, has to be in the good food guide, if not why not? I've never ever, tasted a carvery like it, and I've sampled some good carvery!!!! This one surpasses everything. The management must take credit, for everything they do!
A. E.
We were disappointed with Swan when we went on Sunday. The staff are terrific but the service was slow. The menu leaves a lot to be desired. Not much choice and what was offered was boring. Changing the ownership certainly hasn't done the place any favours! We used to use the Swan frequently but not now, which is a shame as it is within walking distance of our home.
L. N.
First time I've been here for a while ,and the food was lovely, pleasant staff and nice decor. Hopefully I will be back again soon.
B. S.
We had a fab meal in a lovely place. The server Debs was a real pleasure and a trooper. She made the whole experience a pleasure.
Food was fab ; hot and yummy. Great price and good menu
Thankyou
L. G.
A lovely place to go for a change. Four of us went for lunch today and all enjoyed our meals very much especially as there was 33% off our total price. We were treat very well, can't wait to go back next time.
C. H.
Husband and I enjoyed a seat outside in the sun, with a lovely local gin and a good pint for him.
S. W.
Great staff, gorgeous food (halloumi and watermelon salad), and reasonable prices. Staff took great care regarding Covid restrictions, Track and Trace, etc. Nothing to complain about. 😊 …
m. h.
Location and food was lovely, service fantastic
C. P.
The Swan is a cosy, well decorated pub . We came at about 2 to find that a few things had already run out . I had the wholefood salad which was nice but not a very big portion for £9 . However the crumble for dessert was delicious . My friend is a vegan and in spite of there being a vegan menu there was no vegan custard or any alternative to cows’ milk .
S. B.
Food was lovely! Atmosphere was very welcoming and the staff were extremely friendly!
c. h.
Very polite and friendly staff. Food good basic pub grub. What more do you need
d. c.
Excellent. Stopped off on route to somewhere else and had lunch here. The food was excellent in both quality and quantity and very reasonably priced. Staff were very welcoming.
A. P.
Pleasant evening meal, sea bass and mash excellent, veg too Al dente for me, hubby had gammon, ok. Worth a visit. Staff pleasant, lovely location.
R. M.
Nice place and lovely location... views are fantastic! A bit pretentious and over priced but food was good and our server was lovely, forgot my sides and also ended up with side that we didn’t order and paid for it!! Recommend going there for a beer or two!
S. L.
Absolutely gorgeous food and exceptionally friendly staff. Would highly recommend, and will definitely be returning, thank you.
J. H.
Food served on a Sunday evening was the draw.
The slow cooked lamb shank was lovely. The 'roasts' were limited to turkey or lamb.
The low blow was the choc brownie pudding which was inedible/uncooked. When this was brought to the attention of the staff, the comment was "sorry - we've had problems with that all day".
Shame.
A. W.
Lovely evening, amazing food and a great range of drinks. Lovely service from Caitlin. Great atmosphere. Would recommend.
P. H.
We had a fabulously tasty sandwich of brisket cooked to perfection with chunky chips the bread was sour dough thick slices with pink onons and a small tub of dripping gravy nicest hot sandwiches I've tasted in a long time
V. M.
We enjoyed our meals. Service was what you would normally expect. Nice young lady who waited at table. 4 stars as 2 things on menu not available.
S. T.
Very good restaurant with excellent staff who not only know their food but also the local history. A very pleasant evening and also the following days lunch was most enjoyable. Highly recommended.
a. r.
Lovely place. Friendly staff. Really good food and drink.
I. S.
Been here a few times but today food was mediocre at best.
D. C.
Good food and friendly service. Very big venue in a lovely country setting just 15 minutes out of the city. Well maintained and felt super clean.
