How many times have I walked past this place and not stopped by. Now I have, I know I will be back . We went to spend a half hour then decided to stay for Subday lunch and it was worth it. Thank you staff. We will be back

This is a lovely pub, the staff were so friendly and helpful, we stopped by for Sunday dinner and will certainly be stopping by more often, the dinner was to die for, everything cooked perfectly and service with a smile. I don't know why we left it so long to visit this lovely pub.

Table for 6 on a Friday night - they'd ran out of some of the pies and full size chips (i.e. only had fries available) when we went (which was only at 7pm) but it's more of a classic pub that also does food than a gastro-type pub, so not a big issue. Food was solid pub grub with good portion sizes. Good selection of beers/ales. Friendly staff.

A pub that has been opened and closed a few times over the years. They may have got it right this time. Has been given a good refurb since we were in last, 3 / 4yrs ago. Worth trying if you've have never been in and worth trying again if you haven't been for a long time.

Nice family pub. Went for Sunday dinner, reasonably priced and very tasty, giant Yorkshire pud was delicious. Needed a bit more gravy and we did have to wait quite a while - up to 50m. In an easy to get to location but parking can be difficult, would recommend getting public transport as there is a few bus stops and a metro nearby. Nice spot overall though.

A really great pub. Well worth a visit. Friendly staff, a nice selection of ales, music and quiz nights. Very popular for Sunday lunch so I advise you reserve a table or go early. They also cook the greatest Rib-Eye steak and chips I've ever tasted.

Great pub, making most of Social Distancing requirements in place at this time. One way system in operation, together with hand sanitisationand track and trace sign in, but this doesn't impact on the atmosphere in the pub. Spent an pleasant evening here. Looking forward to a visit to the Wednesday night Quiz.

Friendly, welcoming. Good menu. Reasonably priced. Good selection of beers. Sadly disappointed in the vegan burger. "Oven" chips were soggy and greasy. No alternative given for coleslaw. They could have given at least a garnish of salad instead of just saying " you can't have the coleslaw because it's not vegan". Perhaps it was an off day?

I've always walked past and never considered popping, however a friend suggested and it was a pleasant surprise. Nice atmosphere and selection of drinks. Haven't eaten in here but heard the Sunday roasts are good.

Just visited on a Friday night, it was busy but not packed with a great atmosphere. The refit has done this pub the world of good. We had pittas and dips to start with fish and chips and beef and ale with dumplings for mains. The portions were a really good size but really great quality too. The beef and fish were particularly tasty and fantastic value. An honest pub. We be back to try the Sunday lunch soon!

A great little pub very friendly staff good food Due to the recent changes you now have to book a table if you want to sit inside but there's plenty of outdoor seating. Also a one way system is in place and a sign in register. It feels strange but safe well worth a visit

Portions were massive! Visited with a large group for a mid week lunch. All the orders were brought out correct, hot, massive and delicious. Just a shame there weren't many gluten free options, I had to risk gammon egg and chips and hope it was okay

Great pub, the food is home made and fantastic, no microwave pings here! The staff are very attentive and extremely polite and friendly. The Magnet Kitchens team had a great night and we will be back for more, it's hard to find pubs like this and the prices are great value for money. Try it.

Decent boozer! Intermittent drinks here over some ten years or more have been absolutely fine. Somewhat off my beaten path, it now looks arguably better than ever post refurbishment. It is dog friendly which ticks a big box these days (absolutely not mine though. Keep 'em out along with children) so no five star rating. The beer for me is sound, and whilst I've not tried their snap, the plates blasted forth appear to be bang on. Along with two other rival boozers within a few hundred metres of each other, the South Gosforth area I think is well served for punters like myself requiring beer. Food optional.

Good pub with decent real ale. I was not there to eat (just popped in for a quicky), but I wish I was - saw many meals being served and wished everyone of them was for me, they looked sooooooo good. Sadly never got a taste.

Just had a brilliant roast beef Sunday dinner washed down with a very well kept pint of Cumberland ale. Lovely, busy traditional pub with great staff. Sunday lunch served until 6 pm. The new management are really doing a great job. We'll be back 😊

Nice pub. Good food. Good service. Hubby had belly pork and black pud, which was great. I had pie, chips and gravy. Pie was fab. Very thin pastry, and big meat content. Gravy was obvs instant. At least whisk out the 'clots'. Extra onion rings looked lovely. But they were swamped in oil and thats all they tasted of. Shame. But we will go back.

Late lunch today had my favourite beef casserole but today was way too salty. I guess i should have sent it back but ate the veg and lovely dumplings. Couldn’t eat more. Told staff of my disappointment but there was no feedback which I found very disappointing.
