First visit back in a while and realised how much we've missed this place. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to help, no matter what time you get there. Food is amazing too, so well presented its been eaten twice over with your eyes before it even reaches your taste buds..... Highly recommend a visit 😊

We had the roast lamb for Sunday lunch which was excellent and very good value for money. A real olde worlde decor and a great ambience. Excellent customer service Returned some months later for midday lunch. Again staff could not have been more helpful. My mum and I had scampi and chips which was very good. Our dessert of sticky toffee pudding with cream was absolutely delicious

Oh my! Gracious staff could not have been more helpful if they drank the drink and ate the food for us. Nothing seemed too much bother, and with a small child our need can be excessive. All needs catered for with an ear and a smile. Food was good...really good. All with a price that made my pocket laugh. Yes, it was a sight! But seriously, service, food, price...AND!!! They have this social distancing cleverly sorted out. I recommend this place for visit.

Great olde worlde pub, good good and drinks, I tried the fish and chips which was very nice. My friend really enjoyed the Lasagne. The service was excellent and our small group thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Recommended.

Nick, Nathan and the team run a fantastic pub. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff; the pub has a warm, comfortable atmosphere where you feel instantly at home. Great to sit inside or out in the garden and enjoy the various real ales (which change on a regular basis), and the delicious meals (the seafood specials are fantastic). Highly recommended 👍

Not too far from the M4 makes a great change from the dull service area with repetitive food offering. A place for the locals and travellers with its own car park but Street parking also available. Lovely interior with a choice menu of good value. The food was tasty, the chips were perfect soft and fluffy inside with a soft crisp exterior. Staff were very friendly and service was swift. Wholly recommend this place.

Loved going there I remembered when I was the cook there back in the 80s. The staff were lovely and friendly. The only reason I didn't give it 5* and its a personal preference is a little too dark in the corner we were sat in. The food was lovely would have liked an alternative to chips like a jkt potato but then I didn't ask so maybe my own fault as staff were very accommodating. Well done to young lad whose first day it was let's just say it will get easily but you were great.

Maybe I'm slightly biased because this place is my local but every member of staff is fantastic, the food is great and the service doesn't keep you waiting. There is always a brilliant and buzzing atmosphere inside and a friendly warm feel. I've brought several friends from uni here when they've visited and everyone has fallen in love! Can't recommend it enough! They also have an ever changing selection on draft which I know always makes my dad happy

What is it about pubs in Magor? Always seem to get the balance right between offering a great atmosphere and honest, great tasting food. Enjoyed a superb evening meal here with family, generous portions and a good menu choice all served in a traditional pub atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We'd heard about this place many times; good things I must add. But this was the first opportunity we had to stop here. As it was close to their closing time, we phoned ahead to make sure they kitchen would be open. We were not disappointed. We found out why this place is popular - great food at reasonable prices in a great atmosphere. Try it. Just make sure there's a space - phone ahead if you cannot book ahead.

The staff couldn't have been nicer and the food is excellent! I stopped on the way back from Bath yesterday and, wanting something better than McDonald's from the services, drove into Magor to find a pub for Sunday lunch on the off chance. I went in, asked for a table and they said that though they were booked up they'd give me a table in the bar. Lamb wasn't available as they had to save it for those who had booked but it wasn't a problem: the pork was brilliant! A really nice way to while away an hour with a paper, some good food and a lovely atmosphere. Food and a drink (soft - driving!) came in at less than £14, which I was amazed by when the bill turned up.

A lovely place to go for a meal and drink. We visited with friends. We didn't book any table. There are quite a few options to choose for the meal. Drinks and pub there too. First visit and it won't be the last. Menu for lunch/ early birds was both extensive and the dishes plentiful. The landlord of some 12 years was friendly and chatty as were the locals. There was an extensive list of real ales that had been on offer and were coming up and the pint I had lived up to the Cask Marque displayed. As I mentioned this first visit certainly wont be the last.
