On this day, my wife and me just turned up without booking. We wanted to celebrate our 5th year's anniversary with cocktails and nice food. Service and the cocktails were nice and brilliant, the only negative point was the steak just a bit overcooked. I didn't make any problem with this, because I like that as well, I just gave a feedback for the manager personally. For this, we got an extra drinks even if we were happy with the food and the service as well. These guys know how to makes people more happier on the happy days. Well done!

This was such an lovely visit. 2 vegetarians, 1 with allergies and 2 vegans....we all managed to eat different foods and really enjoyed the service! The service was outstanding and so good that we went back a few days later as their was a person fasting on the original visit that missed out on the food. Would go back in a heart beat! You are missing out if you don't eat here!

Absolutely flawless service this evening from Carla & Rhys. Arrived with my partner and toddler daughter to a clean and very nicely decorated restaurant. We were greeted by Carla with such warmth and she explained the menu as well as ordering process. The food was tasty, arrived quickly and the kids menu was perfect in size and amount. My thanks to Carla for her effort tonight and I hope this is conveyed to her. It’s not often enough that good service is recognised but she was brilliant - thank you so much!

Just got back to Devon after spending 4 days on the isle of white. We visited the slug and lettuce and wow what great food, great cocktails and relaxed service. The lady with red / pink hair was very helpfull and very friendly. A credit to the chain! Thanks for a great experience and thankfully there is a slug and lettuce near by in Plymouth. We visited the bar restaurant during our holiday this week. The Slug & Lettuce like Southampton attracts more young people than the older generation we are both 58. However we found the decor and the ambiance very welcoming very clean albeit on a night that wasn't too busy. Sarah the waitress was very polite and helpful and made us feel welcome she even asked if my wife didn't have a gluten problem when she ordered the Peroni. As for the food we had the S&L Sharer a pint and a bottle of Peroni and three desserts as they were 3 for £7.00 total bill £28.00 not bad at all. It’s like a night club at night but with 20 people inside. They were doing 2 for 1 on cocktails which made it really cheap. The music was soooooo loud so really hard to hear and speak.

I came here with 5 of my friends on Wednesday and the service was incredible! I didn’t catch our waitress’ name but she was so kind and was apologising for the wait even though we only had to wait 30 minutes. They’d only launched the new menu the day before and the food was amazing, the drinks came very quickly and were delicious! Busy place on Saturdays, becomes abit of a nightclub which is a great place to start. Seems to be most people start at the Weather spoons, then the Slug, move next door and onto Fever. Overall drinks were fairly priced and lots of space.

Nice staff, very friendly and helpful. It was their first night cooking after covid so a few little things needed sorting but I think once they find their feet again it'll sort it's self out. One big problem was the tables, very, very unstable to the point you'd spill your drink. I had to jam the menu holder under the table stand as a folded up menu would not fill the void to stabilise the table. The tables around the edge of the pub were nice and solid but they were all full(think they had been before) food was pub food so I'd say it was good. Beer/larger was very good....nice and cold. I'd visit again but try and sit at the more stable tables.

Since Yates changed ownership and became the slug and lettuce I have visited 5 times either solo or with family, unfortunately whilst it has incorporated some new ideas the food and prices have let the place down, the burger meals in particular, iv had to return 2 from 5 meals as the burger meat was largely un cooked, Il not be dining there again, I'd recommend pointers instead.