A. W.
Good selection of food and drinks and service
J. W.
Lovely food and friendly staff, worth a visit
R. H.
Bravo!!! Exceptional service,"lovely" food & cosy ambience. We`re from the USA & have had mixed experiences at all sorts of restaurants, but The Swan at Heddon-on-the Wall was an emphatic & resounding hit! Set in a beautiful, tiny village, the building was clean, warm & inviting. The staff was welcoming, accommodating, & courteous. The menu offered tremendous variety. Our drinks and food were served quickly & presented perfectly. If the check had amounted to twice as much,it would still have been a great value. While we visited a number of more expensive, more "fashionable" dining establishments on our visit, none will bring a more satisfying remembrance than a perfect time at The Swan at Heddon.TEN STARS!
C. B.
Had a great New Year's Eve meal here for a party of 4. Service and food both excellent. Lovely atmosphere and great pub/restaurant. Looking forward to our next visit and will definitely recommend.
S. H.
Excellent experience from start to finish. Food was amazing, staff were brilliant. Can't wait to go back.
P. T.
Had a great Christmas day at The Swan. Very well looked after, the staff couldn't be more genuinely welcoming. Good food, great service, definitely make a return visit.
A. A.
Fantastic food drink and atmosphere 👌 recommended and a regular when we visit Newcastle 😀 …
S. K.
Large vintage inn pub, with lovley views and outside tables, usual chain pub fare, 20% off for AA members ( not Alcoholics anonymous! ) very quiet on our visit 2pm on a warm Friday..
P. L.
The food was really good we booked but we thought it wasn't necessary tables were nicely spaced out clean established restaurant and pub definitely would visit again.
S. A.
Lovely cosy bar that allows dogs in at the rear part of the bar area. Serves really nice food & a good selection of alcoholic beverages. Loads of outdoor tables as well, really nice place to be in the summer with it's brilliant views
S. T.
I left my phone tonight on the table, rang up and one of the managers kindly dropped my phone off for me in Throckley . Been going to the Swan for years and always found the staff kind and helpful. Thankyou so much. Xxx
A. B.
Really lovely staff and service. Food not the best as not very hot, meat dry (except for the lamb shank), flat Yorkshire pudding. Lovely views across the Tyne valley
S. T. (.
Always immaculate. Lovely space and fabulous views over the Tyne Valley.
M. S.
Enjoyed our meals today, had the fish and chips , will definitely return 👍 …
r. c.
Been a couple of times now during daytime and evening.
It's been quiet during the day and a bit livelier at night.
Every visit the staff have been incredibly friendly, helpful and excellent.
Food is great as is the ambiance.
Highly recommended
C. P.
Had a really enjoyable meal. Staff pleasant and services was great.
D. H.
The food was good but quite expensive. Garnish looked sad and certainly not the freshest. Staff did not engage with customers. The restaurant is very clean and well kept but lacked any atmosphere.
D. E.
Had a really good time this evening. Great atmosphere and friendly people. The staff were brilliant! Certainly had a happy new year! Thank you to all the staff.
E. L.
Lamb was tough and the veg was undercooked. Service was good. 8 out of 10 for taste.
A. M.
Friendly staff and very good food; outstanding chips!
J. N.
Lovely food good service and a great view of the Tyne valley from the car park
K. D.

L. H.
Food was great. Well organised and safe. Outdoor seating looked brilliant!
E. T.
Amazing place, friendly ambiance and welcoming staff. The food is superb and the menu caters for all tastes, children included. Will be visiting again!
M. A.
Friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, interesting surroundings
A. J.
Excellent curry. Would have loved a gluten free cake /tart /cheesecake type dessert. Thank you for your lovely hospitality
P. o.
Beautiful restaurant in a quiet part of northumberland, great food and very welcoming
A. C.
Excellent service given by Janet and Megan, will be back soon and bring the dog as we noticed it was dog friendly and even had treats
A. C.
Great food and efficient service from all the Swan staff especially Deb our waitress, will definitely eat/drink here again soon
C. E.
Nice old 'traditional' English pub on Hadrian's Wall. The food was very good and wasn't too expensive. I'll likely go again.
A. R.

Food good and plentiful, but slow service, especially when trying to pay! Waited a full 5 minutes despite asking staff member if someone could take payment. When someone did arrive, she was surly and unfriendly. Hence no tip given.
